I'm sorry that TC didn't work out. He may have let himself down but he has also been let down by the players and the recruitment. But he has gone and Radz has taken action, let's hope he also puts the performance pressure on the others as well. The next appointment is an important one, so possibly recruit on a temporary basis, if the guy delivers the play offs in the time left he stays on, if not there is more time to evaluate him or other options. If we are going with someone with success and knowledge of our league, not sure any of Strachan, O'Leary or SG meet all of that now. Definitely not Maclaren!

07 Jan 2018 21:26:53
Not bothered about losing today but disappointed that many of the fringe players or returning players didn't take the opportunity they were given. OK, TC can take the blame for picking them but these are players who should be fighting to establish themselves as regulars. The other real damage is Saiz getting himself sent off when we really need him. The only good thing is that it highlights the need to strengthen both to improve the first 11 and the squad.

The Middlesborough decision on Monk is interesting. You can criticise him for his style but then again, the board should have known what they were buying. A dodgy start but then won 6out of 10,wins today and gets sacked! 9th in the league. Clubs should take note if Birmingham City, not much more than a year ago on the fringes of playoffs with Gary Rowett, fire him, appoint Zola, disaster, spent loads of money on Harry to stay alive, sacked him and now bottom of the table and where is there x manager, guiding Derby County into the playoffs! I Hope that our chairman's support and praise for TC works. I think we are really building something that is going in the right direction, always need to keep fine tuning and I would like to see at least two quality additions in Jan, but sometimes patience and time works!

1.) 24 Dec 2017 08:38:39
Spanishleeds, I hope and pray ever game and hope that works, patience is Leeds fans second name.

2.) 24 Dec 2017 09:34:03
Spanish great post, I think it was more the way Middlesbrough were playing and not to mention the cash they spent . I do think it's Wolves and Derby for the top two, but we do have a window so my views could change . For us play-offs more than possible .

3.) 24 Dec 2017 12:14:55
Middlesbrough want an instant return to the prem and thought Monk was the answer. Just shows even with a large spending spree on players, Monk isn't the Great Manager he Thought He Was. He Left Leeds As We didn't Match His Ambitions. Never Nice to See Anyone Lose Their Job, But A Little Smile Today, He Will Pick Up A New Club As This sport rewards failure of you are a manager of coach. As to our club, quietly putting some points on the board. One game at a time, definately need to strengthen for the play off push. Happy Christmas fellow whites, m. o. t

4.) 24 Dec 2017 12:15:25
I feel our team are a good, top of middle, team. Not quite challenging for top two but of the nearly rans we are top of the pile. Of course 2/3 quality additions could change all that. Whether that comes in January or even next summer I do not care (I do actually but will rely on TCs good judgement) . PS However I will be more than happy with a long string of 1-0s to the end of the season!

5.) 24 Dec 2017 12:57:53
At the moment I would say Wolves are destined for the top 2 but, looking at our next half a dozen games, they are all winnable. Following those we are down to the nitty-gritty, Cardiff, Blunts, Bristol, Derby, Brentford, boro, Wolves. I reckon 15 or more points from that 7 games and we're in with a shout :) as ever . the eternal optimist MOT . ALAW

6.) 24 Dec 2017 17:06:29
Spanish No more complicated than Boro wants Pulls now he's available. They're upgrading so Monk had to go.

7.) 26 Dec 2017 12:42:16
George the oracle does it again ! :)

8.) 26 Dec 2017 14:04:16
Spot on George, when you gaze into your magic ball can you still see David Oleary on the M62 in his taxi or has he parked up for crumb? Merry Christmas.

9.) 26 Dec 2017 18:00:35
It’s a results business most of the time and any new job is a risk really. Didn’t work out for Monkey at the ‘Boro but it’s a tough place. Best of luck to him in his next job as long as he doesn’t do as well as the Mighty Leeds Utd

23 Dec 2017 12:41:48
Another tough game today, one of those that could easily trip us up. Hoping the great crowd and the show of scarves will see us through, another tough 1-0!But that will take us to the half year point and I think a fair reflection of where we are. The key period for me during the second half of the year will be Feb! We need to show that we can take more points of the top sides and that should be our focus for the Jan window. Been an interesting year for our great club and let's hope we can really show that in the second half. Merry Christmas everyone!

1.) 23 Dec 2017 12:59:19
I disagree. I think we are lucky to be still 7th. I don't see any real quality in this league other than wolves. But don't see us showing anymore consistency than the average and don't beat the teams that matter. We shall see how 2nd half pans out.

2.) 23 Dec 2017 16:33:37
What Aus, you don't wish your fellow fans a Merry Christmas, you don't think it is Christmas or you don't think we will win 1_0?Merry Christmas Fella enjoy the shiraz!

3.) 24 Dec 2017 08:41:53
Spanishleeds you got that spot on can you do the scores to end of season so I can do my bets, have a happy Christmas 🎄

24 Nov 2017 00:35:10
Just arrived back in the UK after a long and rough ferry journey from Spain so haven't seen the highlights yet. But 4-1 against the league leaders away, after 2-1 and then a red card, doesn't seem like the end of the world to me. I'm surprised that people think Radz will call time on that evidence. He wants TC to succeed, that means top six this year, his target and still not one that should be given up! I think the next two games are the important tests, we should be expecting to beat Barnsley and Villa are the type of team we need to be competing with for the playoffs. If we lose both those games, it could be a different story. But sooner or later we need to stick with a manager and let him build and i haven't given up on TC yet and i don't think the chairman has either.

1.) 24 Nov 2017 04:21:10
I think its good to be patient. But there are not too many chairmans of football clubs that would accept 7 losses 1 win. i'm hoping he carries on and turns it around but in my opinion, he is lucky to still be there. I haven't seen any evidence that he has the ability to turn it around. I think he is too light weight for this league. I think the team are capable of play offs. Think he lacks though. let's hope he proves me wrong.

2.) 24 Nov 2017 10:57:57
Agreed. let's preach patience, and hopefully, the ages of the 2 (new) signings underline the long term strategy of AR. Players maybe not ready now (altho if the situation demands? ) but can slot in next year or even the year after. My only question is, with all this young talent, why aren't we sitting on top of the academy league? I too think we should try everything to stick with the manager but Aussie as you say he doesn't seem to be capable of turning it around which is strange as the very reason he got the job was on impressing AR on how he would have turned around some of our previous losses. MOT.

3.) 24 Nov 2017 11:45:49
TC will not be leaving until the end of the season, the goal is play offs, but monk didn't make play offs and was allowed to continue, it wouldn't be financially sensible to sack a good manager. TC will stay, more good players will come, and Leeds will go up, one day.

4.) 24 Nov 2017 13:45:54
I disagree. I bet tc is gone by xmas.

5.) 25 Nov 2017 15:58:37
I'll take that bet, Aus? How much we talking? £100 say TC is our manager post Christmas. Would be confident in saying by end of Jan we will be top 4

Feeling very positive today! We have a manager who will have made it clear what influence he wants to have, what players he needs and who has a world class book of contacts of younger managers who will be keen to help him out. Add to that, we are paying a lot of money for his knowledge and expertise . He has to work out how to adapt his style to a long championship season with many tough games. But it's going to be an exciting journey. Pontus wanted a sign of intent, hopefully he has got it. I suspect he will also get some good performances out of some of the players we might have given up on. Never mind the World Cup, bring on the pre season!

1.) 15 Jun 2018 12:47:32
Totally agree Spanish. He will defo bring out the best of our good players, might make some average ones look better, plus I doubt he will tolerate the dross! Now for some signings!

01 Jun 2018 15:55:22
Did we tell him a, before he went on holiday B, when he landed at the airport and was waiting for a taxi to the ground or C, by text whilst he was sunbathing! Wow, let's hope third time lucky! I imagine not a bad payout for a few months work! Like the idea of a mad genius but do we really have the management set up to cope with that. Oh well livens up the summer!

1.) 01 Jun 2018 16:58:25
So, it looks like El Loco, the Tinkerman, Laudrup, MicMac, Brucie, maybe even Grayson? All the money seems to be going on El Loco atm, where's our resident tipster, LiG, to help us?

2.) 01 Jun 2018 17:15:09
Apparently Orta flew out to where he is on holiday to tell him. Just needs somebody to fly out and give Orta the same news.

3.) 01 Jun 2018 18:22:26
Just need to sack Orta (know it won't happen! ) And some of the donkeys that masqueraded as football players and we should be able to move on.

26 Apr 2018 09:06:12
Lots of references to a pre season tour but what maes it even worse in my mind is that it seems to be a post season tour in May. What's the purpose? Which players would we want to take and get used to playing together in May. Obviously aside from the fact we shouldn't be going there anywhere. Get the best of the under 23s, under 18s and those likely to stay and book a Butlins somewhere, more useful!

1.) 26 Apr 2018 10:22:03
Totally agree Spanish, the tour serves no footballing purpose. No doubt it does however serve a financial/marketing purpose for Mr Radz. It will be a great dissapointment to the Burmese when we field a team of reserves because the good ones don't want to go. Hope for their sake they have a clause written in to the contract. Actually I don't I would rather our good players sat on a beach somewhere after all the excersions they have put in this year (sits back and waits for response! )

2.) 26 Apr 2018 11:07:02
I missed the exertion mate. What game was that ? Agree tour a waste of time. Sitting on a beach. They should be on a training pitch learning to play football

3.) 26 Apr 2018 11:18:06
It serves a personal financial purpose to our chairman who thinks leeds fans are stupid and he can mug them off

4.) 26 Apr 2018 14:55:03
Purpose is to raise transfer fee funds in the summer window

5.) 26 Apr 2018 18:28:41
He said the club are making no money money from the trip george

6.) 26 Apr 2018 18:31:58
How do you know he thinks we are stupid? On what factual information is that based? MDo you have a psychic insight to his thoughts or something?

7.) 26 Apr 2018 19:41:43
Martyn The club won't be but he will. Digital media profits which he will then lawfully siphon to augment transfer kitty or you think it coincidence he has such an online presence in the Far East? Radz is a very clever man and he seeks to avoid fan criticism for next season. This is his solution.

23 Mar 2018 16:03:44
Another win for the under 23s! 3-0 against Cardiff. Real team spirit with these lads and some good quality patient buildup. The polish goalkeeper made a couple of good saves early on and Dalby and Clarke looked good again. They are now in 3rd place, after a very slow start. Some hope for the future!

1.) 23 Mar 2018 16:08:05
Interesting. Getting walloped first up. Looking good.

2.) 23 Mar 2018 17:04:59
Yer right Spanish! Clarke and Dalby both deserve first team run outs before the end of the season!

3.) 23 Mar 2018 20:17:58
Orta’s a talent spotting god. All hail orta😇

4.) 24 Mar 2018 02:20:33
I couldn't understand how sooo many on here were slagging orta off lucas. Give the man a break i say!

5.) 24 Mar 2018 07:44:11
I was one giving Orta a hard time on here but might have to eat humble pie if the U23s keep improving at the rate of knots! Could have 6 or 7 hungry new stars for next season! Maybe Orta is better sticking to youth spotting! Its going to be an interesting summer window to see who goes who stays which of the U23s step up and who Orta brings in for the first team!

6.) 24 Mar 2018 11:03:54
I really hope I will be embarrased next year. As one who was questioning Ortas decisions if would give me the greatest of pleasure to wipe egg off my face when we have a team of young guns next year terrorising the Championship.

7.) 24 Mar 2018 19:37:12
How do I get a thumbs down for wishing we do good next year with young players? Confused.

10 Feb 2018 10:37:45
Amidst all the doom and gloom, worth celebrating that under 23 win a bit! 5-1 against a side unbeaten since September. Pearce, quite rightly getting plaudits but signs of a team coming together there.

1.) 10 Feb 2018 10:45:50
Let's hope so.

Cultural are just outside the relegation zone and there is concern that they could fall into the Spanish third, not what their investors want. It will be really interesting to see what impact he has as he will probably get a lot if game time, perhaps we have a recall option?

Perhaps that's the secret Aus, don't watch the games! Better for your blood pressure. I think earlier in the season when you weren't able to see the games we went on a good winning spell! Yesterday was a typical leeds nailbiter, 1-0 lead and six minutes extra time! Stay away from the tele next saturday!

Just a difference of opinion Aus! don't think we are losing games or points because of the goalkeeper. Our problem is that we have not been able to beat the teams leading the way at the top of the table and lack consistency, not the goalies vault. If he is as bad as you claim, he willl be replaces so we shall see. But he's a Leeds player wearing the shirt and I wish him all the best and hope he can prove you wrong!

I think LUFCfev raises a good point about the real money owners staying away from Leeds. On paper, one city club, solid fan base but the real money has gone elsewhere. Until that changes, it’s going to be about spending wisely, growing the youngsters and finding the right manager who can work with what he has. That is definitely a work in progress! Hopefully the investment in the youngsters is and will produce some stars and the good thing about a 5 year plan is you can learn and adapt it in the early years. So we shall see.

Can’t see this coach going anywhere until he has had the first ten games of the new season. By then we will see what those spending our cash have learnt from the first 12 months. Let’s hope! On a lighter note, good to see Pablo still training at his local club, just up the road from me. Fed up with the baby crying?

Bright you’re right, good pressing play and some really confident creative football. Martyn, it’s good fun football and better for my mental health at the moment than watching the first team! I wonder if any championship team has ever dropped its entire first team and fielded the under 23 team instead! We would probably win the game and then get fined a fortune and docked points for fielding a weakened team! They are playing again on Friday vs Cardiff, 7pm I think, worth watching if you have the chance.

Because I’ve been at a loss about what to say about the first team, I have been watching more of the under 23s. Firstly tonight’s game was a great watch, good carefree attacking football and secondly you can really see how this squad of players is developing. Some good quality play, good build up, don’t know the stats but we could have had a lot more goals. Still a bit hung ho, but I can see some more of these players coming through. I think the strategy might be working more with the development squad than with the first team!

Well said PA, great result for the under 23s, let’s hope that strategy is coming good. I wonder if the new boss saw the game, might have given them a bit of encouragement. I can understand how people fell, it’s been a year of change and a roller coaster ride of optimism and failure. Let’s move on, fresh start, new opportunities. Still lots to be excited and hopeful about.

5-1 Pearce goal after a good run, he seems to have had a cracker.
