Really looking forward to the West Brom game. Biggest test so far for us, for me. They have gone through a tough patch but that coincided with injuries and the press are saying that, Gayle, Gibbs and Barry will be back for Saturday. They have the style and players to really come at us. Given the Wigan win, not a disaster if we don't get three points but it really would be a statement. Could be a great game to watch.

Another set of Championship results that shows how tough it is and that it's not just us that have bad nights! Sheffield draw with Stoke, Middlesbrough 19 shots but 0-0 at home against Rotherham and Wigan lose at Millwall .

After all this doom and gloom a good win against Ipswich and a derby draw at WBA and we could be sat back on top of the division again!

Phew it's going to be a stressful year!

Look how well Norwich have gone since we beat them

It’s a mad, bad league

Just got to keep going every game and see where you end up.

2.) 25 Oct 2018 09:11:35
Wood agreed mate also look a DC going strong as well, it’s going to be a long season, who knows we have to keep praying,

Really looking forward to the Brentford game. Interested to see how the game plays out from a actical point of view. Both teams normally dominate possession, so something has to give. Both teams usually score. Brentford usually concede at least a goal, especially away and they got beat 1-3 at Derby which could be a pointer.

We need to have our scoring boots on and have a safe first 20 mins. We don't want to be giving this team a 2 goal start. 2-1 to us, I hope!

Shaunessy got a full game for the Irish under 21s yesterday which is good news. Against Preston definitely looked rusty. Looks like he played at the back as well.

Liam Kitching and Paudi also had good games again out on loan. Paudi scored and Harrogate are top of their leaue with Kitching playing every game and two goals for him so far. Know its lower leagues but still experience.

Not sure if I'm the only one but getting a bit fed up with some of Pontus's comments to journalists. I don't really care what happened in the summer regarding a transfer with him, if the club was prepared to sell him for a price, I'm sure that happens with lots of players. I'm sure in the past, pontus himself was sniffing around a possible premiership move. He needs to focus on being a regular in the team again and contributing to the great performances. Perhaps he's miffed he is no longer first pick in the defence, but get your head down lad and contribute to getting the team and yourself into the premiership.

1.) 05 Sep 2018 18:44:26
Agree spanish he is fast going from hero to zero, not done his reputation a great deal of good during the last season or so.

2.) 05 Sep 2018 19:32:49
Disagree Spanish. Pontius telling us the truth were as Angus kinnear lied and and told us they rejectected the offer for him. Why?

3.) 05 Sep 2018 20:11:35
Just not sure Martyn if you ever get to find out what really happens in the murky world of transfers with agents wheeling and dealing. Likewise we never really know how much players try and agitates moves. Just becomes a distraction. Glad he didn’t go and hope he gets his head down and makes himself a regular again.

4.) 05 Sep 2018 20:55:22
Good player he is I've never really trusted the man.
He’s always banged on about how much he loves Leeds but I reckon he’d be gone in a shot if offered higher level football and pay rise. Then again I might be wrong?

5.) 06 Sep 2018 00:27:16
He was offered a higher level of football and a big pay rise in Russian top league cork and said no. If he was lying about turning the offer down kinnear and the board would be jumping up and down to clear their names. It's the board I don't trust on this one I think Pontus has done nothing wrong except expose the board for lying to us.

6.) 06 Sep 2018 12:16:22
Fair enough Martyn! Not sure I’d want to go to Russia! Perhaps he feels a bit miffed about how he was treated. Not sure he fits in 100% with Bielsa, but let’s hope that it’s just a bit of response to whatever happened during the summer. If he is at full form, cooper and Beradi playing well, that eases our worries at centre back!

7.) 08 Sep 2018 08:58:01
Martyn you had a right pop off me for calling out on radz and co telling us lies.

8.) 08 Sep 2018 08:58:39
Big bucks in Russia.

Fulham news interesting! The manager who takes you up to the premiership not always the right one to keep you up. Perhaps some of these clubs should make ruthless decisions after promotion rather than give them the summer and the sack soon after! I'm assuming the previous boss had some input to 100 million summer spending. I wonder what Ranieri makes of these players and what promises he has for Jan. Not sure Ranieri is the safe pair of hands you want to deliver survival?

Spanishleeds

1.) 14 Nov 2018 12:41:30
You got to give the manager that gets u promoted a chance. It would be silly and demoralising to the players to just sack him.
And whose to say new manager will not be worse.

2.) 14 Nov 2018 16:50:14
Watford binned their manager following promotion, and sack them on a regular basis, doesn't seem to do them any harm.

13 Nov 2018 09:56:21
3 defeats this year to date, one in each of our three strips! let's not release enough strip!

1.) 13 Nov 2018 11:52:09
Statto alert ;)

2.) 13 Nov 2018 12:32:03
Spaniard Our recent performances could see us stripped of the title. However, strange as it may seem I now trust Orta to make the additions needed in January for a promotion charge.

3.) 13 Nov 2018 12:50:50
Georgie, Can you be stripped of something you haven’t got!

I do think the desire to make additions will be there but finding the right people at the right price that suit Bielsa might not be that easy.

If I could only have 1 and funds are limited, I would splash the cash on the best goal scorer available. We have the possession, we create the opportunities, but don’t put them away enough.

If I can have 2, a fast winger who can beat people, cross the ball accurately whilst staying onside.

If I can have 3, a tall, well built, agile, centre back.

With talent and skill in those three positions, the rest are good enough for me for this season.

Buy my first choice and we will def be in the playoffs. Buy two and we make the top two and buy three and we make it as champions. Easy!

All we need now guys are some names!

I’ve sent my letter off to Santa but don’t feel happy relying on someone dressed in red!

4.) 13 Nov 2018 12:59:57
1 and 3 for me Spanish.
Izzy on his way for more assists.
And if we improve our strike ration we should score about 6 a game with the amount of chances we make.

5.) 13 Nov 2018 13:44:51
We still have a lump of the 20 million promised at the start of the season.

6.) 13 Nov 2018 16:35:35
I think 20 million would be a good budget for three quality players, 10 million striker, 5 million each on the winger and defender!

7.) 13 Nov 2018 18:18:03
I agree Wex, with the comings and goings for this season, a big chunk of that £20 million promised by Kinnear, should still be available.

8.) 14 Nov 2018 16:54:26
Realistically if we end up signing anyone they should be PL class, no good getting a "tried and tested" Championship player if he won't get a game next season.

9.) 14 Nov 2018 19:28:41
Correct AL, quality not quantity required.

12 Nov 2018 16:34:45
I think some of you posters who are writing us off unless the cheque book comes out seem to have a strangely benevolent attitude to Bielsa. He took the job after studying all last years games, he had a chance to comment and shape the squad during the summer. He has gone out of his way to make it clear that he doesn't think we need big changes in Jan.

It's easy for you to blame the players for not being good enough, the Chairman for not spending enough money and Orta for not buying the right players. But sooner or later you have to turn your guns in Bielsa. He has not got the record of someone who will sit idly by when he doesn't get what he wants. Although he comes with the reputation of a football genius, he hasn't won anything in club football and he also comes with a reputation as stubborn and resistant to change.

For the record, I'm happy with him and what he and the club are doing . For me it's a 2/3 year plan and not just about this year . When we go up, I'd like us to be able to stay up for a few years and the squad needs to be right for that to happen. Spending money doesn't guarantee success overnight, look at Fulham, over 100 million spent this summer alone and counterbalance that with Leicester's achievement.

Build in the right direction, make this year better than last year, create a style of football that people love and get the right players that add to the team. As I've said before, I'm loving it!

And the dog botherers too spanish.

2.) 12 Nov 2018 17:54:34
i agree and have been slated for questioning MB, he is a good manager but he is wrong about being able to go up with a small sqaud he underesitmated the challenge of this league and injires cost us. He didn't account for losing two right backs and now puts dallas above coyle and pearce. if he thinks dallas is good enough he didn't watch leeds enough over past few years or is an idiot.

I do think we are going right way and for me that is enoguh but at no point have i thought we will go up, suqad too small and spine too weak.

3.) 12 Nov 2018 20:18:02
I agree Spanish, slowly slowly catchee monkey. We MUST give the man time. I do not think our squad is too small (altho one or two Quality additions would not be frowned upon) I do however think that he has been struck with the Managers Disease - "favoritism". His test now is, how long will he persevere when a choice is, quite clearly, not working. How long will he keep trying to fit square pegs into round holes?

4.) 13 Nov 2018 16:25:03
If we don’t give a man like Bielsa the time to deliver, then we can just forget about going up. definitely need a bigger squad, with more strength in depth, but that doesn’t happen overnight. That said, I don’t think Radz will even consider chopping Bub, even if we go on a big losing streak.

11 Nov 2018 01:26:29
Well, I posted before the game that I thought we would need 3 goals to win, just add 2 more on!

All credit to West Brom and their manager for their tactics and execution. The good thing is, I don't think there are many other teams in the division who have the players with the size and skill to do that to us again!

We have now had the heavy defeat that most of the challengers apart from Middlesbrough have had. The key now is how Bielsa and the players react with two perfectly winnable home games coming up. Good that Bielsa and his team have some quality thinking time coming up.

new Face on the bench, Leif Davis, left back we bought from Morecambe who has also been playing centre back. Takes Pearce's place on the bench. Another hard worker who will give his all of he gets the chance.

If there is a good offer for him early in Jan, not the end of the world depending how the money is used and if Bamford is available. Wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I thought they were 4-1 better, more quality and a better game plan. But not sure how many other teams on the league can do that to us. We could have minimized the defeat but just not the Bielsa way.

If we get up this year, it’s going to be about maximizing the talent we have through teamwork, motivation and clever use of the squad. We will get 1/ 2 new players in Jan, if the right ones are available, if not it will be this squad and the Jan returners.

If we do get up or even if we don’t it’s the summer window that is going to determine our future for the next few years, together with how many of the under 23s can really make it. You don’t turn last years squad into one that can survive in the premiership

I hope that Bielsa stays with the project, it’s exciting and he is genuinely learning about what works and what doesn’t in English championship football.

At the end of the year, it won’t be the West Brom away defeat that stops us getting promoted it’ll be the Birmingham, Blackburn type defeats and not finding a way to turn draws into a 1 goal win.
