The next few months at Elland Road will be very turbulent. The 49ers will be turning up side down every department every office every corner of the club to see if any improvement is required for the prem.
Coaching. Players and management will be looked at. It has be. 100s millions of their money is at stake. And I can bet they will only want to do this once.
So with a lot of big restructurings and or take overs employees will have to reapply or justify their work and try to show where the think they can improve. And show what direction the team and ultimately the money needs to be spent.
I would think df will know this and will have been told this. He will have his vision of what next year looks like but 49ers will have options. They will have there own ideas. And they will have had approaches and approached other parties for a lot of the jobs.
I wouldn't be surprised if a experienced has been considered for the role next season. Considering df has not performed well at prem level.
My opinion is that df will continue into next season but with a target on his back.
From now on it's pure money and no sentiment. It has to be if leeds are going to survive in the prem.

Excellent post.

Interesting post Ben re Marathe and Cib re " players, coaches, every dept will ve looked at to see what improvement can be made" .
That shpuld be so but it begs the question
why then have Mr Marathe and Co been seemingly been quite lax in inproving glaring weaknesses that exist for past 2 seaaons if they are sooo thorough namely
1) tne serious achilles heel that is Meslier.
2) the appalling stats of corners set pieces. Leeds officisply the WORST in Champo at them
3) the physicality, strength speed and height of the team. it will be a huge issue in EPL
Etc.
3.) 24 Apr 2025 12:47:05
All this is already in place.
Football is a business and successful businesses all have business management structures in place to become successful.
We are just going up to the next level.
We should not be over seed by this.
We are a big club and not too many teams will fancy the trip to Elland Rd.

This pre season will indeed see seismic changes in the structure of the club as 49ers get ready to take Leeds to the next level in every sense. The redevelopment plans show how serious they are and where they want to take the club in the next few years. i believe they will be ruthless in achieving those goals and very focused on establishing LUFC as a Premier league club. The next couple of years will see big changes to the playing personnel and they are likely to spend up to £150m (plus reinvesting funds from any player sales) this window to kick start things. Farke was brought in to achieve promotion, with the possibility of staying if things went well. I always backed him to deliver that goal within 2 years and he has done so admirably, but it hasn't all gone smoothly this year and the feeling is that 49ers expected and wanted more hence the blow out after Swansea. DF understood the role he was expected to play and will be prepared for changes if that's what the 49ers decide. He will also be paid for the final 2 years of his contract if that happens so not all bad. I can only see him staying if the 49ers targets are unavailable but they won't be overly keen on allowing someone that they do not see as a long term option spending so much of their money and they will absolutely not risk a relegation if it can be avoided.
We knew that DF was capable of winning promotion based on past performance but we don't know with any certainty whether he would cut it in the Prem. My heart says he would to an extent (as in avoiding relegation, I don't think he could take us to the elite levels (i. e. top 8) ) but my head can't back it up with any certainty so although I wouldn't be adverse to DF staying I also wouldn't be against a change as long as it was well thought out and a clearly positive move for the club.
I totally get it about sentiment and wanting to give people a chance and morally replacing DF is the absolute wrong move, however, 49ers are all about business and that will prevail above all else.
Above all else, this is a VERY exciting time to be a LUFC supporter. The resources and capabilities of 49ers and RB are greater than many suspect and could be mind-blowing if things work out as they are planning so my advice is to give them a chance, strap in, enjoy the ride and look forward to a bright, white future. This is it guys and gals - this is what we have been hoping for. An amazing time to be alive!

6.) 24 Apr 2025 15:12:32

7.) 24 Apr 2025 15:35:58
Good post Alf.
8.) 24 Apr 2025 16:03:01
White Ben : If the 9'ers have to " see if improvements are required" then quite frankly we are Daffy Ducked?
Totally agree with Alf though
Great time to be a Leeds fan, with PL inbound ?
Just want window to open now and read all crap transfer talk all summer long.
9.) 24 Apr 2025 16:32:01
To answer you questions Baz, because the club couldn't afford to; Daniel said as much re the January Window; not being promoted last year, really hurt us and our spending capacity within the rules. Burnley can "lose" an extra £30M over us because they are promoted first time; likewise it will be the same for the Blunts if they make it back, "first time. "
It was clear, selling Gray and co last year, essentially prevented a points deduction, so we know how close we have been financially; we spent a lot on transfers and especially wages being relegated and trying not to be.
10.) 24 Apr 2025 16:32:20
Oh very nice Chris Chris fancy bringing up click bait all summer ?️ ?, I stopped reading it last year no way am I reading all the shite that will be on the net now we have been promoted, it will be endless.
11.) 24 Apr 2025 19:50:56
Oldbri too true about 99.9% of what you will read from now until September 1st will be BS, non stop.
Bit like Baz’s posts ?.

3.) 21 Apr 2025 19:35:53

Hi Cleggy no problems. Just hope you can make it stick, Its such. a difficult league to stay in. I know the Leeds support will be a boost.
13 Mar 2025 12:00:17
Well a slightly better performance from Leeds last night . More energy all around. Ba looked back to his buzzy self. I know he is no 10 and he is a bit wasteful but his work in winning the ball back and supporting the midfield is invaluable for the team.
The disallowed goal was disappointing because it was such a good move and link up play. Definitely no advantage or benefit of the doubt given to the striker.
As with last week's penalty call do we think var next year will be a good thing? .
I for one do think var has improved.
I think the waits for decisions needs looking at but it is going in the right direction.
1.) 13 Mar 2025 12:48:09
Spot on Ben. That is all; carry on!
2.) 13 Mar 2025 13:22:25
Yep. With you Ben.
3.) 13 Mar 2025 13:29:13
Same lino who gave Willy offside Vs Cov when he was 3 yards inside!
25 Feb 2025 09:17:15
So what a game. After the jubilation of last Monday to do it again this week was amazing.
Leeds looked nervous first 20 mins and mes showed his worst side again.
We were a bit wasteful first half . Getting into good position and in behind their defence. Much more than we did against Sunderland only to hit the first man or keeper.
In truth Sheffield could have been 2-3 up after the first half but so could Leeds.
Their goal was not a goal keeper error the cross should have been blocked from coming in. Plus ohare ran in behind rodon.
Mes will be a cracking keeper one day but I don't think leeds can wait until he is.
Piroe had a good contribution but only when he moved to 10. As a nine he was limited to a half dozen touches in the first half. Number 9 would be the top of my shopping list.
Firpo had a good game but Sheffields full back kept letting firpo run past him and their young lad on the right was very poor. Thought firpo might have had his hands full defending.
But what a header from firpo a right bullet nut!
And then there is AO. What a bargain. He looks as he has played in England from years. He has not been overrun or looked out of place once. He always looks as he has an hour to play any ball. Not since batty have I seen a player that can be in a melee of players and pop out with the ball. Look forward to seeing him in the prem.
It in Leeds hands now. We have played all around us and our run in is arguably easier than the rest. 2 points a game. Premiership here we come.
1.) 25 Feb 2025 10:11:09
Good honest post Ben.
2.) 25 Feb 2025 12:12:33
Excellent post WB.
3.) 25 Feb 2025 12:15:51
?????? Ben. Nowt to argue with or discuss there!
18 Feb 2025 00:28:41
Brilliant end to a frustrating game. We played ok in the first half but no penetration. Piroe played well but only dropping deep and aaronson struggled against the strong Sunderland defenders.
Amps made a mistake by trying to win the ball for their goal. As warnock said. Midfielder playing at centre half!
Why is struijk our only player that can attack a cross?
On to the bigger game on Monday.
1.) 18 Feb 2025 05:51:27
Physical presence.
2.) 18 Feb 2025 12:02:14
Rodon is atrocious at attacking set pieces. Woeful. I’m always baffled why he seems to be organising it!?

To be fair op every part of Leeds from management to infrastructure will be under the micro scope at the moment.
49ers will going over everything and saying is this part good enough. Do we need to improve or spend money on this part. So players and managers. coaches facilities everything.
So the rumours will abound till next season. 49ers will want to get the prem done in a one no mistakes.
If the feel that df is not best fit then they will make the call.
No sentiment.
{Ed025's Note - you are probably right Ben, but i cant help thinking that DF deserves a shot mate, even if its only temporary..
21 Apr 2025 19:35:36
Well that's that then! How un leeds two games to go?
Now for the silverware!
21 Apr 2025 18:06:26
Today made up for when I missed the Cardiff game.
21 Apr 2025 17:28:25
Piroe got the mom shield the match ball and the Stoke defence gave him the freedom of Elland Road.
Pleased for him! His performances have got better and better towards the end of the season. He was unlucky against Preston not to get something.
He is still not a number 9 but he's made it work dropping deeper and not trying to be something he is not.
20 Apr 2025 17:28:45
1970 you are right the gulf in quality between the top championship teams and the Middle premier sides is vast and widening.
You only have to look at Burnley to see that. Absolutely hammered the championship and then made no mark on the prem.
Wolverhampton had a prem side already when they went up and then forest bought another team to make there mark.
As you say herculean efforts will be needed. And a bit of luck injury wise.
