Right formation for me last night but the wrong personnel in it. Murphy and Adeyemi both play too deep and therefore left a huge gap between the midfield and attack leaving strikers isolated. Our left and right wingers were constantly shut down by their right and left backs/midfielders which led to Murphy and Adeyemi hitting hopeful direct balls to our forwards. The only player (Cook) we have who is capable of collecting the ball in midfield and driving at the defence was stuck on the left wing for best part of 70 mins. It summed it up for me when we had a free kick just inside our half, it was played short to Cooper who looked up to see Adeyemi and Murphy stood about 10 yards for him both marked, neither trying to create space, Cooper turned and played it back to the keeper. Too many players had bad games again, Dallas, Berardi and Wood's touch and passes were poor, Murphy and Adeyemi went missing for large parts of the game and Silvestri was at fault for their goal with a cowardly flap at the ball. Listening to the Rosler interview after the game, he was honest enough to admit our failings but it strikes me that he focuses too much on how to negate the oppositions strengths instead of working out how to score against opponents, proof of this is that we rarely troubled their keeper
