Not sure if Stephen dobbie is still available but would of being a decent shout. Billy sharp is probably th most likely forward man who could get us goals but it comes down to wages and if he would play for us. il have a look into it see if I can find any decent candidates {Ed013's Note - gone to Blackpool}

If this were true i'd take it as I don't see where the goals are going to come from, long season ahead if we don't do something and sat will be another hard one

Becchio does not suit bmd style of play and needs some good suppliers of the ball - we're struggling because we do not have a good supplier/crosser and a good striker who can hit the back of the net. even if we get a good striker, he'll stuggle because he will not be supplied with chances - that's why hunt has not scored. lufc players have to work very hard for goals

This rumour is getting very old already. He left and is not good enough so let him rot at Norwich. We don't even need him anyway. MOT

No last poster, the last thing we need is a guy who can score 19 goals in this league by January!
Not saying he the right guy but its better than what we using at present

Another player who gave his all for Leeds but wanted to try to succeed in the premier league. Ok so it hasn't worked out for him, why are you all so bitter?

Becchio was driven out by Warnock -he wasn't itching to leave. Warnock and Mick Jones spread a lot of negative propaganda about Becchio in the media last Jan, which they knew would stick because they knew that Becchio, with his limited English, would not be exercising his right to reply (Becchio has never had any dealings with the media). Warnock had a clear agenda -he wanted to cash in on a 29 year old who was in the best form of his career, with 18 months left on his contract. Warnock considered Becchio, despite his goalscoring, to be a limited player, and believed he could sell him and secure a superior player, He considered Morison to be that superior player (we can all come to our own conclusions about Warnock's jugement there). The background to all this was of course the club's financial situation, meaning that this sale was the only way that Warnock could see of giving him any serious leverage in the market. So, in short, these lingering allegations that Becchio 'wanted to leave for greater things. more dosh' are very wide of the mark -when he was told the club were looking to move him on, he wasn't going to say no when a deal was struck (by Warnock, who approached Norwich, not Becchio's agent) which would put him on a better contract in a higher league -was he?! Warnock was right . Becchio was a limited player.

Sour grapes, the lot of u should b ashamed of urselves sayin all these things about a great guy and an excellent player for us, grow up we can't all have everything we want and football is the same deal no need to b bitter about it

Chapel A here. For what it's worth, my personal view is that, although Warnock was right that Becchio is a limited player, Becchio is more than good enough to lead the attack in a promotion-seeking team in this lead. The last poster is also right: he is a great guy, with an outstanding record for us -and those who've turned against him are suffering from a bad case of sour grapes. In our current financial position, I think we will struggle to find a better option (did people really expect GFH to be bidding for the likes of Charlie Austin or what?).
