Does anyone know if we are allowed to pick any of the returning loanees for the final three games?

Thinking of Cresswell, Shacks and Hjelde as they won't be involved in the play-offs.

Cleggy

{Ed002's Note - No, they are not available.}

Big, big opportunity tomorrow.

Win and we give ourselves a little bit of breathing space.

Forest played away in Europe on Thursday - sides which do that tend to struggle in the weekend matches.

We MUST take our chance (and chances) tomorrow.

No more Brighton-type performances please!

With you on this Cleggy, just can’t see the players we have being motivated. Players picking up easy money for doing little. Hope I’m wrong.

2.) 09 Nov 2025 00:30:50
That’s all well and good - but who exactly is going to take our chances
?

3.) 09 Nov 2025 01:57:43
No idea 1970. But I know somebody that won’t.

Before we go down the route of getting rid of Farke I would ask the following question - whom do we get in to replace him?

Nuno and Dyche have found new homes, as has Danny Rohl, Postecoglu would win us a trophy in his second season when he's taken us down into the championship, Mourinho is far too expensive and divisive, Gerrard simply isn't up to the job, Potter hardly covered himself in glory at the Hammers and as for the idea of Benitez coming out of the woodwork - fantasy land!

Be very careful of what you wish for.

Our only hope is to stick with Farke and trust that he can make the necessary calls each game and more importantly, get who he wants in the January window (CAM and a goalscorer to play up with DCL) .

Cleggy

1.) 02 Nov 2025 17:59:03
Why would Benitez be a fantasy?

2.) 02 Nov 2025 18:39:17
Too expensive for our owners.

3.) 02 Nov 2025 20:49:12
I've seen this question posted around the internet and it's disingenuous and a deflection away from the faults of Farke.

Were not paid to find his replacement. You can pay me to find it, sure but right now that's not my job, or the fans job.

Sticking with Marsch 2.0 will see us relegated.

4.) 03 Nov 2025 00:58:09
I suggested Benitez some weeks ago, but it's too late now as he's signed a 2 year deal to coach Panathinaikos. Cleggy was prob right about him being too expensive though as his new deal is for £3.47M per annum - don't think we'd have offered him that.

5.) 03 Nov 2025 11:05:16
Coberan or Will Still pls.

6.) 03 Nov 2025 11:58:24
Corberan is in the bottom 3 with Valencia and Will Still has been awful at Southampton hence being sacked. ????.

7.) 03 Nov 2025 12:38:19
Corberan has done well with the teams he has had to date. He kept an awful Valencia side up last season but the squad haven't got any better this year and its starting to show. He is still a good manager.

Still is a very good manager but Saints terribly run and possibly distracted by his wife's illness.

Poor, really, really poor.

Next Friday's game becomes even more significant (as if it wasn't before) .

I'm not a Farke in or out person but unless we get three points against the Hammers at home, he could find himself staring down the barrel!

Cleggy

1.) 18 Oct 2025 17:37:40
I knew the sack Farke would raise its ugly head as soon as we lose the next game.
This game was not on DF our players had opportunities to score and they didn’t.

2.) 18 Oct 2025 17:47:15
It's the world we live in OP - the pressure will mount if we don't get three points against the Hammers next Friday. Of that you can be sure.

3.) 18 Oct 2025 18:15:58
Opti, who was it on if not for Farke?

He set up wrong with his formation and played arronson and Harrison on the wings.

Burnley were poor.

We conceded another goal at a set piece and he refused to hire a set piece coach.

4.) 18 Oct 2025 18:30:08
Non of us want Aaronson or Harrison on the wings but what other wingers did we have available?

5.) 18 Oct 2025 18:47:52
He could adapt and overcome and not play wingers.

4-5-1 or 5-4-1, overload in midfield and play the ball to DCL/ Piroe (sub) .

Push Bogle and gudmundsson up the pitch knowing the midfield is strong enough to secure them.

6.) 18 Oct 2025 18:54:34
MOT surely your not blaming Farke?
No wingers to choose from Harrison should of gone and Arronson also!
Leeeds had enough chances to win the game . nobody would save that goal.

7.) 18 Oct 2025 18:55:32
OP that's a bit lame now really, it the lack of anything tactical EVERY TIME we are chasing games, he just floods it with ""attacking " players and hopes for the best

He never outsmarts other managers, . he more or less totally mute in games, he continues to pick Aaronson, he continues to pick Stujuk, he won't try push bogle further up, with JJ slotting In, Darlow time for a drop again, and he has. to let Bijol have a go

How's any of that on the players?

8.) 18 Oct 2025 20:04:56
We created chances but poor finishing, too many individual errors. Aaronson and Bogle should’ve converted their easy chances but didn’t.
Poor finishing by certain players was the reason we lost that game.

9.) 18 Oct 2025 20:55:38
If a person keeps telling himself a pork pie he eventually succumbs to its allure ?.

10.) 18 Oct 2025 23:01:55
Indeed Chris, you said it ?.

11.) 19 Oct 2025 08:37:27
Tunnel vision if that defeat is on Farke. Blinkered. Twisting everything and anything to fit the agendas of the moment.

12.) 19 Oct 2025 10:33:21
Indeed Bright, hindsight and agendas.
Sacking your coach is not always the way to elevate your club and Forest are that perfect example.
For me it’s when some or all the players are not behind the coach the it’s time for him to go.
Sacking coach’s is the fashion today, unless you are Chelsea with all Abramovich’s ill gotten money then sacking your coach after only weeks or months should not be even considered in my opinion.

Apologies in advance if someone has already written about this subject but I'm sat here wondering whether I should bother watching the England game tonight or not?

Although that sounds somewhat disloyal, it's really not intended to be, but please someone tell me where is the excitement, the challenge, the jeopardy in a World Cup qualifier against Latvia (all due respect to any Latvians who may be reading this! )

When I was growing up the world was a lot smaller - for better or worse (definitely the latter) , Latvia was part of the Soviet block, as were a dozen other states who now play in European group qualifiers. Ditto the combined state of Yugoslavia and one or two other nations who have since gone on to split up.

Fewer, stronger nations competing for far fewer places at a World Cup - the result of which meant that you were placed in a smaller qualifying group that contained one or two 'smaller' footballing nations and another big one, and the jeopardy of which was that there was only ONE spot available - winner took all (no extra knockout qualifier if you didn't make it as a group winners) .

Fast forward that to today and potentially we could be playing an Italy or Germany or France tonight for one spot - now that would get me sitting in front of the telly on the edge of my seat!

Surely it's time for some pre-qualifying tournament so that the smaller nations can have their own head to head battles before joining the likes of ourselves?

I know I'm shouting at the wind here - it'll never go back to the way it was, FIFA want more nations to take part at the finals (more money! ) , and therefore qualifying simply means turning up, pulling on your shirt and giving the compulsory pre and post match interview and you've all but qualified, but my GOD it makes it so boring!

Think I'll go to the pub instead - wonder if they'll be covering all-in mud wrestling from Uzbekistan again?

You're forgetting one thing Cleggy - Money.

2.) 14 Oct 2025 19:39:25
Very good post Cleggy and I think we have all felt similarly regarding the lack of excitement and jeopardy in these qualifiers plus the disruption to the top two domestic l3aues but I will say that Tuchel in the last few games has got the England lads playing the most watchable and entertaining football I've seen since Terry Venables in 1996.

Tuchal seems to have found this exciting version of England in the absence of Bellingham and Foden and deploying Rogers and Anderson who have risen to the challenge and I think are there to stay unless performances dramatically fall away or injury dictates the only exception I think Tuchel will make is Palmer when fit will be a certain starter but not in place of Rogers so probably in place of Gordon even though Palmer usually doesn't play on the left so maybe switch Saka to that side but apart from that the rest of the side that plays tonight will I think continue to be Tuchels England first 11 and has a definite chance of World Cup success.

Having said all that and sung their praises I hope I haven't jinxed it and it isn't yet another false dawn and so hopefully the side carries on in its current rich vein of form so I for one will be watching and I would recommend you give it at least the first 30 minutes to reignite your enthusiasm for watching England. enjoy.

3.) 14 Oct 2025 19:49:06
It is a bit silly cleggy I agree. I have seen loads of fb posts like how many goals haaland has scored for Norway and pickford has 8 clean sheet equalling banks.
But haaland would not score as many against the top World teams. Pickford has played against teams at times that don't have a shot all match.
But extra game means more money.
But it does make for dull games.

4.) 14 Oct 2025 20:02:20
From a purely football standpoint I've got some sympathy with your views Cleggy, but from a geopolitical standpoint I much prefer the mosaic of little friendly countries like Latvia etc than the old Soviet Union that Vlad the invader is trying to reinstate. BTW I will be watching the game - not a fan of all-in mud wrestling.

5.) 14 Oct 2025 21:17:49
Tuchel doesn’t care about big names which is good for the team. Players like Jude Bellingham, although a very good player, can be detrimental to what he’s trying to accomplish. There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance.
In saying that today’s players in general are a different breed from my heyday.

6.) 15 Oct 2025 09:13:49
For me the joy of the lesser teams making it though is their. Let’s just throw the kitchen sink at it attitude. The likes of Romania. Albania etc. attacking purity. And every now and then they upset a big boy. Think back to the upside down table recently with Germany. Pure delight.
But. I agree that some just have no chance. But. It’s a World Cup so the world deserves at least a chance.
No super league please.

7.) 15 Oct 2025 09:46:26
Great post Cleggy, I fell out of love with England under Gareth, who appears to be a very decent bloke, and a unifying force for good, for most things in life, well, other than winning trophies.

Throw in the meaningless friendlies and players simply going through the motions whist all their PR agencies tell us it was the greatest honour of their lives to represent their country.

Therefore, I’ve no problem with minnows playing the big guns usually they are naive but it’s better than the generic snail pace metronomic football on offer where it’s all about the result, it’s quite refreshing to see a minnow try and give a big gun a shock.

It’s starting to bear fruit in cricket with more and more shocks, Namibia beating South Africa.

I think it’s all the meaningless England friendlies and stupid mini leagues that have left a significant portion of England supporters feeling, non plussed, sadly indifferent about the national team.

I watch non league during international breaks, still some great entertainment and reminds me of the fight and passion that first attracted me to the game as a young boy.

Never thought about McKenna OP - interesting shout and one that might just work.

I have a feeling that the 49ers' will wait until the next four matches are out of the way then have a look. Unfortunately by then, we could find ourselves firmly in the relegation zone!
