An appreciation post for the board, they don't always get it right but which board does these days, very few. Think radz has done exceptionally well, bielsa has been a real test of radz backbone and we've come out of the blocks flying, saying that didn't TC last year too. I see the next 3 weeks as the biggest of the season in all honesty, if we can keep up playing like that I think we might just break records this year, or we'll be brought back down to earth by the longevity of the championship. a great start though MOT.

1.) 13 Aug 2018 12:26:12
Great post Samo, and I think you're right about the next 3 weeks. The difference between Bielsa and TC is that MB is strong and experienced, and holds respect from the players, whilst not tolerating poor attitude. If we hold it together, based on those two performances, we could break records. That said, I do expect us to lose at least one game this year! 🤔😱🤐.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 12:28:13
Still early days, you are right better idea by the end of month after Swansea and Middlesbrough. Interesting to see how teams try and cope with us. Also hard to get a feel for how derby and stoke will really do this year. They might not do quite as well as people suggest.

3.) 13 Aug 2018 15:08:09
OMG I have just finished on a job and having a quick brew before heading off. and daydreaming

Beisla as manager. O'Leary's babes as his talent pool

Talented keeper. Robinson could play with the ball at his feet

3 centre backs who could all play a bit. Woodgate, Radebe, Ferdinand

2 wingbacks that can defend but definite help in attack. Kelly and Harte (even Mills could)

Defensive midfielder to allow the centre backs the opportunity to roam. Batty

Centre forward who can play others in. Viduka

Wide midfield who can link with the centre forward. Kewell and Smith

If only.

4.) 16 Aug 2018 12:52:29
Imagine how good that team would have been if we'd have had 11 players!

03 Jul 2018 11:14:31
My theory is that they're going about this transfer window in the wrong way. I think leeds have said we'll put 10 mil a side for a striker, 2 mil for a keeper, 4 mil for a cb, and the rest to spend on wages. When you look at that its 16million. I think instead of trying to budget what we've got, we spend what we've got, meet asking prices, and sign players, if we stick to budgets that we have made without enquiries someone else will come in and pip us to it. Vydra needs at least 11m spent on him, I think after that youll be fine up front. Roofe, Roberts, vydra, personally should all be good enough. Ekuban and grot and cibicki can go.

24 May 2018 08:12:32
Leeds apparently having a minority shareholder take over 30% of the club. Same bloke who owns San Fransisco 49ers, whos got big money. Radz still staying the main shareholder so power still lies, its just another investment from another place. This is good from radz to show he has lots of different ties. I just hope he gives the fans what he wants, he's doing very well at franchising the club and he's chosen a great club to franchise because its a one club city with a huge fan base, very good research mr radrizanni. All I want to see is 18 talented footballers winning games I don't care how they do it or who they spend their money on as long as its worth it in terms of playing football, but more money surely means more opportunities in the window like wolves had last year. the one thing I cannot get my head round, is why on earth is the bloke still employing orta and heck, he maybe needs to develop his ownership skills before giving these two the boot and employing a ranieri or someone, a big name will come to leeds soon I can feel it.

1.) 24 May 2018 09:56:18
Just think how much junk orta can buy now with that sort of money

2.) 24 May 2018 12:26:59
we could get around 20 useless players for that Martyn - I can't wait! We should try to get them on 5 year contracts this time as well.

3.) 24 May 2018 16:16:05
A good number of owners /investors with ties to nfl are looking across the pond . From what I have read so far investment level currently gives them 10% stake . If this is for the squad and we start to use are transfer money in a fashion I think we all agree we should then at most this is two players.

4.) 24 May 2018 18:04:49
Unless sako and ekuban have any brothers?

5.) 24 May 2018 21:29:31
I reckon 3 - 4 players, M&M from Posh, Barts and Abe will do nicely thank you 49ers.

6.) 25 May 2018 01:44:01
For 10 million Alf? Posh want offers over ten mill for m&m and brats is going to be 6mill then the Hernandez wages! Your looking at needing between 20_25 mill

7.) 25 May 2018 10:01:57
I think we will spend in the region of £20 mill this summer with the new investors, plus Radz own budget, on who, I have no clue, but I'm ever optimistic, and think a few may be surprised pleasantly.

8.) 25 May 2018 22:19:04
£2.5 for Maddison, rumours of £6.5 for Marriott, 4 - 5 for Barts and the Jerry money for Abe's wages . £17M ish according to my dodgy maths :) having said that, I think the Posh chairman is pushing his luck with a £6.5M valuation.

9.) 26 May 2018 05:19:14
Yeah. Not a fan of Marriott tbh. Saw him twice last season and a right miserable whining git if you ask me. Not sure he is heavyweight enough for champ!

10.) 26 May 2018 11:45:14
Someone thought Cbicki was heavyweight enough for t' championship ! ! Marriott looks like Mike Tyson next to him :)

08 May 2018 13:02:34
Ins: BPF, Miazek, lnergan, hadbad spell and he was pretty good when he first came into the team) Ayling, Hosannah, Jansson, Oconnor, Struijk, Diaz, Rey, Pearce, Berardi, Denton, Forshaw, Vieira, phillips, shaugnessy, ideguchi, klich, dallas, Hernandez, alioski, roofe struijk, diaz, Clarke, machuca, Edmondson, dalby, gomes, nicell, shackelton, Roberts.

Outs: Felix, cooper, okane, cibicki, sacko, lasogga, ekuban, saiz (be good to get 8-10m from wolves for him) anita, buoy, de bock, ty much everyone who I've slated this year bar roofe. I see roofe staying as hecky likes him and he is the only front line player we have on the books who you could expect to score.

Transfer ins: New GK, speroni perhaps on a free, brad jones or danny ward from Liverpool would also be good imo. New CB, liam moore would be ideal, expensive but a good option, also think liam Lindsay would do well, that bednarek at Southampton also looks good, and at 22 a loan might do him some good. I have a feeling barts could be swayed.

If he was to sign a 2/3 year deal with the club after work from ailing this summer, I think that sends a message out from radz. New LB, all the while I think Pearce is able, he gets injured and we are very light in LB, de bock can go for me. Dentons there but again you need experience, Fabio seems short of games at boro, might be worth a couple million quid?

I actually think were ok for central midfield, klich saying he has unfinished business at leeds is positive for me, him and Forshaw could teach Vieira a lot and I like phillips too. you need 2 wingers at least in my opinion, its great playing dallas and Hernandez there but Hernandez won't see out the end of his contract if you carry on playing him there, he needs to be in that number 10 for me.

leko at west brom looks interesting, brownhill also a good option as Bristol have faded towards the end of the year. oztumer and dack would also be good to get in if possible from league 1, and josh morris from scunny. I have no idea where you start with a striker, don't think mbakogu is the answer, and I don't think you should overload on new strikers but we need someone proven in this league. Hernandez at hull out of contract this year, would be an icredible signing, they love him at hull (I'm from hull unfortunately).

overall you're looking at 15m spending, and for getting rid of that lot (if you can get rid of it all) you're probably talking 15 million back including saiz. then it sup to radz how much further you want to go to ensure play offs. I think itll be another busy summer though.

1.) 08 May 2018 14:13:34
I can see where you're coming from on all points there Samo; an interesting post, and believe you're right that it will be a hectic summer of ins and outs, both sales, and purchases, as well as loans in both directions.

2.) 08 May 2018 16:42:48
A hectic summer of outs if Orta can work some magic. As for ins, not too sure. With a limited budget, going for quality and the threatened emergence of 2 or 3 young guns I can't see a large influx but 3 or 4 marquee signings will keep me more than happy. Either way/ some way I can see a very different squad starting next season, than finished this.

3.) 08 May 2018 17:47:09
It depends on what this "limited" budget is . M and M from posh, Barts, should be around £15M or so . some of the young guns stepping up now n again, an experienced keeper on a free and I reckon that'll just about do it, of course Eleven Sports might decide to invest some extra cash as well ;)

07 Mar 2018 08:41:33
if Bartley and Pablo go to Brum, i'll be broken.

1.) 08 Mar 2018 00:57:53
Don't think either of them will wanna plat league 1 :)

Take on Friday night is that Bielsa told players from the midfield and defence to get forward more and risk themselves to get goals. I think he's done this to help support Roberts and take the pressure off. Phillips missing, cooper heading over, douglas hitting the post and klichs goal suggests this. Been thrilling to watch klich, looks a threat going forward every time, think this might just be his level though, done well in Holland but could he do it a year later a division above i'm not sure, I hope so but he's excelling massively at the mo, best player in the team as it stands. I'd quite like to see alioski dropped tomorrow, saiz on the wing and Forshaw brought in. Would be great news to see roofe back on the bench, maybe 15 minutes if were lucky?

Shame not to win but I'll take a point in a place where we haven't won for a long time, shows bielsa is doing things not a lot of other managers could. Desperately need Hernandez back now i'm getting sick of alioski, an offside in the first 5 minutes is just careless.

1.) 01 Oct 2018 13:24:54
Seems 12 epl teams chasing kp and the other 10 with tabs on Beradi!
Ever thought of being a scout BW?

2.) 01 Oct 2018 14:43:36
22 teams from a league of 20 is impressive. who ever said 110% didn't exist?

3.) 01 Oct 2018 14:45:23
I see myself as more of a gaffer than scout but I clearly have an eye for it. I have chnaged mind about beradi and like him to stay, don't see him as first teamer over alying or pontus but good stand in if needed (again just keep him off the left) . as for Phillips I would honestly sell him for anything around 2.5 million and be laughing. I still stand by he is mid table championship maybe top of league one quality and i will get his face tattoed on my harris should he go to a prem team for a fee.

4.) 01 Oct 2018 14:57:09
I'm sure he'd look great in shorts and a woggle, Aus! 🙈😜.

5.) 01 Oct 2018 16:49:26
well the shorts would make my calves pop and I am quite handy with a woggle, but what bagdes would I get? Sure I will get some answers on that below.

6.) 01 Oct 2018 20:18:02
Bermondsey, I think you should start ringing around the tattoo shops! your phillipsophobia is blinding you a little! I can see Phillips going to the premiership for more than 2.5 million now! Think about how much some of them have paid to put our players into their reserves. English lad, young, premium product!

Don’t forget to take fotos!

7.) 02 Oct 2018 00:25:02
Alf. Did you really fall for that?

8.) 02 Oct 2018 12:33:44
it's alright spanish i won't use a photo i will use the avatar on fifa 19 for phillips likeness will make the tatoo have a real touch of class about it!

25 Sep 2018 09:04:53
Preffered team for Wednesday:

BPF, Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Douglas. Personally the best defence in the league but 3 of them carry cooper abit, he's gotten better under mb though. Holding should be Forshaw, klich in the middle with dallas and Harrison wide of him, then saiz just off Roberts. really like Roberts and think he could get 10 or so this year form substitutions and the time he's getting at the mo. Harrison another I really like, Hernandez will come straight back in no issues, and phillips I think just needs a rest, we look too much into the performances of phillips, cooper, etc, they'll play because they're the best we've got, are they good enough for promotion? ask again at Christmas, then radz will spend if he has to. top 4 at Christmas is an achievement for me.

1.) 25 Sep 2018 10:40:07
my team would be similar but I would have alisko in for dallas, I can see arguments for both but for me Aloski is too dangerous to drop and his returns is too good, plus i have him in my fanatsy team! I would also bring in blackman. I know this is harsh on BPF and i think BPF has been good this year and improved and promising, however when a keeper let's in a few soft goals (i think he has let in maybe five he will be unhappy with) their confidence can be knocked, his mentallty might be better than this but few soft goals should give blackman a chance, not massivley in favour so again can see arguments either way. I also think baker should be given more time, maybe if we go a couple up rest saiz and give baker some game time as i like the lad.

2.) 25 Sep 2018 12:28:24
Samo, I didn't realise we were playing Wednesday and Friday!
Typical of the Football League to make us play 2 games in 3 days! 😂😂.

3.) 25 Sep 2018 14:18:17
Samo that's about the best of what we have at the moment. Overall still think we are a few short, 3 down the spine and a couple of wingers to get in behind with pace, we are edging ever closer!

4.) 25 Sep 2018 16:05:24
Would start Phillips on bench and give Forshaw a crack at his position. Not sure how fit he is but would be interesting to see how he would fit in. Aylings form over last 2 or 3 games has concerned me needs to get back to his best. Think we are missing Berardi as he is more mobile than coops or pontus. Not sure if we need two big CBs they way we play. Roberts should start and if Roofe fit he is on the bench. Harrison definate Start Alioski but would have Clarke on bench to replace him if needed. Dallas for all his effort is on the bench at best. BPF or Blackman, would it help to swap goalies, not sure. My first thought was BPF needs benching making too many easy errors. Then again i guess he knows this himself and is Blackman any better overall. Leave that one to Bielsa.

5.) 25 Sep 2018 16:54:13
good point with beradi, i think he warrents his place back but who do we drop think both cooper and pontus have been very good.

interesting with harrison, i thought he was not very good against millwall as ineffective yet he scored, then alisko was poor against brum yet he scored while harrision was also apprently very poor against brum with very few touches and only one cross. Harrision was class against preston but then alioski got better returns on in terms of touches, goals and assists. I do wonder if there is that much difference between the two or if both places are under threat? I also hear dallas done well when on? maybe start both but let know clarke and dallas are breathing down their necks. maybe even roberts to wing if roofe fit? think wing will suit roberts better but not sure?

seen the goals from brum and they were poor, i think one lead to another in terms of BPF confience, he also let in few poor goals in pervious games. I am a big fan and been impressed but think he needs to be dropped, other keepers have been dropped for less, i like blackman from what i saw last season and think he needs a shout. interesting point on podcast with noel wealan saying if blackman ain't better than BFP then buck stops with management who should of brought in a better keeper to challange BFP if no faith in balckman, which i think is an interesting point even if i don't agree with it 100%.

6.) 25 Sep 2018 18:06:13
I don't agree with a great deal of what Whelan says.

7.) 25 Sep 2018 18:57:17
not got to be honest Al niether do I, i find him a bit arrogent and comes across as bitter that he ain't still playing because he is 'better than this lot' and very negitive. I did like him as a player though.

8.) 25 Sep 2018 20:40:10
Great post Bige although I’m not sure Forshaw can play the Phillips role. I always had him down in the Klich role but who knows, bielsa apart?
Good point about Ayling and I’d near put the two full backs the same not at their best.

9.) 25 Sep 2018 20:59:57
Noel whelean was never any good anyway, to many ex players and managers run on about us to much, and these pointless newsnow stories are doing my head in, shoddy journalists.

10.) 25 Sep 2018 21:49:02
i agree louis but part and parcel as leeds fans i guess we should be gald of the coverage and interest think many clubs would love the same attention even if 95% is codswhollop.

11.) 26 Sep 2018 02:22:08
Whelan didn’t deliver to his potential did he?

12.) 26 Sep 2018 12:47:03
No he Didn't Aus, a few more around at the time didn't either, Tinkler, McPhail, Jackson.

13.) 26 Sep 2018 13:36:59
McPhail was great player did ok think he was ill thought wasn't he? We had a few more I always had high hopes for jamie forester and the blonde lad who i think was a full back. the team that won the youth cup delievered very little really.

14.) 26 Sep 2018 16:23:22
Bermondsey, do you mean Kevin Sharp?

15.) 26 Sep 2018 16:34:21
Yeah, as seems par for the course, McPhail left us and was immediately a better player :)

17 Sep 2018 09:08:34
A personal opinion on Saturday, shows that this is definitely not a 2 horse race, and we have to watch our backs. Good run of games coming and 12 points is now a must. Life in the championship will start to hit bielsa I just hope he isn't one of these managers to use injuries as an excuse. Must be a win tomorrow night in order to get the season back on track and brentford off our backs. neal maupay is looking like a bargain for them. Bristol chasing, and boro still not far off, we've got to be careful, in the next 5 games we could be mid table or we could be top of the tree. Didn't see the game, anyone know hwo Forshaw did when he came on, hearing mixed reviews about Harrison. Also would like to see edmondson at some point, think he needs to back Roberts tomorrow night but give edmondson a run while you can. For me on the whole a disappointing weekend but still top. MOT.

1.) 17 Sep 2018 10:33:54
Not sure anyone thought it was a two horse race Samo, far too early. We have got a new manager, shaping a new approach with a squad and a stack of injuries. Not sure anybody thought we would be in this position before the season started. Agreed on the next two games. Preston and Birmingham need to be six points but won’t be easy. Let’s see how that goes.

There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews about what happened on Saturday. I’m a big Eddie Gray fan and he rated Harrison, best game so far for the club, so that’s good enough for me. He is a loan player but seems to be giving his all, very professional and I should imagine learning all the time, oh yes and he scored a vital goal, that should be enough in itself; no one else did!

2.) 17 Sep 2018 18:06:41
yeah Spanish I have re thought about my harrision comments

had a few and think i was influenced by the wall fans around me

i found harrision annyoing as things didn't seem to come off for him

saiz and alisiko scared the life out of the millwall fans and that influenced me i think

wall fans or eddie grey. i know who i would listen to more.

3.) 17 Sep 2018 18:47:29
Just shows what an excellent scouting team Brentford have Sam, for a club with small budgets etc they always seem to find players who can not only perform but excel in this league .
Shame we can't nick there I believe two main scouts and get rid of Orta .

30 Aug 2018 07:19:24
There are a few players which the jury is out on in our squad at the minute. who would you prefer, thumbs up for Paudie O'Connor, thumbs down for shaugnessy. I know Paudie is out on loan but I personally think he should have been kept. thoughts and reasons.

1.) 30 Aug 2018 07:56:36
I think it’s a good debate about what is best for the player, he’s is playing all the time for Blackpool and has virtually played as much time in the first team with them as he did whilst he was with us. So he’s got the chance of a full years competitive league one football vs Shaunessy, bench and sub appearances. OConnor is the more traditional CB and Shaunessy a bit more versatile as to Bielsas taste. It’ll be interesting to see how they are both rated by the year end.

2.) 30 Aug 2018 14:53:59
In Bielsa we trust

Whatever he thinks is fine by me

If we keep the faith, long term, he could build something special.

28 Aug 2018 15:04:18
Team and prediction for tonight:

Blackman, obvious reasons. Shackleton, Deserves it. Shaugnessy, Think he should be ready by now, gone under the cuff a bit. Ayling (playing as a CB as Berardi could do with a rest) , Rest Jansson for Friday, much bigger game. Pearce, Deserves it. Baker, deserves it, looks a player imo. Phillips, Klich is more important to be rested for Friday. Harrison, expect a good performance tonight, he needs one most other players have had one by now. Roberts, Deserves it after pre season and didn't play for 23's last night. Bamford, Point to prove. Think we need to rest saiz too, having saiz that, jansson, saiz roofe, alioski, BPF will probably all make the bench. Could be a tough game though and I think its starting to show that we're missing Forshaw, only a matter of time before phillips has another howler. Would like to see dallas back soon, Clarke and edmondson both played a full game last night which is a shame, doubt they'll feature.

2-1 leeds bamford to get both.

1.) 28 Aug 2018 16:43:53
My worry with Phillips is he has a poor recovery rate and three games a week means he will be playing below par before long. don't know why he is like that but showed with U23s and was his downfall last season. Different player when fresh, hopefully Bielsa will sort that out.

2.) 28 Aug 2018 18:17:59
I hope Phillips gets a night off tonight, too much to expect him to play every game. I think he might play Pontus, as he hasn’t had much game time, perhaps captain? Shaunessy, Pearce, Shackleton, Baker, Roberts, Harrison, Bamford, just not sure how you fill the Phillips and Klich positions?

Wouldn't say impossible. 3-5-2

BPF, Jansson, Phillips, Cooper, Shackleton, Klich, Forshaw, Douglas, Hernandez, Saiz, Roofe?

genuinely rather keep the boy tyler in than bring back roofe, saying that seeing Roberts score will push him, and Roberts could even replace alioski on the wing. Harrison will be very hard to dislodge from this team now.

Dallas leading the line, I mean he runs like a dog after a ball, he's not got a bad shot, but he'd get sucked into the midfield battle too much. no promotion winning team uses last seasons reserve RB/ LB as a striker. Roberts now next in line for me, alioski is even a better hout, izzy brown has also played there.

Very bold, but a part of me agrees totally, give it 2 games where roofe doesn't score, bamford will be in. Personally think he might even start v milwall as he's got a bigger presence, roofe works so much harder and its commendable, but against boro bamford should have started, would have been hungrier to prove a point to pulis, would have loved to have 1 over on his old team mates, and has height but is still mobile, could have proved the difference. Begging for bamford to come good.

In terms of cover for KP, Forshaw is now back when the international break is done, and izzy brown also back so if needs be klich or baker can sit deeper to fill that role. KP needs bigger performances against team like wall or he will be dropped, saw that against Bolton when he was brought off that bielsa isn't afraid.

Was just coming on to ask if anybody thought roofe would find it coming back in the team but to be honest, I could see alioski being the man to be dropped and Roberts being stuck out wide. Really is starting to look a good piece of business. 5 goals including pre season so far, effectively won us 6 points so far as his goals killed off preston and won it for us last night. think roofe will have a task, anyone feeling worried for bamford?

People favour boro and brom because they don't play nice football and have more prem quality than us. I think bielsa came here to win the league, the only other manager in the league with that sort of attitude for me is pulis. 22 points from 11 games is phenomenal, why are we complaining? roofe and Hernandez will fix any errors people are discussing, we will keep brentford out as jansson and cooper are playing exceptionally, i'm not worried I agree with Spanish. some fans on here only seem to be happy when its 100% win ratio, we won last night, i'm not bothered about a few off performances personally as they are not our most crucial players, you can expect an attacking quartet of Hernandez, saiz, brown, roofe as the eason goes on, 1 of these 4 is currently starting games, and will improve when the quality around him improves. you've then still god bamford, Roberts, Clarke, edmondson, dallas, alioski, Harrison, baker, who could all play there, what's the worry boys, keep positive.

ALAW I agree with your post, Alioski hasn't been excellent, saying that 3 goals and 2 assist from 8 games is good in this team. He's been fortunate with injuries though because I think if roofe was fit Roberts would have replaced alioski on the left by now, similarly, I think Harrison is streets ahead of alioski therefore when Hernandez is back alioski will drop down the pecking order.

Alioski got 2 in 2 over the break too. Whos stopping us? only club side that's players scored more goals over the break was madrid.
