Rutter has just cost Brighton a goal. Doing too much with ball in his own half.
You get punished in the Premiership for stuff like that!
He will have to learn.
1.) 06 Oct 2024 17:51:10
Just made up for it, happy for him, he always gave his all for us. Sometimes too much, as you rightly pointed out.
2.) 06 Oct 2024 19:23:02
He more than made up for it afterwards!
But you are right though. He’ll never become a top player until he learns to stop giving the ball away in his own half.
Numerous times last season he was guilty of losing the ball in dangerous areas and fortunately for us wasn’t always punished but in the EPL it’s a different story.,
3.) 06 Oct 2024 19:54:01
Showed us the worst part of his game and the best. Ended up MoTM. Was unplayable second half, proper took the game by the scruff of the neck, like he did many times for us. Was great to see. Lovely finish and then the assist he showed some dogged determination and upper body strength, along with his quintessential dribbling qualities.
He really does have a very high ceiling if coached right. Looks like he may have found that at Brighton. Hope so.
4.) 06 Oct 2024 20:27:13
Passed ball in net with composure. and was a man possessed for their 3rd goal.
Yet for Leeds United run in and Play Off final he went AWOL.
Geo who? Meh
He is talented but hold little to no affection for him .
Raph yes Pablo yes.
5.) 06 Oct 2024 20:43:49
Agree dill rutter is without a doubt the most enjoyable player I have ever seen at er.
6.) 06 Oct 2024 20:45:25
Second that Bermo.
7.) 06 Oct 2024 21:31:15
His ceiling is so high if he can coach the bad parts of his game out, being his, at times, poor decision making. Trying tricky stuff in the middle third and his composure in front of goal. To me, both are predicated in his decision making.
Snap shots or blasting it instead of thinking about passing it into the net or not putting as much on the shot. Or turning into trouble in the middle third when a chance to wall pass/ lay off is on.
He takes risks and he rightly should in the attacking third as he's a creative pkayer and rusk is part of that, but he needs to be a bit more aware of the repercussions and weigh things up before trying that kinda stuff in the middle third. ie; do I leave my team exposed if this doesn't work. It's all split second decision making.
Those can both be coached out/ into him. Already seems he's less snappy with his shooting if today is anything to go by.
Will be keeping a firm eye on his progress as I do think he'll become a UCL level player and full France international if his progression continues.
8.) 06 Oct 2024 21:41:11
Cheers mot
I see baz bot is broke again.
9.) 06 Oct 2024 23:02:49
Hi Berma
I had the pleaaure of watching the short trailer of your Bermondsey flick
I must say I really enjoyed the scene of you tied up in the car boot ?.
10.) 06 Oct 2024 23:06:37
Berma
well you could try to rename your " Bazbot " account to " Ipswich Gaz" ?
that might do the trick?.
11.) 07 Oct 2024 10:19:24
Baz - you seem to be forgetting that Rutter had just had overdue surgery during the last international break - directly before the games in which you claim he went ‘missing’. His reduced impact on games was almost certainly due to that rather than any lack of ability or desire on his part. As on so many other matters of judgement you seem to be ignoring the context, or perhaps again dismissing very valid reasons as just excuses. In doing so, you’re making it very hard for anyone to take your comments seriously in any way.
12.) 07 Oct 2024 11:16:54
Clu yes he had surgery but boy do you lurve your excuses for failure (Orta JKA. failed promotions) its truly difficult to take your defending tje indefensible seriously.
A £35 million plus Rutter even say at 80% fitness should be far, far too good for Champo players
Indeed in Play off semi final YEP gave GR theae comments 9/ 10
' A sublime player in the hole behind the striker . So technically astute, he was able to beat his man with EASE, and seemed to just GLIDE ACROSS the ER turf. '
Buf then when it really mattered Clueless in biggest match of season the PLay off final . GR predictably wnt AWOL as he did in run in .
13.) 07 Oct 2024 14:10:24
Berma. BazBot is working perfectly well.
Another Berma post like your defence of Le Gash.
05 Oct 2024 14:49:53
Burnley held to a bore draw. So no body is running away this year. 4 points in the first 6. Its how team end the season. So we are in a good position . Just need to stay in and around and hope we can get our team back together after Xmas.
1.) 05 Oct 2024 15:08:12
It is a mediocre weak Champo this season.
No very good teams this season.
2.) 05 Oct 2024 16:00:35
In your very mediocre opinion Baz.
3.) 05 Oct 2024 16:46:18
Haha . no surprise there OP
If I said grass was green you'd say it wasn't ?.
4.) 05 Oct 2024 17:39:04
Baz I think more accurately what you wanted to say is that there's no "outstanding" team like a ?? from last season.
Top 3 should be quite tight this season.
If we add correctly in January, we should edge it.
5.) 05 Oct 2024 18:26:06
Just because a no team has started amazing doesn't mean one might go on a run! But I have to admit I'm not fearful about any team this year. Leeds league to lose.
6.) 05 Oct 2024 18:29:28
The problem is George, will we add anyone in January - notoriously difficult time to bring players in ( of sufficient quality) and Farke not known for adding to the squad in the New Year.
Hope I'm wrong and you're right - we are there/ thereabouts at the moment, one or two shrewd additions would add the finishing touch.
7.) 05 Oct 2024 19:34:28
Cleggy .
Ani's faves Gonner Ipswich added quite a few quality players last Jan window .
and that was the difference in getting up.
8.) 05 Oct 2024 20:33:02
Cleggy Think we will. 9ers surely realize in absence of promotion the following bad things shall occur:
1. Further stadium ?️ expansion delay.
2. Forced sale of better players.
3. Harder to attract quality in transfer market.
4. Exceptionally strong teams coming down from EPL, stronger than ever.
5. Closer to termination of parachute payments.
We need a CAM, a GK and striker.
9.) 05 Oct 2024 21:04:32
…. and they added a bucket load in the summer…serving them well presently.
10.) 05 Oct 2024 21:23:58
I agree with all the points you list George, just hope that we do bring in a couple in Jan.
As Dill mentioned yesterday, Kramer is a free agent, now he would be an excellent addition and no need to wait till January either!
11.) 05 Oct 2024 23:19:50
Think he'd need time to get up to speed, Cleggy, but 2 week really would mitigate it somewhat. Hopefully match fit in a month's time.
12.) 05 Oct 2024 23:33:15
Very generous there by saying mediocre to be fair. i'd say it lies somewhere between, pointless, deluded and just plain wrong.
13.) 06 Oct 2024 08:48:35
Why do say no teams like Leicester this season like there were four or five Leicesters l?
There was only Leicester who should have and did win the league, the rest were no different to this season.
We were the only team that should have challenged Leicester theoretically.
Ipswich and Southampton will be canon fodder in the Premiership this season and both will be coming back down which will prove they both were unexceptional Championship teams.
14.) 06 Oct 2024 09:44:40
Leicester were excellent last year and Ipswich turned out to be an unstoppable force. Us and Southampton played our part but they were always just out of reach.
This year no team stands out. We have played Burnley and were unlucky with the result against them. I think Sunderland asked the most questions of our defence on Friday.
I think if we get 90 points again we should be up. Just need to get a settled side. I think we have had our slice of bad luck now.
01 Oct 2024 09:16:24
Who fancies doing some predictions for this season now the squads settled and we have seen afew games? I didn't do marvellous last time but I did have Leeds finishing 3rd. Unlucky with play off eh?
My predictions are.
Leeds to finish 2nd
Top scorer gnonto
Player of the season aaronson
Most assists firpo
Does anyone want to add a category?
1.) 01 Oct 2024 11:57:41
I already posted a complete set of predictions within hours of window closure. Had us winning the league with an ambitious for goals total which amused my brother bard.
2.) 01 Oct 2024 12:58:25
Predicted 1st but increasing injuries in a smallish squad are concerning
Also Leeds could well have 3 players in squad who because of ongoing fitness/ injury and possibly other issues too hardly ever play .
Namely Bamford, Solomon and Wober
Problematic situations if so.
3.) 01 Oct 2024 13:01:00
Scoring 98 goals Georgey was yes more than a tad ambitious.
12 goals in 7 matches so far. at that rate. around 80 goals.
4.) 01 Oct 2024 15:10:02
Think 2nd
Top scorer pirloe
Best player arrason or firpo.
5.) 01 Oct 2024 15:29:48
I'm forecasting 2nd.
Aaronson player of the season; Mes to have the most clean sheets.
Firpo top assists.
Hamer to be top scorer, even though only half a season to do it!
6.) 01 Oct 2024 15:53:25
Leeds finish first.
Top scorer Largie ramazani
Player of the season Matteo Joseph or Gruev.
7.) 01 Oct 2024 16:11:35
Baz Yet there are encouraging signs of the abandonment of handbrake football. This is what I believed would occur before it did. Both Gruev and Tanaka can effectively spray passes. I'm confident I'll go very close to the 98. No-one scares me in this league and I think we'll strengthen in January.
8.) 01 Oct 2024 16:21:47
Must of missed the predictions first time was on hols over the end of the window.
It does feel that it maybe a struggle to keep a settled side before new year. Hopefully we can get it together in the second half of the season.
But I do think there is enough quality for second.
9.) 01 Oct 2024 15:40:19
Berma changed his mind again
. sure he had Leeds winning league with many matches to spare?
The Blades or Millwall coming 1st then? ?.
10.) 01 Oct 2024 18:25:33
Leeds 1st
Top scorer Joseph
Top assist Joseph
Player season Struick.
11.) 01 Oct 2024 19:01:22
Kinda nice to see Firpo n Aaronson being mentioned after not being so well appreciated in previous seasons?
12.) 02 Oct 2024 05:20:35
Not sure why you think matteo be top scorer unless he is a very slow starter. Not really even had many chances.
13.) 02 Oct 2024 13:15:14
He’s missed a few Aus but I see your point. Just got a feeling he’ll go on a scoring run. ASAP would be nice though!
25 Sep 2024 11:21:46
I've tried to sit back after last weeks game and let the performance go. The win was good the way we controlled things again good. The performance as a form of of entertainment was dull.
Playing a poor side in Cardiff and them going to 10 men I think made a lot feel as we should have put them to the sword.
And under a certain manager not too many years back we probably would have done.
Bogle was constantly in space on the right. He only got a few decent passes. Also largie on our left was up against a booked rb for most of the game but firpo on most occasions turned and played back.
Farke talks of teams being in a rhythm but what is he going for? A rhythm of passing back and sideways or a rhythm of making chances and getting a few goals through the team. I know the pressure of managing leeds is more than Norwich. If Norwich go up with him at the helm it is a supreme effort. If he doesn't succeed at Leeds it is a failure. Could the fear of failure explain such displays as Saturday?
I think if we are to go up this season we are going to see one or two displays like this at Cardiff. It was dull negative football. We won and that's it. I am disappointed with the manner of it and our inability to take teams apart even with such an advantage. Hopefully our new players Ao or rothwell might add to the attack . We will see.
On to Coventry. They will give us more to think about defensively and maybe a little more room in behind.
1.) 25 Sep 2024 12:09:37
Good post WB, agree on all fronts.
2.) 25 Sep 2024 13:12:46
The next 4-5 games will tell us a lot Ben. Boring but 3 points is right.
Nothing against the bloke. He seems decent and honest. In my view he hasn’t got what it takes to get us up. He seems clueless on tactics and subs.
With Norwich it was a matter of going all out for the win. With Leeds it’s good to win but do not lose. Different ideal and fear does come into it. It shouldn’t.
As prev stated. I personally think he has 1 possibly at a stretch 2 defeats left and his gone. Don’t mind the bloke. Bit boring and repetitive but if he ain’t able. Find someone that is not scared to manage Leeds. Porky wasn’t scared. That’s why he got us up. Just burnt us out as his norm. Let’s get a happy medium.
3.) 25 Sep 2024 17:44:16
A very good read that, Ben!
4.) 25 Sep 2024 19:00:27
Even if Leeds lost 2 of next 4 matches Aus . I would still be uber surprised if DF got da tin tack.
5.) 25 Sep 2024 20:46:04
Can't disagree with anything you said Ben, good post.
6.) 26 Sep 2024 08:24:43
Ben, would you not consider that after losing arguably our three most influential players that Farke is having to recalibrate his team. Perhaps the rhythm that you mention that Farke is trying to achieve is just simply getting his players playing with more synchronicity, as it appears to me at the moment they are not quite there yet.
I think that more free flowing play will come, eventually. It can appear a little turgid, but keeping possession is an important process in getting where we need to be.
Give it a bit more time and I’m sure we will see a difference.
Whatever anyone says breaking down low block set up teams is never easy and Coventry will be no different on Saturday. However, I do accept us to cause Coventry City some serious problems with our attacks, even though some of our players are clearly still bedding in.
7.) 26 Sep 2024 17:45:32
Asides from possibly Tanaka . not sure who is going to orchestrate more free flowing play OP?
And no need to mention Solomon. slow and permo crocked.
28 Aug 2024 00:34:33
So it has been quite quiet until now. Then all he'll breaks loose and we are in for the world and his cat.
Just how many midfielders can we have?
Usually we have this madness from the start.
Where will it end? Ryan bloody Kent?
1.) 28 Aug 2024 08:20:47
Thankfully Ben, I think we have seen the last of the Kent rumours after this window!
You watch, in ten years time, he will be being touted for the gaffer’s job!

05 Oct 2024 18:40:01
It comes to the fact that the medical team and or the players cannot 100% tell when concussion is or isn't affecting the judgement.
You can do the test on the sideline and 2 mins later a player can be affected.
Only way is automatic subs. Then it's out of all hands.
05 Oct 2024 18:26:06
Just because a no team has started amazing doesn't mean one might go on a run! But I have to admit I'm not fearful about any team this year. Leeds league to lose.
05 Oct 2024 14:10:57
Slightly unfair corks. Aaronson has played nearly every minute of three tough games in 6 days. Yes he have quiet game last night. But he is always busy and never shirks his work.
Maybe if we had more bodies he would not have played last night.
05 Oct 2024 12:10:02
Up till the mistake I thought mes played well last. He was unlucky with rebound on the first goal but it was a cracking save.
The mistake for the second was a little bizarre. He seems in his movement to go past the ball. Not picking up the flight of the ball. Did the flick off firpos head make ball dip sooner than he expected? Was his head still foggy after the collision with struijk?
The ball did not seem to spinning enough for it to kick up or spin past him. I could not see any turf or divots that it hit.
Even with these new protocols about head injuries very few players go off after knocks to the head. It might just be that split second of picking the flight of ball or touch of blurred or double vision. That did him.
But like the Paul Robinson Air kick or the nigel Martin one were it bobbled over his shoulder keepers rarely get away with things like that.
Was mes 100% that last 10 mins?
Should he have gone off?
Would darlow been 100% up to speed if he had been thrown on?
We have the point . Far more good parts to take from the game than bad. Disappointing but a lot of season to go. Hopefully a few players back for the next one.
