In total disbelief how we didn’t win that game.
I suppose a comedy of errors comes to mind.
This is not Farke’s fault, this is on the players who had all the opportunities to win this game, but didn’t.
Calvert-Lewin clearly is no where near his former best and could be some time to get there, although his instinct for positioning was good.
Their keeper had the game of his footballing career, happens often to us.
You just knew when it came to penalties we were never going to win it.

I think it’s going to be a slow start of the season for us, a lot of new players who are not settled in yet. I believe it will get better as we are creating chances, just hope we don’t lose too many points in the process.

Bogle and Solomon had a slow start to the season last year, they came good. The signings aren't the problem, the psychology of the team is.

Remember the start of last season when Rutter left? He played his last game against (Middlesbrough? ) and the whole team seemed down and lacking enthusiasm?
I think we are seeing a repeat of that. Piroe, arranson, ramazani, Schmidt, Harrison, gruev, Gnonto could all be leaving, or have left. That will drain the moral out of the training room.

Stach is obviously injured from the heavy knock he took and the rest need time to bed in.

There's someone who should be pulling the team together. I can't think who has that responsibility though.

It normally happens when you can't score goals, it's fairly basic premise really, Ball that cross 's white line more wins game.

Good post OP, sensible and well balanced.

Fully agree with your last paragraph that it will be a slow start (as it was in the previous two seasons as new players settled in) , but the crucial thing is not to leak too many points - grab what we can, wherever we can until it all comes together.

Well balanced post OP, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but obviously too many changes and no cohesion at all in the first half.

Totally understand peoples frustrations and it is very clear a number of players, Aaronson, Gruev and Piroe in particular looked well short of what we need for this season.

Thought Nmecha and Jack put in the requisite effort but lady Luck and an unbelievable goalkeeping performance put us out, personally not gutted, frustrated certainly, but for me EPL survival is the only thing that matters this season, and now we’ve lost AO as well for a few weeks.

Well done to Ani and Woody too, live chat was a great initiative from the Eds but somehow rather than a live opinion reasoned debate of the game, it’s become a sanctuary for the self righteous who never post on the main site, never make any meaningful contributions but are only there to carry on the legacy of the two recently exiled keyboard warriors and playground bullies.

Criticising is absolutely fine, but with context, what you would change, who would you play etc as Chris and Corkey do, but to be on live chat only to await a moment bad fortune just to massage your ego, even asking “who is right now” sorry that is just pathetically sad.
