ssn reporting an undisclosed fee has been agreed with Southampton for Billy Sharp - knows how to put the ball in the net!

{Ed013's Note - It all stinks of Sam Byram to me if you know what I mean}

Yep, it's going to be one of those where they let us have him to sweeten the deal.

2.) 12 Aug 2014
Sam Byram deal may be involved but I would take Billy Sharp plus cash for Byram any day, we desperately need a goal scorer.

3.) 12 Aug 2014
Defo agree with Ed, Byram going the other way. him staying on the subs bench tonight makes it seem even more likely to me. Kinda disappointed if he does go. Personally show a bit of a lack of ambition. But hey I'm just a cynic!

{Ed013's Note - Will need him for a few games longer now with suspensions unless he is bought and loaned back}

Agree with Billy. A full back who doesn't want to play, a guy who knows where the net is plus a wadfull of cash it's a no brainer MOT

5.) 13 Aug 2014
Not impressed if it happens Sharp is not good enough to push for the premiership next season ;(

Have to agree Ed. Southampton surely now have a right of first refusal if they stump up 7.5 million. I can see Sam going on last day of window as Cellino balances the books still further.

I agree with Andy, billy Sharp has lost the knack of putting the ball in the back of the net.unless the hock is a miracle worker, think that the whole deal could go #### up. Especially if it is linked as a sweetener for BYRAM. plus he's always said he would never sign for Leeds.
I hope I'm wrong and the hock does his so called magic., but we've still to see the boy hunt revive his goal scoring Career.

Billy was due to sign for Leeds when Newcastle bid for Beckford, but it went tits up when Beckford scored that goal at olde toilet. And we asked for more money. He even signed a Leeds shirt in the cross scythes for a young fan.( Not sure if u can put the pub name in ed) so all this about he won't play for leeds is wrong. Think been messed about by us made him a bit sour though. Any how he played in a crap donny side towards the end off last season and made goals and got 6 in 22. By all accounts Saints manager has said he's been impressed by sharpe and he's in good shape

Apparently the saints have agreed a fee with Dull city for Shane long £12 million? So it could be 1 in 1 out also, but like you've all said you get the feeling it's not the end of the link with Sam? Also a few reports say its on a free but others saying it's an undisclosed fee, think if it's a free that could well be a sweetener, BUT a great night to be a Leeds fan last night with 2 good young centre backs signing and we won, I just wonder if we're going to get that flying winger were all crying out for?

£12 million for Shane Long is just staggering. Saints have been trying to rid themselves of Sharp's contract since 1.5 seasons ago. I think this is a 1 in, 1 out scenario and not related to Sam Byram. If we sell Byram, which I'd hate to see, because his would-be replacement just scissor kicked a guy yesterday, I'd hope we get full cost (£8-10m).
