Spanish media and Daily Express linking us with Andres Guardado from Betis. Second in La Liga assists table with 6 and still the current Mexico captain. Would be an incredible signing if we pull it off, tequila shots at the ready to celebrate.

1.) 09 Dec 2017 23:57:56
guadardo would be a good buy because of his assists. He seems to be the type of player who can make other players play. The one big caveat is given his age, if we get two good years out of him, will Radrizzani accept getting zero resale value. Having said that, if he helps get us to the Premier League, then the answer is a definite yes.

Wondering if this 'big surprise' from Asia will be one of the players in the Chinese Super League on crazy money. Jackson Martinez, Carlos Tevez, Oscar, Alex Texeira etc? 😅 Although it will probably be Godzilla or a Kim Jung-On takeover.

1.) 05 Sep 2017 16:36:35
Maybe our additional defender?

2.) 06 Sep 2017 00:51:30
Is Harpal Singh making his long awaited return?

3.) 06 Sep 2017 09:45:54
Shunta Nakamura
Takefusa Kubo
Probably going to be a talented Japanese kid for the under 23s

4.) 06 Sep 2017 13:50:21
and the inevitable down-vote from our resident Doncaster Rovers lurker. Might want to check into Toshiya Fujita, what with him being our chief scout in Asia, being Japanese and stating Orta has briefed him to identify young Japanese talent. It won't be a first-team player. Might be about to announce a tie-up with a Japanese feed club. Might be signing a Japanese kid for the under-23s. Won't be anyone for the first team.

5.) 06 Sep 2017 16:19:06
Good luck finding a song for those 2 citywhite

6.) 06 Sep 2017 18:04:20
City, an under 23 player wouldn't get a work permit though. Has to be a full international or an EU player.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 19:11:08
nope. 5 points is enough, on appeal with the FA's current scoring system. Just has to have played in equivalent champions league type competition for his current club. National team appearances scores more points and isn't contested.

8.) 06 Sep 2017 20:51:21
They can also make allowances if the player is considered of wonderkid potential, rules are a more negotiable at tribunal for any player under 20 supposedly.

9.) 07 Sep 2017 12:45:55
It could be ex Swansea player Chico Flores

22 Aug 2017 22:15:07
Burnley, Saiz will cost you at least £50m 😜

10 Aug 2017 22:24:28
Newport away, but it's actually at Elland Road! I wonder how much allocation they'll give us? 😅

07 Aug 2017 20:58:06
Phillips saying TC told him to get forward more, play with freedom and score more goals. Just shows what happens when we don't have a negative manager holding players back.

1.) 08 Aug 2017 00:17:17
Dont get excited too soon SG, Philips has put together a run of good games before, then he drops off badly (much like Mowatt before him) , hoping TC has truly given him a second lease on life but i'm giving it a few games first.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 08:29:26
It was more a dig at a negative manager than getting over excited by KP to be honest!

3.) 08 Aug 2017 12:40:29
Kal has always been an attack minded player, scoring goals at will for years through the juniors. With the right coach, and correct tactics, he's 10 to 15 a season. The boy has a right shoe on him.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 15:56:15
SG, think your bang on the money, even are defence passed the ball back when needed but didn't spend five minutes doing so and then play themselves into trouble . In Philips think he needs managing time wise but I thought that's why we brought a number of attacking m/f.

I also noticed how the gk kept coming forward a bit like man city, however he needs to watch that someone don't chip in a goal . Would like to have seen a couple more of the new players on Sunday but with the injuries it wasn't to be .

5.) 08 Aug 2017 17:40:08
Phillips is a lot better than Mowatt in both talent and attitude. Loves to get around box and a good strike on him. He is a confidence player and will only get better. Monk held him back last season and he took a lot of flak for it, will have learnt from that.

Shame we've got the blunts on Friday, as I'd like to see us stick with the same team and have a real go at Leicester. But I'm expecting numerous changes, just hope we can win! Wouldn't mind seeing young Kun on the bench as well.

1.) 23 Oct 2017 15:30:57
Leicester may be a bridge too far for us at the moment but they should at least come at us rather than just trying to shut us down so maybe we will do alright. Start with a strong side and then make subs if we go two down?

2.) 23 Oct 2017 16:06:11
Kun not played for a couple of games so guess he is injured. Just wondering on what basis does everyone seem to want him in the team, done nothing yet.

3.) 23 Oct 2017 17:44:25
'cause he sounds exciting and some newspaper rated him highly a while back. We're impatient.

4.) 23 Oct 2017 21:21:51
He joined La Masia at the age of 5. You must have some talent to do that and Barca's academy is much better than ours, let's be honest.

5.) 24 Oct 2017 13:01:58
BIGE watches the young uns plenty of times, so I'll take his word for it. MM

01 Oct 2017 14:56:31
Fans moaning about Felix not being confident, then slate him on Twitter and sarcastically cheer when he catches the ball. Can you tell me how that improves things? Best fans in the world, my butt. Some fans couldn't wait for us to lose a few so they could start slating players.

1.) 01 Oct 2017 15:25:12
SG90 we are the best fans in the world you need to remember that, it hurst when you lose and your manger don't change things to try and turn it round, there's a point in any games when you have to say what do we have to lose let's try this and that but when you look at your manager and he's kicking the grass as to say what do I do?, and the keeper is something to worry about because he been like from day one but was never tested until now some can see what others can't, it cause some to act in different was to release there frustration, like you have just done mate with your post. We All love Leeds

2.) 01 Oct 2017 15:33:03
Disagree with the sarcasm. He doesn't deserve that but he was/is poor and opens up a real weakness for opposition teams to exploit. I do really think it's time to start with Lonergan.

3.) 01 Oct 2017 15:34:34
You're right SG. we have some idiots fans, as well as the best in the world.

01 Oct 2017 14:22:01
I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt and put the last two performances down to tiredness. It's been 3 sat-tues-Sat in a row, other clubs were knocked out of the league cup. Yes it was Wendies best performance of the season, just like everyone when they play us. If they're so good, why are they below our crap team? I think some players have been far too casual in last couple of games (Ayling) in particular and perhaps need a push from other players. Anita dropped from Berardi has weakened our defence. That said, Lasogga gets the luck for 2-1 Hooper gets for 2-0, it's a completely different game. Once again, a poor free kick revs up the crowd and the team when we were dominating.

1.) 01 Oct 2017 14:39:45
Good for you. let's hope benefit of doubt counts?

2.) 01 Oct 2017 14:48:24
Ok Ausman. We're nailed on for relegation then. Why are so many amazing teams below us if we're so crap?

3.) 01 Oct 2017 15:19:45
Amazing teams u say?

4.) 01 Oct 2017 15:34:39
Which teams are guaranteed top 6 in your opinion then?

04 Sep 2017 20:15:41
Saiz and Alioski needed for England 😅

29 Aug 2017 22:16:28
Generally can't fathom how fans want to spend £20m on Gayle, who's had had one good season at Champ level in a strong Newcastle team, but don't want a loanee who was in the Germany squad 3 years ago.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 22:51:20
Not worth 20m but a good young prospect. Pacey and an eye for goal. Surprised Newcastle are letting him go and not helping him progress. They will probably want to buy him back in 3 years time.

2.) 29 Aug 2017 22:58:06
It's just a case of knowing what your getting isn't it, we are lucky because Radz got Orta who has looked outside the box and found some gems, I mean how much did Newcastle pay last season for average players? I bet it was a lot and yet look at what we have spent and up till now they have been superb, and if they carry on performing like they are what will Siaz and Alioski be worth next season? I think we would of happily let Cooper go for a free last season but what will he be worth the way he's playing and young Grot could be the next Drogba! I think our backroom guys have done a bloody good job! MOT

3.) 29 Aug 2017 22:59:06
Both good options

4.) 30 Aug 2017 06:28:12
With all these silly prices for strikers, I'm starting to think Chris Wood was sold on the cheap.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 07:53:41
He's 28, that's not young. No re-sale value either and he's not good enough for the PL, so if you go up you have to get rid.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 08:00:59
Exactly Mike. Newcastle can't afford players now as they spent so much on average Championship players. For £20m, you want someone who can get you into Europe.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, they sold a hell of a lot of players to make the money to buy those Championship players. Their sales totalled roughly 90m and buys 57m, so they should have had no issues. The problem is that Mike Ashley brought in one of his 'mates' in order to break all the promises he had made to Rafa without having to do so directly. Ashley makes a nice little earner from Newcastle, as well as having all that free advertising, he doesn't want that to end just because a manager wants to buy a few players to be competitive.}

7.) 30 Aug 2017 08:15:51
I think personally that spending that amount of money on a player like Gayle would be crazy for our club. Yes he scored goals last season but l can see Roofe also scoring as many now that he is being played in the correct position for him. Don't honestly know much about Lassoga but he has played at a higher level and with Hamburg paying a large proportion of his wage this season think AR and TC have played a blinder. Grot could be another star find, reminds me of the big Norwegian Villa use to have. Do we really need to get involved in this desperate drama of paying silly money for hyped up players. Trust in AR and his staff, hasn't done a bad job so far.

Misery is about being obsessed. Funny how last time we played Spuds in the cup, we beat them. I'm guessing that was your first Spuds game and you're still upset about it?

Weird how you know everyone of and everything about our players. Perhaps you should watch the film Misery, it seems to be you down to a t.

Well said Mezzer. I'd rather be Leeds than a plastic PL fan anyday. Where would Spuds be without our academy? We may be deluded and rubbish, bean/odea/swadlad/88, but at least I can say I've seen us in the Champions League semi finals, something Spuds will never achieve. Lol.

We just played Ipswich, who are also a physical team. Millwall and Cardiff will be different at home, as their fans won't travel and therefore it will be a different proposition. No point slating players, they have done well so far. Don't be surprised if Cardiff lose on Saturday, as is usually the case after playing us.

Unfortunately there's no middle ground for some of our fans, they're either the greatest player ever or not good enough. Leicester's team had Champions League players in it and cost over £100m. Thought had we a good go of it and we were missing most of our key players.

Every team plays the same 23 sides. Didn't Fulham lose to Burton and they're supposedly the best team in the league. Wendies lost to Birmingham who conceded 6 to Hull, who conceded 5 at Derby. It's an odd league. It's not as cut and dried as, "you can only beat the bottom teams".

Linesman was poor for both teams. We should've had a corner when Roofe was miles onside, also Hooper was miles offside for one chance but lino played him on. We will get luck in other games, so it evens itself out as they say. Just annoyed as Wendies will be giving it large now.

The type of mistakes we've made have been because of heavy legs. It's been a brutal month, 3/4 physical teams, 120 mins + penalties, 3 Tuesdays in a row. We just need a rest and we'll come good. Rather be fourth than in the relegation zone after our bad run. Teams around us like Bristol City and Sheffield United will have a bad run soon. It all events itself out.
