Spurs couldn't deal with the fast transition play of BG.
Lots of balls to feet in the box had spurs defenders panicking.
Archie came on and made a couple of excellent runs into box, one of which created the equalizer (his shot deflected onto Richarlison and into net) .

Great interview with Rafa Benitez in today's Daily Telegraph, in which he says he wants to coach in England again. If, we do end up giving DF his P45, we could do a hell of a lot worse than him as a replacement.

Ramazani has struggled last season to convince Farke they 1/ He has confidence and 2/ Consistency.
In what order if any his deficiencies come in it’s clear that he’s not displaying the qualities to merit a first team place. Fans can moan all they want but Farke and his training staff see him every day and there must be something with his football that's not working out.
Farke has mentioned already that Ramazani is a well liked player by everyone and his work rate is positively notable.
The fact that he has no buy clause in his loan contract proves that Farke would love him to come back at the end of this season as a greatly improved player.
I seriously doubt there will be any recall whether it’s in his contract or not.
Same goes for Joseph.

49ers see ramz as decent player, Joseph they see as a player who they feel is worth more than what was offered. Hoping a good season in Spain will boost his sale value and if he has a great Season they get a young kid full of confidence again. Win win.

Ramazani has the best Goals and assist: minutes ratio in the league.
It's not about consistency, or lack of tracking back, it's about Ramazani not fitting in the strict mould that Farke wants.
Rightly or wrongly, he's the manager and called the shots.
Evans gave the game away though when he said Ramazani was "well liked by the board", not "well liked by the club/ manager". Rama and Farke have had a falling out.
Just like how guillovogi ended his future at Leeds when he sprayed Farke with champagne.

Looking to the future, that Russian AM Spertsyan seemed open to a move to the PL, but just not now. May be an idea to keep in touch with him and send off a draft proposal, naybe we could recruit him in January. Of the free agents that are available, Josh Brownhill looks a reasnable prospect. Today is August 18th. My first game at Elland Rd was a season opener against Everton, which we won 5:1, Harry Brook scored a hat trick, and the great John Charles scored the first of his 38 goals that season, which made him Div 1 top scorer.

From a purely football standpoint I've got some sympathy with your views Cleggy, but from a geopolitical standpoint I much prefer the mosaic of little friendly countries like Latvia etc than the old Soviet Union that Vlad the invader is trying to reinstate. BTW I will be watching the game - not a fan of all-in mud wrestling.

Agreed OP. Somewhere I've got a copy of the rules of the game from about the 1990s when FIFA still owned them, and one word that comes up again and again in the handball rule is "intentional". We must get back the concept of intent, and stop giving pens like the one against Amps that are clearly accidental, and also get rid of all that crap about arms being in an "unnatural" position.
