According to a bet firm we are favourites to sign le fondre and billy sharp. It's not an 'imminent fact' or special inside info from the club cleaners who sit in all board meetings, just the odds

Teeth

1.) I say we should look at James McFadden, his contract is out at Motherwell and could be a good addition to the squad in an attacking position

2.) I know James McFadden cousin, injury concerns and wouldn't be interested in leeds. would be very very shocked if he come to leeds

3.) We may at a push get Sharp if saints lower their valuation but le fondre is way out of our price bracket.
Dont think we could afford to get Enoch Shiwumya back!

4.) Remember this is also bookmakers way of tempting people to bet on "lost cases"! Leeds with huge fan base is worth a lot more betting money than lesser clubs. If a player is nowhere near the club: lower the odds, lots of people might think it's worth a try. easy cash for company!

5.) Bookies make a living out of this, must be some justification for the odds

6.) I was posting that here at the end of last season. Not sure he wants to continue in football.
Sunderland signd him but didn't play him, then off to Motherwell where he's likewise done nowt.

Nigel Adkins poised to become Reading manager. (tv)

Teeth

1.) Good luck to him, he will need it!

2.) Come on GFH you need to get McDermott in fast before he's snapped up aswell. {Ed013's Note - We do need s decent Physio}

3.) 25 Mar 2013 18:56:55
Strange decision for me, at face value it seems they have almost replaced like for like in terms of ability and philosophy. Anyway we move on to the next option. The one thing I feel about GFH is that if they are to stay in charge and that is very debatable! they must realise as an investment bank, they need to maximise that investment or speculate to accumulate. This means they will have to appoint a quality manager and support the team with or without further investment. I have no problem with us not getting Adkins, presumably he either wasn't interested in us or we weren't interested in him.

4.) Warnock will stay in charge. another disappointment/lie for all associated with LUFC.

5.) 26 Mar 2013 09:34:44
if they are planning on selling 51% of the club then what's the point in gfh signing a new manager and then the new majority shareholders wanting someone else and having to pay compo to get rid.

6.) If new manager doing a good job, why would any new owner want to replace them

7.) Does any non deluded fan think any decent manager will want any thing to do with Leeds at the moment, come on no money and you will have to sell Bayram or lees in the summer to balance a nearly bankrupt Gfh.

Really enjoyed the game today from my armchair on sly pus (grr)
We really did a job and I not really seen us that solid in years!
Anyway a couple of points
1/ Bamba is totally different class, like I have not seen in a white shirt since 'the chief ' Lucas. We must sign him for his skill and influence. He could influence the youngsters at the club for years!
2/ Silverstri really is like a cat with his body shapes but I noticed he really is a line goalkeeper which is fine as it works for him although in fairness the boro players never really got through the defence forcing him out. I wouldn't mind seeing him catch a few more but if we can defend from corners like we did today- who cares.
3/ it really looks like a team now-no wannabe heroes just playing for the greater good. It's true we could create more in attack but don't forget where we were playing- they got a great record there.
Well done boys MOT

Teeth

1.) Cheers Teeth.
Great performance by the back 5 today.
Also, get rudy signed up as well. Not everyone's cup of tea but he's showed recently what he can do. Solid & OK not always on target but a powerful shot.
Onwards & upwards. MOT

I know on current form it's an easy thing to say but why did we ever sell Matt smith? 14 goals for a first season is decent although not outstanding, however he gave us a dimension we simply not got now and he was cheap, we needed wingers anyway. I do believe he needed a season to get used to the championship as do all our new additions. I believe we will be much better next season provided we stay up.

Teeth

1.) 13 Jan 2015 12:15:31
It was a stupid sale.

2.) Wasnt it part of the the mcCormack deal?

3.) 13 Jan 2015 13:26:42
Agreed Teeth, it was a stupid sale by a stupid owner

Hi all
I can't help but feel this red bull interest is all about us being white. Is it a new brand they are launching and need a promotional boost? I may be wide of the mark but the connection won't go away, we all know bates and gfh were difficult to deal with according to reports yet Cellino gets publicity in a kind of endearing madcap kind of way. Which I feel they would like-publicity is publicity after all!
I may be totally wrong but what does everyone else think

We used to play in red

Is it possible that MC employed a coach so he could get the players in he wanted personally and then after analysing the championship choose a manager to put above the hock. That way he gets his favourite players or investment youngsters in and then the manager who has no choice but to work with what we have as the transfer window shut.
Just a theory

Teeth

1.) I always thought he brought in the wrong guy to find feet then sack him when things go wrong to bring in his right guy. bit of a eastenders plot I know but only way I could see any thinking behind hocks appointment

2.) Teeth, I thought precisely that when it happened

3.) The games played with recent transfers - calling bluff. Yes it's the mark of a good businessman and that's what MC essentially is. I don't like posts saying pocketing RM cash- no way he done that. Worth £800m, RM cash peanuts. I feel sure he doing the right thing but getting used to our league.

4.) If people like or hate MC (i personally like him) you have to look at record at claiagira. he is a football man, he is loyal to clubs and his own ego makes him do well, he will not accpet less. leeds will make money by going up, so if MC is in it for money, ego or football he will want the same thing, leeds going up and doing well and I think that is what mc will achieve in the next few years at leeds. I honestly think we will be there or there abouts over the nexy few seasons. for whatever reasons I think you have to beileve in MC

This game got better and better throughout. Started a bit slow but we were solid in defence and Austin put himself about quite well in the first half and warnock was awesome all afternoon. I did think Pearce defended very well but struggled a bit up field playing on the right and favouring his left foot-I hope he can overcome this as cooper also left footed. I liked the look of doukaka and Bianchi looks classy but both need time to really shine.
I am really going to try and not criticise players as I think we should be positive- last season I think the main problem was fans reactions getting to players. The owner is clearly trying to sort finances out and is detailed in his new buys and we need to give all those selected a chance to grow in confidence and concentrate on teamwork.
Lastly Sharp did well scoring with a tricky chance and he clearly loved playing in front of a passionate crowd

Great team performance today, thought players grew in confidence as game went on especially second half. Agree with teeth post, encourage the players don`t knock them, you could see what todays win meant to the players at the final whistle.
Well done lads and well done Hock, it is clear he has the players onside and he has them playing football.

I take back any doubts I had, it`s work in progress!

Leeds would get his wages paid back in compensation, in excess of £2m. I think £5m is enough considering we could end up with the £2m in summer, however any more than £5m would be a bonus.

Funnily enough I heard this too- leading MC to say how he liked hock and hoped he would come back one day. It's true he had poor preparation to preseason with all the comings and goings and the Ross fiasco however he was out of his depth in formation tactics and subs. I think MC should have brought a head head coach above the hock I mean £80k in football terms is nothing for a
'Nice guy'

Quite amazed really, however without sounding 'sour grapes' he only ever had one good season, Yeovil released him only 2 years ago.

He needs or needed a season long loan in a lower league to gain confidence and play week in week out instead of the 7 games he played for bury and 7 for sheff utd.

Wasn't it lucky that Stewart and Kebe were 'just a loan'
They can work out, Gradel for starters.
I think if it's with a view to a permanent move it's different than just getting game time to get fit or learn.

Very tricky this- Redders, although inexperienced in his role has fought manfully all season in very difficult circumstances. The latest losing his right hand man and not having the opportunity to discuss with the board must be frustrating. Cellino has spent most of the season with lawyers looking for loopholes etc and not been able to concentrate on learning about the ECL. This is possibly his own fault or at best nativity but it's something which is deeply unsettling.
Redferns main problem is lack of wingers of natural ability, I think Pringle at Rotherham would have been good, cheap option and selling Smith was an atrocious decision, he was ok at this level. We have no plan B or C. Our young midfielders don't seem to be able to convert possession and skill to being able to creativity in the final third or even maintaining possession in that area which makes us suspect to counter attacks- it's all so disjointed. We should be able to use plan A,B and C in every game, even if winning handsomely- it's good to practice all options. At present its keep plugging away at the only game we know.
I think we need to give Redders more control for 6 months then make a decision- you can't make a steak pie if you only got chicken!

I think you are right on this, I will add that I personally think it was a mistake to get rid of naylor, he was getting good results and it would be good to see him back continuing his development as I feel he could have been a good manager one day, he seemed a strong personality on and off the pitch although not a great player, his game was all about effort and that's what we have had missing in recent years. Just my opinion, I stand to be corrected happily

I seem to remember viduka was fantastic when we were doing well but when we struggled he totally lost interest. The others I agree with
