What about a free agent Alf?
Some rumours about Josh Brownhill possibly?

Cheshire White

1.) 01 Sep 2025 15:08:38
Harry Wilson a go apparently.

2.) 01 Sep 2025 15:16:22
haven't heard anything about Brownhill myself. adding free agents is possible at any time as far as I know.

3.) 01 Sep 2025 15:47:47
SSN just confirmed we are in talks with Fulham for Harry Wilson.

4.) 01 Sep 2025 17:53:10
Brownhill has been in talks with Leicester, Southampton and Wolves. Looking for minimum £100k per week. A free agent so he can wait until after the deadline when deals have fallen through. I'd still take him but with lower wage but a signing on fee.

5.) 01 Sep 2025 20:02:28
Brownhill to Wolves. Done deal.

6.) 02 Sep 2025 12:39:30
Seems Brownhill hasn't gone to Wolves as reported on the Beeb. Sorry for the false info gents. Personally I would take him for us. Good player.

23 Jul 2025 10:55:23
Livakovic, age 30 Croation goal keeper from Fenerbahce for £6 million currently the latest new number one Leeds are linked with. penalty save specialist apparently so could be a decent deal but Lucas Perri also still heavily linked to us but I'd imagine he'd cost at least double that of Livakovic closer to the £15 to 20 million range.

Cheshire White

1.) 23 Jul 2025 14:17:16
Yes totally agree but his age and price wise I think is a must to get perri because we have nt had a tidy goalie since Nigel Martin, and it would be money well spent to just get the deal done.

2.) 23 Jul 2025 16:11:54
Agree JH get Perri.

3.) 23 Jul 2025 16:34:46
Six million! Sign him up. He’s a top keeper and at that price an absolute bargain.

4.) 24 Jul 2025 06:30:33
Get them both. Make them compete for the slot.

Urgently need at least 2 difference makers or I think we're facing almost certain bottom 3 position come the end of the season so I hope whether the Brighton loan comes off or not the owners strike a deal with Leicester involving cash plus Piroe for El Khannouss and also go and get Mitrovic and then we've got some real stardust in the side instead of what someone else remarked atm we've only got sawdust!

Cheshire White

1.) 29 Aug 2025 15:14:31
Wonder when the championship fixtures come out for 26/ 27.

2.) 29 Aug 2025 16:02:13
Buananotte going to Chelsea and Fernandes signed for W Ham. El Khannous release clause was allegedly low £20 millions and now seemingly talking about mid 30's. Not sure where we look now. Same applies to the search for a decent striker. Looking back at Underwood's performance since Perri signed we'll probably end up with Hamer and Sargent. It's getting late and there's a good chance that we'll end up with expensive dross or pay through the nose for somebody half decent as clubs will now we're getting desperate.

3.) 29 Aug 2025 16:32:20
Underwood the clown of premier league recruitment on fairness to Sunderland they might have overpaid a touch bit if it keeps them up fair play
Parag and underwood pinching pennies will relegate the team.

4.) 29 Aug 2025 17:46:05
Sunderland beat West Ham (who are in a complete mess) and lost to Burnley. Why all the praise that they’ve bought so well and the buying will keep them up?

5.) 29 Aug 2025 22:19:06
Well that's good to know Longblastflan.

26 Aug 2025 23:34:00
Even Hamer and KP would improve this side so 5/ 6 days till the window shuts and my God we don't half need our owners to perform a houdini act and sign 2 or 3 gems to get us out of this slump/ malaise and get us all feeling at least half optimistic about our chances of not getting relegated. Glass half empty tonight!

Cheshire White

15 Aug 2025 19:02:25
I can't see Burnley scoring enough goals as their forward options look the weakest so I think they'll be one of the 3 that get relegated but I've a feeling us and Sunderland will be okay so my top and bottom predictions are.
1.MAN CITY
2.CHELSEA
3.ARSENAL
4.NEWCASTLE (If Isak stays otherwise
Livetpool )

16.LEEDS UTD
17.SUNDERLAND
18.WOLVES
19 BRENTFORD
20.BURNLEY.

I think the recruitment up to the Paixou will he won't he saga has been very good after a slow start and now we appear to have hit a brick wall trying to attract the glamour difference making players that I think just hammers home unfortunately that Leeds United at this present moment is not the most attractive destination for a lot of these type of players compared to clubs that have established themselves in the EPL and have European football to tempt new signings or and I suppose this is the hardest pill to swallow you're a Man U Chelsea Man City Spurs Arsenal or Liverpool and sadly Leeds are just not in that big 6 big fish league anymore and it's hard to see them joining it unless the PSR rules are abolished or challenged in law as an unfair restraint of trade by a mega rich owner of a club outside the big 6.

It is so frustrating now to think what a great opportunity was thrown away by Radz and Orta with Bielsa miraculously propelling us into the limelight and being able to attract the likes of a young Raphina who relished the chance to join Leeds under Bielsa's respected leadership and aura which sadly Farke doesn't possess and that's not his fault as not many managers today have that Bielsa aura either.

So what a pity Bielsa wasn't backed more and Radz didn't just acknowledge his limitations after Leeds finishing 9th and their stock high and selling Leeds on so that if Bielsa had just got all the tools he required Leeds may be now sitting at that top table and attracting the glamour players who don't think twice about joining us instead of dismissing us as a relegation candidate and gamble to their
carreer.

It's still possible Leeds can make that journey to the upper echelons of the EPL but an awful lot of hard work is needed aswell as outside contributing influences need to fall our way
too so we as fans can dare to dream that one day just one day Leeds fans can rightfully sing Champions of Europe.

Cheshire White

1.) 06 Aug 2025 10:57:33
100% agree with that Cheshire.
If we are to pick up decent now it will be in last few days of window which is a shame. Think the owners have been a bit taken by surprise how hard it has been to get real quality. Happy with what we have so far. But no more until last day or so of window might see us in nil point at that time.

2.) 06 Aug 2025 11:01:43
Excellent post Cheshire, as a die hard Bielsa fan that 09th place was a magnificent achievement especially with predominantly championship players.

However, the expected workload on the players was not sustainable year on year and it would have required a lot of fresh horses to refuel the tank. That being said, we need to be one of the fittest teams this season in order to plug gaps and maintain the press where needed against the more technically gifted teams.

Farke has been criticised, last season, incredibly as it seems, for being too considered too conservative at times, but that may be an assert this season especially if we find those missing 3/ 4 players for him.

3.) 06 Aug 2025 11:13:23
Great post Chesh
Totally concur
Radz fly's under radar imo with a lot of fans on the negative side of his tenure

Everyone slams Ridsdale and Bates, but Radz has set the club back a lot also

He done very well out of Leeds and his frugality at, as you mentioned a crucial time has really been detrimental to us, coupled with employing the worse D. o. F a club could ever have has been really bad club.

4.) 06 Aug 2025 11:38:08
Nice post Cheshire and whole heartedly agree.

5.) 06 Aug 2025 12:41:32
No owner set back the process of our club further than Ridsdale. He beats that record by a country mile.
Sadly for Radz and us as fans, he was inexperienced and very naive in my opinion.

As regards to our position now, although we should all dream of better times ahead we should be in no doubt that staying up in the Premiership will be a mammouth task, but definitely achievable.
Attracting very good quality players was always going to be a tough call for a newly promoted team to the Premiership. Big names are not coming to our club, only the used up journeymen which are thankfully not on the Leeds United scouting radar. Youth is the way forward for me, as well as players who are under the radar and want to better themselves at our magnificent football club.

As Class has correctly pointed out, Farke was heavily criticized for his perhaps more pragmatic methods last season, for us I think this will be a massive asset for our survival in the Premiership.
Gung-ho tactics by Russell and Kompany were naive at best.
I like how we are going about things, there is an air of optimism that everyone can breathe in. I sense we have a real chance of going forward with this current set up.
We as fans are not going to get want we all want in this transfer window, but what I am sure of is what we will have will give their everything to make it work.

Onwards and Upwards.

6.) 06 Aug 2025 13:20:47
Agree in Peter OP, but fans were saying stop when we were hitting all the highs back then,

Disagree re Andrea, total opposite of naive imo
He portrayed this oh ( I just Florence Nightingale) act whilst all the while he made very big returns ( entitled to )

Then When the inevitable spotlight came he blamed all and sundry

And as Chesh said, not providing a better platform back then had terrible repercussions In following seasons.

7.) 06 Aug 2025 13:57:22
Top post Ches.

8.) 06 Aug 2025 14:24:18
Typo from myself OP

NO FANS were saying stop back then.

9.) 06 Aug 2025 16:04:52
Radz, Orta and Kinnear thought we were better than we were after the brilliant 9th place finish and failed to back Bielsa, who then had to cope with an horrendous injury list the following season. They sacked him and brought in the awful March and got out of jail with the win at Brentford, but despite every man and his dog knowing he wasn't the man to take us forward, they again made a terrible decision to keep him and make some lousy signings to boot, and the rest as they say is history regarding that disastrous relegation season.

10.) 06 Aug 2025 16:21:41
I don’t think there was one Leeds fan who was complaining back in those days because nobody knew Ridsdale was playing his very own Russian roulette with our club. A fan per se is always happy if the owner/ owners are spending like it going out of fashion.
Not for one minute am I glorifying Radrizziani’s short tenure because ultimately he failed. But you have to respect that he did get us to the Premiership after 17 years and we did spend three seasons there. Judging by recent promotions that now seems like a decent effort.
We can all complain till the cows come home but with PSR and all that comes with it, makes longevity in the Premiership after massive hurdle to overcome.
These are not the 80’s, 90’s or 00’s anymore, Ridsdale pretty much sentenced our club to oblivion and the only way back now is like trying to run up a hill with both legs tied together.

Fortunately We Are Leeds, we’ve done before and we’ll do it again, only better this time.

11.) 06 Aug 2025 17:54:47
Good post OP, Ridsdale nearly signed our death warrant.

How we managed to survive is nothing short of miraculous.

12.) 06 Aug 2025 18:44:02
In a very, very Leedsy way Cleggy, from Bates, to the only potless Arab investors in GFH, David Haigh et al and credit where it’s due, as without the craziest veg man of all Mr Cellino we may have actually gone under.

However, much we bemoan now, in reality we’ve never had it so good ?.

13.) 06 Aug 2025 19:18:07
Cellino actually did save us,
Radz 3 seasons tenure was horrific for 2 so I wouldn't be using that as a yard stick of slight success OP
I provided links down through seasons of hefty payments enjoyed by his companies, and ultimately a nice pay day also when he sold up

So Leeds Utd was a lot better to Mr Radrizzani than Mr Radrizzani was too Leeds.

14.) 06 Aug 2025 20:48:48
End End of the day for I don't think rads had a clue about football and he listened for to much to arta he should have sack not MR MARCELO BIELSA but its DANIEL FARKE LEEDS UNITED I think 49ers have done and doing a brilliant job but need push boat out now and get these few players over line mot to all.

15.) 07 Aug 2025 07:00:31
What Mally said! Onwards and upwards is the only focus!

28 Jul 2025 18:09:22
So after all that waiting will he won't he and those on here thinking he would well unfortunately Paixou has agreed to join Marseille and Feyenord have accepted their increased offer. So now what will Leeds do?
Go after someone else or hope they can bring Solomon back?

Cheshire White

1.) 28 Jul 2025 18:36:17
Well we know its rubbish he would have been a nice game changer but I can’t believe they outbid us I think he wanted Marseille and his agents and him have done the deal, but never mind according to form they ve a couple lined up apparently so let’s hope we get someone just as good in I would like us to stay away from muniz . And go back in for kristovic, as he s really good and cheaper but if you watch bits of him he s some player.

With all due respect to Alf posting about the club possibly being at their PSR limit like Bushy said I don't buy that for one second and believe it's a weak excuse to deflect from themselves effing up the window and breaking their own promise to fully back Farke in the way Norwich didn't back Farke in his previous EPL campaigns.

Also even if PSR is anywhere close to being an issue try paying your greedy selves and your greedy investors a little less. No I don't expect them to do that.

They are playing us for fools imo if they expect Leeds fans to believe anything other than it was 100% their own incompetence that has us going into the rest of the season on a wing and a prayer that our injury prone forward line can not only stay fit but also are good enough to come up with the goals required from what looks like will be a limited in EPL quality creativity supply.

Tbh Alf Hamer's'an improvement on what we have with Aeronson, Gruev, Piroe etc but a sad indictment of the abilities of our recruitment team. KP and Sargent next I wouldn't be at all surprised.

That's 5 more games Alf so I can only see 3 points max which would be 6 points from 7 games.

Not great but still just about on course for safety but then I suppose if we take bad beatings against Newcastle, Fulham, Bournemouth and Spurs I can see why he will be replaced.

But who with?

Other than Dyche lurking in the background I'm not sure Nuno if he's available and Ange would fancy us but maybe the chosen one could be persuaded for a King's ransom?

Would love a Bielsa return but can't see that either unfortunately.

I think with 10 new additions and those that have left we only have space for two more signings that takes us up to the allowed 25 man squad rules of the EPL.

If Solomon comes in which feels extremely likely then that so called Marquee signing and saving the best till last will be?

I've no idea either.

Yes Berm you are quite correct that the gap has widened significantly so the clubs I've mentioned have built year on year and got their feet well and truly under the table but they also lose star players each year and still manage to replace those players and keep themselves comfortably mid table which comes down to their recruitment and forward thinking approach in regards to the money they receive from player sales is reinvested on quality not average quantity and injury prone players.

These so called smaller in status clubs to Leeds demonstrate with actions not soundbites, astute and well researched recruitment across the wider football world unlike our lot who have sadly demonstrated a short sighted penny pinching approach that I and others suspect is for the benefit of themselves and their investors.

Time will tell the full consequences of our insufficient creative quality summer transfer dealings and I'm still hopeful Farke can find a way to make the players he does have more productive and clinical in front of goal but if he isn't able to do so and a new man comes in with a similar outcome I think it's chystal clear where the blame lies.

Correct the owners are playing us and Farke for mugs and the sooner they sell up and ship out the better.

When you compare how smaller in status and fan base clubs like Bournemouth and Brentford have a far superior, forward thinking and knowledgeable ownership model than Leeds it's quite depressing the way our beloved club is just seen as a rinsing opportunity by parasitical corporate b. s. merchants.

Feels like the stars are alligning and it's meant to be and Nuno will succeed DF before the next International break or Leeds will dither and West Ham will nip in if Potter goes on another losing run.

Unless DF can exceed expectations and get a good points haul in the next 4 games so at least get 5 points then maybe the 49ers will hold fire but I just don't have too much confidence in Farke setting us up well in our away games and two bad defeats against Fulham and Wolves could be enough for the owners to act?

I know I've tried really tried to not slag off WSL but it's almost impossible to not compare the standard to a 12 year old schoolboys level at best and it's quite laughable how broadcasters try to make out the standard is elite.

The standard of the WSL is very poor indeed with a sprinkling of individuals that have some nice skills but as a team they mostly all look lost and swamped by the scale of a full size pitch and goals and imo it's extremely unfair the WSL footballers salaries dwarf EFL league one two and non league men's salaries by a crazy chasm. It is totally unmerited.

It's great woman can enjoy, appreciate and participate in the beautiful game and long may that continue but I can never see the women's game ever climbing out of the very poor standard compared to the men's game.

No problem with female presenters in the mens game who are very knowledgeable and all that but again female pundits and female commentators in the men's game spoil it for me.

It's not probably going to happen as wokism and box ticking is sadly part of today's modern society but I so wish the constant ramming down our throats in your face, undeserved and over hyping up of the WSL would go away and stop being what is "The Emperor's Clothes" stuff.

But hey if you think otherwise and think it deserves equal billing and exposure as the men's game then I suppose we'll have to respectfully agree to disagree.

Don't see why not Corkey as long as when the accounts are submitted next June, everything is within the acceptable loss amount so yes splash a bit more now and look to off load a couple of players later but I think the offloading bit would have to be in January because the next transfer window is in July after the accounts have to be sorted.
