If we don't loose anymore players, use Dallas and Alioski as fullbacks and bring in Ben White (as a center half) that is the defence sorted for me.

Philips, Foreshaw, Klich and Shacks as the 4 midfield options.

Bamford, Roofe and a new one in, as 3 options for strikers.

That leaves the 3 behind the front man. At the moment we have Pablo and Roberts, think we need another 4 quality players in, to cover our options here, that's 3 wingers and a number 10.

That would give us a squad of 22 plus hopefully we can use 3 or 4 of the U23's

Based on this we need to see 6 new players in, they need to be of a quality, that is is far better than last season as the challenge will be harder.
I do not believe the teams in the league are any better, just that our style of play is known and teams will set up to counter act that, plus the factor we lacked last season was the quality to convert our possession into goals

From my view point, if we don't improve the squad along these lines we may struggle for top six . We may cover some of the gaps with U23's but its the 4 attacking positions positions where we currently only have 4 players that would cause me the most concern.

1970, I think your 3 behind the front man options would most likely be hernandez, roberts, bogusz. Roofe has played there, shacks could. In addition, I'd say on their day alioski and dallas are quality wingers, their versatility is useful. Two more forward thinking wingers, i.e costa and kent, would solve the issue imo. Harrison a good squad player like dallas, good for legs and energy. White i like the look of, hope that's a permanent move. I'd say struijk, bogusz, halme, wilks, stevens, odour, edmondson, and kun are all worth looking at and will probably all go on preseason.

Your defence worries me 70. Dallas will do a job, but nothing more. If his name is on the team sheet it will not worry me whereas, Alioski should be nowhere near a first choice anything. Yes I appreciate he gives 100%, tracks back and runs, but so would a headless chicken. He cannot defend and he is not a winger. I hope to God Douglas has a storming, injury free season, and we pick an unplayable 20 goal, 20 assist winger.

Samo, including preseason we have about 50 games ahead of us this season, we should have 2 proven quality players for every position and try and develop some of the U23's alongside, or the squad will be just too thin.

Leeds, Dallas and Alioski would only be cover for first choice Douglas and Ayling

We need a squad that's good enough in depth so we can rest players if needed

My view is in the second half of the season when the players were not a fresh, we just did not have that little bit extra that we had up to Christmas

The players were willing, they tried very hard, the stats show we had the right tactics and created the chances, we just did not have the spark or form to cover for the quality we lacked.
