Just back from one of Mr Ortas ‘Rose tinted retreats’ great break mainly youngsters there from all over the world. Anyway in the daily meditation we were reminded whilst chanting our daily affirmations; 1) It’s a FIVE YEAR plan
2) End of next season it’s not even half way
3) we’ve bought the ground back
4) it’s a FIVE YEAR plan
5) GFH nearly paid of now
6) Radz was the ONLY buyer for MC
7) As GFH were the ONLY buyer before
8) Oh and it’s a FIVE YEAR Plan
9) BPF and TP have broken through this year
10) Oh nearly forgot it’s a FIVE YEAR plan I know this is tongue firmly in cheek, but this retreat (brainwashing) has helped me to come to terms in the absence of new investment (Mmmmm) the PLAN was always to buy youth blooding two/three a year until year five. All run as a profitable business (bottom line not heart or passion) So peace to all but don’t expect miracles or expensive signings. it’s not in the plan !

The thing about a long term plan is that you expect progress each year. The only thing we've progressed towards this season, is League 1

Class Tell us something we don't know. Next season will be another of mediocrity although with the right signings can see us pushing up to 8th spot in the league. The year after we should be up there. Balance sheet will look better and we may attract superior investment. 2021 could be our year!

Speedy You're right but it'll be better next season. We had to pay off GFH and that hampered the transfer budget. I believe we can re-acquire Bartley and nurse him back to health. I also see us going very close with Abel. Can also see us finally getting Stockdale. Those 3 signings make us stronger if they happen and there's more to come I'm sure.

The tongue in cheek was your clue George. However, whilst we all want it yesterday me included. I’m simply stating (contrary to the majority of posts for next year) that the evidence points to the fact that in the absence of some serious investors we are in the long haul game. For myself, if that means a team of the like of BPF and TP I’ll be very happy. albeit eventually. No more silly than saying get him out get the manager out when the current owner has said from the outset it’s a long term plan probably based on the pretty rubbish circumstances he inherited. Still just a point of view

A few years ago, Blackburn made a 5 year plan to culminate with winning the Champions League. I suppose being promoted from League 1 in year 4 is a belated start.

I think the club was improving quite nicely before Radz got involved so not sure what rubbish circumstances you refer to Class. Radz bought the ground, which was going to happen anyway as buy back clause was running out. Orta has bought a lot of youngsters, which we usually find anyway, Clarke, Dalby, Edmonson would have been on our radar anyway. Think Cellino did a good job at turning this club around all Radz had to do was improve the first team squad, which he has not done yet. As i have said the summer will see if we have owners who want to go for gold or the premiership.

Hi Bige, the circumstances (which Radz knew full well but still saw a potential profitable business) were apart from buying from MC normal, the significant GFH payments, the high outgoings of renting Thorpe Arch and ER. And it’s too simplistic to say buy back clause was running out he still had to lay out significant capital that he probably wished he could have spent it elsewhere. Again with the youngsters he or Orta have found you’re absolutely right that could have happened anyway. However, if they can’t have the credit they can’t have the criticism for finding them. I’ve supported the Team for 47 years I don’t want to wait another x years! What I’m highlighting is we have what we have, and I truly don’t think Radz worries too much what people think of him, as the recent tour has shown. He’s a very astute very successful businessman but no billionaire. So we are just one of many businesses he owns all of which he wants to be successful. But like his recent Spanish La Liga rights deal he’s a man who is prepared to wait for the opportunity. Again I don’t like it, I don’t want to wait, if a billionaire came in now with funds to burn then bye bye Radz don’t let the door hit you on the way out. So in the interim, I’m hoping with my heart for more Forshaw type buys but my head says it’s likely to be lower than that with more youngsters being blooded.

Not knocking Radz at the moment, said i will wait until transfers are finished. My point was the debts had been restructured by Cellino and we were on a sound financial footing. The fact Aser bought us sort of proves that with the amount they were willing to pay. They did not buy us because they love Leeds and always wanted to own us. Yes they are paying GFH as anyone would be, Thorpe arch is still there. ER would have been bought back under any owner as it is an integral part of the club. Yes Radz is doing well on the business front so let's see how much he can raise this window to get some one in who will make a difference.
