Deal for Blackman set to be confirmed today. I'm struggling to get excited about this one in all honesty. not sure it will help us to strengthen but then again maybe having the right keeper is a key component in Bielsa's strategy and the way he plays? perhaps BPF is just not the right man and we cannot move forward without someone else (I assume if that is the reason it must be down to ability with the ball and being able to play out from the back? ) . anyway, let's get this done and then hopefully move on to some much needed outfield additions. Bielsa looking to land a striker, midfielder and defender before the end of the window by all accounts. Perhaps he is signing the 'core' of the team and the rest will fit around them.

Apparently we have made enquiries to Wet Sham about their midfielder Domingos Quina. highly rated youngster.

1.) 12 Jul 2018 16:52:52
We been making enquries, talking to, negotiating with, blah, blah, blah all summer with various players and. Nothing!

2.) 12 Jul 2018 19:43:49
One for the futre

3.) 12 Jul 2018 20:25:40
I keep having to tell you Martyn that he retired like 15 years ago

4.) 12 Jul 2018 22:42:57
Every morning I check the Leeds rumours. All sorts of potential and actual good players linked. But slowly the names fade away as they are replaced by other names, and then those names fade and replaced by more names etc etc. Lower mid table and a lot of "what ifs" . again, and a new manager by xmas. I'd take this at the bookies but the odds are probably only about evens.

The list just keeps growing doesn't it? Only one sorted from the list, plus "one for the future"! Frustrating doesn't even cover it right now.

{Ed001's Note - Ben Wilmot joined Watford 1st July. He is available on loan though.}

2.) 06 Jul 2018 13:50:52
thanks Ed

{Ed001's Note - very welcome alf.}

Bielsa joins on an initial 2 year contract. early reports indicated it would be a 1 yr so it is good work to have agreed a further year.

alftupper

1.) 15 Jun 2018 13:31:26
Plus with both parties having the option of a third year too. Much better than the initial one year deal bandied about, as you say. Hopefully the management, and the fans, will now show some patience, and allow the guy to build from the bottom up.

2.) 15 Jun 2018 16:48:38
And a reported £20M to play with :)

3.) 17 Jun 2018 11:35:28
Should be 20mill plus. Two share sales about 18 mill, Wood money 5 ill season ticket sales, plus any outgoings. Looking forward to see who we sign.

13 Jun 2018 16:53:36
some outlets reporting Bielsa deal is complete and announcement to be made as soon as his work permit comes through. The Leeds Rollercoaster gearing up for another circuit fellow Leeds fans and sufferers.

alftupper

1.) 13 Jun 2018 21:58:16
According to Argentine news the work permit is now granted.

2.) 14 Jun 2018 00:56:54
yes looks like we've finally gt our man sounds like he's going 2b on a lot of money just 4 1 season he's prob going to have 2 gt us up 2 prem 2 justify payin him a big wage 4 1 season

3.) 14 Jun 2018 11:14:26
He will get us promoted! He is such a good manager yes he’s volatile but we need someone with some bottle and not just another yes man!

4.) 14 Jun 2018 13:31:29
You're right Davey. We are Leeds, and we need someone passionate, with bottle and the potential to be volatile.

5.) 14 Jun 2018 19:04:52

Is it about time we launched the 'Fu*k off Radz' and 'Please come back Massimo' campaigns?

alftupper

1.) 11 Jul 2018 14:03:49
At least he's being frugal not throwing it away on exotic endangered aquatic species

2.) 11 Jul 2018 14:05:42
Why ?

3.) 11 Jul 2018 14:09:48
Not quite. Although I liked the rapid change of manager. It was interesting. Always something going on. Not like now. Zzzzz

4.) 11 Jul 2018 14:34:35
Maybe our new back line of Pontus Nessy and Pooper will become the equivalent of Stones Walker and Maguire 🐷✈. The important thing was to send better defenders than Pooper out on loan.

Hi one and all I'm back from Russia after an amazing holiday (get yourselves out there if you can before the World cup is over - St Petersburg in particular is stunning and the atmosphere is incredible) . what did I miss? other than the new manager and the signing of baker have we been linked to anyone else?

alftupper

1.) 04 Jul 2018 13:57:37
Just about everyone and anyone the press can think of alf

2.) 04 Jul 2018 14:47:11
The press seem to be going thro the phone book linking us with everybody from 8 to 80 (or so it seems) The only disappointing news is that Mbakogu has slipped tho our fingers but we are still chasing Hernandez to replace him.

12 Jun 2018 15:49:25
what do you all think of the new Huddersfield Town badge?

alftupper

1.) 12 Jun 2018 16:02:44
It's terrierble Alf! 🐶😂

2.) 12 Jun 2018 16:11:29
About attractive as bulldog chewing a wasp

3.) 12 Jun 2018 17:22:11
It’s better than our new one looked! Must have the same designer team! Stevie Winder and Ray Charles Designers Ltd! 🙈

4.) 12 Jun 2018 19:00:18
Haven't seen it but I hate it.

5.) 12 Jun 2018 18:31:41
Was it also the result of 6 months research and 10,000 consultations . it certainly looks like it, thought our gaviscon badge was poor but that one is at least equally as bad.

6.) 12 Jun 2018 20:46:37
Looks like a mutant batman!

7.) 12 Jun 2018 21:49:07
Denim. I just saw what you did there :)

8.) 13 Jun 2018 09:24:41

Congrats to our young lions Vietnam’s Pearce on the Toulon tournament win! You’ve done us proud lads.

alftupper

1.) 10 Jun 2018 09:36:40
Damn autocorrect ! Vieira and Pearce? Well done boys . now just persuade that Cook lad that he should be on the move to a big club

2.) 10 Jun 2018 12:23:47
Vietnamese! No wonder if took so long sorting his contract, must have been a hold up with his work permit. lol

07 Jun 2018 18:54:54
Really enjoyesd the Mike Tyson write up Ed001 - thank you. I remember Iron Mike from when i was a bit younger and he was an absolute demon. no boxer before or since was as feared or as destructive.

alftupper

1.) 07 Jun 2018 20:50:32
Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, they were all before iron mike, and were just as feared and brutal.

2.) 08 Jun 2018 10:18:24
Iron Mike pre robin givens was definitely the meanest. Lost it after all the divorce etc.

3.) 08 Jun 2018 16:09:35
Smoking Joe Frazier would have left Tyson as a mess on the floor, he was a real streetfighter, although the fabulous Ali gave him a lesson or two

some season long loans have a recall option built in to the contract. it depends on what the club decides on.

Baghdad Bouneedjah currently playing in Quatar. Runoured to be a £13.5 million deal and prolific goalscorer (129 goals in 186 games) albeit in a poorer league.

personally i think they were poisoned by our own government as part of a political agenda. The other 2 victims were nothing to do with espionage but a similar MO? it suited may to blame Russia but she has been much less outspoken about the second case.

Bournemouth were fined about £4.5 million - hardly a punishment if the risk brings the £120million premier TV deals is it? If someone siad they would give me £120 in return for a fiver i'd take it.

We need 3/4 world class players to truly compete and we only have 1 - Harry Kane. The hope is that some of the youngsters will develop into world class players in the next 2-4 years plus some of the more promising youngsters from the U20s and U17s to fill out the numbers. simply not good enough this time but this tournament was never about us winning but gaining experience and building for the future. sounds like Leeds.

I can see the signings all being loans with the money we have spent on wages. we seem to be trying to loan quality youngsters and hoping Bielsa can coach them to success. we will be like England mark 2 depending on youth, teamwork and a good plan to take us forward.
