Hope the Paixao rumours are true and we manage to sign him. Great talent.
1.) 06 Jun 2025 06:30:43
He would fit perfectly with Solomon and James. Him as a 10 would cause serious headaches for their defence.
2.) 06 Jun 2025 08:42:24
Arsenal now looking likely to make an offer.
3.) 06 Jun 2025 13:21:25
That seems to be the way, Leeds get interested in a player and a bigger club swoop in and take him.
The big teams fear Leeds rising to their former glory, and for good reason.
4.) 06 Jun 2025 15:25:47
Agree mot. Very steep hill mate. Bit by bit. Survive. Improve and attract. Easy inninit.
5.) 06 Jun 2025 17:10:16
Could all just be smoke screens for our real targets? Look at Ao for instance?
05 Jun 2025 14:37:56
We may go back in for Matt O'Riley at Brighton?
Tried to get him from Celtic before he signed for the seagulls. Good player and would be a massive upgrade on Aaronson.
1.) 05 Jun 2025 16:10:43
have we been linked Corkey or are you suggesting it?
2.) 05 Jun 2025 17:33:00
I've read that we are still interested, and he is unhappy with his role there.
3.) 05 Jun 2025 17:58:19
Just suggesting.

Longstaff ?
I suppose he does run around a lot. Not sure what else he does well though?
Not a very inspiring signing but if he signs I'll cheer him on.
1.) 09 Jul 2025 06:14:24
He’s the type of player who’ll give 100% every game and not go missing like some we’ve had.
I think he’s good value for 12 Mil.
2.) 09 Jul 2025 08:40:33
Completely agree OP.
3.) 09 Jul 2025 12:49:02
Agree OP.
4.) 09 Jul 2025 13:45:26
Agree OP.
5.) 09 Jul 2025 14:08:32
Yes I totally agree run around all day good fitness but what else does he do we ve already got them so are we going to to stack the midfield with all them no is the answer for me we want to be turning teams around carrying the ball going forward at the moment we have jammed all the backs in midfield now ball winners and tacklers, but then for left wing a 10 or a baller with a bit of knowledge and the striker it’s got to be sensible then start fill bench up with some decent substitutes, but like I have said in the other chats can’t be loyal to everyone must start getting rid of players we not going to use like we saying piroe, he s never going to start be alright come on last 15 but if not going to start sell on bamford, he did nt give Schmidt a chance last year yet he brought him in get rid the same about ramazani, if he s not thinking of playing these guys in championship got no chance starting in premiership.

Leeds United were promoted on the 21st April that's two and a half months ago. Transfer targets for the Premier league would/ should have been in place even before then and once promotion was assured the lists for each position should have been locked down.
What is going on?
We obviously have to be prudent as many positions need filling but as things stand our first eleven is worse now than what it was at the end of last season.
Firpo and Solomon gone and Bijol in.
Players back for training on Monday.
1.) 05 Jul 2025 23:35:29
Good post Corky and I’m with you on this one. I was listening to Connor on his podcast and he’s not panicking but he is concerned as to why we have lost our apparent targets so easy to the likes of Sunderland, Leeds, like you said should have had all this in place as we were promoted many weeks ago, whether the CWC is holding us up or the fact that we are awaiting for players contracts to end who knows?
What is a fact and I don’t know if anyone has noticed this, but Rangers have signed more players than us, I would have thought we were the main concern not the Gers! The Luiz one has gone south, as have a few others, then this Weah one is now dead as he wants to go elsewhere, but these are not the signings we were expecting, we were expecting better, already in, signed, medical and training, but oh no it’s the usual Leeds way.
It never matters who our owners are we always seem to have the same outcome in transfers windows! I hope I’m wrong, I hope I’m proved a right Wally for panicking a little and I hope they have it all worked out and ready for big signings, I just wish they wouldn’t put us through this! ?♂️?♂️✊MOT.
2.) 06 Jul 2025 08:38:25
Morning guys, i am like you, getting a bit jittery with the noisy neighbour Mackems but when look at the wider Premier League I see that most teams are still at the beginning of their trading too.
I am going to put a positive slant on this by hoping that we have identified our target that are already in the Premiership (battle hardened) but we have to wait for the bigger fish to start the trading and then we can pick up our targets.
Maybe this CWC is a huge bottleneck for most teams' trading.
If we want McAtee then we have to wait for Citeh to analyse their future requirements.
If we want Bueinda then we are waiting on Villa and they may only sell once they have found a replacement that's in the CWC.
I am not saying any of the above is factual, I am just looking for patterns in general (and obviously I am clutching at straws with regards to being beaten to possibly targets by Sunderland! )
3.) 06 Jul 2025 09:29:25
I'd like to say don't panic because we've never been quick off the mark when it comes to signing players.
Providing we address the 2/ 3 main concerns of GK, CAM and goalscorer then all will be fine but please don't leave it till the last possible moment (again) !
4.) 06 Jul 2025 09:29:55
I think fans have to be patient on this particular transfer window, attracting good players to a newly promoted team isn’t easy these days and with PSR teams trying to balance their books by asking inflated prices like Muniz isn’t helpful.
Wouldn’t be surprised that the deals we really want, ie; creative midfielder and striker won’t happen until the end of the transfer window when clubs adjust to normal valuations on their players and become more desperate to offload.
Fans won’t like that but that is most likely the reality of what’s going on.
5.) 06 Jul 2025 09:42:46
Great posts fellas, obviously we cannot judge whether the window was a success before it closes, but agree that it’s getting a little uncomfortable waiting for additional reinforcements.
Especially, the signing of our new keeper, a position that historically we have been slow to address, and for me our most important signing of the window.
However, the signings to date have been good in my humble opinion, so I’ve adopted a new position of not looking at the rumour sites at all, and anyway LAD is far more dependable than those clickbait merchants.
6.) 06 Jul 2025 10:03:42
What never ceases to happen though, costs from club to fans increase immediately without any window or wait and see how it pans out approach.
If only the club treated transfers in the same way .
It makes a joke out of scouting dept, what do they actually do all year?
If as we are lead to believe Diarra went North, and now it's like tumbleweed blowing through ER
Let's be honest, we need a lot of players, and yet again all we hear is Silence, pre season is almost here .
9'ers love telling media how professional they are, well be professional in approach to playing in best league in world, not haphazard approach of picking up a few scraps last day of window.
7.) 06 Jul 2025 10:10:22
I agree, I’m a tad worried despite it being relatively early days.
Problem is we were told months ago the we would attack this transfer window aggressively, word used by Parag.
Now I attack any bag of crisps aggressively.
This is no aggressive attack on transfer window.
I don’t want to throw shade on Adam Undeerwood but for me it’s a very naive move having a novice in the roll in our first premier league transfer window, this is the most important transfer window we will have and I feel more experience was/ is needed alongside Adam.
Time will tell, but I’m not overly confident.
I’m not sold on rumours like Sargent, etc we need better as the first choice striker but I guess all transfers are a huge gamble, but Sargent I find very underwhelming.
It’s a worry that we still need arguably 8-10 signings to bolster the starting lineup and the squad/ bench.
2x lb
1 x Rb
1/ 2 x gk
1x cdm
1x atm
1x LW
1x RW
1x ST
Along with some player sales.
8.) 06 Jul 2025 10:22:54
I cannot see the panic yet. Surely we must wait on other clubs retained list then holidays then CWC then the selling club to obtain a replacement? Many bits of jigsaw to move before our peice fits. The only are of concern I have is being outmaneouvered by other clubs (Sunderland) . No, we are very much in the dark and must rely on HR to do their thing. Have Faith Brothers.
9.) 06 Jul 2025 12:06:50
Don't panic Mr Manwarings! Not just yet anyway. maybe next week, or in 10 days, we can all hit that button!? Let's see what this week brings first!
10.) 06 Jul 2025 12:26:23
No panic Brighty, but as Dave said it's what comes out of Paraag's mouth is opposite of what actually happens, and Dave's other point point of whose in charge of targets is a tad worrying
I would be fair pissed off if Sargent / Lewin were targets,
11.) 06 Jul 2025 17:01:34
Not panicking yet, even though mild panic is probably the average default setting for long-suffering Leeds fans.
As a related aside, I noted previously that Diarra would in all probability miss our away clash with Sunderland on 27 December, due to AFCON 25 commitments. The same applies to Sidiki. In fact, as has been picked up by at least one media outlet, the two of them will likely be facing each other that same day in their second match in the group stages. If we’d signed the two of them it would have been very Leedsy for them to have gone into a 50-50 challenge together and both sustained significant injuries.
12.) 06 Jul 2025 17:55:28
Axe you are right saying other EPL teams are at the beginning of trading but most of those sides will only be getting in 2-3 players whereas we need EIGHT at a minimum which is why I and others are getting the jitters.
Some were saying Diarra wouldn’t come to Leeds as he was after a higher profile team and then he signs for Sunderland! We need a marquee signing as soon as possible to show other potential buys what we Leeds United mean business.
13.) 06 Jul 2025 18:11:33
Hoped we would be aiming higher than Diarra also Cluey, we miss a lot more than hit with these type players.
14.) 06 Jul 2025 18:37:51
Diarra was not a marquee signing, Sunderland have paid well over the odds due to the profit they made on Bellingham. Diarra being French speaking and playing at Strasbourg the link with de Bris was most likely.
They’re taking an expensive chance on Diarra that might not work.
We are almost 2 months away from the end of the transfer window, how fans can be getting nervous is curious in my estimation.
We’ve bought three players in and possibly a fourth with Gudmundsson for LB.
Defense was a major concern for the Premiership and we are dealing with the most important in a matter of priority.
Why any fan should think that all the business should be completed already by now is a bit like, why haven’t I got my Christmas presents in November.
15.) 06 Jul 2025 19:07:41
How have Sunderland payed over the odds for Diarra?
You don’t know how he will perform in the EPL. Maybe the fee might turn out to be a bargain? Nobody knows how any player will get on at a new club especially in a different country.
Apparently Leeds were willing to pay 24 mill for him so is 30 such a stretch?
I’m not saying we should have paid what they wanted but I find it tiresome when people consistently say that a club payed over the odds just because Leeds missed out on a player.
16.) 06 Jul 2025 19:40:07
From previous seasons OP, Leeds continually leave it till last minute mostpy
Why can't we reverse that now and get sorted and let's all have a team bonding pre season?
seeing as the spin that's put on poor starts is, oh these lads need time to gel, you can't expect cohesion after 3-4 he's etc etc.
17.) 06 Jul 2025 20:05:56
Well I don’t get tired of it, everyone believing we are useless and with no intent in the transfer window is tiresome though.
18.) 06 Jul 2025 20:56:35
Really interesting thread this one! Loads of good reads!
19.) 06 Jul 2025 21:22:42
Thank you Brighty as I’m sure you are alluding to my good self ?.
20.) 07 Jul 2025 00:09:23
Well said Brighty, it’s bloody great on here now, a post gets proper answers and the debate and differing opinions is a great read. So much better without ridicule and argumentative sarcastic coded posts! So so much better ????.
21.) 07 Jul 2025 08:33:19
Agree, Woody. Back to enjoying the site again! Yes Corkey, totally referring to you and only you, bud ??. I'll be more direct next time, I promise! ?????.
22.) 07 Jul 2025 08:37:13
How many transfer errors have we made in the last two years? Cautious often unexpected buys brought in for the right reasons that have improved the squad whilst enhancing and building the team spirit and unity. It’s not easy to keep doing that particularly with the premier league spoils easy to smell. Nice to have left back and goalkeeper sorted next, then the defensive spine of the squad is in place. Patience and trust for a bit longer!
23.) 07 Jul 2025 09:00:06
A good thread here with differing opinions. For me, I expected us being more active than we have, but I aren't panicking yet. I agree with Cork that a sooner than later marquee signing would send out a message to other potential arrivals that we mean business. Here's hoping it is this week.
24.) 07 Jul 2025 11:58:25
Like yer thinking Feath!
25.) 08 Jul 2025 07:00:05
Window didn't open until June, due to PSR we couldn't do much until 1 July. That's 8 days.
26.) 08 Jul 2025 08:41:46
Corkey, that's a good point with regards to other teams needing for recruits than us. But you haven't helped with my jitteryness by point it out. Cheers.
Still hoping that our business has already been set up for later in the window, after the big fish have settled on their forthcoming squads and the rejects are available to us lower in the food chain.
(Based on my idea though it would mean we would have picked up Sargent and Hamer already as we are the bigger fish in those conversations. so, probably wrong again)
27.) 08 Jul 2025 11:33:17
As I read some of these banters you make out the stories coming from people in the know and people who are ardent supporters but lack football knowledge well Alf cupper, and Corkey Are almost on the ball and sense how can you say Sunderland spent over on diarra, because Leeds missed out he plays for country, he started all games for club been in some big games yet you say they overpaid yet on the other hand you had someone like Bellingham, has nt been past Cardiff every time played Leeds did nt get a kick against our own amps, tanaka, but goes to big team for what 30 odd million how much amps and tanaka worth then my big brothers name, now that’s a waste of money.
04 Jul 2025 20:02:53
Getting away from the transfer frenzy apparently Ampadu has only ever score one league goal and that was in Italy. Surprised me I must admit.
1.) 05 Jul 2025 02:34:27
That’s why he is better in defence cork. IMO all midfielders should chip in minimum 3-4 a season. Even defenders 2-3.
2.) 05 Jul 2025 10:17:22
Yes, going forward, a serious flaw. Needs remedying on the training ground. Give him confidence to get forward (at the appropriate time) and try his luck.
3.) 05 Jul 2025 12:47:03
Lads what we got to remember he always played at the back until wales started playing him in midfield so his shooting is way off but the last time we were in premiership we beat Chelsea 3-0 amps killed them that’s his game breaking up play sitting just in front of the backs, but like Corley suggests you would expect a better goal return, especially since he s good in the air aswell, but to state the fact again Leeds must get a set piece coach in because last year Rodin, struik, and amps all in same place for they re runs at ball ball then goes over the top of them and the other side counterattack from there which I just don’t understand why it kept happening we must be coming in one near one middle and one behind but there was nt, any structure to our set pieces or corners or defending corners really poor because we would have scored a lot more goals.
02 Jul 2025 19:08:41
We need proper signings in asap to be ready for pre season even DF said as much. We can't piss about on this. Marquee signings in next couple of weeks badly needed.
GK AM and CF have to be the three big big signings and maybe another wide player. 100 million or thereabouts on those four and we'll all be a happy bunch.
1.) 02 Jul 2025 19:45:22
I said the other week that I reckon the real big names, the front men of the rock band that is Leeds United, will be signed last.
Sign the defence, goalies and midfielders - they're the sure bets that build confidence in a team, the backbone of it.
Then sign the strikers, forward and wingers, the ones who will make people, teams and other managers sit up and notice. Waiting as long as possible gives Leeds more time to catch managers and other teams by surprise.
The recent blocking of fans to Germany and live streaming of matches at the training camp, makes me suspect that there's a big, big name in the mix.
2.) 02 Jul 2025 20:53:04
They be got to come in as soon as possible though as you want them to start bedding in before training and friendly matches to know where we are made a good start but feel we are stuttering a bit like as if can’t get deals over the line, we still have nt spent no money what are we waiting for now psr over get them done also set piece coach be nice lacked that last season, we have signed the players for it this year so far with another 6 ft 4 on the way.
3.) 02 Jul 2025 20:58:01
How does waiting as long as possible give Leeds more time to catch other teams by surprise? Surely it should be the total opposite?
Wait too long and all the better players will be snapped up as Sunderland are showing.
As for signing defenders, a goalkeeper and midfielders first well we’ve signed ONE guaranteed starter for those positions and that’s it!
Also the longer you wait the prices go up generally as other teams know your desperation.
That’s the way I see it Mo.
4.) 02 Jul 2025 21:26:14
We players not egos in dressing room leave it Daniel Farke.
5.) 02 Jul 2025 21:53:02
Corkey, because we're having our talent poached, we keep it under the radar and do the deal on the quite. If we wait, we get to train without others knowing the full details of who is on board, or how they will play. Plus, if the other teams rush to spend their budget, they can't swoop in to stop our bigger buys as PSR hits them hard.
Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think the 49ers are very switched on when it comes to the laws and rules of PSR and how they can use it to their advantage.
6.) 03 Jul 2025 10:51:50
Mo, get the top targets in first. For example if we get in two big signings early on it’s a lot easier to attract other players to come to Leeds. Sunderland beat us to the punch on the Diarra deal I have no doubt. Whether it turns out to be worth the lolly time will tell.
If Diarra has a great season nobody will be saying they overpaid just what a great signing it was.
Start mucking about with too much negotiation with the selling club you run the risk of not getting the player which i believe is what happened with Diarra. Other clubs will be looking at all our targets as well so like Sunderland we have to move quickly.
30 Jun 2025 23:13:29
Just read Alan Peacock's goals record.
Unbelievable stats for back in the day. I always knew his name playing for Leeds but didn't realise the amount of goals he scored in his career. RIP.
1.) 01 Jul 2025 00:45:53
An unforgettable shy legend Corky, he was always left out of the limelight by choice and in today’s climate his name would be on a lot of shirts mate, a true gentleman and a fantastic footballer, gone but never forgotten ?.
2.) 01 Jul 2025 20:19:06
Saw him when he played with Brian Clough at Middlesbrough. Both exceptionally good players but there was only one who was going to be the headliner and it wasn't Alan Peacock. As Clough once commented, "I wouldn't say I was the best manager but I was certainly in the top one".
When Peacock got away from Clough he showed how good he was.
09 Jul 2025 21:53:51
No way! Nowhere near good enough.
09 Jul 2025 21:52:42
So far Leeds are trying to get players on the cheap.
Instead of getting players who they should they are focusing on players near the end of their contract to wrangle a deal and even that’s not working!
I’m getting seriously worried now.
06 Jul 2025 18:00:30
Somebody at the club? That ole chestnut.
05 Jul 2025 23:21:46
Hopefully a marquee signing?
05 Jul 2025 23:20:35
How much was Firpo asking Alf as I never saw any figures?
I doubt he’s getting as much at Betis as he would have at Leeds.
Holding Leeds to ransom are harsh words. More likely he just wanted to return to Spain which is fair enough to me.
10 Jul 2025 19:34:15
There’s pessimism, optimism and realism. I think Wex and myself are in the latter.
We need a marquee signing asap.
09 Jul 2025 21:57:11
Vid mate on what basis have you so much faith?
Already missed out on numerous players for one reason or another.
09 Jul 2025 21:44:48
Let’s put it this way. Before all the Longstaff talk and say Sunderland or Burnley signed him would you be saying they’ve got themselves one good player there and Leeds United missed a great opportunity? ’
Be honest now lads.
09 Jul 2025 20:16:30
Leave him where he is as he’s not worth anymore.
It’s not as if other clubs are knocking down the door to sign him!
08 Jul 2025 17:16:50
Not sure he walks in to the Leeds side? Can’t seen him replacing Tanaka or Amps.
