Sad to say it seems his stubborness was his undoing. On the one hand you have to admire him for his beliefs but then again he is his own worst enemy. In the face of overwhelming evidence he thinks (knows) he is right?
Oh I so wish he could have changed and I so wish he could have stayed.

I agree with both of you. He was hampered by his own beliefs this season, due to injuries to vital players, and a lack of capable cover. But what a man! Still standing with fans at the very end, on his final walk from TA, to Wetherby. I’d love to be sat with him tonight talking over a Brandy.

But Alf, if along the way your system is sussed, do you not change. If your bucket starts to leak do you not try, in some way. to fix the leaks? Rather than thinking well my bucket worked last year.
