Ok, whilst I get the 'if it's not broken, why fix it' addage, given Morrissons recent performances and his work rate yet inability to convert, would anyone, if (in a position to do so) change his position? There have been a couple of articles to suggest it would be worth putting him just in front of defence opening up space for a more reliable striker who can convert! If so who would you drop to the bench (Murphy? Austin?) and which striker would you play instead?

PPeacock, I currently would not change it. Although not scoring Morison has been effective in the lone forward role due to his ability to defend from the front and his physicality proving a nuisance to centre backs who would normally build attacks from the back. One of the other strikers on our books would not be able to play that role i.e. Sharp - A finisher but not mobile enough to do the hard yards on his own, Antenucci - Mobile but not a physical presence (crap in the air), Doukara - Has the physique to do the role but is bone idle. Admittedly we do need a plan B because sides will again work us out - maybe N'Goyi will provide the physical presence in midfield that will allow us to play 4 in midfield and thus play with 2 up front. If Redfearn continues to play this formation next season then we will need to bring someone better than Morison because although he is doing a job at the moment we would be unable to mount a serious promotion challenge with a non-scoring forward

I've got to say Notts that I've not read a post of yours I disagree with, spot on again mate!

After watching the game in Sat, on Sly sports, I wouldn't change a thing

OK so Morison is a striker, and I know that Strikers are supposed to score goals but, by 'eck if it hadn't been for Morisons defensive abilities at corners on Sat, I'd hate to think what might have happened!

His day will come, not yet, but it will come

Notts, I get it but as I said in my original post I am just bringing the debate to this forum as it has been published on others (not by my origin). But should nt a striker be scoring goals? I understand everyone needs to defend 'at times' and every player on the pitch should be giving 110% but we are not converting enough goals or getting shots on target - where we are they are not coming from the front man! We are scrapping out results and whilst I will take the points every time - like u said - they will work us out and we don't have plan B! Don't get me wrong I am not a Morrison hater - he is doing a good job - just not as a striker ( hope he change that - but not looking favourable - please prove me wrong).

PPeacock, just giving my opinion to the debate you started (I am not criticising you but I think it is important to validate opinions with reasons why). The conundrum we have at the moment is that none of the other strikers we have can operate as a lone striker therefore to incorporate other strikers the formation needs to change. In that instance there may be just cause not to play Morison as part of a striking pair as I feel that he operates more effectively as a lone striker

I don't think anyone would dispute that a striker needs to score goals, but there is a bigger picture here. We have won 5 out of 6 and kept clean sheets in the last 3 games with this formation and with Morison up front. As long as this sequence continues I don't care if he doesn't score because his overall value to the cause is worth more than goals at this moment.

Don't think any one would want to change anything at this point as we are winning. Long term notts is right we can't keep playing a striker if he does not score, is there another place for him to play, no.Do we have another striker who can play alone ,not that we have seen, maybe cani. If we want a striker who can defend put Cooper up there he has scored more goals than Morrison. Next season we need pace in midfield, wingers or not, cover for Taylor and a striker who score goals

I would ask how many chances have we created for Morrison to score from? I really don't know as I've not seen every game he's played recently so I'm prepared to be shot down in flames.

IMHO, if Morro scores 1 then he'll bag a load. He just needs the confidence.
