If Cellino offers Monk only a one year deal, it doesn't look like he is the 'special' manager he was banging on about. Doesn't show much confidence in his selection to me. Will this have any effect on the likes of Charlie Taylor when it comes to deciding whether to stay or go?

Agree 1 year deal shows lack of confidence and ensuring that he can sack the chap without losing too much cash. Doesn't give me any confidence that Monk will be given the time to build the team and to correct matters if everything doesn't go to plan from the start which often it doesn't. Good appointment in the circumstances but still laves a lot of uncertainty and doubts because of the contract. Cellino and Monk have already disagreed about the No. 2. Doesn't bode well. Just have to wait and see as usual.

again negitive for sake and MC and manager can't win, many have said we want someone to stand up to mc and keep him out of football matters, monk has stood up to mc and mc has let monk take charge. this is a positive and what people wanted nothing negitive with this.

Error not to provide a 2 year deal but Hock and Loser put paid to that.

i think the short term contracts offered are something to do with ffp rule's short term contracts don't carry a lot of liability.

BW I'm not being negative for the sake of it as suggested. I could accuse you of being completely blinkered and oppose anything bad said about Cellino but I don't. For the record, I think he has made a good appointment but if we were to believe his spin about the next manager of Leeds being special yaddy ya, then surely he should've backed him with a longer contract. He says the right things in a press conference but rarely backs them up. Just saying!

Oh yeah and welcome home!

Knowing Cellino he probably thinks we get promoted then sack him get someone else who will get us into the champions league in first season. any way would like to wish Mr Monk all the best marching on together.

Nit you mm your post make sense are balanced and iften very funny I was on about Hess. Everyone saying we need a manger to stand up to mc and when monk does he says this is bad, I see fault in mc but there is so much bias against him and some is unfounded or kicking him befor he does it. Like this example if monk caved and used mc man most of us inckuding me would be moaning and saying this is bad however the opposite happens and he still gets moaned about by Hess. Some people just can't win, let's hope monk for Leeds ain't one of them.

No worries BW. Call me Mad Paranoid Mick from now on lol!

Fair point what you're saying. I'm actually pleased we've got Monk. He may not be first choice as manager but he may have stumbled on the best candidate by his failure to land one of the others. He's young, ambitious and has Premier experience albeit for only 20 months.

I only wish he'd offered him a two or three year deal to give us a bit of stability and maybe reassure the young bucks that the future is bright at Leeds.
