Looking at Blackstock's goal ratio he's no better than Hunt or Varney - Smith and McCormack should be given an extended run up front as first choice strikers, Hunt and Varney in reserve on the bench.
Dont waste wages on another striker with a poor goal ratio - we need a winger with pace and an end product. That said the starting 11 and the formation against Birmingham looked good - same again against Huddersfield.

Stop moaning. there's players who just need a fresh start to hit form its happened loads of timrs why don't u just give him a chance and stop complaining
2.) Original poster, please can you clarify where a winger will fit in, in a diamond formation or the 3-5-2?
As we don't even have 1 winger, to employ in any fashion we would need to sign 2 so any formation is balanced.
Working with the formations he is, BMD has enough cover.
Agreed that Blackstock may not be the answer, but this is a short term loan and if he scores 4 in 4 1-0 wins I will be happy.

The combination of Smith and McCormack up front supported by Austin etc. looked the business.
I rate Brian Mac as our best manager since we dropped out of the PL, however I am puzzled why its taken him so long to give Smith a start up front with McCormack as they can both finish and compliment each others skills. Smith showed he could finish with head and feet in the friendly game at Farsley - so why he was behind Hunt and Varney is hard to fathom.
Hope Brian Mac sticks with the starting 11 we had today, and the 3, 5, 2 formation worked really well -keep it up!

1.) Tbh we got a lucky break today, gift of a first goal and the second killed them off. Smith won't probably play that well all season.
2.) You picked up on Smiths finishing with his feet. Austin and mccormack missed there one-on-one's in front of goal, Smiths berried his top corner (the one that was offside). There work well cause you don't need to play a killer pass/flick on to Mccormack get anywhere near him and he'll do the rest. And for a CF Mc's chips/crosses are immense just what smith wants in return.
