First Viviani and now Sorensen both lost. VERY VERY disappointing. I'm thinking someone our end is not doing their job properly, because the best 2 prospects were both willing to sign. I'm truly gutted

{Ed003's Note - Have you not got it ? your new owner wont pay stupid money to foreign agents - you were all for this kind of frugal spending a few days ago.}

Yes Ed. But surely MC knows all the finances involved when he says the deal is confirmed. I can understand if they never get off the ground, but not when they fail after the owner says the deal is done!

{Ed003's Note - but maybe (pure speculation) terms with the player were agreed but agent got greedy (pure speculation) Speedy.}

Disappointing he wouldn't sign but there are 100s of decent cb around. the lads heart probably wasn't in it. agree with ed3. we have not got money to burn. its not the end of the world. sometimes passion and desire are something money can't buy. at lufc we have an owner and fans that have it in bucketfulls. put the rm deal the other way round would you pay 10m the guy was worth 3 to 4 m tops. I may be wrong about mc (hope not) but passion and desire are priceless. 3-1 to leeds today. a good result today and they will be queging up to sign for the whites mot just need mc to clarify is it a Viking or deputys uniform I should be wearing at millwall today as the wife needs to iron them

My guess is Juve picked up on Leeds fans and the media calling Sorensen a very good player and a bargain for an equivalent English player so they upped the price driving down the agent's cut as a result. The agent wasn't happy so he just upped his commission and the deal fell apart when Cellino realized everyone was getting greedy. This is what happens with transfers of this nature. It depends on the increase of course but if I had Cellino money (I wish) I would have given in on that occasion. We need another centre back and Sorensen probably would have stopped almost everything in this league. Not good. Hope you are reading Massimo. In a couple of years Sorensen could be worth 20 million.

My final say on this matter: I agree with you integrity, and with what Ed is posted. I support MC in his philosophy of not getting ripped off and not standing for any bull., and of course we only want players who would kill to play for us, and of course we will never actually know what happened, its all speculation. But, I repeat (for the final time) - we did get many millions over the odds for Ross, and I suspect we will shortly have several million more for Sam (and perhaps Matt Smith) - so I just hope that we don't turn down potentially 'make a difference' players such as Viviani and Sorensen, for the sake of say a paultry 100K just out of stubbornness. Anyway, can't make the journey today but I'll be there in spirit - let's prove all the doom merchants wrong!

SPEEDY
Its pretty obvious MC has a limit to what he pays and a cap on high wages. If you break this structure its a waste of time putting it in place in the first place.
We don't know why the 2 deals broke down but if MC said someone was going to sign then its pretty OBVIOUS the player/agent/leasing club up the anti.

ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE MATE AS ED POINTED OUT.

Agree with wage cap, greedy agents etc, but don't say a deal is done until signature is on the contract.Happened with vivani same story.I understand not paying over the odds but why say it's 100 percent done when it isn't.
