Can see this from both ways. If they are too keen to come then they probably aren’t the standard we need. If they take too much convincing (££) then they not in it for the right reasons. A sweet spot somewhere in the middle and then when they arrive the realise what this club and its fans are all about.
The other point is that with the data model we are now using for recruitment is aimed at getting players in with a resale value to stay ahead of PSR.

Would like to see this one get over the line but reckon that his head will be turned by a club in European Football. If that’s the case good luck to him and he’s missed his chance of getting on board at the start of the journey and he’s got no chance of catching the train once it’s left the station.

I’m torn on Buendia. If he stays fit and Farke can reignite the talent he’s shown in the past then £17m is a deal but there are ifs in that statement. Hamer is a no for me, better team players out there.

Great post Woodster, great to get the views from in the ground as it a truer overall view of how we set up and played.
Watched on tv and thought we dominated in midfield, but the 3 in there, Ao, Gruv and Amp/ Longstaff all lacked the attacking ambition and drive to get forward. If we’re going to have 3 in there then one of them has got to join the front 3 more often and quicker.
Bogle was MOTM for me, prem ready. New signings all looked promising for a first start.
My worry is that Harrison started and the players that Farke doesn’t see as part of the squad for this season weren’t in Sweden. Is Harrison being reintegrated in to the plans for this season? I really hope not. Not because he went off a deserted us, just because he’s absolutely dreadful and not just based on yesterday’s performance. As a football fan we have short memories, if he came back and was a cracking player we’d all forgive if not quite forget, but he’s just not good enough for the level we need.
Overall, good run out yesterday, hard to make any judgement from one game but solid start.

He’d be a definite starter in half of premier leagues teams. Would be a fantastic signing and was thinking yesterday it would be great to get him, even on loan, but can’t see it happening. Think after his performances this summer he will be on a lot of clubs radar.

Never been a LB and not sure he’s actually a LWB. We definitely need a LB in the PL. He had a massive input in us being promoted so sad to see him move on but think it is probably the right decision. Believe he was on big wages, if that’s true it will help with who we can get in.

Only way to do it. Money in the bank before the PSR deadline. Maybe we were close to the line than we thought. Clean slate at the end of the month and we can get some good signings over the line.
