I think Tuesday hurt the players! The response was fantastic. Third game in less than a week, that's not a team tiring or fading away. Can anyone not believe after that set of answers!

To me it shows how much the players want it and how much they want it for Bielsa!

Great shout Spanish think that sums it up what a night at Elland road.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 11:38:05
They were hurting

He put the same team out with the message

I believe in you, put it right

& they did

Here endeth the lesson.

I knew that if we were patient enough and kept taking the blue pills, that something big would pop up and take the attention away from Soygate! I'm not being hard on Big Alan but I think Penisgate is bigger! Bit of a cock up posting photos of your asset on Twitter in error! Easy mistake Big Al, I've done it a few times myself with messages to Fat Frank and the Vicar! Cum on everyone now there's a new scandal to talk about!

I think it might be much ado about nothing 😉.

3.) 28 Jan 2019 22:05:36
Hope the pic didn't live up to his last name.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 11:15:53
Sorry, missed all that I will have re looked in the Times AND the Telegraph.

5.) 29 Jan 2019 14:32:54
Me too. Havnt a clue what you lot talking about.

6.) 29 Jan 2019 14:37:17
Leo and Martyn Type in to your preferred engine of search "Alan Hardy penis".

7.) 29 Jan 2019 15:04:01
Been a bit picky George but it's not like he's bringing the game into disrepute is it? Any way the efl are too busy looking at ways to punish teams that don't break any laws. And lastly why are you typing 'alan hardy penis' into your search engine George?

8.) 29 Jan 2019 15:36:01
Martyn I didn't but you did 😆😆.

9.) 29 Jan 2019 15:49:05
Actually George I didn't need to as I only got as far as Alan har and it came up. No punt ment.

10.) 29 Jan 2019 16:34:15
It’s a funny world when scouts watching football is a dodgy behaviour and chairman accidentally sending pictures of their todger isn’t!

11.) 29 Jan 2019 17:28:45
Maybe it was Harvey he sent it to?

12.) 29 Jan 2019 17:39:18
He would have turned round for the piccy to Harvey 😉.

13.) 29 Jan 2019 18:47:20
What a balls up, count himself very lucky he wasn’t wearing binoculars at the time! Still think Harvey will go on him though.

25 Jan 2019 21:18:51
Good luck to Will Huffer, months loan to Barney, national league. Could even be involved in an FA Cup tie on Monday. Good experience for him. Imagine that means Miazak plays for the under 23s. Again good run out for him. Unless the plan is for Bailey to play at under 23s for game time.

Spanishleeds

1.) 25 Jan 2019 22:36:48
Would he be cup tied?
Not sure if he was on the bench for us and if that would even matter. Anyone know?

2.) 26 Jan 2019 09:46:18
There was an FA Cup specific rule that said that you weren’t cup tied if you were on the bench and didn’t appear. I’m assuming that’s still in place anyone know?

3.) 26 Jan 2019 11:41:28
Probably a clause saying unless it's Leeds then even the tea lady counts.

4.) 27 Jan 2019 01:32:13
The Barnet manager (only Tony Currie's nephew) reckons the England coaches think highly of him :) another one for the future.

5.) 27 Jan 2019 07:51:01
I like Huffer, he talks and shouts a lot, whoever is in front of him. Think he could grow into a very good keeper.

6.) 27 Jan 2019 13:37:41
Sounds like my missus. Talking and shouting I mean.

7.) 28 Jan 2019 01:19:19
Is she not a keeper then Corky? Best for you she doesn't read this :)

8.) 28 Jan 2019 20:29:29
Said over a year ago future England player.

17 Jan 2019 11:18:50
Welcome Kiko! For me this is a world class appointment. Obviously a skilful player capable of the Bielsa way but more than that, coming from immersion in one of the worlds greatest clubs. It's a classy appointment that brings real strength and confidence to the GK group. This could be a massive benefit to us until the season end but also into the future. Well done all involved!

And to Bailey, thank you for everything you have done this year. Take up the challenge and use this as a motivation to up your game and learn with him. if you keep your place because you show you are better than him, then good for you!

Marcelo said any appointment has to be an improvement on what we have, Kiko clearly is.

Spanishleeds

1.) 17 Jan 2019 11:36:44
Good to have some positive news. Welcome aboard Kiko!

2.) 17 Jan 2019 15:10:23
We used to sarcastically remark that an Orta signing was "One for the future" meaning they were of no use now and we could just hope that they may come good some time in the never never. Now we can remark that they are "One for the future" meaning that we can use them now but they will still be up to the mark once we achieve promotion.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 15:41:21
I agree Kiwi. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more reaction to this appointment. To me it really is a very positive signing. Without being unkind, the defense will now have someone with experience that they can look up to. This guy has mixed it at the highest levels. Ok bench or third more recently, but still involved in the training sessions and training and learning with two of the best in the world.

It will raise Baileys game, like Hernadez with Clarke and Bailey will also be able to help Kiko with Championship experience.

Are people happy with this as a sign of investment in one player? Not asking about the whole window but just this one addition?

4.) 17 Jan 2019 17:07:40
To be honest, Spanish, I think, even if we get no more through the door (which I'm hoping isn't the case) , Kiko plugs the biggest gap which has been most apparent so far this season. BPF has been excellent for his years and given we're the team with a target on our backs, however, Kiko will be the loudest voice in that box and command our back line. Bailey will kick on in coming years, I have no doubt about that.

Would love to see a winger or two, throughly underwhelmed by Harrison, but loads of potential in the kids coming through and if the past week has convinced me of anything, it's that I have 100% faith in Bielsa and his plans!

ALAW MOT!

5.) 17 Jan 2019 17:29:42
Agree behave, and have a bit of faith in Harrison, looked better over the last few weeks. Honestly think JC is giving a bit of a encouragement to the other wide men. You don’t only learn from those around you who are older. He is showing the way in the wing and perhaps encouraging the others to drop their shoulder a bit and give it a go.

6.) 17 Jan 2019 17:32:06
KC welcome to the sunshine band we will march on together.

7.) 17 Jan 2019 19:32:04
You’re right Spanish, it’s a huge signing, and rather than BPF being disappointed, he should look at it as a great opportunity to develop with someone who has been coached by, and alongside some of the best in the world. He and Huffer should both move forward in leaps and bounds over the next couple of years!

8.) 17 Jan 2019 21:55:54
I see what you did there Boston! 👏🏻.

14 Jan 2019 17:08:28
Very good under 23 performance today!

Brown just about lasted the 90, clearly tired in the last 15 but showed some classy touches and good finishes.

I mentioned the need to get 2 of Aapo, Hugo and Pascal playing together regularly. Well today the played all three with Pascal, left back ish and for the first half Pearce on the left wing.

Aapo has a great game solid in defense and pinging some great passes forward.

In the second half Robbie Gotts replaced Shackleton in midfield and Davis replaced Pearce. Those two changes made a real difference. Gotts, a real dynamo, great going forward. David more effective than Pearce.

KP played a full game, calm and assured and Jordan Stevens had one of the best games I've seen from him

Kun played up front and had a few good opportunities.

2-0 and particularly in the second half we should have had a fair few more as the post was hit a few times.

Brown looking better and getting close to being able to come off the bench, but I think he will have another 90 mins next week at least.

You can see the confidence that Aapo, Gotts and Davis have got from their time with the first team.

I turned round during the game and Pablo, Alioski and Beradi were stood right behind me. Lots of the first team drifted about watching the game at various times.

As it stands tonight Leeds too at Chanpionship, under 23 and under 18 level! Sweet!

Spanishleeds

1.) 14 Jan 2019 17:14:28
I do like Gotts

Fair play to for first team players going to watch future and present team mates. That’s class

That’s the current ethos going through this club and a massive reason for why we will succeed.

2.) 14 Jan 2019 18:43:34
Love your reports on the under 23 games Spanish. Thanks for these and please keep them coming. I'm either getting old or dead lazy because I'm finding the trip to see these myself a bit burdensome. But I really do enjoy getting the inside juice on how the players are going.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 19:09:24
Did they instantly recognise you and say "hello Spainish, we like your reports"?

4.) 14 Jan 2019 19:26:58
Kiwi, I enjoy the games. It’s interesting apart from the game, who you see and what you hear in the chat going on around.

Next Monday it’s the Premier league Cup against Southampton, tough game and it’s been moved to Tadcaster Albion. 7pm kick off, £3 entry, worth it! Possibly get to see Brown again and one or two of the other returners in addition to a whole bunch of great regulars.

5.) 14 Jan 2019 19:27:19
Thanks Spanish for the match/ player report. All your posts are considered and sensible. I can always tell they are your posts before seeing the name at the bottom. Great to find out about the youngsters/ returnees. Keep them coming mot.

6.) 14 Jan 2019 23:29:39
Tewit, it took me a few seconds to register who they were! I would have liked to practice my Spanish with Pablo, but the words didn’t come out! At the Barnsley game, I did manage to have a brief conversation with Carlos in Spanish before the game started! I don’t think he was expecting it!

Down south, Thanks, I’d encourage anyone to get to the games if you can. You get a really interesting perspective on the club and you are so much closer to the action. And to be honest now, the quality of the teams we are putting out and the football were playing is great.

7.) 15 Jan 2019 10:06:27
Spanish. Think we all love your reports, long may you keep posting them.

Two thoughts. 1.Do you fancy being Marcelo's new interpreter? I have heard some people think that he does not get the nuances of what Marcelo really says, particularly in the "Spygate" interview. Do you agree.

2. You say at the U23's games, "who you see and what you hear in the chat going on around" is interesting. Wouldn't that interest "spys" from another club? Actually your not a "spy" from another club are you?

8.) 15 Jan 2019 10:09:42
Love reading your reviews on U23's Spanish, think it was yourself who mentioned Clarke some time ago if so you have a good eye.

Enjoy the international break guys! Our team has done us proud, our fans have done us proud! With our limited numbers, we will benefit from the break as much or more than anyone. Plus, time for our fantastic coaching team to have an impact and Bielsa to spend his time on the 8 teams left. Who knows what is going to happen, but I love this year and what we've done and the memories will stay with me forever. 37,000 fans at Elland Road is the closest I come to religion and win or lose it's always a really emotional experience for me and one I am thankful that I can enjoy! Born in Yorkshire, some of my happiest experiences and most important family lived and died a bus ride away. Means a lot to me and every trip to Elland Road feels like a pilgrimage!

I'm off to Spain to recharge my batteries and calm down a bit! Stay safe everyone and Alf, Al and Bermo and others, if you're up for the Millwall game, let's have a time and place for a Peacock pint!

Spanishleeds

1.) 17 Mar 2019 12:14:34
Brilliant post spanish and well said. Regardless of wether we go up or not my joy has been restored. Thank you for the grill u23s updates and have a well deserved rest. I miss that elland road roar more than anyth8ng. MOT.

Thanks Gray, i'm happy to admit I shed a tear or two sometimes when we’re singing marching on together before the game starts! i'm sure I’m not alone. I go in the cafe across the road from the ground and the peacock and see Dads and grandads going with sons, daughters grand daughters. For some it’s a irregular visit for others it’s a pre match routine they’ve been doing for years and the memories are forever! I’m sure we’ve all been through a lot of ups and downs! I love it! On Saturday I stood watching the last of our players leaving the pitch being serenaded by the blades fans singing “ Leeds are falling apart again”! Let them have their moment! Saturday confirmed to me that the two teams that should go up automatically are us and Norwich!

3.) 17 Mar 2019 14:32:59
Enjoy your break Spanish. Love your posts. Just wish I was closer to enjoy a pint in the Peacock but rest assured I’m enjoying this season as much from the south coast!

4.) 17 Mar 2019 16:24:34
I never "enjoy" international breaks but this time it appears to have come at an opportune time for us. Allowing Pontus to be treated, Roofe to recover and MB to get them firing again.

16 Mar 2019 21:30:19
Evening folks! After a horrible day, I've had a horrible drive from Elland Road to Gatwick. Haven't seen all the posts so apologies if repeating some. A really nasty day and not easy to play good quality football on that pitch. Lots of water and it wasn't easy to judge the passes. We still tried to play, on the whole they didn't!

In the first half, I spent a lot of time wondering how the hell their coach has managed to get them to the top two. Dreadful approach to football. If that gets you to the Premier leAgue then good luck.

We played some good football in the first half, had chances missed them. But we lost 0-1, finished on 10 men including a one legged makeshift goalie! And at least I can say, I was there when Pontus played centre back, centre Forward and Goalkeeper in the same game!

I think it's a good time for a break, good rest, regroup and start again, with Roofe almost back. And at least it looks like Man Utd are being beaten!

Spanish. ? Where are you heading to? Are our reports on 23s finished. For the season? Are you scouting in Valencia? Let me know chum. As Iv a place in quesada and can meet up if you want at Easter as I’m out for a month. 👍⚽️👍😉⚽️.

2.) 17 Mar 2019 09:41:25
Back to the Valencian Coast between Gandia and Dénia. Need a break from the weather and the stress! The plan is to fly back for the Millwall game and stay for the April games.

You’re in Andalucía? I spent some time around Nerja. I like Andalucía!

3.) 17 Mar 2019 09:54:27
It’s a carefully timed trip, missing one under 23 away game at Colchester! But I’ll be watching on the app. Hopefully back for Millwall. Let’s exchange contact details!

15 Mar 2019 09:48:07
Anyone know what's happening with Aaapo? He has not featured in the last few under 23 squads but not making the first team bench. Is he travelling with the first team in case?

His height might be useful against the blades as an option.

On another note really pleased to see Pascal Struick getting plaudits for his performances with the under 23s. He is a player who was injured at the start of the year, but has come in leaps and bounds as he has had game time. Big lad, scores goals from set pieces and is starting to bring the ball out with more and more confidence.

1.) 15 Mar 2019 10:12:48
I’m excited with all the talent we seem to have.
If we don’t go up somehow this year and manage to keep biesla. I think we will walk it next year.
It’s a shame more U23s don’t get there chance but settled team is best this time of year.
But with Halme. Shacks. Clarke. Borgiz. To come.
The future is white boys.

2.) 15 Mar 2019 10:44:35
very exciting times, hats off to orta who i think has been a part of this, that said we have always had a great youth set up. My Mrs mate's lad is 14 and just signed for us. Arsenal wanted him as well but he felt leeds was the better place (and his family are arsenal fans) so fingers crossed for the lad.

3.) 15 Mar 2019 11:31:20
I agree Berms. I was slating Orta months back and criticising Radz for keeping him. It all makes sense now.

4.) 15 Mar 2019 12:29:50
We were all slating Orta mate. Big time.
But he did what he was paid to do and bought some great players for the future. And a few duds. But nobody is perfect.

5.) 15 Mar 2019 18:05:06
We have always had a good youth setup, until Massimo ran it down somewhat, Orta's remit was to build it up again, and he's done a superb job of it 🙂🙂.

13 Mar 2019 10:22:50
Everyone, Pontus included, needs to keep this game in perspective. Important it may be but still 8 games left after that with 24 points to play for. Temptation to think It's the play off final when it isn't. Win in, dangers of complacency, lose it dangers of despondency. Draw might be the way to keep the perspective and the slight edge, but we don't play for draws.

Not likely that all three teams at the top will win 8 in a row so still likely that it will be settled outside of this game.

Other point to keep in mind is that the play offs isn't relegation. It's still an opportunity to get promoted and we would have gladly taken it at the start of the season, and if it happens everyone still needs to believe. Its as good as or better than the predictions of a lot of people on this site!

In short, some really important coaching and man management coming up before, during and after this game.

Spanishleeds

1.) 13 Mar 2019 11:38:54
And i wish the Blunts the best of luck in the play offs, it would be nice to have another Yorkshire team in Premiership.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 11:56:59
Bige LMAO. Doubt you'll get to enjoy the prospect though once you've devoured my shorts. For more reasons than one, you should be praying for hefty Leeds United victory on Saturday.

3.) 13 Mar 2019 12:03:49
Don't need a hefty win, just a win will be sufficient, BRING ON THE CHAMPIONS.

4.) 13 Mar 2019 12:11:16
George already resigned to making your shorts into curries and stir fries. Think the top three are sorted now. If Hull beat Norwich then Blunts could be going up with us, who knows, still a lot to play for.

5.) 14 Mar 2019 02:29:56
Bige And unfortunately for you I'm a 2XL so there'll be plenty stir fry to go round. Perhaps you will turn into a video which will go viral?

13 Mar 2019 08:22:30
Normally I'm really pleased when Leeds players get called up for International squads, but I don't feel very normal at the moment! Glad Spain doesn't need Hernadez but wouldn't mind a few of the others sitting out these games and Paddy O Bamford questioning his Irish heritage for a few more weeks. I don't know about the players but I need a break!

Spanishleeds

1.) 13 Mar 2019 10:13:31
Don t want to be negative after last night's result, but how does Roberts get a call up, and the pundits were saying what a brilliant game he was having last night, I think I'm missing something! He's had one excellent game via his old employers. Having watched the 23s i'd give Kun or Bogusz ago in his place.
I'm just worried against blunts on Saturday he'll cost us. Hope I'm wrong.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 10:19:04
Yes its nice to have international players in your squad but when they have to play, especially at this end of season. its just another worry i can live without.

3.) 13 Mar 2019 10:36:54
I don’t think any of the players, apart from Pablo, hit the heady heights and there were a few passes and moves that didn’t come off. The danger always is that you see a 3-0 win as a great performance and a 0-1 loss against QPR as a crap one. Pablo makes an enormous difference, if his magic comes off, he creates or scores, if it doesn’t we find it harder. Sheffield will be at him from the start on Saturday, he should wear American football style protection on his legs, because they will get some attention! Referee needs to be alert and strict at the beginning of the game.

The position Roberts plays means that his errors stand out, and when you lose the ball in that position it can look awful and cause real problems, the same with Saiz. I thought he had an ok game.

I like Kun and Bogusz, but Bielsa picking them to play in that position before the end of the season! Just not in his DNA.

4.) 13 Mar 2019 10:50:45
Is Bambam not involved till June?

5.) 13 Mar 2019 11:29:21
Spot on Spanish. I too would be sorely tempted to play Bogurz or Kun or even McCalmont. I cannot see them as being a drop down from Roberts but as you say It's just not the Bielsa way.

6.) 13 Mar 2019 11:38:42
Al is that about Ireland, if so great news! Bamford looked a little tired towards the end of the game! I did think he had a good game for his movement and effort but slightly amusing that his most effective contribution was when he stepped over the ball rather than when he actually tried to hit it goal bound himself! But it was a stunningly beautiful step over!

7.) 13 Mar 2019 11:59:56
roberts was not amazing but great energy and pace, always driving forward always happy and availible to take the ball. I think he is very good player.

8.) 13 Mar 2019 17:28:58
I'm sure that I read somewhere that his first meeting with the Ireland squad is sometime in June Spanish. And, although I'm pleased that super duper Cooper hasn't been called up for Scotland, I don't understand the thinking behind it from the Scottish manager, I mean, Mulgrew or Cooper? no contest really 🙂.

Mezzer, a match for cool heads and that’s not going to be easy. Fans need to be fervent and patient as well. Sheffield will want to restrict and frustrate us. Their game against Brentford showed how good they can be defensively and still be dangerous on the break. Be interesting to see how Sheffield play it, do they settle for a point and hope to make up the gap in the other games or do they go for the three. A draw would seem to be less of a problem for us than them. Big Psychological advantage to go into the break in the top two positions.

Harrison goes back, Alioski isn’t necessarily best as a winger, Hernandez isn’t necessarily best as a winger and next year might benefit from rotation even more, Dallas more a squad player, Clarke should be a regular next year but depending on the league! Think we could cope with a couple!

Whiteman is right in that the team that sees the play offs as a real opportunity is the team that is likely to have a better chance. We will have proved that on our day we can beat anyone, it’s the job of the coaching team and then fans to make it possible on those three potential days! If it comes to it, we can do it.
