The games against Fulham, Bournemouth and yesterday against spurs all come down to not taking our chances. We miss too many chances that the opposition don’t. We had more attempts on target than Bournemouth and spurs did, and had the same as Fulham had, yet we have came away with 1 point from these 3 games. DCL is a handful in the air, but he’s missing bundles of chances. Although BA had a shot on target that Òkafor tapped in, that’s his total offensive contribution. DF is as stubborn or loyal to him as he was with Meslier in goal. He clearly doesn’t think Bijol is up to replacing pascal, similar to his refusal to give Rama a chance in the championship. Longstaff has been a plus. More forward thinking than I expected. Midfield in general too negative for me, but that’s how DF likes it. Was Bogle injured yesterday? If not, why take him off on89th minute? Get him up the field Daniel. Where’s Willy?
1.) 05 Oct 2025 18:39:16
Not sure if Bogle was injured C&J, but I would have taken him off way before 89 minutes, he was poor (relatively) yesterday. He seldom tried to take his man on and his crosses were all poor.
I don’t buy the continued Farke stubborn narrative. He didn’t play Rama because Solomon and Firpo was ripping it up every game. Who’s going to start ahead of Aaronson really? Gnonto and James are injured.
2.) 05 Oct 2025 20:08:05
Ani, I'd prefer Harrison over BA. Those dozen minutes he was on left wing until Noah went off, him and Bogle looked more of a threat down the right than the whole game.
3.) 05 Oct 2025 20:36:50
Granted it wasn’t his finest game for us ani, but I thought taking him off a minute before injury time was a strange substitution, hence I assumed he had picked up a knock on his injured foot again. It must be loyalty with DF then. As for who should start ahead of BA, I think and have said numerous times I would have Bogle there and Justin into right back. Just purely on Bogle’s usual decent attacking ability, coupled with his defensive skills getting back to help Justin when needed. I think it’s worth trying. I know DJ and Willy are both injured, but what’s Willy’s injury and what timescale we looking at for him returning? As I said in my previous post, it’s the missed chances that’s the problem. We are more than matching our opponents. Here’s hoping it will start clicking and we start banging in the chances we create.
4.) 05 Oct 2025 21:03:02
C&J, that’s a good call re Bogle and Justin, likewise ILK’s suggestion is a decent shout. I’m no particular fan of BA, other than for his nuisance value. He did lose the ball a lot yesterday to be fair, but it’s his scatterbrained effort that sometimes pays off, e. g. his shot yesterday and likewise the suicide pass to DCL against Wolves that led to Stach’s free kick.
I thought a few were off colour yesterday, but they all tried very hard and I genuinely thought we would get something from the game (we deserved to) .
I understand Gnonto might be back after the international break.
5.) 05 Oct 2025 22:20:46
Interesting you mentioned Harrison Koch.
I said during the game when we were slowly passing the ball around waiting for the red carpet to be rolled out for us 'look the only one making runs into space with purpose is the Bielsa boy'.
I was annoyed by our slow pace when chasing the game.
6.) 06 Oct 2025 14:54:27
Farke said Willi's problem was "just a calf strain" and that he will "return to training soon".
14 Sep 2025 18:35:54
Not once have I said Farke should be replaced. Not last season when we stuttered, or some wanted him given his jotters before this season started. I thought, he’s earned his shot at the premiership, and deserves a chance. But if he continues to persist on playing BA and having a 6’4” player taking corner kicks, (what’s that all about?! ) then that’s enough for me.
1.) 14 Sep 2025 18:55:27
Kane took corners for England, Declan rice takes them for arsenal and they score the most from set pieces. Think you always put your best set piece taker on your set pieces, in my opinion.
2.) 14 Sep 2025 18:58:44
Aaronson a total mystery to me as is dropping Gnonto who at least has looked dangerous without any goals or assists.
Looks like DF is playing not to concede and HOPEFULLY nick a goal. That’s relegation stuff.
3.) 14 Sep 2025 19:25:17
After four games, nothing from open play.
Are loans still a possibility, or is that it until the Jan window?
Anyone but a Villa striker, as they're the the only team in the league on zero goals.
Dick Emery might be on the slippery slope.
But, if you use that much hair oil, on you're own head be it.
Does anyone think we can go 4-2-3-1 a bit more often, with a shift to 4-3-3 out of possession?
Of course that would mean having a creator in the 10. Could Okafor play there?
Or Willy, with NO/ JH/ DJtake your pick, either side?
Rotate/ shuffle Stach, Amps, Longstaff, Tanaka, Gruev. oh, hold on. too many CM's.
DNA my backside!
MOT, proudly back to the Champo.
In fact, is Champo an out of contract Uruguayan striker? Sign him up!
{Ed001's Note - no loans, but you can sign out of contract players, so long as they were free agents before the window closed in England.}
4.) 14 Sep 2025 19:30:02
LAD2, It was equally mystifying and generally criticised when Kane had his corner bout for England, and rightly so IMHO.
Rice seems OK swinging them in, but I think he's in the closet, as he's no Outswinger.
I'll get me flag.
5.) 14 Sep 2025 19:33:13
I can forgive playing arronson to some degree. He did slow down their winger, even if he offered no outlet for Bogle.
Gnonto looked like a scared child on the pitch.
I can't forgive the like for like subs though. We went into defence mode when okafor came off, doubly so when James was injured.
Why did we persist with 4-3-3 and not drop to 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 with bijol and JJ coming on?
Very bizarre.
6.) 14 Sep 2025 19:51:29
Huge farke fan however even I can’t argue with each of those points.
7.) 14 Sep 2025 20:42:22
Gnonto was on the pitch for SIX minutes mate.
8.) 15 Sep 2025 09:56:07
Totally agree re Wiily, Corkster!
31 Aug 2025 09:03:45
3 points would have been brilliant, but I’m sure most are happy with the point and a clean sheet. I still hope we can sign hamer, whether loan to buy, or just sign him outright.
I’m sure he can be that pablo type creator for us that we clearly need. I think DCL will be a handful for opposition defenders once he gets his fitness back and up to speed. DJ a bit underwhelming at the moment, not looking like the player of the season from last year.
1.) 31 Aug 2025 09:10:25
Better quality defenders, return from injury, and maybe a bit of psychology to boot with DJ, I reckon.
2.) 31 Aug 2025 10:08:01
I agree bright with psychology with DJ. He’s obviously got the ability first and foremost. But I think Dan is the type of player that the coach puts his arm around, rather the type of player that reacts to a rollicking. Is manor coming back?
3.) 31 Aug 2025 10:23:40
With Everton and Newcastle it shows we have the ability to stop teams in their tracks with our hardworking midfield and solid defence.
I won't hear a word of pundits saying we only played well because Everton and Newcastle were half a team. Sorry, but Newcastle are a CL team, even at half power they are better than two thirds of the league. They were crap because we boxed them in.
28 Aug 2025 21:44:32
Now we have JJ. Get Jayden into midfield. Will get goals, fittest man in our team, will get back to help defence and will link well with Willy G.
1.) 28 Aug 2025 22:59:43
Not a bad idea. I thought last year we should have tried Firpo as an attacking midfielder, think he could be good freed from the defensive duties that he's not very good at.
2.) 29 Aug 2025 00:26:32
That is a really good idea c&j, but only a few managers will have the guts to try something like that. Bogle has plenty of pace, and can beat a man, why not try it for a half, and change it if it’s not working. Tomorrow would be an ideal time due to the injury situation.
3.) 29 Aug 2025 01:58:37
Didn’t Bogle actually start out as a wide player while at Derby?
4.) 29 Aug 2025 05:08:59
I think Bogle is our best player currently .
I would be very tempted to play him right midfield definitely. Maybe Harrison left - both got good work rate.
5.) 29 Aug 2025 06:29:53
Why not try it for a half? Answer. Mr Farke is why not. He will be having daytime shivers hearing try something different idea.
6.) 29 Aug 2025 07:26:49
Mick I think it’s certainly worth a try. And JR going by your previous posts, you more than most will remember The Don was a master at changing players original positions. He did it with several players. And you’re 100% correct on Firpo. We missed a big trick there, not playing him further up the field. So many posters on here said when he left they will miss his runs and crosses down the left side creating numerous chances. I don’t recall any saying they will miss him for his defensive attributes.
7.) 29 Aug 2025 11:00:05
Agreed C&J I'm 76 and so saw the whole of the Revie era, and agree that the Don was great at changing players positions. TC was bought as a winger and turned into a world class LB, Paul Madely filled so many roles I can't remember where he started. Happy days!
8.) 29 Aug 2025 11:09:45
No chance of any of the above happening under Farke the creative destroyer! ???.
9.) 29 Aug 2025 14:21:04
Everyone was complaining before about round pegs going into square holes. Now that we have properly reinforced the squad so that players can play in their preferred positions, still folk ain’t happy.
Although Tanaka and Amps are out, we still have Stach, Longstaff and Gruev, admittedly the latter two are not performing to their potential but how are they going to by sitting on the bench?
Which way is it because I’d really like to know?
You are coming across as another WUM Dave, you would’ve loved Baz, or are you?
29 Mar 2025 17:44:40
We were actually signing mes’ praises, penalty save, looking solid, then he does that!
Can hardly comprehend how many points a goalkeeper can cost his team in one season.
Unlike the other two top sides, whose goalkeepers have actually saved points for them this season. Indefensible now.
We had 8 cup finals as of 3pm today, draws don’t count. Lost the first cup final today. Too many bottlers in the team. Farke needs to put up a sign on the home dressing room door saying no bottlers allowed in. How many will walk through the door? Conceding in the 96th minute from our throw in sums it up. Sphincters are twitching.
1.) 29 Mar 2025 18:31:46
I am the first to defend him but you can’t keep making mistakes but not just mistakes but howlers, I see us dropping to 3rd both Burnley and Sheffield will draw to keep us in 3 rd place so playoffs it will be.
2.) 29 Mar 2025 20:24:39
Fully agree.

Chris are you sure? The silence is suspicious! ?
Also RM always reminds me on Nick Knowles for some reason. Always expected him to produce a guitar on the sidelines.
06 Oct 2025 21:49:52
OP. He’s now became available due to being sacked for making such a pigs ear of a team that’s in a league with only 2 teams competing for the title every season. Already 11 points adrift of Celtic. So therefore that’s the league title already wrapped up. After only 7 games being played. He didn’t exactly set the heather on fire with Southampton in the premiership last season either. I’m not sure if you’re extracting the urine or being serious? If it’s the former, I never knew you had such a decent sense of humour. That’s a proper thigh slapper. Almost lifted the gloom of the spurs defeat that did.

Dave you said that to your Mrs. I’ve been harping on here for weeks now about moving JB into right advanced position and JJ into right back. Clearly DF doesn’t read our posts. I like pascal but was he just unlucky not blocking both or one of their goals, or is it that he is lacking in agility and speed? Am I the only one who thinks Rodon missed a complete sitter? I know that the keeper came out flapping, but keep your eye on the ball and it’s an open goal. Same with DCL’s missed chances last week, if we give opposition those chances, including Rodon’s missed header today, they always seem to put them away.
29 Sep 2025 16:39:50
Just to clarify vid, you saying we have 3 people excluding DF who are in charge of set pieces?! And until longstaff took them on Saturday, we deployed a 6’4” player to take them previously. Amazing. That can’t be right surely? Exactly what badges are required for that role? Answers on a postcard to game for a laugh.
