mmmmm Benito Carbone in Leeds? Visiting old friends, or. ?

Slingsby White

{Ed013's Note - Taking over the academy is what I am hearing. Where does that leave Redders}

1.) Yes thanks Ed - just hearing that. Would be very very sorry to see Redders go. He has been a great servant

Slingsby White

2.) Thought the academy was managed by Richard naylor? And the reserves/development squad was managed by Neil redfern?

3.) Redders to take over from BM? Carbone then slots in?

4.) I like a carbone pizza. it is folded

5.) I have read Neil is well thought of by Massimo. So he should be, in a club that has spent little on youth development (my preference to grow from within) Redfearn has been solid. Would make a great head coach. Thoughts?

6.) 26 Apr 2014 11:01:11
Slingsby White - have you seen Redders record as a manager - won only 13 from 63 games. Win %age of 20.
No way can be be the manager of LUFC - he's a fantastic coach but never will be a manager.

New consortium including Flowers and Farnan to meet GFH tomorrow for talks. Lucas - are you there? Legends Radebe, McCormack and McDermott singing from the same hymn sheet?

And they say they will match the Italian bid! MOT

Slingsby White

1.) Here we go again, another takeover plan, drawn out over months, with them giving little tidbits of information every few weeks, I just want it OVER! getting to the point where I really don't care, Cellino, Haigh/Flowers, GFH, Someone just buy us.

2.) Question is though have they got the financial backing to match Cellino because he and his family look like they're billionaires

3.) Please no, someone else with no money. The worse ship to sail is a partnership. This consortium has god knows how many people in it. This Italian has the loot and I would love to see him blow it at my beloved club

4.) No No No Not 2 consortiums! Big mistake, No money to invest. Not to mention all those paypacks 2 consortiums will drain from the club! Give Super Mario a chance. At least He has a pot to p. in!

5.) "This Italian has the loot and I would love to see him blow it at my beloved club"

Not done much with his own club has he? What makes you think he's in this for OUR benefit then?

6.) Exactly, it's one thing matching a bid for the club but can any of theses partnerships match his wealth? He may well be a complete turkey if he gets ownership but we need someone with deep pockets and long arms because every year it gets harder to play catch up with the big league.

7.) Simple let cellino buy the club with his millions to invest let's hope he gives McDermott the chance to prove him wrong which I think he will do so doesn't get leeds fans on his back

8.) Singing from the same skint hymn sheet

9.) TBF Cellino got Cagliari from Serie C to Serie and has spent a lot of moeny. It is the manager who decides what players they want (usually) if McD gets the funds and spend well they could be a good pair, providing Cellino keeps him on.

10.) Just been on calendar that he's bought the club paid gfh the 25m just waiting now for football league approval which he will get as he's started English company in his sons name done deal

11.) If we go with flowers etc expect to be in this division for a long time .we need hard cash to get out of the championship .its getting harder every year now the massive umbrella payments are being given to the relegated from the prem .go with cellino

12.) The club made an agreement and announced it pub locally, they would be selling the club to Eleonora ltd, Mr Cellini's family business. As far I know that is end of, unless he is not approved by the FL or drops his price akaSports Capitol(who I now hear are teaming up with another bunch of chancers, are they intending to pay full price now, what a difference a few days make)then it is a done deal.

13.) Cellinos lawyer who sacked BMD escorted off the premises at Elland Rd.

Cellinos bid sunk

Fawksey

14.) Whether you like it or not, if Cellino is serious about Leeds, he has the finance behind him, to do something about it, we don't even own our stadium and training ground? So he must have some idea what he's taking on, and how too go forward. Can't be any worse than we've put up with for years!

15.) 03 Feb 2014 20:20:32
It's really tempting to accept someone with lots of dosh, but the guy is a crook. People might say it's in the past, but who knows what kind of trouble he could get the club in if he tried anything here? He's a liar too. He first said McDermott was doing everything to get sacked, then after the furore he back tracks and says he didn't want to, and didn't have the authority to do so. He has already fed us bs before he has taken control.

No thanks.

16.) Ho hum. strange how farnan indicated he had the funds all set up but now needs to join forces with flowers who could not come up with funds before. partners always fall out

Yorkshire Radio to close NOW! And a new look website. GFH really have kicked the Bates era into touch. Now for some progress on the field. MOT

Slingsby White

1.) GFH must be absolutely skint we can;t even keep going a decent radio station on air has for progress on field dream on we aren;t getting anybody else in unless Haigh and Co fancy a game.

2.) I think this is a kick in the teeth to Leeds fans

I certainly won't be subscribing to lutv just to listen to games

3.) What are we supposed to do now on mach day? I can't afford to go week in week out and this was my only life line on match days. Gutted

4.) Had to happen yet another £ losing business connected to lufc, the only decent presenter on there were thom kirwin, whom I would not at all be surprised will now transfer over to lutv as it seems that along with the clubs website will be revamped.

5.) I preferred listening to Yorkshire radio

6.) Will miss yorkshire radio though, all the guys on there were great and did a great job with sport coverage good music too, bates era is really ending now, looking to the future now MOT.

7.) BBC Radio Leeds will now be providing match commentary. You can listen free online.

8.) Bates kicked radio Leeds out 7 yrs ago. Then he started Yorks radio. The tables have now turned, Radio Leeds will be providing commentaries for the forthcoming season. You have to feel for the Yorks radio staff, they did provide a good service but it's now a new regime at Leeds & quietly but surely GFH are making good progress! Investment on the field now urgently required, pretty sure it's not far away. MOT

9.) 30 Jul 2013 17:51:00
GFH are systematically taking apart Bates's empire and his boardroom pals are no more either. I think GFH don't know who they can trust and have decided to cut off all Bates projects in case he was still getting some form of benefit / income from these.
Lets hope that they have big plans in the offing and this is the start of a revolution towards new funding, new ideas and income generation.
Sad to see YR and the presenters depart but I hope GFH will replace it with something dynamic to attract the fans and advertisers.

10.) As usual some fans are engaging their mouth, or on this case their keyboard, before their brain has kicked in. As someone already said Radio Leeds will be doing commentary so you're still going to be able to listen for free. Hopefully Thom K will be offered a job with them {Ed013's Note - I think he is staying and being employed within LUTV}

11.) GFH first own goal IMO,

12.) The official accounts show that Yorkshire Radio traded at a loss of £600K last year. GFH have made a tough decision, but this money is better being put into the club?

13.) Yorkshire radio has lot millions of pounds over the last 7 years well done gfh for finally getting shut of it now I wonder if all these fans that said they would stay away until bates goes will return to help there club out you all know who you are

14.) Can't believe for years eople have been complaining about KBs vanity projects and their drain on club funds. now GFH have rid themselves of one of these vanity projects and some people are still whinging? make your minds up!

15.) I think this is another good move from GFH. They have got a contract with the tv again so back on tv Radio Leeds. YR never made money and even Bates had to plough Leeds United money into keeping it and other spin-off Bates projects alive.

If it don't make money and serves no real purpose any more then shutting it down is the right move.

16.) Personally dab radio was useless for me and many others who live abroad. so this seems a move in the right direction by gfh -
froggy

17.) Think your find the majority of fans are glad its gone, do hope though that thom kirwin is kept on in some capacity maybe on lutv.

18.) Radio Leeds will have every game live! jsut like they used too! when it was freee. well done GFH for this move!

shame we can't sign anyone

19.) Leeds to sighn scotish winger tomorrow eddie grays now available

20.) What new website? Still same old crap imo

21.) Another nail in a loss making organisation set up by KB to push his propaganda and shameful attacks on Leeds supporters if he thought they were getting above themselves by questioning his motives for our great club.

22.) That 600k loss could of went on a signing last summer "jetting off in a private jet plane kb won't be back again" should be sung on sat

c'mon u leeds

norn iron white
MOT

23.) For the record, I think Yorkshire Radio's coverage was excellent. The Friday and Monday evening shows in particular made its coverage as good as that of any team by any radio station, to my knowledge. Thom Kirwin was outstanding; and Eddie Gray was a objective and unsentimental pundit. Well done to them -and thanks. Radio Leeds have a hard act to follow. Chapel A

24.) Radio leeds has always been the better station I remember before they lost rights to do commentary they use to do a show on a thursday night called leeds united unplugged and for me adam pope is a passionate has they come even though he is a everton fan you can tell he cares about this club

25.) Loss-makers not needed by the club.
Don't think that we'll see the benefit of this until next year, though.
The winding-up costs will be about as high as the quarterly loss.
Keep faith with GFH. Another correct decision shows these guys actually know how to run a company.
CityWhite

26.) How anyone can complain that a cash cow like Yorkshire Radio has closed is beyond me. Sad for the staff, but tv should never have been banned in the first place.

This move isn't about limiting access for fans, its about increasing it, and mending bridges with the people that Bates messed about with.

Restoring the balance, that's what it's all about, and I'm all for it!

27.) Couldn't get Yorkshire Radio on DAB at my house in Huddersfield or my parents house near Skipton, so it was basically useless.

After that performance, thank goodness we didn't get Matt Mills!

West Ham bid for Snodgrass - £5m. Although Hughton says he is not for sale, I don't suppose our old Board were able to secure a sell-on clause? That would be too much to hope.

Slingsby White

1.) Knowing our luck mate it wouldn't have even sprang to mind, even a 5-10% sell on would have been handy

Matt Smith done deal. Now Mills and Hunt to follow within days. Kevin Doyle not fancying Celtic, so maybe he is the next? Trust in Brian - he has a plan.

We won't be the only Championship club in the firing line. But MC has been very clever - getting a big squad together in case we have an embargo, and spreading the purchases over different financial years. Another sign of a very astute businessman.

Sky joining the doom merchants. We can live without Sky - £55 a month saved.

Now, onwards and upwards with Cellino, and let's see the faces of those doubters in a couple of years.

While I am prepared to give MC a chance, and even though I doubt the Hockaday decision, this Andre Blackman thing worries me. Not because of his non league status, but more of discipline and attitude issues quoted in the past.

If this is true it will make up for being underwhelmed over Hockaday. Could be the link needed.
