Not a big fan of loans unless loan to buy, and really not a follower of dross press rumours, but possibilities of Gilmour and William's LB both being loaned out, both areas of interest, both young, and will free cash for other positions, AM, Winger, Back up CF

1.) 23 Jun 2021 22:28:24
Yes and no I guess.
If market is low in some countries due to c.v. or TV issues then the player we want could be much cheaper now than next year actually making the loan work out expensive.
I'm sure we will find out soon as it will all be done in a week allegedly!

28 Feb 2021 12:50:16
How can Fulham have 6 loan signings, I always thought there was a max allowed in Prem league.

{Ed002's Note - The PL rules are for loans of PL players - so international loans are not included in the quota. It is a matter that has been discussed previously (because of Watford and the players from Torino) and is on the table to be discussed again.}

13 Jan 2021 13:01:30
Leeds lookin to sell Rafa Mujiica, another Orta Gem.

1.) 13 Jan 2021 14:41:25
Yep money well spent.

Jay Roy Grot another waste - 1.4m he cost us. Well done Orta.

2.) 15 Jan 2021 09:01:51
Well maybe if you two would have lent him your crystal balls eh, many young lads show potential early then fade off ( jack clarke) one example. The point is if he had passed up on these players and they had come good you would be on his case saying why didn’t you sign him when you had the chance. Rock and a hard place me thinks.

3.) 20 Jan 2021 12:41:47
I'm fairly sure given Orta's wage, resources and time (i. e that is his job) I couldn't do much worse.

Think about the disasters with Casilla, JKA and Costa to name but 3. Millions spent and wasted in fees and wages.

If you compare our success and spend with other teams on less resources such as Brentford, Peterborough and Southampton we are really found wanting.

02 Oct 2020 08:44:29
IMO, I think there's a better deal ahead, a player Bielsa would prefer, that's why things went Pete tong, some reports medical, some say add on fees, etc etc etc, or maybe just maybe, Bielsa wants someone else, Nandez maybe, who knows, just hope we get someone.
Sessignon on loan aswell please, or buy him and loan Att Mid,

1.) 02 Oct 2020 18:05:22
It’s clear that Bielsa wanted an extra attacking midfielder, and another winger, so I firmly believe there will be two more incomings. I hope we bypass Dan James, as that reeks of last time we tried to sign him at the last minute, simply because his departure from THAT team, relies entirely on them signing someone else, which will be last minute, for sure! Love watching them struggle for signings! 🤣🤣🤣.

30 Jul 2020 10:04:27
Morning all
Listen, I don't rarely listen to paper talk, even thou I enjoy reading the rumours of who were signing, but I hope this stuani 1 is a joke, 21 million really, la liga 2 last season, i'm sure I read on here that someone said watkins has a 18 mil release clause.
Personally I think we should of paid the 8 mill for Jacky boy, frees up a loan slot IMO.
Wilson on loan for me
Tuncheze CD from M*****s maybe,
MB was at Everton 4 a reason, in Bielsa I trust, Orta unfortunately I dont,

1.) 30 Jul 2020 20:19:53
I’d be surprised if Watkins had an 18 million release clause. But these days who the eff knows!

2.) 31 Jul 2020 15:28:22
quite right Richie, Orta is hopeless. I wouldn't trust him with the money for my weekly shop he would just come back with a load of rubbish.

Aidy White just come for Rochdale, he looks well old.

1.) 05 Dec 2021 13:38:33
He’s only 30 Richie I’ve got pants older than that, admittedly they look in better condition than Andy just now.

03 Dec 2021 10:51:40
Morning all
Even thou i agree with many a striker is needed unfortunately i don't see one arriving.
Firstly unfortunately MB believes that Rodrigo, Roberts and James can be the back up strike, like many i disagree.
Secondly i don't see any choices out there, yes great shout for Nkeitah, but if Arsenal were to sell surely Newcastle would outbid teams and offer more wages, as i believe they also need firepower, I've looked at the championship strikers and nobody, really jumps out to me.
Origi?, high wages, think Liverpool will need him once Salah and Mane go on African Cup duty, and i think i'm right in saying Newcastle have enquired alreafy and been knocked back.
And as Many elude to on here if we did buy a striker it would simply push Gelhardt and Greenwood down the pecking order.
We just need to hope and pray Bielsa starts to use them more.
Or maybe Victor has an unknown talent in Europe he is scouting, who knows

1.) 03 Dec 2021 14:45:52
Think the mantra that our club, along with every other PL club normally roll out in January, is its slim pickings and prices are too high……but……if there’s someone better than what we have already and they’re available, then we are interested”

For me, Swift at Reading is better than any of our current central midfielders, other than KP.

And Bereton Diaz at Blackburn, I believe could be our second best striker, after Bam Bam, and is definitely ahead of Roberts strike rate wise.

Both clubs have financial challenges just now and we’ve certainly been the selling club enough times, I think it would be good business, for not silly money with both players still relatively young.

Honestly don’t believe we have the funds for anything above championship buys just now.

The midfielder has always been needed however, with poor Klich a shadow of himself just now.

Hardly surprising given his work rate and commitment over the last two seasons, only Dallas has probably worked harder in terms of physical effort.

But we really need better in midfield if we are to repeat our levels of last season.

2.) 03 Dec 2021 15:23:32
The goalscoring issue is POTENTIALLY far bigger and far more serious than solely signing one other striker,

the serious issue is that Leeds need FAR MORE goalscoring players throughout their team in midfield and defence

the Revie, Wilkinson and Oleary teams are superior to the Bielsa team in ths aspect plentiful amount of goals were scored by all the midfield players and by all/ most of the defence at corners and at set plays and in open play.

Big Jack, Cooper, Giles, Bremner, etc
Fairclough, Sterland, Strachan, McAllister etc

whereas much as we love them KP ( rarely scores for Leeds in past 3 seasons) and Forshaw ( never scored for Leeds) are not contributing to the goals tally. Neither much has Rodrigo and so far at least Dan James. And then there is course Tyler Roberts.

Ayling used to score a few, we should be looking for more goals from corners Struick, llorente, Cooper, Koch ( when he is finally fit)

and we need a Pablo type.

3.) 03 Dec 2021 15:45:36
I was thinking the same thing Rich. What does it do to Gelhardt and Greenwood if we buy Mateo Joseph?

4.) 03 Dec 2021 16:21:30
Really good post about goal scorers that BazVid, last couple of seasons we have had the legend that is Pablo and don’t forget Alioski’s goals which have not been replaced! Then Klich, Harrison they have been miss firing this season and then like you said Ayling, his contribution has been greatly missed. Then of course no Bamford and none of our replacement strikers have emulated his scoring, so all in all we are where we are because apart from Raphinia no one is excelling in there respective rolls. Good points raised there BazVid. 👍 MOT.

5.) 03 Dec 2021 16:33:27
I’d be asking why we need another 18yr old striker who hasn’t even made his first team debut at his current club?

For me there’s little value in the championship, I don’t really see anyone in there coming in and taking us to the next level and realists that’s what any new signings have to be capable of doing. Look at Mitrovic for example he smashes the championship yet is pony in the prem.

We definitely need a decent quality attacking/ creative midfielder or number 10.

I’d prob look at loaning Joffy to the championship in January to get him regular game time, possibly same with Greenwood.

I personally think we might sign 3 in January as I do believe Marcelo goes in the summer and we need a bigger squad for his replacement.

Also we will probably have to replace both Rapha and Kalvin in the same window which is gunna be difficult but it is doable. Not too sure if Orta is the man to do it though.

6.) 03 Dec 2021 16:48:14
Cheers Woody
that situation needs remedying/ resolving asap.

7.) 03 Dec 2021 17:07:08
I’d agree with Class on Brereton Diaz, given he’s also proved he can deliver on the international stage. I’d be minded to offer them Tyro plus cash - plus Greenwood or Joffy on loan if that would make the deal more acceptable to Blackburn (and if the Poveda loan is ended due to his injury, offer McKinstry on loan too) .

8.) 03 Dec 2021 18:21:43
I think we’ve been misfiring due to a lack of confidence and the disruption caused by all the injuries. With any luck most of the injured who are just or coming back will start gaining some much needed confidence and momentum and the goals will be forthcoming.
I honestly can’t see us buying anyone in January, it’s a notoriously bad window to buy in. I think the January transfer window should be scrapped, Even Rangnick has just quoted that Man U will not be buying in January.
Although loans with a prospect to buy could be a possibility.

9.) 03 Dec 2021 18:31:40
As for not much value in the championship, it’s where the majority of our side came from including, Bamford, and others Ollie Watkins, Benrhmia, Ezee, Olisse etc etc

Sure many don’t make the step up but lot of that is coaching Bam Bams stock quadrupled and where would we have been without his goals last year.

Nothing to back this up but I’m fairly sure Championship converts are as successful as untried foreign players imported in across the globe?

And I still believe Swift would make us better and Diaz would score more than Tyler, well just score for a start.

10.) 03 Dec 2021 19:15:30
It's been a recurring problem now for a good while

The lack of goals from midfielders / wingers, obvs it would be great to hit the jackpot and sign players who make an immediate impact but for the limited lolly we have that is a big call for any potential signings

The likes of Bowen pre West ham probably be our limits now in January, but I really feel we need to increase squad size as the constant juggling of positions has to be grating on the lads, it would be great not to have such glaring holes in the squad

Desperately. need creativity +goals.

27 Nov 2021 19:43:39
Ill take a point after that poor performance.

1.) 27 Nov 2021 20:49:44
woeful performance : Bielsa set the tone of that despondent abject performance with team selection.

21 Nov 2021 18:21:31
Dissapointed with the result, but not the performance.
2 very lucky spuds goals,
Probably 5 of our starting outfield 10 missing.
Heads high, MOT.

1.) 21 Nov 2021 18:32:13
Fortunate yes but deserved. They were we on top.

01 Nov 2021 18:29:34
Heres a thought, Orta to persuade Chelsea to get Gilmour back from Norwich, then loan him to us, how he isn't in that team, god only knows.

1.) 01 Nov 2021 23:13:26
Here’s another thought. Rather than bringing Gilmour here and take time teaching him Bielsaball, give Bate an opportunity to show what he can do. Afterall, the lad came here because he felt it likely Gilmour would block his development at Chelsea, and by the beginning of January he’ll have been learning the Bielsa way for more than 5 months. So why have Gilmour blocking a possible acceleration of his development here?

Yes, I agree Gilmour is being wasted at Norwich, but that’s Chelsea’s problem, and it would seem a shame to help them out, at the risk of disillusioning one of our best young talents.

2.) 02 Nov 2021 06:12:18
Spot on clue!

3.) 02 Nov 2021 09:43:13
The question with any young player is how close are they to being ready and how long will they take to get up to speed. We need reinforcements now ideally rather than at the end of the season. The same is true of any incomings as they may take 4/ 5 months to get up to speed. That's why we should have been strengthening in summer rather than leaving it until January but spilt milk and all that.

4.) 02 Nov 2021 09:44:17
Top man Cluey. Here Here.

5.) 02 Nov 2021 10:43:30
Gilmour is a international who is prem level, Bate, how far away from that level his he,
So the question is who would adapt quicker, Bate to prem levels or Gilmour to Bielsa levels.

6.) 02 Nov 2021 13:08:45
That's the key question indeed Richie.

7.) 02 Nov 2021 13:56:39
Not to put too fine a point on it, Gilmour possibly wouldn’t be a full international yet if he wasn’t Scottish. Gilmour and Bate are probably roughly the same level as each other in terms of ability, with Gilmour having been above Bate in the pecking order at Chelski by virtue of their respective ages, which enabled him to get first team minutes while Bate was captaining their u23s. Those who’ve watched Bate play for our u23s, and England u20s really rate the lad, as did Chelski, and I have no doubt he could step up to the Prem. He will be even better versed in Bielsaball by January and, barring injury, will be fully match fit. While Gilmour had impressive running stats at Chelski, if he continues to sit on the sidelines at Norwich it could take him a while to get up to Bielsa fitness, as well as learning Bielsaball.

Besides, as I said before, why hold back Bate by bringing Gilmour here to block his progress, which is very thing Bate was trying to get away from by leaving Chelski. Bate had a lot of potential suitors when he made it clear he was looking for a new Club. He chose to come here, because he believed there was a clear pathway for his development, which Orta, and possibly Bielsa, will have mapped out to him - making it very clear just how much Leeds rated him. Bringing Gilmour here could be seen as saying, ‘yes we said we rated you, but not that much’.

8.) 03 Nov 2021 14:04:58
Will be interesting to see if Bate starts to get minutes in 2022.

Lots of whispers about stones on loan to see if bielsa can get the best out of him, unfortunately I think its 1 loan per team and we have Harrison, if we bought wages could be an issue.
