I do think Southgate will put sake over Palmer. Just for his greater experience. Palmer has to find his feet at England level but he could have a part to play if he's called on.
Maybe konsa over guehi as the latter has not played much.
And trippier over shaw for the same reason.
I would go for.

I think Guehi is a better ball playing CB than Konsa. Then again though, I would've taken Branthwaithe over both. We could have done with a left footed CB who's a great passer and line breaker.

I agree on guehi dill just he has been out for so long and konsa hasn't.
I think you have stones walker trippier/ Shaw going forward do we need another forward thinking defender?

Absolutely, for me. Having plenty of defenders who can actually play and do something with the ball is paramount to a good defence imo. We can control the game when needed. Slow the tempo when needed. Draw players out and break the lines when needed. All of which keeps the opposition off the ball, which is the best form of defence. Can't score if they don't have the ball.
