Was Antonsson a waste of money? He was bought because of his goal scoring record but has done nothing. He hasn't scored much, he hasn't been given much of a chance in the starting line up and we are looking at 'back up' strikers. What is the future for him? Is he another 'Dave', Murphy, Sloth et al?

I'd prefer to play douks or roofe up top if we couldn't play wood.

Difficult to say when he hasn't really had much opportunity. I was thinking about this the other night and trying to remember if he was a monk signing. If so, strange to bring a player in and not use him but if it was a Cellino buy then that would make more sense. He may have been bought with the intent of having a front 2 but that then left our midfield exposed and we didn't do so well at the start of the season.

Time will tell with Antonsson as he will need time to get used to the higher standard of football. However, it is difficult for him to get minutes on the pitch because of the formation that we play and the form of Wood. I think that he was brought in because Monk originally wanted to play with 2 up front and Antonsson would be a good foil for Wood. The change to one up top does not suit Antonsson's game as he is built for stealth rather than strength.

Rooooooooofe up top for me . Ant seems a bit lightweight to me, maybe a loan spell at Rotherham, Wigan or somesuch would stand him in good stead?

if we played him as a two or gave him a chane out wide i think he would be orite he's struggled as he's been used to fit the system rather than fitting it round him against cambridge we should of played 4 4 2 with him n duke up front and give wilks ago on left/right

He hasn't been given a chance, so it's unfair to call him a flop. I'm not sure he suits us a one up striker, maybe he'd be better as an AM or on the wing.

Funny how if he's good it's a Monk signing and if he's bad its a Cellino one

That's how it's always been wex. Jansson was "Serie B sheeyte signed by Cellino" when he originally joined.

Antonsson had previously worked with pep clotet, so that's the likely link with monk.

Not always Wex - Grimes was a Monk signing and he's failed to impress so far, as has Sakho for me but you can't win them all. i was merely saying if you buy a player with a role in mind for them you're more likely to play them than trying to shoehorn someone in that you didn't have a place for. The Douk and Berardi were Cellino signings and they are both good.
