Leeds in advanced talks to sign Meslier permanently, triggering his £5m release clause.

17 Feb 2020 10:44:17
some sources hinting at a battle going on between Augustin and Bielsa behind the scenes - Augustin not happy that his fitness levels are being critisised and Bielsa's iron will and standards at the other side. If true, hope Aug sees the light, knuckles down and delivers what we need for the last few games - namely a huge contribution and lots of goals.

1.) 17 Feb 2020 11:57:07
Probably bs from these ' sources'. there is no doubt that JKA arrived not in anyway near peak fitness .

2.) 17 Feb 2020 15:44:46
its not a difficult story for a journo to come up with is it?

3.) 17 Feb 2020 16:02:38
Read that too, but I call cow poo on that report! It was Michael Brown purely speculating, and if I remember correctly, included the phrase Augustin”might be feeling. ” blah blah blah. The guy always has a smile on his face.

4.) 17 Feb 2020 20:17:25
Michael Brown and Noel Whelan . rank mediocre players . stick to ' ' punditry 'on your teams Sheff Utd and Coventry City respectively lads . thanks.

5.) 18 Feb 2020 08:21:53
Yet the player himself has said all the right things on arrival and is fully committed to playing his part when called upon said a source close to myself.

Easy innit?

We’ve sold 110000 shirts this year. At £40 each that equates to £4.5m in sales nitro mention other merchandise. And yet we are still broke. How?

1.) 31 Jan 2020 08:57:22
Paying silly wages for Bamford and Casilla. It’s meant that other team members want parity. The yearly wage for those two and KP amount to £4.5m alone, not to mention Klich costa cooper Dallas Ayling and foreshaw.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 09:57:02
Took the words right off my finger tips Ali!
Add in all of the rest of the paid staff, ER running costs on a daily basis, TA running, upkeep, even running cost of things like ticket offices, merch stores, marketing, grounds men and the myriad of other overhead costs; Football is a loss maker. It’s how much you lose that needs to be managed.

3.) 31 Jan 2020 09:57:57
That said, those shirt sales alone are amazing, and the grey one is our best selling second strip EVER!

4.) 31 Jan 2020 10:52:04
The running costs will not have altered much from previous years unless the rents gone up so the increase in costs must be down to wages. Previous years we have done ok so not sure why we are in such dire straits this season. When you quote £4.5mill then you need to take into account last season Bam was here on same wage so not all extra. kp and Bam maybe a million more than last season. Costa and Kiko on high wages but we did offload over 15 players in summer. Not adding up for me.

5.) 31 Jan 2020 14:17:31
Plus we were told at beginning of summer there was a 20mill fund for loan players so he is not paying their wages. This is Kinnear spin doctor again.

6.) 31 Jan 2020 16:14:52
that's net price btw distribution and costs to take off.

7.) 31 Jan 2020 16:59:33
£40 Alf? Not for. bodyfit there 70 almost double . Big big money generator.

8.) 01 Feb 2020 10:28:18
The vast majority of shirt sales go to the manufacturer, as part of the deal for them to be the manufacturer (clubs are estimated to get 10-15%, though maybe more at the lower leagues) . Admittedly there will be this years shirt deal money coming in and a small boost due to increased sales on last year, but it won’t make a massive difference between the two seasons.

The increased sales will however help us strike a better deal when it comes up for renewal.

{Ed001's Note - clubs do not get a %age except in very rare circumstances apart from the merchant's cut when the sale is through the club's own store.}

Latest striker to be linked is. Jean-Kevin Augustin! 22 years old, standing at a colossal 5ft 8in and contracted to Red Bull Leipzig but currently out on loan at Monaco. He has had limited chances at Monaco only appearing 13 times and scored 12 goals in 42 appearances for Red Bull last season.
This doesn't scream out 'goalscorer' to me but apparently he has great pace so maybe that is a benefit for us.
Ticks Radz boxes for being cheap and might turn out alright so Orta more than happy.

1.) 24 Jan 2020 16:40:32
Just read that. We are desperate for some blistering pace, so if the price is right.

2.) 24 Jan 2020 19:14:50
Read 3 goals in 532 minutes, nearly as prolific as bam bam.

3.) 24 Jan 2020 20:24:34
The boy has skills, and wheels.

23 Jan 2020 19:21:30
Poveda has passed his medical (although with some of our sick note signings I can't imagine what that actually involves - not dying while in with the Doctor presumably) so the deal should go through this evening or tomorrow.

1.) 24 Jan 2020 10:28:51
Apparently only has stress fractures to his tibia so once hip replacements done he is good to go.

Scottish leagues have ended their season and awarded titles, promotions and relegations etc.

1.) 18 May 2020 16:11:59
A brave and decisive decision.

12 May 2020 09:40:18
so under the new guidelines, no elite sport, even behind closed doors, can happen before June 1. It will be July at earliest before fans can be considered to return and even then imo it will be unlikely.

tbh he is out of contract in a few months so nobody could begrudge him thinking about the future. the question is if our powers that be are already having that conversation and if not why not?

Plus the Bielsa fitness regime could well play into our hands. After a nice rest there should be no burnout for a start.

Yea it is a matter of finance for anyone below the premier league. All the testing that needs to be done costs a huge amount of money and not all clubs can afford that particularly with FFP etc.

Its the last game of the season. Leeds could go up. they are playing at ER. You can get commentary on the radio or watch it on TV on your phone. Who wouldn't go to share the moment with the fans and players? If there are enough of you outside you can be heard inside the stadium.
