In 2009 he did an interview in The Daily Mail, incredibly he said that people have got him wrong and he is not a racist or a thug and he's been labled as such because people are trying to make money from stories! So Mr Bowyer three serious attacks on Asians plus abusive racial offensive language! and your not racist! Spitting on a an Asian man lying on the floor after you put him there is not the act of a racist thug! I am astonished how he never got a prison sentence especially after he tried to offer an out of court settlement for £100,000 to the two lads that were attacked, to me that's an act admission and it also disproved his theory that they were only out for money because they turned it down! Absolute scum Ed! He didn't deserve his god given talent, it would of been better given to somebody with morals! What a waster!

{Ed001's Note - sad to say but true.}

I will leave it at that Ed although I'm still reading stuff but thanks again for the insight!

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome. Sorry it is not nice reading though! Probably best to read about Gary Speed if you want nice reading as he is, to put it simply, the nicest guy I ever had the good fortune to meet. Shame he was an Evertonian!}

Absolutely Ed, you see that's the good side of football as for every idiot there is there are a hell of a lot of good guys like Speedy, it's just unfortunate that the idiots make more press!

{Ed001's Note - very true, or the media focuses on other things. I mean how many know about the many hours Cristiano Ronaldo devotes to charity work and the huge sums he gives away on a regular basis? I know he doesn't do it for the media coverage, but the media know about it and would rather talk about what he is wearing or his haircut or some other pointless thing.}

Exactly, I don't think footballers are great role models, but I do think Ronaldo is an excellent role model.

Not really wanting to get caught up in this thread but on reading the article. I see a lot of people with good things to say about bowyer and an ex girlfriend saying not so good things. Bowyer was found not guilty in all aspects of racism and assault during that trial. No mention of any racism in McDonald's incident. These are facts

A lot of people slate the Beckhams but not many do as much for charity as them both, David contributed all of his wages while at PSG and yet at the time the media were concentrating a on the cracks in his marriage! Luckily there are a lot of good people that do so many things right in sport but the failings of the odd one will always outweigh the good. It's sad but true, I sometimes wonder why we don't have alternative News at Ten which concentrates on only the good stories which gives us a choice, my partner goes to work (she's a nurse in a Children's Hospital) then comes home, she doesn't tell me a good story, no the thing she's tells me is, "oh this little boy got rushed in today, beaten by his parents and he died later"! How many good stories could she of told me! But it's the way we live now isn't it.
