Worried about it when we didn't sign another senior CB but just when I started to believe TC had fixed him calamity Cooper returns at the worst possible time. At fault for goals 1 and 2 for me and then to escape a straight red only to go in like that? We didn't play our best but one man cost us the game, can't have a captain that looses all sense like he did tonight.

1.) 26 Sep 2017 23:21:18
It keeps creeping back into his game. I like nessy there as he listens to the Senior players around him and grafts but uses his brain and don't make eratic decisions

2.) 27 Sep 2017 00:21:30
Agree Martyn, Pennington will almost certainly start the next game but starting to wonder if Jansson Shaughnessy might well be our best pairing going forward unless we pick up someone out of the free market, he doesn't seem to panic or do anything stupid.

04 Sep 2017 22:22:44
Orta teasing 'We are near to signing a big surprise from Asia'. Now under the last few regimes I would have got all worked up and it would turn out that we where opening a Panda Express in the food court. Under current management however I feel like a kid at Christmas with the excitement. Player or sponsor? what do people think?

1.) 05 Sep 2017 10:45:15
Free agent for the U23 side I think. Or it's a new sponsor. Orrr, we have sold a player for 75m to a Chinese team

2.) 05 Sep 2017 12:00:12
Can we even sign players outside of the transfer window or would this only apply to free agents? MM

3.) 05 Sep 2017 12:18:14
Free curries for all west stand season ticket holders, fact

4.) 05 Sep 2017 12:42:48
Only free agents MM (Dont know if anyone follows the Chinese Lg and knows if any big name is recently out of contract? ) , that said we could "sign" someone in the sense of putting a deal in place for January rather than a player for straight away. A youngster could be right EG especially since we just hired a head of development, or whatever it was, for Asia. Maybe set to sign the next big player from Japan or some such. All that said I wouldn't mind a big fat sponsorship out of China, would be great to bring in all these players and still turn a decent profit for the season, get the club back on the financial footing it once had.

5.) 05 Sep 2017 13:43:54
Can't sign players till January but can agree to sign players. I think it'll be the 'next big thing' from China or Japan. As much as I would love a big sponsorship deal from the wealth of China it could also be a agreement with another club in Asia, like what we have with the second division Spanish team.

6.) 05 Sep 2017 14:07:45
Jackson Martinez is a free agent and was just playing in China 😅

7.) 05 Sep 2017 15:03:22
Is tevez a free agent?

8.) 05 Sep 2017 15:27:08
I would suspect a sponsorship deal. Hate it when clubs announce sponsorship deals as 'signings'.

Second bid of £16m put in for Wood from a different Prem team (unnamed) , also knocked back. I mean if we do accept £20m for him Sheff are looking to offload Rhodes. £7m-8m for him with £13m in change might not be the worst bit of business ever as much as I'd like him to stay.

1.) 12 Aug 2017 02:18:11
I'd 100% rather 16 mil change and Lasogga!

2.) 12 Aug 2017 04:22:48
No to rhodes.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 10:57:55
It's a no for Rhodes from me as well. If he isn't cutting it at Weds, then why would we expect him to do what we know Wood can do ! . He wouldn't get 20+ goals a season. If we do sell Wood for £18m, then I suggest we spend all of it on another sure fire goal scorer from somewhere, and not necessarily British as they are all over priced!

4.) 12 Aug 2017 11:04:43
Lasogga worries me a bit, he has averaged a goal every 3.35 games throughout his whole career, especially with his reported wage too! However his fifa 17 rating is alright ;) .

5.) 12 Aug 2017 12:02:30
That's good, Fifa never lie so he must be a good un

6.) 12 Aug 2017 13:43:13
Rhodes won't score 20 a season? He is one of the most consistent scorers at this level. hasn't worked out for him at Weds but he had been sat on a bench for 6 months at Middlesbrough. 19, 16, 37, 28, 25, 21, 16 are his goal tallies for the 7 seasons before, the ones with less than 20 goals he missed a handful of games. If we can get him for less that £10m when teams are paying £15m for 15 goal a season players its a no brainer.

7.) 12 Aug 2017 14:15:23
Rhodes for 2mil. Worth a gamble

8.) 12 Aug 2017 19:39:46
yes to Rhodes but also keep Wood.

9.) 12 Aug 2017 22:07:02
No sale Woods is in for the long haul From now on, we are not a selling club unless it's fringe players

10.) 12 Aug 2017 23:02:48
Every club apart from the 2 clubs wrong side of Pennines, those 2 minnow clubs from Spain and PSG who appear to have more money than the richest man in the world are selling clubs. Even if you sell at right price you're a selling club.

11.) 12 Aug 2017 23:08:34
Where we're going, we don't need Rhodes 😄

31 Jul 2017 20:05:17
Loan bid put in for Juve CB Quasim Bouy (24) supposedly.

1.) 31 Jul 2017 20:56:11
Hes a free agent. Supposed to be signing him on a free and loaning him out

2.) 31 Jul 2017 21:05:03
Signed on a free, and loaned to Spanish 2nd div for a year to develop.

3.) 01 Aug 2017 08:31:38
Small for a CB. At 5.11"

4.) 01 Aug 2017 11:12:38
Just been reading up on him, seems he's a midfielder. Was once expected to become one of Europe's best but lost his a way a bit. Leeds hope to help him get back the promise he showed as a youth at ajax by loaning him out for a season. Maybe with some hard work and good coaching he will be one for next season as he's 24 already.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 10:11:33
He is DF but can play CB. Talented player who has lost his way a bit. Hopefully we can straighten his head out.

27 Jul 2017 14:13:49
Story coming out of Ireland that we are chasing Marc Wilson (CB/LB) from Bournemouth. hasn't played an awful lot the last 2 seasons so available on the cheap (£1m quoted) . No mention if we would want him at LB or CB, has played a similar amount in both, but with 200 ish games in the top flight he could be a shrewd bit of business.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 23:31:59
Would make an adroit signing Gumster especially at that price. My only concern is contacting lowly placed PL clubs about their players may result in them enquiring about Wood.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 13:20:54
Your all being really silly now! I will put you all out of your misery. it's Finger Rita! Now stop all the funnies, it's getting tiresome. 😂😂

Just a thought, suggested this when we had the defender crisis last year, if we are getting over run in the middle and people want an extra forward on to take the pressure off Lassoga would it be worth trying a game as a 3-5-2? Thinking - Cooper (CB) , Jansson (CB) , Pennington (CB) , Dallas (LM) , O'Kane (CM) , Shaunessy (DM) , Philips (CM) , Ayling (RM) , Lassoga (ST) , Saiz (ST) . Dallas and Ayling both have the stamina to get back into a wing-back role if the Opposition pushes or forward into a Winger role if we are in control with Shaunessy (or Anita) giving the CM the bite its been lacking, only takes 1 sub to go back to our preferred shape if it doesn't work out too.

1.) 10 Oct 2017 16:24:55
Can't see much wrong with that lineup, but then neither can I find fault with any of the other permutations. Perhaps that's part of the problem. We have not gained the consistency which points to a first eleven. Non of us seem agreed on the first eleven (except for GK) and I think neither does anyone at Elland Road.

2.) 10 Oct 2017 16:30:56
TBH I think it's hard to drop the lights of Saiz, Hernandez, alioski and Roofe, but if u get them in there we have a winner.

3.) 10 Oct 2017 20:14:08
Actually think TC has started our best 11 (when fit) most games leodis but you have to pick the team for the game sometimes and the formation. For instance I would keep Alioski and Hernandez in for a 4-2-3-1 Delboy but Hernandez just doesn't fit into a 3-5-2 and I prefer Aylings physicality and work rate over Alioski in that setup.

4.) 11 Oct 2017 19:33:55
I think O'Kane should be given a rest, to let his cracked ribs heal. Bring Viera in for Saturday and see how he gets on

31 Aug 2017
New image uploaded to the
Leeds Player Sightings page entitled, Pawel Cibicki holding his Leeds top

1.) 31 Aug 2017 10:04:38
First one of the day, how many more? Lassogga should be next, but will there be any surprises?

2.) 31 Aug 2017 12:11:22
Lasogga should be done soon as long as we can sort the remaining paperwork. Would like to see another CB just in case the mistakes start to creep back into Coopers game but not essential.

30 Aug 2017 21:11:48
Leaked pics of Cibicki signing the contract and with a Leeds shirt doing the rounds, Guessing an official announcement tomorrow.

1.) 30 Aug 2017 21:32:22
Yep sure looks like he's signed! MOT

23 Aug 2017 13:32:57
Kun Temenuzhkov not to be upstaged by Roofe with a hat trick on his U23 debut.

1.) 23 Aug 2017 14:09:59
Beat me to it Gummie - soz bud i didn't see this. I hoped to see a bit of Kun last night but it was not to be.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 18:54:52
Hopefully the Kun T will be massive in years to come with a few more performances like last night. Seen the highlights, good penetration, excellent ball play with some superb dribbling

3.) 23 Aug 2017 20:33:17
what took you so long, put it on hours ago.

23 Aug 2017 13:15:29
Fun fact: after the cup matches last night we are the only unbeaten Championship team left.

1.) 23 Aug 2017 13:19:28
Great fact, I love it. MOT

2.) 23 Aug 2017 13:26:07
And soon maybe to be the only one unbeaten in championship matches?

3.) 23 Aug 2017 14:38:03
Interesting fact. Long may it continue.

4.) 23 Aug 2017 14:59:11
If we can make it through the Forrest game it very well might carry on for a while, couple of games against teams at the bottom end after that one.

5.) 23 Aug 2017 19:37:14
Might gummie, but don't get hit in the face when they throw in the towel! Also I can see bridcutt score the only goal of his career on Saturday

I saw interviews with Drogba and Crouch a few years back, both said they peaked late because rapid growth spurts took them from competent footballers to ungainly, gangling and not in control of their movement. Grot feels the same to me because he is so big physically. Long term project for me that we won't see the best of for 3 or 4 years. At the end of the day though he has attributes you can't teach, worth at least the effort and time to see if he can come good, just not as first team.

was a great Keeper but played 5 conceded 15 last season, his ship might not have sailed quite yet but I don't think its one we want to be on.

3rd choice with BPF going out on loan at a guess, could also be another one for development at Cultural though.

I liked Bridcutt, didn't do the pretty stuff but put in the dirty work when you needed it. Always felt, much like Bamba, that the captaincy left him trying to do too much and not focusing on playing his own game. For the fee we got I would have kept him.

With Martyn on this one Davey. Cooper started as 3rd choice anyway, only an injury to Pennington bumped him up, was really surprised he took the armband for this term. As for one bad match? nah mate, try 3 seasons of spotty form peppered with stupid mistakes.

Japan ranked just outside the world top 50, unless they get panned every game at the world cup they should easily move into it. As long as he plays most of those and friendlies during their prep matches he should hit criteria for a permit by the end of the tournament i think Alf.

Fair point KRAY (though the real life events of the film Moneyball would disagree, even if its a different sport) but the funny thing about stats is that bad players might have good ones for a game or two but they won't have good ones over half a season. Is he good enough for the Prem? maybe not but we won't get a Prem quality keeper until we get promoted anyway and certainly no one is selling one for affordable money with affordable wages in the Jan window. Wiedwald is good enough to get us out of this league this season, even with the mistakes. A new LB will save us a lot more goals than a new GK right now as most of our conceded are from attacks down that wing.

{Ed001's Note - I would look into the events around Moneyball more closely mate, it was not like the film shows at all. Lots of articles around that point out how the film neglected to mention half the players, the big star hitters etc.}

The Wiedwald bashing really needs to stop, stats wise only Ruddy at Wolves is ahead of him. He is currently 4th in clean sheets, 2nd in clean sheet percentage. We concede 0.9 and score 1.75 with him in the team (only Ruddy tops that with 0.8 and 1.9) 1.8 conceded, 1.2 scored without him. Yeah ok he has had a couple of clangers but so did Green last season and Kasper a few before that. We need a proper LB that's priority 1. After that a ST so Grot can go out on loan and we can deal with the ekuban injury thing plus a CB to add depth would be good.

Said after the Cardiff match that he got a lot of unjustified negativity, conceded 3 but not really at fault for any and everyone tore into him. The lack of a proper LB and a CB to partner Pontus is hurting us more than anything.
