Leicester 0-0 Leeds & The New Captain

Before today's game I said I would be very happy with a draw and to have the clean sheet to go with that I will take it all day long. A draw was a fair result and although Leicester may say they should have won, Leeds had chances of their own to win it.
It was a very solid performance and Brian's tactics were spot on and made Leicester struggle with their formation in the first half. They changed it in the second half and created more chances, but the lads stuck to their jobs and got us a good result. Although at times it didn't look pretty and the way we set up to make it hard for them made some of our players look like they had an average game. There was nothing much going on up front and most of the work was happening in the middle of the park. Paddy Kenny had very little to do and it looked to me like he had Chris Woods shot that came off the post covered! The defence played well today with my only criticism again going to Peltier, making silly mistakes and not choosing the right pass, although he has just had the Captains armband taken off him and dealt with that very well and professionally. It was hard to pick out any of the Midfield as an outstanding candidate as they all dug in and did their jobs, except for Ruddy Austin as I believe he outshone the rest and played really well, proving why he was choice to be the Club Captain. I mentioned earlier this week that I could see Brian edging towards Ruddy as the Captain and I believe he has made a good choice. The front 3 found it hard today, all will be glad of the point as they didn't have many chances and it wasn't until Dom and Smithy came on did we look a bigger threat up there and could have even snatched a win today.

So, reflecting on a very good away point, I am very happy with the first 3 games of this season. A win against Sheffield Wednesday will bring even more feel good factor around the place and what a start that would be when on paper we have had it tough!

Congratulations Rodolph Austin on being The Leeds United Captain - MOT
