Peltier-Mills swap deal? What are the thoughts on this?

L3EDS

1.) Great swap, and if it doesn't come off, a couple of pints & a bag of pork scratchings will do, and good riddance, harsh but fair, as you can tell i'm not a fan of him.

Looks like Todor Nedelev rumour is dead in the water. Spurs are apparently looking to bring him over to England. Oh well must be more of these Gems out there!

L3EDS

1.) I saw that rumour. But hey we saw him first ;) I don't think he's at Spurs level yet, more likely to join us first and then go to spurs.

This lad must be signed, valued at 1.3 million, we wasted that much on Murphy

It is good to see that our defense this year looks like the best we have had in a long time! I think Bamba & Bellusci make a perfect partnership, even if they do make you wince on more than one occasion! The facts don't lie though with them conceding just the one goal in 6 games they have partnered (5 clean sheets out of 6!)

People will point out that Bamba has made the difference, and I agree. But I also don't think he would have made a difference in the team if it wasnt for Bellusci. With Bamba partnering cooper on 4 occasions and not kept one clean sheet. Where as Bellusci has been involved in 10 out of our 11 clean sheets! (i know I have gotten board at work and actually worked all of this out!)

It's also proof that our defence is sorted with people moaning at Morrison, Sharpe etc (rightly so, but I also agree with both parts on this argument!) instead of what has been in previous seasons a leaky defence!

What do you think is the reason our defence has shored up this season?

The Bamba/Bellusci partnership has been a significant factor however so has the decision to play 5 in midfield. With 5 teams have been unable to run through the middle and put our defence under constant pressure. The move away from hoofball has led to greater ball retention which stops the ball coming straight back to our defence, which again creates pressure. Finally I think players putting greater pressure on the ball from front to back has given us the opportunity to win the ball further up field. The downside with these changes is that we have been less creative in the final third which may only be addressed with specialist players i.e. attacking midfielder and wingers

Good one mate
If we had strikers that would relieve pressure and maybe only need 4 in midfield then.

Hi all,

With regards to Leeds bit getting Wells, I think that if he was Brian's number one target in the position then we would have got him. BMD only stated he was looking at him. In my opinion we have McCormack and if the rumours are true about ALF (BMD number 1 target as a ST) then I don't think we need him, all are similar types of player.

On another note who would you all like to see us put a bid in for the CM role? Me personally I wouldn't mind us going for O'Hara

When we get kebe I can see McDermott operating a 4-4-2. I think next we need another, not necessarily a starter but someone who could impact from the bench. I am hoping Smith is going to thrive now with having two wingers who can drill in a cross (instead of it being hoofed up to him)

I can also see the 4-4-2 being beneficial to our cms and can see Mowatt, Murphy And Austin playing a lot better. It seems that with the current formation we have to much going on in the middle and not neigh room for the players to show what they can do etc (what do you think ed?)

L3EDS

1.) Mate I would wait til summer for another winger, Ariyibi would have to be the sub winger for now I agree that 4-4-2 works really well u can play 2 from three of Austin Murphy Mowatt leaving one off the bench after hour if 1 inj then Green can step up. Specially help Rudy I would say

2.) Sorry I put it in wrong. Meant to say another striker, someone like Barnes would be ideal

3.) 09 Jan 2014 21:15:16
need more - more to come - you can't start with Austin and Murphy and the Kid Mowatt - another player needed to split that three - who have NOT delivered as a midfield. So . Kebe and Stewart wide the Brighton lad centre with Austin and Alf and McCormack up top - sorted

Well what a load of rubbish.

We need some new players in fast! I can't even leave my house for the next 12 months (live in Rochdale!)

Sort it out fast!

Was at the game last night, even though the football wasnt the best, we was keeping possession well and was looking for that killer pass. don't think Matt Smith is our answer to a striker. We need someone with intelligence, who knows when to run behind strikers and run onto the balls being fed through by McCormack, Diouf even Byram etc.

On a positive note the fans were outstanding! Makes me proud to be a Leeds fans for our non stop support even if we are losing 2-0!, completely outsang the so called 'toon army', even though someone on there banter page thinks they outsung us? (would like to know what the noise was like for someone not at the game and was streaming it)

L3EDS

1.) It was if leeds were at home if i'm honest also think we deserved a goal! so unlucky

2.) Away fans nearly always outsing the home fans it happens at Elland Road pal.

3.) No they don't name the last set of fans that outsung us at at home

4.) Burnley

QPR top of the league, played 7 league games and only scored 7 goals. Your point is? We could only score another 39 goals this season, but who cares if we only win 1-0.

Yes we have just lost 2 games against teams come back down from the prem (only just lost both of these games)
Also played Brighton, Bolton Away, Ipswich Away (not won for x amount of years), Leicester away and sheff wed. not done too bad if I am being honest. If someone had said we would have eleven points from the opening 7 games I don't think I would be able to pick that many points from these games.

Keep the faith and stop moaning after every defeat/draw. We wasnt going to win all 46 games after all was we?

I agree, wasn't impressed with hunt at all, but varney I am really warming to! Need a winger desperately, we might then see the best from smith.
