Bjarnasson deal to Torino falls through as Leeds make improved offer, yet Torino have been given 72 hours to try again. Surely if we're the highest bidders ;)

Would like it to be true but just can't see it tbh

Heavily linked midfielder Bikir Bjarnasson is absent from the Pescara squad in tonight's play off semi final 2nd leg. They are also a goal down (1-0 on aggregate)

Could he be the 2nd signing tomorrow?

He was on International duty

03 Jun 2015 19:36:51
Linked to Massaoud and Arnasson, two goalscoring midfielders, both internationals and free. Not bad if true

Leeds have apparently submitted a bid for Uruguayan international Alvaro Peirera. Played at the WC and is on loan from Inter. 29 year old left back

Silvestri says

* He is happy at Leeds and is going nowhere

* He is fit to play against Rotherham but reckons that he isn't as someone at the club doesn't want him to play

Suspect we'll hear more on this, guessing its Redfearn or Cellino stopping one of the best keepers in the league from playing.

SMitchell8

1.) 02 May 2015 11:02:08
more likely redfearn

2.) 03 May 2015 08:34:59
More likely it was Taylor previous performance. Justified re-selection. Redders has no real power to prevent selection for other reasons. Honestly Redders couldn't bend over to tie his shoelace without seeking permission from Umbers or Cellino.

Pointless international breaks, we and pretty much the whole championship could have played today effectively. The premier league should also be in action and it should force clubs to play youngsters instead of internationals. Only Dallas and Botaka have featured for us, we coulda coped without those 2 no disrespect.

1.) 05 Sep 2015 20:02:48
I agree. Rugby teams do exactly that.

2.) 05 Sep 2015 21:31:19
Nope don't agree, international footie still has a place

3.) 05 Sep 2015 22:35:06
All to do with making money for the FAs of various nations. Come on now. How else they going to make money? There's no election or vote rigging opportunity for ages yet.

4.) 05 Sep 2015 23:35:12
I agree. International football does have a place. But is there any need to halt lower league games? Surely if we were allowed to continue this would assist with the busy 3 games a week season?

5.) 06 Sep 2015 19:34:36
international football wil always have its place but club football should come first now as times have changed (international football should of come firstin past but now money, wages mean club should come before country as it means more to clubs and clubs pay the high wages) simple answer would be to change qualifying so there are fewer internationals in the fixture list. look at half of the teams in the groups they are there to make weight and bulk out fixtures. make the smaller nations qualify to qualify (like in f.a cup) then have the seeded teams with only a couple of the minows who fought for qualification. It would also stop joke countries like san marino being in groups unless they earn their place. the could have their qualifiers end of season while other big nations have freindlys to work out sqaud and system ect. the season would finsih earlier as there would only be four/five groups in qualifing not nine. also make qualifiers more meaningfull rather than average players like rooney becoming englands top scorer as he puts 30 goals past san marino, lictenstine, andora, outer mongoloia and eastbumf@@k

2-1 win is my prediction for today, got a fiver on it at 11-1 and Chis Wood NOT to score this time :)

SMitchell8

1.) 16 Aug 2015 14:24:21
just went on-line leeds 2-1 14/1 so had £5 2-0 at 20/1 then £1 3-1 at 40/1 and double with man city 2-1 £1 at 409/1

2.) 16 Aug 2015 14:31:24
Agree with that scoreline but got my money on win at 11-4

3.) 17 Aug 2015 09:11:46
good thing with on line betting bore draw money back to free bet . waiting for Liverpool . had arsenal/ man city/rangers/wolves/wigan only £2 so can Liverpool win or should I play save and take out £90

I think Redfearn is starting too look a bit silly

Our keeper is a serie b reject, our best 3 defenders atm are serie a rejects and one serie b reject, our best striker is, you guessed it, a serie a reject and the kids last night were bloody awful.

SMitchell8

1.) 14 Aug 2015 19:57:07
How does that mean Redfearn is silly?

Most players are rejects if they played for more than one club.

2.) 14 Aug 2015 20:37:41
Smitch mate you do some excellent posts but this one is just, well, silly.

3.) 14 Aug 2015 21:15:30
Ok I've worded it wrong, his philosophy was completely wrong and people kept on saying how well he done and how good he was, but in truth all he did was create a divide between the players and put the youngsters in the shop window

08 Aug 2015 14:46:06
And Redfool preferred Morison up front.
Point was affair result, disappointed we threw it away, my ratings would be

Silvestri - 5
Berardi - 7
Bamba - 7
Bellusci - 6
Taylor - 5
Cook - 5
Mowatt - 5
Adeyemi - 5
Dallas - 7
Wood - 5
Byram - 7

SMitchell8

1.) 08 Aug 2015 17:24:54
Agree Smitch. Only saw game on TV. Fair result but disappointed as I thought we'd won it with Lucy's cracker.
Of course people will say its our usual trick of giving a quick goal away. Which it was.
BUT BUT BUT
To me, the team seemed much more full of potential. I think we will get goals from Wood, Dallas, Lucy in addition to Sams and Mowatts
Basically, nothing happened in the match today that made me any less optimistic than earlier in the week
So MOT lads and let's stick it up them next time!!

2.) 08 Aug 2015 17:32:54
Did you watch a different game to the one I witnessed?
We were unlucky not get a win against a relegated premier team. Yes, there will always be room for improvement but that was exciting, attacking football and all the boys put a shift in.
We won't be far off with team.

3.) 08 Aug 2015 21:45:02
have to agree with chris lake, what game you watching?

slivestri made one top draw save and no chance with goal 5?
cook did well and did Adeyme, dallas looked really lively and played with purpose, wood looked handful and full of goals and goal threat. yet Bellushi was awful. bad challenges could of been booked 5 times, no marking for goal didn't jump for goal yet he scored higher than some. everyones opinion and all that but come on. burnley just come down, good team and we got decent point, I would say minimum 6 for all apart from bellendshi who I would give a 3 being nice (as I can make puns on his name)

4.) 08 Aug 2015 22:45:37
Was at game in my opinion first 30 mins even, then burnley looked better until half time. Second half we were better had chances, great goal, we should have won. Only reason they scored (was a great header mind) was cause Boyde got passed 2 weak challenges, was on my side of the pitch and such a shame cause it could have been stopped, overall we were a bit better in my opinion.
Scores
Silvestri 6
Taylor 7
Berardi 7
Bellusci 7
Bamba 9
Adeyemi 7
Mowatt 5
Cook 6
Dallas 7
Wood 7
Byram 8 first half, 6 second

Overall positive start, looking good but crowd looked more like 30000 plus to me but no didn't count them

5.) 09 Aug 2015 08:26:17
Of all the summaries that's the best one for me DG.Obviously 1 or 2, dodgy moments but was encouraged & generally impressed with yesterday MOT boys. PS, like your sister in law MM & never even met her!!

6.) 09 Aug 2015 09:21:18
I agree about their goal DG I sit in the NE corner and they were weak tackles and I thought Silvestri could have come for it, but you never know who called for the ball. I thought we were fantastic in the first 30. Mowatt, Cook, Dallas and especially Byram dominated. If we would have took our chances we'd have been streets ahead at half time. Thought Burnley after half time closed us down well and stopped Byram playing as well as he was. I'm not sure about Bellusci, thought he was a little dicey, but overall a good result. Long way to go yet, but still think we could get a play off spot.

7.) 09 Aug 2015 09:59:00
Don't think bellusci was as bad as people make out as bamba was more reckless in challenges n bellusci made some decent tackles n one making up for when bamba lost ball in box after trying to dribble it out. Only problem is he should of jumped when they scored the header

8.) 09 Aug 2015 10:43:15
have to say I watched it on telly and agree with dg and others and the ball should of been stopped but on telly you see close up how poor bellischi was. feet off the floor in tackles one siccor tackle, losing men, not jumping for header, not challenging in general and when he does it looks reckless. sol did one silly challenge then sorted it out. bell looks like a red card waiting to happen or a mistake. Think it will be a good season in general and hope bell sorts it out as he shows moments of class, but I think he will be last years morrision as the guy who gets most stick on here and if we lose goals it will more often or not be his fault (unless wooten is playing of course)

9.) 09 Aug 2015 12:34:23
I saw at least 2 reckless tackles by bamba but one he luckily touched the ball n then tried dribbling it out of box n lost it

10.) 09 Aug 2015 12:45:25
Spot on DG. What was encouraging was that after Burnley got on top Rosler changed things at half time something Redders was incapable of doing. Was suprised at the crowd too. There didn't seem to be many spaces looking around the ground.

11.) 09 Aug 2015 21:57:22
I agree Early days let's make more accurate judgements come September. I am reserving judgement and hoping that Wood fluffed chances are not indicative of his limited skill level. Bamba is a rock in defense and carries a mix of Sol Campbell and Micheal Duberry (figure that out!)

Purchased the away kit in body fit, very impressed with quality of it, if your deciding about getting one, do it :)

His record does the talking, 16 goals and 11 assists or something like that for a winger. His team won the league by 21 points so he clearly played a big part.

Gimple was touted as being the next big thing and he didn't make it. Surely McDaid is ready now given that Cook broke through at just 17

Martinho was linked last season, its a load of truck imo.

Horton

Adejele

Doukara could be quite the player if used properly, which Redders failed at. He's quick, strong and his finishing last season was excellent. His attitude stunk but can you blame him the way he was treated?

Agree Leedsyar, wouldn't change any of those, Cooks passing was horrific all night as was Mowatt's. I didn't rate Doukara much, I think he's better being the last man.

Silvestri woulda saved that penalty and may have saved a few in the shootout, so I disagree.

SMitchell8

{Ed013's Note - I'm sorry mate but there is no way you can be sure of that and pens are a lottery. I think Turnbull played well and was close to two of the pens}
