Personally, if Kalvin goes, you'd be questioning all the bold signings we are completing as its a bit misleading. In my opinion though, I think radz would have a chance to redeem himself here if kalvin was to go. 15-20 million is an awful lot, and for 5-10 million you could probably buy back ronaldo vieira. Who'd complain at that knowing how capable marcelo is at developing players?

For the record I wouldn't lose sleep over janssons departure, much rather him than phillips. Jansson always seems to rock the boat, very verbal about leeds yet if he was such a fantastic player he'd be in the premier league by now one way or another, someone comes calling for around 10 million, take it. Marcelo doesn't seem to keen on him, but he would need replacing. Ryan bennet of wolves maybe, Juan foyth, someone with a lot of composure who could fight ben white for places.

Agree on all fronts Samo!

Report on Talksport this afternoon from a french media journalist saying the deal is done, over in france they seem to think it'll be announced soon, leeds playing it down and denying it until the very last minute, in an attempt to try and prevent any collapse. Not sure what i think of it all.

Samowhite5

1.) 05 Jun 2019 16:12:53
well at least one thing is sure, these people do have money and they are reported to want to enter the English market .
I know we are all Leeds fans but stand back and look, other clubs with a fan base like ours are already owned or backed by money.
Newcastle would be a great buy but would cost a lot more .

2.) 05 Jun 2019 16:16:44
Really depends on what “The deal” is doesn’t it. Investment or takeover. We will see in time.

3.) 05 Jun 2019 18:03:42
I hope to god this is true. Dare we dream? Again?

4.) 06 Jun 2019 09:52:22
Ultimately, money talks and if they offer him enough then he will sell.

5.) 06 Jun 2019 12:17:13
I think Radz will try for an investment to buy deal, the guy seems determined to get us up, no matter what you think of him.

6.) 07 Jun 2019 19:03:37
al he is not determined to get us up, otherwise he would of done things differently he is determined to make as much money as possible nothing else.

Transfer IN's IMO:

Barbet, Lasogga, O'dowda, Bowen, Maupay, BIELSA.

Out's:

Saiz, Berardi, Bamford, Coyle, De Bock, Roofe, Anita, Ekuban.

You've then got to work with:

BPF, Casilla, Ayling, Dallas, Jansson, Cooper, Davis, Douglas, Alioski, Barbet, Bowen, O'dowda, Hernandez, Klich, Phillips, Shackleton, Clarke, Ideguchi, Stevens, Bogusz, Gotts, Maupay, Lasogga, Grot, Struijk, Edmondson, Kun, Odour, Miazek.

29 players is enough IMO, and those players are good enough.

Samowhite5

1.) 22 May 2019 14:05:47
Maupay would be a welcome signing. Is he for sale?

2.) 22 May 2019 15:11:49
Probably not, but to be fair, brentford have been a selling club in recent years, that Thomas Frank is a good manager though and will want to keep hold of his assets. Him, Barbet, Canos, Benrahma, Mokotjo, Odubajo, are all very good players that could play for a promotion pushing leeds side, I'd happily raid them.

3.) 22 May 2019 16:39:57
Bowen and Maupay both are well out of our reach financial
Shame as good players.

4.) 22 May 2019 16:40:59
Samo for ins either, O'Dowda or Jamal Lowe. For work with I would like to see McCalmont and Diaz also for the back line I would think about O'Connor, Shaugnessy and Pearce.

5.) 23 May 2019 16:07:24
Lasogga? I don't think he would last the first training session 😁😁.

13 Aug 2018 11:31:37
An appreciation post for the board, they don't always get it right but which board does these days, very few. Think radz has done exceptionally well, bielsa has been a real test of radz backbone and we've come out of the blocks flying, saying that didn't TC last year too. I see the next 3 weeks as the biggest of the season in all honesty, if we can keep up playing like that I think we might just break records this year, or we'll be brought back down to earth by the longevity of the championship. a great start though MOT.

Samowhite5

1.) 13 Aug 2018 12:26:12
Great post Samo, and I think you're right about the next 3 weeks. The difference between Bielsa and TC is that MB is strong and experienced, and holds respect from the players, whilst not tolerating poor attitude. If we hold it together, based on those two performances, we could break records. That said, I do expect us to lose at least one game this year! 🤔😱🤐.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 12:28:13
Still early days, you are right better idea by the end of month after Swansea and Middlesbrough. Interesting to see how teams try and cope with us. Also hard to get a feel for how derby and stoke will really do this year. They might not do quite as well as people suggest.

3.) 13 Aug 2018 15:08:09
OMG I have just finished on a job and having a quick brew before heading off. and daydreaming

Beisla as manager. O'Leary's babes as his talent pool

Talented keeper. Robinson could play with the ball at his feet

3 centre backs who could all play a bit. Woodgate, Radebe, Ferdinand

2 wingbacks that can defend but definite help in attack. Kelly and Harte (even Mills could)

Defensive midfielder to allow the centre backs the opportunity to roam. Batty

Centre forward who can play others in. Viduka

Wide midfield who can link with the centre forward. Kewell and Smith

If only.

4.) 16 Aug 2018 12:52:29
Imagine how good that team would have been if we'd have had 11 players!

03 Jul 2018 11:14:31
My theory is that they're going about this transfer window in the wrong way. I think leeds have said we'll put 10 mil a side for a striker, 2 mil for a keeper, 4 mil for a cb, and the rest to spend on wages. When you look at that its 16million. I think instead of trying to budget what we've got, we spend what we've got, meet asking prices, and sign players, if we stick to budgets that we have made without enquiries someone else will come in and pip us to it. Vydra needs at least 11m spent on him, I think after that youll be fine up front. Roofe, Roberts, vydra, personally should all be good enough. Ekuban and grot and cibicki can go.

An interesting debate which keeps cropping up on twitter feeds. Bogusz or Clarke? It's a tough one, 2 very raw players, Clarke had a good breakthrough season, and got his reward a little too soon IMO but that's how mad footballs gone. Bogusz looks like good business for the 400k we spent on him, and I see him being fundamental in a few years time. Klich is 29, bogusz is 17, sounds like an ideal long term replacement for that number 10 role. Clarke is only here on loan which makes me think he should be second fiddle in this one. Nketiah, Costa, Harrison, Bogusz, could all get into other starting 11 of most championship sides. Just feel as though we should focus more on what's ours than do poch a favour in developing jack? Different positions, different players, but I'd be more excited to see bogusz come on than clarke, and I think clarke will struggle to make the 18 this season.

Samowhite5

1.) 21 Aug 2019 11:42:06
i think clarke is real quality and very exciting but it is always a question of fitness. not sure how he passed the fitness test/ medical for spurs

bogusz looks the real deal and from what i have no seen no reason why he can't make step up to even teams like man city in time. very exciting and love to see him on the pitch for klich after 70 odd minutes and klich is great but he can fade out of games.

2.) 21 Aug 2019 11:55:14
Not sure why we took Clarke back. Putting my tin hat on, I shall explain. Clarke was sparingly used last season and struggled to last more than 45 mins in games however I do accept that illness hampered him last season. On the right wing/ midfield we currently have Pablo and Costa, so it is likely he would be first choice on his preferred wing. We can only have 5 loan players in the matchday squad and therefore we are sacrificing one of the players we have brought in to improve the squad on a weekly basis (poor planning on the clubs behalf) , however you could just drop the loan keeper and use one of the U23's.

3.) 21 Aug 2019 12:05:17
Think Clarke neede another full season to be honest and Poch maybe hoping he would get it with us. Loanee situation as is is and Harrison being first choice in that position can not see him getting much playing time. Unless Miazek gets on the bench no room for him there either, funny one. Obviously a great player to have available and maybe needed later.

4.) 21 Aug 2019 12:12:25
Samo Shouldn't be a case of one or other but both. They play in different positions too. Bogusz needs to be replacing Klich with about 15 minutes to go regularly in games. Clarke should still be in the matchday squad but along with Miazek so there's no loan rule infringement. I can see Spurs recalling him in January which apparently they can do. We should have bought Kent.

5.) 21 Aug 2019 13:17:20
George is right don’t think it is going to be Clarke vs Bogusz, different kinds of players. And don’t forget we have Roberts hopefully to fit in somewhere at some point. It would be probably safe to assume that 1 or more of the loaners will be injured at some point.

Clarke is a bit frustrating, shows great touches and a good dribble and then nothing for a long time. He is waiting for a ball for a lot of the time and then it doesn’t come. But it’s a long season and I’m sure he’ll play his part.

Bogusz is going to be drip fed into the team I think but I think he’ll be a constant bench presence although interesting when and if Roberts is fit again!

6.) 21 Aug 2019 13:18:29
Bought Kent? What and spent money?

7.) 21 Aug 2019 13:35:32

A chant which might be on the cards?

Victor had a dream, he'd build a football team, sign bielsa and send Anita back home

Cooper at the back, Bamford in attack, were Leeds United, were on our way back.

how about artful dodger 'moving too fast' as an ironic song about KP. sorry but been far too positive on here recently and I had to bring it back

could also have Phillips was the slowest footballer in the west to tune of Ernie the milkman,

slow man, slow hand.

30 Jul 2019 08:05:09
My opinion on Victor Orta pros and cons:

Good:
Bielsa, Bamford, Douglas, bringing clarke back on loan, white, costa, alioski, klich, making jansson a permanent, hernandez 1 year extension, dallas and ayling new deals, tyler roberts, jack harrison, bogusz, senior deal for shackleton, liam mccarron, struijk, halme, casilla, bielsa second year.

The bad:
ekuban, grot, cibicki, sacko made permanent, de bock, anita, ruining tom pearce, he should have been sold. taylor, wood, no new phillips or roofe deals, saiz, jansson, letting wilks and halme go for peanuts, releasing diaz.

When you look at the good signings he's made, he's actually not been that bad.

Samowhite5

1.) 30 Jul 2019 08:18:20
One player seems to be in the wrong section samo.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 09:06:20
Which player Aus?

3.) 30 Jul 2019 10:12:37
Probably means casilla, divided opinion on the keeper but i see the reason for the buy.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 10:46:04
With you on that AUS, not proved himself yet, White has to play a competitive game yet as well but i do rate him. Has mcarron played anywhere yet. So we are assuming some of them are good buys.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 10:48:29
I don’t think you can count contract extensions for players that were already here. Come on any muppet should be able to agree a contract extension and Orta is supposed to be finding us decent players. The majority of the ones he brought in have not been good enough.

6.) 30 Jul 2019 11:10:40
Prob not Casilla
I’m delicately perched on the fence with cas. Could fall either side.

7.) 30 Jul 2019 12:21:21
Alf, I agree to some extent, but if any muppet can do it why hasn't phillips or roofe got one?

8.) 30 Jul 2019 12:49:09
So Aus, prob not Casilla, but who?

9.) 30 Jul 2019 15:49:25
Ekuban

Sold for more than we bought him!

10.) 30 Jul 2019 15:53:43
A lot of it influenced by the scattergun approach to signings a couple of years ago.

11.) 30 Jul 2019 16:27:20
Clutching at straws there Axe.

12.) 30 Jul 2019 17:08:47
because Radz and Orta are too stingy. If they offered a decent amount they would sign but they prefer to line their own pockets.

13.) 30 Jul 2019 17:49:08
agree not getting roofe and phillips either signed or sold is criminal bit like at arsenal and it is poor and a joke

im a fan of orta. not every signing has been amazing but then no club get it all right.

overall he has done some good deals and think some coming through will be class

bogatuz and stevens for me look really birght shining lights and real quality.

14.) 30 Jul 2019 20:32:00
Bermo

A positive post

I give you stick for all the negative ones so in fairness I am applauding you for the positive ones.

And in this instance I agree. I think the 2 youngsters you mentioned will be great additions to the squad.

01 Jul 2019 13:34:30
People saying we need 4/ 5 players, I really don't think we do. Bamford and roofe both good enough to lead the line on their day, both proved they can get a brace or a hattrick in the championship. Costa over the line is huge, missed that last year, injuries crucified us last season. Think central midfield is ok with pablo, kalv, klich, forshaw, shack, bogusz, roberts all able to do a job. Ben white could well do the holding role if kalvin gets injured becayse he isn't leaving. White also able to play CB his more natural position. You have 2 centre halves ready who know what it takes, and 1 in the pipeline, struijk and halme also both good options. If we get costa I really do see us ready, best bit about this year is that douglas will be fit again which frees alioski. Be iteresting to see who he plays on the wings bearing in mind he likes dallas, loves alioski, but signs harrison again and costa.

Samowhite5

1.) 01 Jul 2019 14:05:35
I think Bielsa is working on a new tactical plan KP alone in defence with 3 banks of wing backs either side of him and attacking midfielders / forwards in front! Tally Ho!

Bogusz, still a lot to prove, Aappo appears to be heading out on loan. And if the talk is right, JC coming back as another option on the wing. Lots of competition hopefully will drive performance and mean we have more in the tank late season.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 14:08:38
Bamford is not on his day. Often.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 14:34:43
Did he have a day and I missed it wex?
Funny Spanish. I defender 8 wingers and a striker.
He is introducing new formation cause last years got found out too quick. This one will fool them.

4.) 01 Jul 2019 15:09:06
Aus, sometimes it felt like we were playing that formation last year!

5.) 01 Jul 2019 15:33:41
A larger more quality squad allows for a/ injuries and we had more than our fair share last season and b/ plan b which we didn't seem to do much last season. Onwards and upwards! MOT.

26 Jun 2019 11:46:01
To anyone saying the clarke deal is bad, 10 million up front funds this transfer window. Youll have costa and harrison both on 30k per week, for 52 weeks. Rougly 3 mil there, plus 1 mil loan fee for harrison. Ben white fee believed to be 2 million, plus 10k pw, that's another 2.5 million, gives us scope for one more loan.

On top of this, look at how often lewis cook played for us and everyone said he'd be a world beater, most people suggesting he'd be an england regular by now, he may well be still, but isn't yet, clarke may go down the same path for all we know, hope not as i like him and liked cook, but we've got a good deal for the potential.

lets suppose someone comes in for 30 million in the future, we get 6 million of that too. Great business imo and all the best to the lad. Radz has listened.

Samowhite5

1.) 26 Jun 2019 12:20:29
I agree Samo! This lad has started 4 championship games in the past year. Sell on clause and first refusal on a loan sounds a fair package to me. There are so many unpredictables with the development of young players, look at Izzy Brown. I think he is in safe hands at Spurs. I’m sure it won’t please everyone but what is most important in the first instance is that the sale and what the money permits to happen please Bielsa! Hopefully now we can move forward.

2.) 26 Jun 2019 12:42:57
Don't agree with what is being said about Cook. When he was playing regular he was on the verge of the England squad but then suffered a bad injury that has set him back.

Completely disagree. Strongest squad we've had since leaving the premier league by far. Anyone who was concerned about jansson being replaced, ben white. Anyone concerned about saiz, roberts, costa, forshaw stepping up. The versatility is incredible. We've axed a lot of deadwood, which the board will appreciate come january. Anita on 15k a week, ekuban on 5, roofe on 10, de bock, jansson, all these players were on reasonably big wages. Kalvin needs a new deal which will eat up a fair portion of this, but when that deal goes through it will suggest the intentions had by all at the club. Look at every position on the pitch, one by one, and look at who could play in each position.

GK Casilla, meslier, miazek.
RB Dallas, Ayling, Hosannah, Bera, Shack.
CB White, Cooper, Bera, Phillips, Struijk, Davis.
Lb, Douglas, Alioski, Bera, Dallas, Davis
DM Phillips, Forshaw, Mccalmont, Shack
RM, Pablo, Harrison, Costa, Alioski, Gotts, Stevens, Clarke, Shack.
CM Klich, Phillips, Forshaw, Roberts, Shack, Pablo.
LM Harrison, Costa, Roberts, Pablo, Clarke, Stevens, Alioski, Dallas.
AM Costa, Pablo, Bogusz, Roberts, Harrison, Eddie, Shack, Klich, Forshaw.
ST Bamford, Eddie, Roberts, Edmondson, Kun.

So much depth, such young blood, such talented players. Every reason we should be going up this season, and who better to have in charge, I genuinely can't think of someone better to fit the bill, other than possibly pep.

We've lost 2 games from 8 in 1 month. 2 of which were in the cup. And its been a very hard start, forest, swansea, bristol, stoke, all teams with good solid players, and to beat 3/ 4 of them is brilliant IMO. Look at performances against wigan, stoke, bristol, just about swept aside. People saying they've sussed bielsa out, they haven't its obvious what we do and he doesn't hide it.

Dont understand. BPF on the brink of flourishing in his career, we promote miazek who is a good keeper but not as good, and bring in more cover to the youth team. I won't mind this if the plan pays off but yet another risk? 3-5 million for BPF would be good. Ultimately though its only good if it doesn't line radz pockets. you're telling me that between Clarke, Jansson, Saiz, Ekuban, Sacko, BPF we've accumulated 25 million, and brought in 2 players on loan and 1 on a free for the U23's, shocking window.

It's a big one this, if he goes it hurts on a personal level, but as its been said 25 million is a lot. If iturraspe is a free then bring him in, and maybe 1 more of his calibur, with 25 million you could even tempt delph back. I think though marcelo will be the one who sets the price at 30 million and if kp goes i'd imagine marcelo goes, and that's the last thing AR will want, he will have to put his faith in bielsa.

Makes sense that they want them for the new kit, starting to get my excitement back, if white is a permanent that's an excellent signing, makes sense bearing in mind clarke going to brighton. o'dowda over lowe for me, don't rate kent personally. don't think we need a striker, keep roofe and bamford both fit and firing and you're ready for the season. hernandez must be playing as a 10 this year.

We signed him for 4.5m in 2018 January. Been a good squad player, but 5 million for a squad player bearing i mind john egan was 5 million last year, john mcginn 2 million, money could be better spent elewhere.

They qualify for CL every year and usually win the league, pretty much the ajax of belgium and roofe is expected to be their main man now. Kompany is player manager, made some very shrewd signings this summer, obviously going for a CL push and roofe couldn't turn that + 30k a week down, 4 year deal which will take him to 30 y/ o, meaning he can express his ability at his peak on a cl stage, maybe get a move elsewhere in a few years for one last pay day. makes good sense from his point of view and you can't really argue, wed all do the same i suppose.
