The latest news of mid week: FROM I understand saiz is all but done, a real talent, fee reportedly £3.1m. Alioski has gone quiet, there were rumours linking him with fiorentina late last week, this may Have cost us? Felix Wiedewald is a new one. Goalkeeper from werder bremen in bundesliga. SImilar level to green with space to grow at 27. 500K fee agreed allegedly. Mario Pasalic the latest. Only a loan signing from Chelsea but previously at AC Milan and wanted by Valencia, could be a talent for us if we get him in. Plays attacking midfield or on the wing Durnisi from the Spanish first division is a left back we're looking at to replace Taylor. Highly rated and potentially expensive at £5m. Wanted by Liverpool but he may choose us for game time? Who knows. THE thing I like about it all most is that there is ambition in the signings and we aren't selling to be able to fund purchase. This to me suggests we have money and TC will complete most of his ins before players leave us. Good to have an abundance rather than a shortage.

1.) 28 Jun 2017 13:34:12
good summary Samo and I agree with you - exciting times and definitely trying to sign quality rather than rubbish.

2.) 28 Jun 2017 13:30:46
With abundance comes a wage bill. Always nice to have depth and options but I am always cautious following our previous demise and financial issues - like the ambition but really hope it's all for a longer term goal and not a fast buck. Also hope that we can continue to support it as the promising youngsters start demanding more! You can only have 11 on the field and the rest can't all sit on the bench! That all sounds negative and probably is but only because I don't want us scratching around for players and wages to pay them if it all goes belly up😁 I am really excited about some of the players coming in, but yet again we don't seem to be looking at back - where we really do need to invest for depth. Early days and looking forward to see what pans out👍🏻👍🏻MOT

So the new mans in and his targets are being made clear already. Mateusz Klich - central mid. £2m bid suggested after having initial £1.5m rejected. Alioski- Right wing/Striker. £2.6m bid lodged waiting for a response. Prolific last season scoring 17 goals and 14 assists in Swiss league. I like the sound of this one but what happens with roofe and sacko. Samu Saiz - striker/ attacking mid. 12 goals and 8 assists in second Spanish division last season. Eibar have made a bid but we're looking to steal for £3m. Similar player to pablo but about 8 wars younger. Also been rumoured by the sun and Steve Evans that Leeds have about £20m budget for this summer to rediscover a promotion bid. Probably false as we'd need to buy the stadium first and rads has discussed this. However he may be making a gamble on security of promotion this season to fund a development of ER next year. Thoughts about this?

1.) 21 Jun 2017 16:48:32
TC prefers a 433 formation and with Roofe able to play LW and ST it could actually help him, Roofe-Wood-Alioski, that said I would rather bring in a LW as I don't think Roofe will score enough (perfect time to bring Mad Max back) .

Sacko would take a hit but it might do him good to have someone like Alioski to learn from and compete with for that place. The strange one for me is Saiz, I don't see how Hernandez fits into a 433 as is so why bring in a similar player. £20m might not be far off the mark, we expect to get £5m for Taylor, would expect to pick up a couple more mill from clearing out some of the unwanted players, talk of another £5m if schmeichel swaps clubs, running costs are down, ticket sales up, etc.

As for ER it doesn't count towards FFP and Rad is wealthy enough to buy it back (a loan from his personal account to his business account that will then be paid back over time if I had to guess) .

2.) 21 Jun 2017 18:54:51
It all sounds exciting doesn't it

3.) 21 Jun 2017 21:31:29
Does that £20m include the £5m for Sacko and Pontus?

4.) 21 Jun 2017 22:14:09
Or is it smoke and cloaks to throw you off the scent? Best register a sitting with mystic meg ;)

5.) 22 Jun 2017 00:16:17
Yes I believe it does but that should be made up like it's been said before through Taylor, players like Erwin, bellusci, silvestri all leaving. I'd also expect to see a big bid for wood in the coming days ladies and gents. He's happy here so serious money would have to turn his head, off knows though may still be banging them in and all of a sudden he's got 15 by January and £20m steals him. let's hope not but that's a huge amount. Similarly he may only get 10 all season, hence the purpose for signing some new talent and getting rid of the likes of antonsson or possibly douk? Pre-season to start Monday with a few arriving late, but it'll be interesting to see who comes and goes

6.) 22 Jun 2017 09:11:47
Wow no way I didn't expect Chris wood to attract attention :o but it's ok he's happy here so when a premiership team comes knocking he will say no I'm happy at Leeds lol stop kidding yourself, Chris wood will be wanted by quite a few teams and he will leave if he gets a chance of playing in the premiership whether that's at Southampton or Huddersfield he won't care because right now they are all better than Leeds united.

13 Jun 2017 11:31:29
Question for you all regarding antonsson. Do we sell him? I know he was given around 10/12 games to show his worth last year and £1.2m isn't cheap, but if we were to sell him he'd go for roughly the same I think. My fear is that he signs for somebody like Cardiff, Bristol, Forrest, for cheap, then scores 20 odd goals because they give him a chance, would this be something you'd regret?

I think we wait until the manager comes in, let him chat to the players, see what they're made off, spend Pre-season shuffling about and then decide on who to sell, perhaps even leave it until January?

I know he didn't prove his worth but he showed glimpses in my opinion, his record in the Swedish league was good but if he needs to compete we need to start seeing it. Would you hold on to him or would he be one of your first out the door?

1.) 13 Jun 2017 12:00:09
I don't think he was given a fair shot last season at all, I'd Definately give him another season.

He should be settled in and a full pre-season with the squad could open new doors for him.

Never understood why when we was struggling for goals we never looked towards Antonsson or even tried one of the academy lass (baring Sutton of course) .

Certainly for the money we paid I'd give him another chance, a different manager might see what Monk didn't.

We weren't the only team interested in him by far when we signed him so we should give him another try.

2.) 14 Jun 2017 12:26:21
New on here, yes we need new manager asap.but sick of hearing we've missed out on this or that player.Says Who.new boss might not won't any of the players Phil Hay,wants.

08 Jun 2017 22:17:42
Jaap STAM by 5/2 suggests to me he's been interviewed. Good links with good teams but not a person I'd Be keen on

1.) 09 Jun 2017 12:39:21
why would he leave Reading for us anyway? what would he gain?

2.) 09 Jun 2017 13:08:22
Bigger fan base, bigger stadium, better quality of players, better scouting network.

3.) 09 Jun 2017 13:36:40
Bigger fan base yes, stadium is bigger (but there's is better) , scouting about the same I'd say, quality of players? well they finished third so that is open for debate, granted the mule like manager didn't help us last year, but still!

4.) 09 Jun 2017 14:03:44
Jaap Stam would probably be a good choice, but then there's that Man Utd link!

5.) 09 Jun 2017 14:07:54
If we are so much better than Reading, how come they made the play-offs and we didn't. Meanwhile back on planet Earth!

6.) 10 Jun 2017 11:33:44
You all saw why we didn't make the play offs and we all put it on one mans head. If these great defenders in Hanson and Bartley were so great we'd have seen out the season properly, wood carried on scoring fair enough, but tactically we were poor, that's why we didn't make the play offs. STAM wouldn't let that happen to us, but I'm still not sure I want him. Phil Parkinson for me

7.) 10 Jun 2017 18:54:53
Johnny Giles had a link to that shower too

19 May 2017 00:30:21
West Ham, Southampton, Swansea and Stoke are all keen on £20m-rated Leeds striker Chris Wood after the 25-year-old New Zealand international finished top scorer in the Championship, with 27 goals. (Sun) This being reported by BBC sport today. If any of these came up with £15-20m for wood would you take it? I know what I'd say.

1.) 19 May 2017 16:16:02
I think 20 mil is a great return for NZ boy. Let him go with mega thanks for his contribution and best of luck, he deserves it. Then get some replacements quickly instead of the usual last minute dot com. BB

Before he was appointed TC stated what he would have done in particular situations which monk didn't to radrizanni. To me it is evident that after all the fans saying we had no plan B, that this is where there is logic to the signings of Ekuban, Saiz, and Alioski. These players may be starters or alternatives, we don't know the capabilities of our coaching staff and the gel within the team yet, Austria will certainly test us on this. After these 3 players sign, which I expect to be likely, I am of the opinion that orta and his staff will go all out to sign 1 last proven defender and a promising left back. Borthwick Jackson sounds appealing after his performances in the English leagues, this would be a good one to sign permanently, offering competition for Denton. I can also see us looking to sign flint, batth, or salamon as a CB. Whatever happens I have faith in TC as he appears to have a strategy around his signings. I think he'll hold on to the majority of players until the 1st game of the season, then look to offload what he doesn't want after this. Isn't it nice for once to be maintaining our good players and attracting new ones for a decent worth. With these lot in charge I'd expect to see our transfer record broken with in the next 2/3 years. 15 Jun 2017 18:55:44
I've done as much research as possible and here's what I've found. In his time at AEK he knew how to make the best of the squad he had with 4/5 additions over the 12 months which were all successful from Spanish first and second division, roughly. Between 28-33 years old. He generally plays a 4-5-1 and a 4-3-3 when going forward, possibly suiting woody and sacko. Implications of a 3 in midfield suggest vieira, bridcutt and okane, perhaps someone new to come in and challenge for this position. He is a very welcoming manager and is very passionate about his players work ethic. A real family man apparently so if he gets it right here we may just have a new father. It's very early doors but I'm excited. He's worked under a DOF in Cyprus as this is allegedly normal for them, with scouting networks already implemented in the teams. To me this suggests that orta's role, and AR's budget may be a combination to admire, with TC getting the best from the players. I can finally get to bed now and on go the transfer rumours, who's first?

12 Jun 2017 15:59:50
Freddie woodman just won the U20's WC and wants to leave Newcastle? Goalkeeper, worth a shot?

1.) 13 Jun 2017 14:54:48
he'd probably save it

05 Jun 2017 11:00:11
Anybody else seriously bored of waiting? I've never had a much more boring closed period and we're only a month in! Might be because we had something to play for every week last season. COuple things I'd like to shout about. Firstly, I'm dying to see us appoint ranieri, but I'm also more than comfortable to see pep given a go. He managed us for the Birmingham game and it was one of our more convincing away performances all season. Well timed subs, a good team to put out, job well done with some attractive football. I'll miss Gary because he got us going again, and we have a lot to thank him for, but similarly he left us unfinished, maybe that's why Cellini only appointed him for 12 months? Because he knew rads had bigger plans when he took over. If you're from Manchester you might call it a masterplan😂 Secondly I'm dying to see what the new manager is like with transfers, with fletcher signing for stoke that makes way for Charlie Adam to move to Leeds. I'd also like to see howson back, Phillips loaned out, vieira played consistently, and bridcutt given a run for his money to test whether he's up to being captain, if he remains captain. A new central defender, in my day I used to be one and I remember seeing Paul McKay against Cambridge, he looked promising for us. Too soon though so maybe a Phil jagielka for a year? Cool head, worked with green, good distribution, strong on the challenge. I don't want to hear the word 'back up' used anymore for a new striker, I'd rather see someone who can give wood competition, than someone who's just sat on the bench waiting for him to be injured, or suspended. Britt assombalonga may be a good shout and with Forrest in dier need of cash, it may be a steal to sign him. I'd advise getting rid of Dallas as I don't think he's got the passion for a team with lofty ambitions this year, but who do you replace him with? Matt Jarvis, Kenneth Zohore, Canos, and Jota are all players I think would do brilliant for us this year if we could poach them. But who knows what's abroad for our new manager to unearth. Either way I'm optimistic and dying to find out. MOT brothers.

1.) 05 Jun 2017 13:44:27
good post buddy.

2.) 05 Jun 2017 16:33:50
I wasn't bored of hearing nothing from the men up top so I thought I'd make up some conspiracies myself

29 May 2017 12:59:58
Patrick vieira linked to Leeds as manager with odds at 8/1. What would your opinion be on this? Currently managing a very good team in New York City in the US. Not too much experience in management or of the league but a huge personality and seems to be successful in a play off based league over in America, worth a shot or would you rather see a high profile like spaletti from inter?

1.) 29 May 2017 13:08:15
Could probably end up getting some decent loanees from Man City, Roberts, Sancho, Aleix Garcia.

2.) 29 May 2017 14:14:01
That would mean Ronaldo Viera would be made captain and club president on the first day!

3.) 29 May 2017 15:34:16
We need someone with clear contacts to premier league or higher standard of sources. A good pre-season and team development like Huddersfield have had this year. With some money thrown on the right heads, we'll be up there fighting. who do you make that man though?

4.) 29 May 2017 17:28:18
Patrick Vieria, would be a great sign of intent, as it would be his first job in management in England. He would not want to fail, so would only join us if he had been guaranteed funds to bring in players. Think about it, if he was the coach, how much would we be looking forward to next season, as opposed to the start of Cellino's reign with Hockaday!

Cheers gents. Over facilitating is better than no plan B if you ask me. If he is to play a 4-2-3-1 like he has done in friendlies, TC has so many options in midfield now as we're all aware, I think there are about 12 potential midfielders in austria. 3 keepers, we all know we're light at the back but flint and voyer are 2 to keep an eye on. Potentially £4m for flint. And saiz, douk, alioski, antonsson or roofe could all replace wood at some stage if necessary. We only really had douk as an alternative last year, arguably Roofe but he was more crucial on the right IMO. Sacko, Wood, Alioski as a front 3 in a 4-3-3 could be lethal. Excited for the friendly tomorrow to see if the new lads start.

Forget transfer sagas, and pre season, look forward to the real thing, only 3 weeks left! We're not under monk anymore there's no drama in failing to sign targets, radz isn't playing, he's trusting orta and throwing his money where he feels appropriate to get what he wants. This bloke knows that there will be 30000 plus in ER every Saturday, so at £30 a pop he's not shy of spending his money to make that 30000 come back every week. I like that, I think the management finally understand what passionate fans we are and are looking to reward us for our loyalty. Get excited gents

The good thing about us is that we don't know, nothing is proven. We have brid, anita, jansson, green, wood, and ayling who for me are all established championship players. We have quality in saiz, alioski, sacko (debatable) , wiedewald, vieira, and generally, potential in all areas. We have a manager who is used to winning, but unproven, he may well do a renieri and prove that the league makes little difference to his tactics and that he plays his own way and that wins him games, he's proven that at 2 different teams. There are teams this season like villa who are building on foundations of championship quality, whereas we have unproven talent within, it's a risk but I like the balls people are willing to show to prove that a risk is rewarding. Genuinely can see alioski being player of the season, very similar to knockaert, could be a huge threat.

Erwin may be scoring goals but look who he's scoring them against, is that his level? Wood could have had about 10 based on antonson and Erwin's chances. I hear roofs has started well, I feel for the lad though, with so many attacking players I can't seem to work out a formation or s team to suit our best line-up. Who would you leave out? For me it'd be a 4-3-3 Wiedewald, ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Berardi, vieira, Anita, Saiz, Alioski, Wood, Ekuban.

Alioski roofe, phillips, vieira, okane, ekuban, Pennington all showed positive signs against an overall better team. Looked to me as though the loss of Beattie hasn't helped wood. Negatives for me were green, safe kicks, Bridgett, general awful display, Dallas, weak. These positions are definitely up for grabs and I'd expect to see alioski, wiedewald and klich starting against oxford (klich if fit) . Good to get 2 back after half time, poor to concede 3 before it. Game lost before given any opportunity
