Perri on the bench. Big call but not surprising.

I don't think there's a lot of cash to splash around unless we sell a couple of players such as Piroe, Willie G, Pascal? The likes of Larsen are too expensive so we'll end up in the loan market where there are some good players to be picked up, especially if we agree to an obligation to buy if we stay up. We've just done some good loan business with Buannanotte.
Desai is still available and there's a bit of chatter about Lang who was on the radar a few years back. He's having a tough time at Napoli. I don't know whether Farke wants an out and out centre forward or whether he is happy to play with a mobile winger alongside DCL.

As Mo said on the 14th, Leeds are keeping any transfer activity close to their chest. Buannanotte came out of nowhere but when you look back on it he wasn't getting any game time at Chelsea we were keen in the Summer.
Harvey Elliott is another good player but he's stuck in limbo because he's already played for two clubs.
Hopefully there will be another couple of rabbits pulled out of the hat before the end of the month.

Hope so dun. Def and striker of quality and we start moving up the table. Willing to forgo a gk if he plays Darlow.

Lots of comments about Harrison off to join Solomon at Florentina. Loan with an option to buy.
Thought Manor would have given his new club the heads up.
1.) 13 Jan 2026 13:22:59
Weird eh. Why would they want a player not as good as sol. Oh well. Sell sell sell.
2.) 13 Jan 2026 18:01:23
There must a reason Spurs didn't pick Solomon in the EPL Aus. Everyone has their level; we actually do not know how good Solomon would have been in the EPL, other than Spurs didn't think he was good enough.

Maresca and Amorin have gone. Rosenoir seems very confident he is the man to change Chelsea's fortunes but he's not the first one to take that job with the same belief. All his predecessors have virtually fallen away because they haven't achieved enough or can't cope with the interference from the owners. We'll see whether he sees out his six and a half year contract. They'll either be a very successful club within a couple of years or he'll be a very rich man.
Solskjaer is maybe coming back as interim manager. Once again, United can't get off the same treadmill.
Liverpool had the right attitude for many years with a succession plan but clubs don't seem to do it nowadays. I hope Keith Andrews succeeds at Brentford as that is passing on the baton.
Nuno is under pressure and the loss at Wrexham won't do him any favours and Thomas Frank is not taking Spurs where they want to be.
So we have Thomas Farke. He's won the Championship after an exhilarating season, is working with a relatively limited budget and has now unexpectedly found a way to make us difficult to play against.
The "bigger"teams chop and change but they usually don't achieve what they want.
I like Farke. He's not perfect and makes some odd substitutions at times but I think he's part of a group that is very united and hopefully will keep us up and stay on to consolidate our position in the Premiership for many years to come.
1.) 10 Jan 2026 22:52:15
Don't think Forests loss at Wrexham will affect West Hams manager Dunelm, must have been in a time warp ?.
2.) 11 Jan 2026 00:02:20
Thomas Farke? Is that a new manager?
3.) 11 Jan 2026 03:04:14
Apparently they are identical twins. Thomas was in charge first 12 games and then they swapped and nobody was none the wiser. One of the mysteries of the world uncovered.

I think the point about hiring and firing coaches in the Premiership is a very valid one.
A coach today in top flight football is the most expendable person at any given club. Although he is paid very well but no where near what some footballers receive, his existence from day one hangs literally by a thread
A football coach’s contract at a club can be terminated sometimes in a matter of weeks with the what it seems, extreme demands by owners and fans.
Personally I find it ridiculous how a coach can implement his ideas to his players and that's quite often, not with the players he has contracted, then get instant results from his barely used methods.
For me any new coach should be given a minimum of two full seasons before being judged and assessed, you can double that amount of time at a elite club.
Sadly in todays climate of instant success, coach’s are left with little to zero time to applicate their methods and nurture a team of players to become a more successful team than they were.
The heavy demands for success at both Chelsea and Man United has proven in recent times that hiring and firing their coach’s simply isn’t working.
Why they can’t see that to me is very curious, Man united have been more generous in the time they have given their managers but I still think it’s not enough, especially at an elite club.
When does it finally sink in when season after season by just throwing what translates, another lamb to the slaughter, that you actually realize that your coach/ manager needs more time to reach success.
5.) 11 Jan 2026 07:56:40
For me and I registered this opinion a few seasons ago. Pre Farke I think. A coach should not have a set contract. It should be annually and dependant on realistic games won a points achieved.
6.) 11 Jan 2026 08:27:17
I'm with OP on this. The classic example being Sir Alex, who was on the brink of the chop half a season into his tenure. Who knows what might have happened had they followed thro with that.
The biggest jokers right now are the Celtic crew, who didn't even give Nancy enough time to properly educate his players on his playing system.
7.) 11 Jan 2026 10:32:19
Ferguson is a rarity. That was one lucky man. And lucky for them. That Dosent often happen.
8.) 11 Jan 2026 14:03:10
Didn't say otherwise Aus, but as with Don, it shows what stability can bring. There's a long list if you think about it.
15 Jan 2026 16:43:07
Don't think we'll get a new keeper Aus. Think it will be Perri and Darlow as first two choices, but not necessarily in that order.
15 Jan 2026 13:13:56
Should be a good signing and gives us more options. Just need a striker and. CB and that will be a good window.
15 Jan 2026 08:34:18
It will end up with the usual option to buy which won't be taken up. JH earns more than any current Florentina player and we will end up subsidising his wages. The club is in chaos. The new manager sacked before Christmas and not much improvement under Vanoli. Currently in the relegation zone.
13 Jan 2026 17:53:46
Moffi is at a tribunal on Thursday with his legal team arguing that his contract should be terminated on personal safety grounds as he and some other players were assaulted by Nice fans in November when the team bus was attacked. Don't think he's played or even trained since then.
12 Jan 2026 17:07:24
Nwaneri of interest to Bournemouth who just lost Semenyo. He might want to stay at the Emirates but he's well down the pecking order and I'm sure Arteta would like to get him out, even if it's to put him in the shop window. There's a lot of pure profit in some of the second string Arsenal players.
17 Jan 2026 17:21:28
A few weeks ago we suddenly found a way of playing that made us more of an attacking threat and difficult to beat. Watching most of the Manchester derby today it appeared that getting rid of Amorin has lifted a weight off the player's shoulders and they played as though they were enjoying it on the park. Always good to get one over on Pep.
15 Jan 2026 19:33:11
He looked like a nailed on signing last Summer but it's difficult when you're a 20/ 21 year old and Chelsea make a last minute approach and you have an agent whispering in you ear. We all make mistakes and this is one of his. However, he was initially keen to come to Leeds, the Club were still keen on him and both parties were happy to shake hands.
Hopefully he has a great second half of the season and we have an option to buy, but I don't think that's likely as I think Brighton still thing they can integrate him into their squad.
15 Jan 2026 10:12:43
Who wants him at his current wages and his level of performance over the last three years or so? Unless he takes a big hit on his salary and we let him go for a small fee then he'll be loaned out for the next three years with an option to buy (which won't be taken up) and Leeds making a significant contribution to his wages.
12 Jan 2026 19:40:30
Conspiracy theories. You'll be saying next that referees don't like Leeds. ?.
12 Jan 2026 17:12:32
Pace is great but you need to have the end result and Okafor only shows glimpses of what we hoped he could do. I've always liked Willie G for his enthusiasm and commitment and hope we can find a slot for him to play on a more regular basis. He's done ok the last few games.
