Rumours on twitter that we tried to sign Chris Burke from Birmingham, would have been a good signing imo, but they rejected a few bids, ahh well good enough squad and young players coming through the ranks. Onwards and upwards!

1.) We needed pace and width when McDermott arrived, and it still hasn't been addressed, let's hope Byram is ready soon.

2.) I think you may be looking at some old info. That happened last transfer window on the final day. Birmingham pretty much doubled their price so we told em where to shove it!

3.) Sorry, but yet another #iss poor effort from the powers that be. It is obvious what we need and yet again we have not delivered. Welcome to another year of Varney and co.

We've spent money, brought in players who have all started well, tied up McCormack, got Byram and Diouf coming back, got Austin and Peltier at their best, and a nice flock of youngsters chomping at the bit.

The season was never EVER going to be about spending to get promoted. It's about building a team capable of promotion in the future.

Oh, and get off Varney's back. He finished last season strong, and he's started this season stronger.

You can already see in just one month what an impact McDermott has had on that squad. He's getting the best out of them. Our young lads are forging a decent partnership at the back, where we're yet to concede more than a single goal in a match yet this season.

There are so many positives to draw from the start of this season, its impossible to list them all, so not spending stupid money on an ego on the last day of the transfer window doesn't really matter in my opinion.

6.) There are positives, and agree I think we have a good manager ( although I don't know why he hasn't walked ).
The 2 year plan is basically farcical!
We have no right to spend millions on players, but come on, if you buy a club of OUR stature, you must give the manager something to go at!

7.) To be honest, I don't think our failing was the lack of signings, more the lack of sales! There seems to be a few championship clubs with far too many professionals on their books and unfortunately we're one of them.

8.) Get behind team mate. What we have is good enough to challenge. We wasnt that far away last season and so far the football has been better this season.

9.) Burke of 2/3 years ago would have been a fantastic signing, but not nowadays.

10.) Varney started the season strongly, are you real? He was terrible last weekend against QPR. To his credit he does try his best and gives 100% but he lacks the necessary quality to be good championship player

11.) For our team to improve the likes of varney and green and hunt needs to be replaced asap, if they remain in the 1st team we can write off this season already.

Let's be honest yesterday wasn't the complete performance that everyone expected. I see many of our fans say that defence is our priority, in pre-season I would've agreed, but after our last two games I feel we've been defensively sound (only a set piece mistake cost us yesterday). The problem is our strikers, we either buy an out and out striker like becchio and beckford were or we move ross up front and bring in a creative player into ross' position. If we're talking priorities I feel a defender is not desperately needed (only one as cover) because Lees and Pearce are starting to create a strong partnership at the back. Also two wingers to supply our strikers. MOT

1.) IMO we already have a creative player in murphy who's passing ability is wasted on the left side of the diamond. So push McCormack up front and put murphy in the pocket behind the front two. We need wingers!
