Its the FA cup, yeah it causes upsets but is it really an upset if you play youth players? for me the 23's game today should be second priority to allowing players like kun, clarke, sarkic, rey, gomes, vieira (romario) to all be called up to the first team. If we have such a good development squad and carlos corerbans team is looking so promising, show them what a real team is like and where there results have serious significance. Think for players like clarke itd be a great test of his nerve. The team i'd play is - BPF, Anita, Shaun, Rey, CBJ (if he is still here) Klich, Vieira, Comes, Kun, Clarke, Sarkic. Expect a few of these players to be playing for us in the future anyway, TC needs to get the fans excited, heres his chance.

Absolute bollocks you obviously wasn't there in 1972 or even born not caring by previous owners is why we continue to languish in mid table mediocrity in the championship, I for one will be bitterly disappointed to go out of the FA Cup to any opposition never mind Newport try telling the 1,000 Leeds fans that will be there your very poor attitude.

I wouldn't play a loaner. Or any first 11. But. Yes there are fa upsets. that's what first 3 rounds are about. And if we field a b team. As we should. Then that's what its about. i'd rather rest my first 15. Give others ago. If we lose. So be it. Never going to win it and will do well to get a biggee until last 16 or 8 or 4. So why bother. let's not let an fa run get in the way of what we want. let's not let tc get glory from beating lesser teams when he needs to get us promoted.

Rest some players but give those such as Klich, Lonegan, CBJ, Anita, Sacko, Pennington, Shaughnessy a chance to play instead of filling the team with under 23's. What Monk did last season at Sutton was an absolute disgrace from which we never recovered.

In 1972 we were the top club in Europe ( I tell my kids this) Right now, I'd take kids playing at Newport and resting a few bodies ( looked flat vs forest ) for a real push at the top two from next weekend That's where we are 45 years ago is very ancient history

It might be ancient history to you but it's a part of my history and that of the club I love and I never want my team to get beat it's not about resting players it's peoples atittudes to whether we win or lose.

Other woody, with you on that, important thing is winning in the league, history don’t win games, old managers or chairman’s have gone is all history we are no longer play top clubs, resting players they only work two days a week 90min each day can’t be bad for the money they get paid and then they can’t be bothered to turn up and play that attitude for your ever mind 30.000 fans spending hours travelling and spend there hard earned money working 6 days a week 52 hours that attitude mate.

Trust me I never, ever want to lose Ok we beat Newport Beat Grimsby away next round All of a sudden were in the 5th round! ? Get say arsenal at home Packed ER
Get beaten after a brave effort Fail to get promoted. Who actually remembers a failed cup run? The winners get remembered and maybe the odd losing finalist. You go out in 3rd, 4th or 5th round no one remembers can So there's not that much point Give the fringe players a chance to stake a claim. Let TC see what they can actually do in the shirt and all the responsibility that carries

No wasn’t born in 72 but it’s not about that anyway. It’s about giving some fringe and youth players some vital first team experience and game time without risking 3 points. You always play to win and pick a team to do that even with less used players but if the risk doesn’t work and we lose the game at least we haven’t hurt our league position.

Honestly, I cannot understand this indifference to an FA Cup run. my dear old Dad got me tickets to Wembley in '68, '70 and '72 and stood outside until I came out. I still tell my kids about it today and I always say if he'd got me a ticket in '73 we wouldn't have lost to Sunderland 😩
