Bewildered with the line up to be honest. Either DF has been partying far too hard at BA’s house for Hogmanay, or he’s going to produce a managerial masterclass, and get a great away performance at anfield. DCL, Bogle and Ao all on at once and blow them away?
1.) 01 Jan 2026 19:34:58
Need to rotate with this many games close together.
2.) 01 Jan 2026 20:13:56
C&J…. I guess it was a masterclass!
3.) 01 Jan 2026 20:36:32
Great rotation, and effective tactical tweaks to go along with them! Well done Farkey!
4.) 01 Jan 2026 20:51:56
Was counting on Liverpool tiring in the last 30 mins and the performance dropping off. Good tactics shame they didn't quite get us all 3 but a point will do nicely.
5.) 01 Jan 2026 20:52:35
About time DF started utilising his squad?
Four games in ten days so it literally had to be done.
6.) 01 Jan 2026 21:24:08
Yes we were not pretty to watch but very effective in keeping Liverpools attackers relatively quiet, I felt they lacked that killer instinct to take this game and so therefore it meant that Farke and his players could force a draw out of this game.
I thought we remained disciplined at the back and made few errors, could have even got a cheeky winner had DCL not been just offside.
We didn’t really trouble Liverpool from an attacking sense so with the resting of a few of our players the intention was to try and force a point and a clean sheet.
I wouldn’t consider this as a masterclass from Farke and his staff but they are definitely trying to find a way to make sure we don’t get relegated by the end of this season.
Which is the sole objective in my opinion.

They say fashion goes round in a circle. 2 big lads up front, 3 at the back, with 2 wing backs getting up and down the pitch, long throw ins, taking a shot from outside the box, some good fair crunching tackles, smiley badges on football jerseys. 3 deserved points and entertaining the masses. Get in about Liverpool in the same manner please.

First class performance and great result. DF stuck with the formation we all hoped he would, and it paid off big time. More of the same against Liverpool. Sod possession based negative football and give us more of that. Well done all.

If Willy is fit, I would start him, James on the other wing and put Okafor through the middle. Possibly 3 at the back, with GG and JB wing backs, and get BA in the dressing room peeling the oranges for half time.
1.) 09 Nov 2025 09:44:26
Second that CandJ. I said a few days ago that I'd try that pairing Okafor with DCL as the front of a 4:4:2 lineup, and Nmecha instead of DCL is an alternative. Think 3 at the back might be a bit risky if Chris Wood is back fit tho.
I'd go with the regular back 4, Willy, Longstaff, Stach and DJ in the middle rank and Okafor with Nmecha up front.
2.) 09 Nov 2025 11:01:12
Willy, Longstaff. ?.
3.) 09 Nov 2025 16:16:07
Sounds like the name of the star in a porn video don't it. ?.
4.) 09 Nov 2025 16:37:10
That would certainly look a lot different if available C&J think Amps is the key player, he’s clearly the captain and the player that dictates tempo, he was far from his normal level at Brighton and consequently he predominantly played slow, backwards or sideways.
Need bravery today, Florists are a team short of confidence and will be desperate to get out of the bottom three, six points to date shows they are clearly beatable, but can we get the mindset right, time will tell.
No score prediction I just embarrass myself.

The games against Fulham, Bournemouth and yesterday against spurs all come down to not taking our chances. We miss too many chances that the opposition don’t. We had more attempts on target than Bournemouth and spurs did, and had the same as Fulham had, yet we have came away with 1 point from these 3 games. DCL is a handful in the air, but he’s missing bundles of chances. Although BA had a shot on target that Òkafor tapped in, that’s his total offensive contribution. DF is as stubborn or loyal to him as he was with Meslier in goal. He clearly doesn’t think Bijol is up to replacing pascal, similar to his refusal to give Rama a chance in the championship. Longstaff has been a plus. More forward thinking than I expected. Midfield in general too negative for me, but that’s how DF likes it. Was Bogle injured yesterday? If not, why take him off on89th minute? Get him up the field Daniel. Where’s Willy?
1.) 05 Oct 2025 18:39:16
Not sure if Bogle was injured C&J, but I would have taken him off way before 89 minutes, he was poor (relatively) yesterday. He seldom tried to take his man on and his crosses were all poor.
I don’t buy the continued Farke stubborn narrative. He didn’t play Rama because Solomon and Firpo was ripping it up every game. Who’s going to start ahead of Aaronson really? Gnonto and James are injured.
2.) 05 Oct 2025 20:08:05
Ani, I'd prefer Harrison over BA. Those dozen minutes he was on left wing until Noah went off, him and Bogle looked more of a threat down the right than the whole game.
3.) 05 Oct 2025 20:36:50
Granted it wasn’t his finest game for us ani, but I thought taking him off a minute before injury time was a strange substitution, hence I assumed he had picked up a knock on his injured foot again. It must be loyalty with DF then. As for who should start ahead of BA, I think and have said numerous times I would have Bogle there and Justin into right back. Just purely on Bogle’s usual decent attacking ability, coupled with his defensive skills getting back to help Justin when needed. I think it’s worth trying. I know DJ and Willy are both injured, but what’s Willy’s injury and what timescale we looking at for him returning? As I said in my previous post, it’s the missed chances that’s the problem. We are more than matching our opponents. Here’s hoping it will start clicking and we start banging in the chances we create.
4.) 05 Oct 2025 21:03:02
C&J, that’s a good call re Bogle and Justin, likewise ILK’s suggestion is a decent shout. I’m no particular fan of BA, other than for his nuisance value. He did lose the ball a lot yesterday to be fair, but it’s his scatterbrained effort that sometimes pays off, e. g. his shot yesterday and likewise the suicide pass to DCL against Wolves that led to Stach’s free kick.
I thought a few were off colour yesterday, but they all tried very hard and I genuinely thought we would get something from the game (we deserved to) .
I understand Gnonto might be back after the international break.
5.) 05 Oct 2025 22:20:46
Interesting you mentioned Harrison Koch.
I said during the game when we were slowly passing the ball around waiting for the red carpet to be rolled out for us 'look the only one making runs into space with purpose is the Bielsa boy'.
I was annoyed by our slow pace when chasing the game.
6.) 06 Oct 2025 14:54:27
Farke said Willi's problem was "just a calf strain" and that he will "return to training soon".

Great knowledge JR. Martin Chivers was a top class centre forward. What would he be worth nowadays?! Sad to hear of his passing too.
10 Jan 2026 15:40:46
Lovely story JR. I was lucky enough to meet him in 1974, when we were the top team. I remember him putting souness in his place in a match in the early days too. Terry, Jordan and Gordon all came through together. Wonderful footballer and man.
21 Dec 2025 08:35:04
Yes Aus. Top performance and result. I must admit, when I saw the line up, I wasn’t sure, and we started playing out from the back early on, sideways, back passing. BA instead of Ao, I’m not confident. And Rodon pushing up on the right?! Then it just clicked.
BA has his best game in a white shirt, and what can you say about DCL? For a while I thought we had signed Billy Paynter again, now they’re talking about him going to the World Cup. He’s playing out of his skin.
And I was thinking Amps needs to up his game and be a more inspirational captain, well he’s certainly doing that, and getting a goal into the bargain. I don’t know what happened after that first half at man. City, but it’s night and day. If it’s down to Daniel Farke solely, then he’s upping his coaching standards by a country mile. Whatever it is, long may it continue. Pleasure to watch us playing football like this. Well done to them all for turning it around.
09 Dec 2025 17:28:46
I think if we were offered 3 points from man. city away and Chelsea and Liverpool at home, we would have bitten off the hand. So to get 4 points, and very unlucky not to get 5 points, albeit ourselves getting a late equaliser, is a great return. But along with the points, it’s the manner in which we have played in those games that’s the thing. Full of passion and inspirational performances all over the pitch. We have to continue in the same vein, especially away from home.
Let’s see how it goes away at Brentford. Now opti Vid wasn’t the only one shouting for Dan to get his pansy potters, like I posted a few days ago, we’re all fickle, not just Leeds United fans. You only have to look at Liverpool just now, and the amount of fans asking for slot to get the boot. I would say that only you apart haven’t advocated that Dan gets sacked, but remember if it was up to you, meslier would still be our goalkeeper.
07 Dec 2025 18:10:43
I think he could Bri. He’s also a good striker of a ball. Definitely has the ability. What about Willy G? Linking with the front two. He can also strike a decent shot. Just needs to stay fit.
