Hearing from a good pal LUFC have opened discussions with Davide Astori and Cellino saying this deal may still happen! That would be another great signing lots of interest in him from Juventus Galatasary plus a host of others incl a couple of prem clubs. 8 - 10 mil rated Italian National squad player - centre back very quick and can score goals. Hope this was written into the sale of Cagliari ~MOT

As much as I want this to be true, I just can't see us either paying that kind of money for 1 player or him being interested when the likes of top premiership teams, juve etc are sniffing. Truly hope I'm wrong as he'd be an incredible signing and sign of intent

Yes I said same and I don't think we are offering anywhere near that valuation. However he knows MC and of course we have Nicola Salerno confirmed as sporting director I imagine they would be fairly persuasive when it comes to negotiations. I hope that this was in part conditional to the sale of Cagliari. At least if it is true we are in talks which is something - fingers crossed #MOT

Man city was the prem club, but with their money every player gets linked. the main rivals are Lazio, and inter are favourites. MOT

With Rossini apparently nearly done and heavily linked to Giuseppe Bellusci, who sounds like a decent player. I can't see Astori coming especially with so much interest and price. Just hoping all this imports have that little extra quality we have been lacking in recent years.

Agree with all the previous posters I am hoping we don't see any split in the dressing room either as Newcastle and many others have suffered when you get a big influx of foreign players. I aren't sure about the Hocks credentials for handling this type of squad either. But at least we are signing young players with some credibility in their own leagues. Time will tell but we surely have moved forward from the last 2 regimes we endured. C'mon Leeds

Can't see M C putting up with any nonsense from any player regardless of nationality and as he seems very much to running the show I hope these signings come good.
Commitment pace and passion is my hope .

Can't see this signing coming off. Why would Astori go to a champ club on ~£10k a week when he could go to a prem club and be on £40k+.
