Just been thinking about people saying that they are not happy with us signing mostly unknown foreigners.
Off the top of my head, I can think of a few in the past that had us scratching our heads and then became great players for us :
Lucas Radebe, Tony Yeboa, Jimmy Haselbaink, Alf Inge Harland and Eric Bake . These are just a few I thought of, no doubt there will be others that can think of more . Just saying lol MOT

The comparison is not quite the same, as all of those listed were full internationals (except Bakke) and came from the top division in their respective leagues (again I accept that Sogndal and Kaiser Chiefs were not world forces in football). Perhaps they could have been viewed as a gamble but definately a calculated gamble. I think the issue that some fans have is not that these players are unknown, after all would an Italian know who Tom Lees or Jason Pearce are, it is that recruitment has been slow and it is difficult to see where the leadership on the pitch will come from

Notts

Although I agree the recruitement is slightly worrying at the moment, is it not best to bide our time rather than rush in and buy 5 persons as we've done in the past!

Just my thoughts mate ;)

Truth is we will not know how good they are till they have played a few games together, Bianchi is a good driving force in midfield and I reckon Doukara will be out on the wing as all his shots end up as crosses. Joking but he is a raw talent and needs some work. Just got the families kits from the shop, wifes got a training kit for the gym. can't believe they are not stocking the Thistle green and black top love that one and mine getting a bit worn.

Andy, I agree however bringing together a number of players will take time to gel. It was the start last season that ultimately kept us up. Not saying that we will perform as poorly as last season but it is a concern

5.) 16 Jul 2014
Andy 100% agree
We can't really say we are slow at moment 4/5 in! but transfers do take time and if others are interested in player (which I hope they would be, else we are back to previous buys that were ''the rubbish'' that no one else wanted) it will be a battle of wits to get them if we loose we go to plan B .which in previous years we never had .so let's be patient and see what the don n hock show bring us
LEEDS for life

I know lads let's not get carried away MC says 2-3yr plan.
I think top half this season would be ok just to sort the new structure out ;)

7.) 16 Jul 2014
I agree NottsWhite and I'm a little skeptical too, however it's a fresh start and as fans we'll get behind them. They will take a while to gel and we're going to have to give them a little time.

Notts, you are a better man than me if you had heard of any of the players mentioned . Its easy now to sit on wpidia or some web site and criticize players . Back then we couldn't do it, so these guys were unknowns to the vast majority of us .As for them being in the top leagues? you are having a laugh Sognal /Kaizer Chiefs WHO? Kaizer chiefs only became famous through Radebe and us lol It was just my way of pointing out that we don't know how these players will perform and just because they are not big names or cost millions doesn't make them bad players . We paid a fortune for some past players that were garbage IE Seth Johnson? Thomas Brolin ect MOT
