Blimey Charlie, Kamara has finally signed a 4 year deal. It’s been a busy day.

Maybe another addition tomorrow, hopefully a LB, but that seems unlikely, but let’s see.

I think as a whole, this has been the most productive transfer window I can remember for some time.

If we can keep Sini, Willy and Jimmy and maybe add another forward, I think we’ve got a right squad! Feeling far happier than a few weeks back.

1.) 31 Aug 2023 22:53:29
Oh no. You said productive. And sound positive. Damn you!

2.) 01 Sep 2023 10:30:10
Dont get over giddy fellas.

12 Jul 2023 09:54:58
Looks like Rodrigo off to Qatar, deal done and medical awaits according to Fabrizio Ramano. Good luck fella, fill your bank account and enjoy the sun, shame you couldn’t help us get back to the EPL.

Midfield General

1.) 12 Jul 2023 10:26:26
Indeed MG.

2.) 12 Jul 2023 10:45:14
Agree mid. Like to keep him. But good luck to him. That time of his career self before side.

3.) 12 Jul 2023 11:23:08
Beat me to it. Again.

4.) 12 Jul 2023 12:09:11
Can't understand any team coming for our players after last 2 seasons I hope these younguns shine this season them players on loan can gone run a duck.

5.) 14 Jul 2023 08:22:33
Shame he’s leaving. One of the few last year that looked like he cared.
At his age I understand it. Good luck to him.

Reports this morning are that Leeds are prepared to let Joffy go out on loan for the rest of the season.
I know he hasn’t had much of an impact this season and will be great for him to get games and goals, but hopefully shows that there is another striker due in Jan? Here’s hoping so!

Midfield General

1.) 09 Jan 2023 09:24:25
I’m not sure he is good enough for prem. So hopefully he does well where he goes and they buy him. And yes you would think that indicates incoming.

2.) 09 Jan 2023 10:06:47
A loan at the start of the season would’ve been the best thing, had we landed the right striker then. He needs a full season of regular football to help him fulfill his talent. I’m sure time away would see us getting back a much stronger and capable player. He does have it in him imo.

3.) 09 Jan 2023 13:31:57
You’d think the pope would be a good striker given time bright. Lol.

4.) 09 Jan 2023 17:15:17
I hear he showed a lot of promise in his early days, Aus. ???.

5.) 10 Jan 2023 07:23:51
Yeah, think Joffy was probably overhyped tbh, he gives his all but not sure he’s got enough about him to be a Premier League striker. Hope I’m wrong.

New rumour from a few different sources (French Football News/ Goal) saying we are trying to convince Julian Draxler to join from PSG.
Highly, highly unlikely, but wouldn’t that be epic!

Midfield General

1.) 08 Sep 2020 18:08:11
Epic effort but looks like he prefers living in Paris to living in Leeds

Strange lad.

2.) 08 Sep 2020 18:49:22
Yes apparently he is not interested.

Next!

3.) 09 Sep 2020 00:38:30
Other woody 😂.

4.) 09 Sep 2020 12:43:40
He is on £120,000.a week. Never happening.

5.) 09 Sep 2020 13:16:20
Draxler, Really? let's just park him on the list between Messi and Bale. Just above Ronaldo (Christiano that is) .
Maybe he does prefer Paris to Leeds but he could live in Batley and get the train in.

6.) 10 Sep 2020 11:10:37
Why not Beeston, and just walk to the ground?

26 Aug 2020 13:01:05
Apparently Greenwood from Arsenal is also having a medical today! This lad could be good signing, he chose Leeds over Man U! The lad is obviously bright as well!

According to TransferMarkt, Leeds have generated just over £54m in sales this summer with Archie, Kamara, Roca etc (they also included the Sinisterra sale of £20m but not sure why as it was last year, so haven’t included that money) .
After the purchases of Rodon and Bogle we still have almost £40m in the kitty to invest, plus if we get £25m for Gnonto, we should be able to buy pretty much anyone we need to win the league, so long as they want to come.
A decent CF, sorry a top drawer CF, winger to replace Gnonto, LB and Sammie from Blackburn and that’s a squad that should not only win the league but be challenging for the cups as well.

Midfield General

1.) 24 Jul 2024 08:26:12
Nice bit of dough that.

2.) 24 Jul 2024 08:39:05
I agree MG, but think the maths are out a little. Sini was over 20 mil, Archie 40 mil and the others about to around 10, so more 70 mil.
But without splitting hairs I concur with you suggested requirements with an addition of a playmaker. The guy from Blackburn would be good, but still think they will go for the American Ginger Ninja from the canaries, he's a right handful.

3.) 24 Jul 2024 08:40:03
Fingers crossed MG:)

4.) 24 Jul 2024 08:42:12
I have no idea how much of that money is left over after paying off previous transfer installments?
Also I feel selling Gnonto now would not be a good move in my opinion. He’s a another very young player with bags of potential, for me it’s not always about the money, it’s about building a solid team of players that can perform well in the Premiership and not only have sustainability but the potential to progress further.
You’re not going to obtain that if you keep breaking apart the younger talented players who are growing into that team.

5.) 24 Jul 2024 10:04:33
Agree OP. Wouldn't sell anyone now if we don't have to financially. Use the loan market wisely and maybe buy someone for smart money. LB, CF and I think I'd be happy.

6.) 24 Jul 2024 10:33:02
Agree Opti dill. The big trick is holding on to them both although dosent look like anywhere near a decent offer for either yet. So maybe they stay.
Nailed it with lb and striker too.
Possibly get rid of the deadwood. You know. Nudge nudge and all that. Still about 3-4 I’d be happy to go.
Firpo not one of them.

7.) 24 Jul 2024 10:37:32
Based upon your previous review of Harrison Burrows I would definitely pinch him from Sheffield United. For a top team we have been without a decent set pieces player for too long now, and the lad has very good goals/ assists stats in div one.

We can probably guess that if playing a back four it will most likely be Wober at left back? With Sam Byram as back up for either side at full back, so it seems very unlikely, just hope Burrows doesn’t turn into Leif Davis 2.0 for the blunts.

8.) 24 Jul 2024 10:59:10
I concur, don't sell anyone, add some quality and we are up. That backline is proper good, so likely we won't ship many, but a few more goals would be good.

9.) 24 Jul 2024 11:37:24
Scoring enough goals to go up will be ( one of ) Leeds achilles heels IF

- they sell CS / or more specifically too late in window to recruit goalscoring replacements

Timing is crucial and Leeds must mot sabotage promotion by it

Ideally

Sell no one else

And

Buy/ Loan a CF, CAM, LB.

10.) 24 Jul 2024 11:51:04
A LB who assists and scores a load!

Yes sign that Harrison Burrows lad instead of Blades.

Not another Leif Davis scenario please (. as Class correctly warns of)

At the moment imo Leeds United definitely aren't in any better position to go up than 3 relegated teams.

That's a problem.

11.) 24 Jul 2024 23:26:53
Baz, you're underestimating Scott Parker's ability to take the best team in the league and make them play considerably worse than they should ?.

12.) 24 Jul 2024 23:42:30
Luton have also lost their talisman in Ross Barkley. Kabore gone back to Citeh. Osho, another regular starter for them has gone.

Sheff United a myriad of off-field issues atm providing a grey cloud of uncertainty (lovely to see) . But they have signed some good players for this level in O'Hare, Moore and Burrows. We've also nicked one of their best players from last season, who was their starting RB. Sounds like Hamer (£20m release clause) and Vinicius Souza are subject to a lot of transfer speculation. No telling how many clauses have been activated for their better players because of relegation. Ownership uncertainty making it more likely players leave until resolved imo.

Like our squad and chances better than all three at present tbh, so have to disagree with you on this mate.

13.) 24 Jul 2024 23:45:05
Wilder also a sh! tbag who hasn't impressed anywhere with his coaching in recent years.

14.) 25 Jul 2024 00:06:22
Burnley have also lost some regular first teamers in Muric, Taylor, Bruun Larsen and Assignon, whilst Datro Fofana has gone back to Chelsea after his loan.

Sheff have also lost BBD after his loan, Foderingham, Archer, Jebbison, McBurnie and the aforementioned Bogle.

All the related team's squads are weaker after coming down tbh.

15.) 25 Jul 2024 02:52:50
Good details Dill
Fair dos.

Fed up, we didn’t show in the most important game! Why did we persist with Rutter and Piroe? Piroe is slower than me and was blowing out of his @rse after 10 minutes, and the midfield of Kamara and Groovy Train was p! ss poor today. Only shining light was DJ
Long coach ride home.

Midfield General

1.) 26 May 2024 18:31:28
MG Rutter and Piroe scored in their previous outing. Both were outstanding against the Canaries. Bambi crocked. Who else you wanted to play?

As for Kam and Gruev, again who precisely did you want to come in instead?

We played a very good team, got beat by one goal and came within a whisker of taking it to ET. James shot. Disappointed with Joseph cut back which he overcooked. We were actually the better team.

2.) 26 May 2024 18:33:54
DJ best player all season on positive attitude 120% effort every match

And top 3 on goal stats

Leeds Player of Season imo.

3.) 26 May 2024 18:37:23
Agree Mid, If DF would have given M Joseph his just due after the Chelsea FA Cup game we would have won the league! I warned everyone about DF playing his favorites every game and I was right, It has cost us promotion. Piroe had a rating of 4 out of 10 today but yet played the entire match. While Joseph got his usual desperation last 10 minutes.

If I were Joseph knowing DF will be manager, I'd be the first to Leave.

4.) 26 May 2024 20:34:49
A top post George. I do agree.

5.) 27 May 2024 11:52:06
Sorry George, probably not clear, I didn’t mean the starting 11, I think it was correct after the Norwich performance, I meant about sticking with those players for so long during the game as it wasn’t working.

Is it football or water polo. The rain is lashing down. Good drainage at Plymouth!

I don’t know why we don’t go for Zincenko from City. He is rapid and would be perfect for the left back spot and struggles to get time at Man City. I think MB would turn him into a worldly. Even if we get him on loan for the rest of the season, a better alternative to Alioski.

What OP said, when fit (rare I know) , we are a better team for him being on the pitch. Hopefully MJ can fire and make himself indispensable by scoring a hat full, but being able to bring a fit Paddy off the bench has to be beneficial.

Me too mighty, think they could both do a job in the Championship. We have a solid back line, and I think Firpo will go and Wober slotting in at LB. I think he played there several times for Austria in the Euros and got forward well and put in some very decent balls.
Unless we lose Jimmy and / or Willi, we will need additional resource for the left and cover for DJ, then I think all we need is a top class CF, and that would make for a very good team indeed.

I think if these assets are sold for a reasonable value, it seems to be OK, like Ani said, it’s when it’s over inflated it becomes a no no!
