I hope mr cellino stays. I agree with fredh. The guy saved our club. He backed rosler. he's eccentric impulsive and sometimes too quick to react to certain situations. Wish he could buy out the other 25% because he is used to been in total control. Its his money. If he can take leeds united forward I for one won't care how much profit he makes on his investment as he will deserve it. MOT.

Cellino has met with interested parties who want the club. Maybe these meeting have gone well and that's why he pulled the plug on LFU. Sounds like he want's out quickly.

2.) 05 Nov 2015 20:13:01
Sorry Hunters I could not disagree more! Whilst I cannot deny that he saved us and has put money in, for whose benefit do you think?
He is a businessman and for all his badge kissing he is an investor and looks for a return. An entreprenour will buy a company, cut where necessary, add where necessary and sell when it's right. Now maybe we want to be kind to MC and say that he made have had visions his statue outside Elland Road but his bubble has burst and now he cannot wait to get rid. If he stays I can only see more heartbreak on both sides.
The man is a ticking timebomb with so much legal/FA baggage that his future is untenable. No Mr Cellino a big thank you but a bigger goodbye.

Deda

I think the reason Cellino pulled out is he saw through Thwaites and his undesirable character traits. There is no doubt he would've been terrible for Leeds. The first thing Cellino should've done was buyout GFH even if it meant handing them 50m. We may have seen a better MC.

4.) 05 Nov 2015 21:54:50
George

Don't think Cellino ever had an intension of selling to them. He wanted other parties to get involved. Two people are interested and they won't take years to raise the funds.

5.) 05 Nov 2015 22:18:49
If they had the money he would have sold. He knew they did not and was just showing what a load of blowhards they are. Chanting for him out and for fans to take over, he gave them the chance and all Thwaites wanted to do was turn it into a fight with media backing, so glad he blew them out.

6.) 05 Nov 2015 23:08:03
Agree bige.

7.) 06 Nov 2015 10:55:56
I think Mr Cellinio does know what he is doing he is a very good businessman, probably waiting to see what the corrupt football league
decide what to do. I think who ever buys Leeds the football league will find something wrong, the guy didn't pay his VAT and most business people do the same thing. If he does sell the club it needs to be to someone who has the money a football knowledge.

I agree George. Things going on in background that we can only guess about. But on the face of it the team that now represents Leeds are a young honest bunch of lads who need our support. If only we could find another Bobby Collins/ Gordpn Strachan type of player to help these young lads along.

i think we have one in sol bamba. good honest player with experience and touch of class. best leeds captain in a long while

2.) 31 Aug 2015 12:47:20
Agree Hunters would be nice to have someone in midfield who could help the young lads out, Nolan would be ideal, but these lads are showing good character and learn by their mistakes. Can only get better.

3.) 31 Aug 2015 16:12:00
Hunters, regarding the BC/GS type that time has gone. Those players move to the MLS. Gerrard, Lampard. I think our midfield is fine and does not require additions. Defense requires a reinforcement. That Spurs player would have been ideal.

Regarding behind scenes stuff, I do believe Cellino is staging very initial talks/sounding out prospective buyers for his shareholding and there's a group in the know who are determined to lower the feelgood factor so the valuation is also lower. They post on here.

Leeds4alongtime. think your time is up if you aren't satisfied with our win at derby. Wood is not the finished article yet. He is still learning his trade. At least he is in positions to miss chances. Once he settles down he will score more. He needs backing not slating. The whole team and set up need our backing. Lift off is just round corner. I am proud to be a LEEDS FANATIC. I am proud of the team and management and Cellino/Pearson. They are building a team that is going places. BACK THEM. MOT.

Hunters, he has an agenda. There's some focus on Cellino relationship with GFH right now, stuff to do with the ground and the future.

2.) 31 Aug 2015 09:49:46
Gfh always going to be a problem. They can't invest their own money so any money they put in needs a return for investors. If cellino buys ground back without up front cash from gfh he needs to make sure they don't profit from his investment and future developments. Complicated but doable

I too have been a fan since 1964. My parents had the local paper delivered at that time. As an impressionable young lad just learning about football, I read the sports pages before going to school. The YP was a Leeds based paper and carried lots of articles on LUFC. I read every word written and as I did LUFC got into my bloodstream, where it has circulated my body ever since. People have called me mad. deluded. crazy because of my enthusiasm for LUFC. This is my club, whichever league we are in I will support through good and bad. I can't understand people being negative. what good does whingeing do. Give support then Mr Cellino will realise that we truly are a great club. with fantastic supporters. and we are worth investing more of his money in. Each new season is exciting, this year is even more so given all that has happened so far. AP could be the masterstroke as I don't think Mr Cellino will be with us all season due to his pending cases. With AP in charge we will stay on the rails. So LUFC please get excited about the season ahead, get that Leeds blood flowing. MOT.

Great post Woody67. We are moving in the right direction. Mr Cellino may not be perfect. May make mistakes but he has passion and drive. He is also a successful business man and wants to create a self financing structure not a white elephant that needs money chucking at it just to exist. Exciting times ahead.

Top man, thanks. As for the new season I for one am more excited than I have been for years as to what could be, with new players coming in and a Manager wanting to prove his worth we could be in for a flying start especially as we have started recruiting early.

I agree with you danum except I think he is a leeds fan now. He bought our club because of the fans and the tradition. he won't walk away from the fight but he needs our backing now. He is wounded by the FL but he will come back stronger. All his time he served in Italy was an apprenticeship to take on our club. He inherited a lot of dross and mismanagement. He has made hard and sometimes unpopular decisions to get the club on a more even keel. He took our club on when seemingly no-one else wanted it. Give him the chance to restore our club. Don't let the FL win by dividing us with infighting and bickering. Its a time of showing solidarity and support.

Agree with you tigerman. NR doing great job with the youth teams. We don't want to lose him. MC has to make the right appointment to harness the talent at the club. Think there will be plenty of interest for the job. Whp wouldn't want the opportunity of being a hero and leading the mighty Leeds back where they belong. Worst that can happen is the sack with a pay off! We all want the same thing. Leeds playing gpod football and back in PL. Keep the faith. MOT.

MC is an astute businessman with a passion for football. We should be thankful that passion is now channeled into LEEDS UTD. He sees the potential at our great club. When he leads us back to the top of the premiership it will be with firm foundations and level heads. He remembers the great team DR built and how revered around the world it was. I think this is his dream now, he has caught the LEEDS bug. We as fans have to get behind him and support what he is doing. Unity makes United. LEEDS UNITED.

I agree with you bigrab. Why is it that as soon as a player reaches hero status at Leeds they think they are bigger than the club itself. Hope all the new additions buckle down and play as a team.
