Slovenian goalkeeper Darjan Curanovic hopes his trial at Leeds is successful enough to secure him a permanent switch to Elland Road.

The 27-year-old stopper was close to sealing a move to Middlesbrough and Portsmouth last season but nothing materialised.

And now Curanovic hopes that Yorkshire could be the place for him as he looks to fulfil his dream of playing in England.

"One of the goalies at Leeds United hurt his arm so they invited me to train with them. If everything goes by the plan there is also a chance for me to sign for Leeds, " he told Sport TV.

"Every player dreams about playing in England so I really hope that this will become reality for me. "

This story has already been rubbished - see below.
Its just lazy journalism. No Leeds Keeper has an arm injury either. Check out Thom Kirwins tweets. This story is bull ****.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many more goalies do we actually need then?

Leeds united to buy back elland road stadium ahead of a majour refurbishment and expansion in the beeston area. #LUFC #MOT

Believable38 Unbelievable50

It would have to be a pretty serious expansion to extend out of the Beeston area.

Agree8 Disagree2

If GFH had the money to buy our ground back I don't think we would be waiting to get rid of players before we brought new in

Agree2 Disagree1

Be fantastic if we do buy back ER and TA, at this moment in time more concerned with potential signings if bein honest.

Agree2 Disagree1

Spot on George, await with intrest another show of ambition from GFH Murphy was a start but us fans want to see a few more players of similar potential coming in, not constant frees and loans.

Agree1 Disagree0

Who said gfh are buying it back? Roumer has it red bull are buying it. Mot.

Agree0 Disagree2

Wake up will you can't just keep signing players without getting rid of some aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't have to sell to buy more players, we have to get rid of the deadwood to free up wages. Different thing. GFH won't pay wages for nowt. No serious business would

Agree0 Disagree0

Building a club isn't all about investing in players. Buying back the ground would be a massive signal of intent, surely you can see that?

We've got a stable team who could well challenge this season, without making any rash signings. let's get our house in order rather than blowing money left right and centre on marquee signings.

We're all about long term visions now, not short term fixes. Personally, I'd rather get the ground back and not get promoted this season. It shows that the owners have a longer term plan than "Lets rush back into the Premiership because that's where the money is".

Agree0 Disagree0

GFH Can afford it and will be buying back elland road for an expansion

Agree0 Disagree0

They won't expand a stadium they can't fill so its on us to fill it an show some support for the club. I have my tickets. Not a ST holder or member (yet) but doing my bit. They will invest if we invest too

Agree0 Disagree0

They GFH provide a team on the pitch which can challenge and excite, then the fans will come back, if not crowds will again be poor, back in the summer of 89 ambition was shown and some top quality signings were made, the feel good factor&buzz and the team in them days ensured full houses, I hope to see another 2 to 3 signings coming in before august 3rd, not loans and frees but more players like murphy up and coming and hungry, who, l help improve the team and squad and get the fans excited.

Its been confirmed No Leeds goalkeeper has broken his arm. This keeper was referring to Jason Steele at Middlesborough 2 years ago when he nearly joined them after a trial. Where the Leeds link has come from is anyone's guess! Leeds no2 Jamie Ashdown has had a minor FOOT op not his ARM.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lazy Journalism it seems in this case digging up a story from 2 years ago from his trial at boro, this keeper it seems did train with us last week, but nothing came from it.

Brian McDermott said today that 'talks ate ongoing' to secure the services of the forth Leeds signing this summer. Need at least two players off books before it can happen

Believable33 Unbelievable18

Eddie grey in YP reckons it is a centre half. Personally I think a winger should be priority. Imagine makay-Stevens & adomah on wings!

Agree3 Disagree2

Simple solution - get rid of Brown, Norris, Varney and Pugh for starters. Complete rubbish.

Agree4 Disagree1

Norris is a good squad player but the rest had agree with

Agree1 Disagree4

Easier said than done getting rid of any of our deadwood.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd keep Norris too, hard worker and plenty of energy. It says something though doesn't it that despite being only 2 weeks or so from the start of the season nobody whatsoever is linked with signing the likes of poo, brown, varney etc.

Agree0 Disagree1

Shows how bad things had become at the club, that the likes of Varney, Tonge Brown, Pugh x2 were brought in, cheap options, as the saying goes "you get what you pay for"

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think we need 3 players, 2 wingers and 1 centre half, whether we can afford that is a different question

Agree1 Disagree0

Not really a simple solution who is going to buy Brown? Varney is a good player and so is Pugh good utility player and Norris is a squad player. Drury, Ryan Hall players that we don't need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney and Pugh good players? Are you serious?!

Strong rumours that Gary Kelly is coming back as assistant coach to U21s. Thoughts?

Believable39 Unbelievable32

I think 'good'. He was very shoddily treated by the Bates Junta IMO

GARY KELLY LEGEND!

I trawl most leeds forums, rumour sites, and twitter and have never seen this rumour anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

I also heard this rumour, looks like word gets about quickly. Heard he will join middle of this week.

Slovenian keeper, Curanovic, apparently on trial with Leeds is claiming he may be about to join due to another keeper breaking his arm.

tv

Believable12 Unbelievable30

Rejected by portsmouth!

Agree0 Disagree0

Which keeper broke his arm? Kenny and Cairns have both been playing and Ashdown has a problem with his toe so who s he talking about?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is just trying to make a name for himself, he did the same when training with Portsmouth, BMc won't be signing him

Agree1 Disagree1

He wasn't rejected by Portsmouth, he rejected them!

Agree0 Disagree0

He was talking about when he was going to join Boro, it was their keeper who broke his arm. Another wrong news report

Agree1 Disagree0

Watched him in a few games and i'd have him over ashdown everytime, great gk he is and him and kenny would b great

I have heard the deal for Gary mackay stevens is set to be done for the end of this week ohhhhhhhhh Brian McDermott mot

Believable49 Unbelievable31

No not true he wnt join us

Agree1 Disagree2

Keep dreaming pal

Agree0 Disagree1

The lad looks dynamite at Youtube, but I've watched him in a couple of full matches. He tries and fails his magic so many times for each success shown at youtube, and his defencive work is terrible. There's a reason why he was released from PL. Exiting player, but needs improvement to be a regular at Leeds! Sure we really want him?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2013 19:16:02
As opposed to Varney weaving his magic? He'd be a good signing!

Agree1 Disagree0

Varney scores headers and works harder than stevens

Agree0 Disagree4

We have Hunt and smith to score headers. We need someone to get the ball to the final third and s**t full backs up a little

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah the reason being he picked up a serious injury while playing for the academy at liverpool that's why he got released {Ed001's Note - there were a few other issues, immaturity mainly, that led to his release.}

Big rumours that Gary mackay-steven is the man Brian McDermott is looking at. He believes he will make leeds a more dominant force on the wings. He is a quality player hope these rumours are true
