Michael Cuisance rumours still here.
Report saying we have agreed a 20 million euro deal and personal terms.
Would be a great addition at 21 with champions league winning experience.

20 Sep 2020 20:48:23
Sounding like De Paul deal close to being done, great news.
I hope he's up to speed for a tough game against the blunts.

1.) 20 Sep 2020 23:43:50
They said that 3 weeks ago.

2.) 21 Sep 2020 09:20:56
Not going to happen then!

3.) 21 Sep 2020 10:41:53
Leedslive saying fee now agreed with Udinese. Who knows!

4.) 21 Sep 2020 13:07:32
Udinese supposedly softened their stance on the fee.

10 Sep 2020 23:49:17
Doesnt mean anything I guess but no Draxler in PSG squad tonight.
Would be awesome but can't see this one happening.

1.) 12 Sep 2020 04:12:14
Draxlers attitude to his current situation reminds me of Bale a little, not going to start but not forcing a move away. Suggests he is more bothered about his pay packet than playing matches, not an attitude that will fly under Bielsa. I think we will push De Paul or look at someone new if that's gone cold.

{Ed0666's Note - Paris or Leeds Paris or Leeds?

2.) 12 Sep 2020 12:19:04
Well the nicest city is Leeds. Draxler has obviously never visited.

10 Aug 2020 20:52:16
Geldhart finally signs.
Pretty pleased with this one, was impressed with him this season and think once he gets Bielsa fit he could become a decent player for us.

1.) 10 Aug 2020 21:13:01
Agreed and good to get him in for pre season training. Until anyone else arrives he has a real opportunity to impress, hope he takes it.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 22:11:04
Not sure he will be a first team we this season but good to see us snapping up a promising player. Makes a change from when it was always us on the end of such transfers.

3.) 10 Aug 2020 23:07:56
Aiming high as usual.

4.) 11 Aug 2020 07:50:13
I think this lad is a bit different than some of the youngsters we’ve brought in before. He was being talked about in the 5 million class before their financial troubles. It’s not about age with these kids it’s about how good they really are, if they have the potential to do really really well then they can do start to do it at a young age. Ditto Charlie Allen from Linfield only 16. If we can start to see some home nurtured strikers coming through it will be great.

It was interesting during the lockdown when there was no under 23 football, the focus of the under 23s was only on supporting the first team with training, squad and bench if required. That period brought Shackleton, Poveda and Struick back firmly into the reckoning. If you read Bamford on Struick, during lockdown Struick was tried as defensive midfield during murder ball and absolutely nailed it. After that the thought of using him and not White grew.

With a premier league 2 programme that level of youth involvement in the first team is harder, but I’m sure that the kids Bielsa really rates and would call on if needed will be the ones filling out the squad numbers, helping out in training sessions and balancing those duties with the under 23s. In that respect who gets the link job between under 23s and first team is important.

5.) 11 Aug 2020 09:41:49
Top post Spaniard. Glad you’re back full time pal!

6.) 11 Aug 2020 12:37:53
What Spanish said

We’ve a coach and staff committed to identifying and developing our own players to play in our own style

Players develop differently and at different rates so it’s a numbers game and not all make it to the first team

Those that don’t will still be very good players and will generate income when sold

This is a “ go to “ club again

No more journeymen winding down careers.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 14:06:03
Agree Woody and being very professional about how we are bringing people in and signing new contracts for those we want to keep. We are still not getting all the new signings right but then not sure anyone does that all the time. Look at Chelsea and the worlds most expensive goalie and now tipped to buy a goalie!

8.) 11 Aug 2020 14:16:31
Bogusz signs 3 year deal

Looks like we are progressing nicely.

05 Oct 2019 22:50:45
What is Bielsa talking about when he mentions the 3 big parts of the game? Something about Harrison.

{Ed033's Note - Meat and potatoes?

1.) 06 Oct 2019 10:53:55
Canada Venture it's possession, creating chances and sticking them away. Personally, I think he's lost the plot, anxiety has crept in and he's a ripe candidate to enter Martyn's Bexley wing once the Big Fella returns from Lanzagrotty with new Spanish girlfriend in tow.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 11:50:35
Doesn't seem to fit with him talking about red card and penalty. I was assuming it was some refereeing error or something controversial.
I think he's been a breath of fresh air to Leeds but my lord he can't seem to see the wood for the trees can he!
For such a studier of the game I'm shocked he can't understand our repeated failures. Maybe he should watch all of our games from last year again and then it may sink in.

3.) 06 Oct 2019 16:04:51
He turned down a blatant penalty when Harrison had his ankles swept away for him, and waved it away. Just another shocking decision.
So, the 3 big parts were their penalty, Berra’s Red, and the refusal to award our penalty. That’s my take on it anyway.

4.) 06 Oct 2019 17:19:53
Sounds about right.
Really sick of being screwed by refs.
We are more than capable of messing it up on our own!

5.) 07 Oct 2019 06:25:16
No one wants us out of this league we generate too much revenue for the greedy corrupt fatherless children.

6.) 07 Oct 2019 17:09:19
I don't think Bielsa has lost the plot at all. He is a genius and getting 50% more out of the current squad than any other manager would be able to. Problem is most of our players are not up to it.

7.) 09 Oct 2019 16:01:14
You legend alftupper! Post of the month!

04 May 2021 23:54:41
So just read a few posts about Orta below and want to put things into perspective as we all get caught up and miss the bigger picture sometimes.
If he came to us in May 2017 then he was here for the 2017/ 18 transfer season and since that time if we ignore last summer as that was as a PL club his net spend was actually a 17 million profit!

So he brought in 17 m more than he spent and got us from championship mediocrity to the promised land.
Has he made some errors, yup, but we have nothing to complain about!

1.) 05 May 2021 01:06:57
Interesting figures Canada, I guess that profit comes mainly from the 2018 summer teenager window selling Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor for £22 million plus.

In reality the major signing that Orta made that got Leeds up was El Magico Bielsa.

2.) 05 May 2021 05:37:27
Correct 🇨🇦.

3.) 05 May 2021 06:14:59
What is that based on? Are you saying the club made more money than we spent based on sales? Surely all that means is we sold our talent?

4.) 05 May 2021 02:45:19
Said the same numerous times Canada. When you get right down to it, of the 'failure signings' (Not counting u23s) , only really Costa has cost us big money, most of them have been frees or less than £2m, you could sell Bamford for the combined spend of them all.
Hits - Raphinha, Jansson, Koch, Saiz, Alioski, Struik, Bamford, Mesilier, Llorente, Harrison, Ekuban (ok a stretch but we made a profit so I'm counting it)
Misses - Costa, Sacko, Casilla, Wiedwald, Anita, Cibicki, De Bock, Douglas
(Giving Forshaw, Roberts, Rodrigo and Koch a pass due to injuries, not seen enough)
On balance I think he's done an exceptional job, especially when you factor in Bielsa.

5.) 05 May 2021 09:54:20
Good post Gummie, except one point re your exemptions in your list of ' misses '

Orta really needs to stop signing players who have history of lengthy or/ serious injuries : Forshaw, Roberts, Rodrigo and Llorente all had, and guess what they have all missed numerous matches for Leeds especially Forshsaw

So I would for now at least include Forshaw definitely on your list of misses.

6.) 05 May 2021 10:13:48
Well said and 110% agree with you Canada and gumie. Just getting in Bielsa does it!

7.) 05 May 2021 10:23:12
Pretty sure Jansson was pre-Otra and a Garry Monk signing.

8.) 05 May 2021 10:24:41
Don't forget the flop JKA who we spent millions on in wages and loan fee and it may still cost us another £18m.

9.) 05 May 2021 10:30:13
And yes I think we got such good deals on Koch and Llorente as the selling clubs knew there were injury issues there. Koch was definitely carrying his injury when he arrived and he has barely featured. Long term he may come good or the injury could flare up again but I'm sure a more astute scout would have been able to invest that sum in a player who could actually have played for us. At the moment the gamble seems to have worked as we stayed up and Koch and Llorente seen to be over the worst so fingers crossed over the next few years we will gain from that risk.

10.) 05 May 2021 10:44:18
Yes Alf there have been mistakes but that happens at every club but the long and short is even if we pay for JKA we got promotion for 1 million max on player costs, who else has achieved that and without parachute money?

11.) 05 May 2021 11:04:49
What about all the ' ones for the future'
And wasnt it Bielsa who got us from championship medeocracy to mid table prem.
Who are the Bielsa signings and who are the Orta signings.

12.) 05 May 2021 12:03:18
All of them are Orta signings Rich, Bielsa has said a few times that he says what he wants then Orta comes to him with a list that he thinks fit.
Also the 'ones for the future' we A don't really know who will make it yet (though Drameh, Poveda, Caprille, Davis, Gelhardt, Greenwood, Summerville, etc. All looking good) . Most of the u23 signings have been real cheap or frees so don't need many to work out to justify the spend.

13.) 05 May 2021 18:50:15
Gummie you seem to have missed a few good un's in
the miss dept

Ready, steady, here we go

That's an awful lot of misses in my eyes , yes they weren't big fees involved, but they they still got wages which in turn stopped us from signing quality as books needed to be balanced .

Victor has missed a lot more than he has hit IMO.

14.) 05 May 2021 19:30:03
Gummie if you've not seen enough of Roberts to know he's not good enough and offers nothing your a poor judge on that one.

15.) 05 May 2021 19:36:58
Didn't miss any Chris, I mentioned De Bock and Anita and said I wasn't doing u23s.
I did miss Lasogga but I didn't do loans (surely that's the point of a loan to buy, to test a player) but if I had you could add White to the hits.
All those young players, represent less than £10m and some we sold at a profit. How many youngsters do big clubs sign that don't make it? 1 or 2 successes from 18 is actually a decent return.

16.) 05 May 2021 20:03:19
I've flipped a lot on Tyler, kly. He's only 22 still and I think a season loaned to the champ we would at turn a profit, if not just straight up improve him, either I would count as a win.

17.) 05 May 2021 20:05:04
I take your counter points gummie, but IMO players are purchased to improve the buying teams performance firstly, not as a commodity like stocks. + Shares

From that perspective they are way too many duds and way too many transfers that had zero benifit for our 1st team .

We are scant enough on quality and all those players that I mentioned above did was was fill squad numbers + pose for a squad picture in the summer pre season sunshine .

Orta needs to be better on his targets, but big kudos if indeed it was Victor who chose Marcelo . Surely his greatest ever signing if it was Mr Orta 👍.

18.) 05 May 2021 20:52:47
JKA cost us nearer £5m in loan fee and wages and did nothing to help us win promotion.

Orta was responsible for Bielsa coming so credit for that.

19.) 06 May 2021 20:00:52
Your point about JKA just made me wonder Alf, are people looking at the wrong person to blame on some of the failed players. He came in, obviously wasn't fit and injury prone yet the medical staff passed him on a physical, same for Forshaw, Koch, etc. Lasogga never looked fit either. Cuisance who we failed has played a full season without a problem.
As Baz said we have signed numerous players with injury records, its their job to look at the player and decide whether they think they are unlucky or if its more serious. Maybe we need a new medical team.

20.) 07 May 2021 19:34:54
You could have a point there Gummie but I think that sometimes we go for players out of desperation and don't question a deal that seems too good to be true. We aren't blessed with the finances of some other teams so have to take a gamble I guess and with gambling sometimes you win, more often you loose.

30 Apr 2021 19:27:02
Wonder what the line up will be tomorrow. Wondering if the switches made at the end of the Man Utd game when Costa was injured and he pushed Roberts wide are an indication. As they often have 2 up top maybe we 3-3-3-1 so could see:-
Llorente, Koch, Struijk
Ayling, Phillips, Alioski
Roberts, Dallas, Harrison

1.) 30 Apr 2021 20:29:48
Bielsas tried and trusted. Maybe you are not too far out Cana.

2.) 30 Apr 2021 21:23:14
Probably the best we can do at the moment.

3.) 01 May 2021 04:52:22
Think proveda rather than Koch.

4.) 01 May 2021 05:36:37
I am surprised at that Aus, if someone would have asked me, I would definitely have said you preferred Koch.

Become a Patron!

5.) 01 May 2021 09:15:51
Oh. That’s funny Ed.
Big slap on the back for you. Xxx
Or you prefer it lower?

{Ed001's Note - jus' saying mate.}

6.) 01 May 2021 12:08:33
Just because I lived up north for 5 yrs dosent mean I got their habits Ed.

{Ed001's Note - it's ok Aus, no one is judging here.}

7.) 01 May 2021 12:52:43
Good to hear Ed 👍.

{Ed001's Note - just glad to see you happy Aus.}

8.) 01 May 2021 14:49:29
U should be pleased Koch is in Ed.
I was wrong.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure you will be a lot more pleased than I am.}

9.) 01 May 2021 16:00:09
It’s your site mate.
I’m happy you are on top and take it as it cums.

{Ed001's Note - ah very good, that did make me chuckle!}

12 Apr 2021 19:34:07
WBA doing all they can to delay the mathematical guarantee of premier league football for us next season.
Even the most negative of us know we are safe, but still will be happier when its confirmed.
Surely Sam can't keep them up?

1.) 12 Apr 2021 20:32:07
Even if he can I can't see it being at our expense.

2.) 12 Apr 2021 21:12:33
Yup, we are good for sure.

3.) 12 Apr 2021 21:59:26
Relax chaps Leeds have been safe since the Fulham away win.

4.) 12 Apr 2021 22:54:48
Please read the posts Baz, that way you'd see that everyone is relaxed.
Just waiting for the mathematical inevitability to happen to give another reason to have a celebratory beer.

5.) 12 Apr 2021 23:39:34
Yeah. We are safe.
For wba to catch Newcastle would be hard enough.

6.) 13 Apr 2021 09:56:24
Yep Canada did read your post, excellent you are pretty relaxed 👍 just waiting for that mathematical inevitability,

that relaxed feeling is truly wonderful😊.

11 Apr 2021 13:49:18
Wonder what St Maximin would cost.
Imagine him (Leeds fit) and Raph in the same team, that's a defenders nightmare.

1.) 11 Apr 2021 15:37:19
🇨🇦 Prefer Kent, not the county.

2.) 11 Apr 2021 16:58:00
Would happily take either tbh.

3.) 11 Apr 2021 19:21:46
Don't know about kent, the huge step up has got to be tAken into account and how. long that might take . Think we need to now be aiming for quick impact signings now as. this league doesn't give time to develop, it's do or. die sadly.

4.) 11 Apr 2021 19:34:15
Nothing wrong with Kent (the county) was born there!

10 Apr 2021 13:19:15
Blatant VAR cheating.
Cooper wins the ball. Impossible to stop after that.
How is that area yet sterling studs Raph and nothing.

That actually applied the rule correctly IMO, it was so close that they said no clear and obvious error so the linesmans decision stood.

Scoring a poor league.
Was decent at championship but doesn't necessarily translate to Premier League.
Not heard any rumblings of PL teams looking at him so maybe they all think that too.
Then again, very few thought Bamford was up to the PL!
