according to ssn, BMD met Massimo at the end of last week to discuss the future. Any news of how it went? SKY also says the the FL approval is now widely expected to be a approved. First time I have seen a news channel say this!

1.) Survivor/Jeff, you are ITW. so how about it?

2.) Survivor is as itk as my goldfish. I don't even have a goldfish. Why do people believe him his last post on the banter page doesn't even make sense. Waffle

3.) I think no news has to be good news (hopefully so anyway given the mounting debt).

4.) Yeah, that had to be one of the worst stories I ever read. It told you absolutely nothing.

except that they met last week.

Which we already knew!

I wonder if there is a get out clause in Cellino's contract for the 75% share purchase, that Leeds don't get religated. If they do the deals off, this might make GFH make a decision tomorrow

Could the delay with the takeover now be due to a combination of GHF and the International Investment Bank failing the FL FPPT? Eleonora Sports are contracted to buy 75% of the shares, but the remaining 25% stays with The International Investment Bank (IIB) 12%, GFH 10% and Noorruddin3%. The handling of LUFC finances since GFH took control has been a shambles, living had to mouth by a combination of loans from Bates and Enterprise, gate receipts and just not paying the bills or staff wages! If the takeover is approved, GHF and the International Investment Bank will each own 10% or over of the total shares, does this mean that they have to pass the FPPT again as owners? Now the FL have looked at the books they can see the total lack of investment from GHF and the IIB since the take over last year, and can see that they do not have the funds in place to run the club. Is this one of the reasons that Massimo paid off Enterprise last week, even though the debt was nothing to do with him? But now all the other local suppliers who are owed money will want to be paid, plus the company who stopped work at TA over non-payment for making the new all-weather pitch. If the FL say that GFH and the IIB pass the FPPT, even with the financial chaos behind them, could they be sued by the debtors of GFH for allowing them to keep some control over the club and breaking their own FL ownership rules? As far as I can see Eleonora Sports are funded by the Cellino family wealth, and Massimo will only own 9.5% of the total shares, so they should walk the FPPT, maybe this has already been intimated to them by the FL, this would explain why they have paid the wages for the last two months and funded the loan players and paid off Enterprise. They know that they are in the clear, and the mess now is down to GFH. I guess that now GFH and IIB are trying to shift some of their share allocation to get below the magic 10% threshold so that they do not have to pass the FL FPPT. If anyone has any better idea's feel free to put them forward, after all I could be 100% wrong!

1.) Makes sense but if this is the case how did they ever pass the test in the first place. They must have money didn't they just purchase a multi million pound house in London. I think they just wanted to make a quick buck with only minimal investment. Just want someone with money and passion at our helm. Believe if I ever become a billionaire leeds is top of my shopping list

2.) 04 Mar 2014 09:17:33
No gfh and iib already own club so don't need to pass fppt

3.) Yes I understand that they already own the club, but the complete share structure has changed and I would expect that everything has to go before the FL again, and I would think that they have to approve everyone, especially as now when they look at the books and see what a mess they must be in.

4.) Makes no difference whether they own 100% or 25%, they have already been vetted and sanctioned by the FL. The financial mess they are in may be a part of the FL questioning but would not mean they would have to take the test again

5.) GFH had a change of director in January. Would assume the FPPT would apply to new director

6.) Agree with Paulux. Only thing he forgot was the accumulating debt for the remaining 25% signore cellino not buying. If cellino puts in 7.5 million you would expect the other investors to put 2.5 million in.

Likewise when it comes to buying players. I don't believe the 25% remaining investors have deep enough pockets to match Cellinos ambitions for leeds this will be the close seasons stumbling block I suppose.

7.) 04 Mar 2014 22:22:03
I understand that cellino will be paying everything going forward (you would need survivor to confirm) that's why gfh won't waste time talkin to farnan group because they would never match what is a dream deal for gfh!

8.) Wow. If that's true GFH has the best of all worlds however does explain the buy out clause for when we reach the premership.

I would like to see a few things.

1. If by chance Cellino is refused permission by the FL, then I would like to see a detailed explanation from the FL why he has been refused. Not just a simple "did not meet our criteria" that covers everything, but something detailed and specific.
2. Cellino making a public statement that he still intends to continue with the T/O no matter what the FL ask for. This would do two things. One, put our minds at ease that he is not going to walk. Two, let the FL know that he's in for the long haul and will not be put off by what appears to be the extra hoops that they are asking him jump through. If the FL know this they could back off.
3. An answer from the FL if they asked both GFH and Bates for EXACTLY the same information, as they are now asking Cellino for.
4. Then, if they did, how the hell did they approve GFH about 12 months ago when now they appear to be out of funds and have been for several months.

I fully agree that the FL have a job to do, but there seems to be no fixed guides, and they do appear to be making it up as they go along.

Originally, what this fiasco started we all thought that all that mattered was to pass the FPPT test regarding criminal convictions, now it seems that the FL also need to a business plan of how the club will be funded into the future.

If Cellino is not a fit and proper person to buy Leeds because he cannot come up with a valid business plan and his shady past, and he looks to be out to screw the club like everyone else appears to have done over the last years, then I have no problem regarding the time it takes and if he is finally refused.

But there does not appear to be a level playing field, from what we are seeing from the outside.

Some transparency is needed.

1.) 26 Feb 2014 13:04:16
Gfh passed because they are an investment bank valued at around 900 mill with no criminal record! I believe they announced quarterly profits of around 5 million the other day

2.) Yeah because of their sale of 75% of leeds. Take that away and they made nothing

3.) GFH still own Leeds so their posted accounts can't have taken that into account. Think before you post.

4.) The 5 million DOLLARS profit is only what GFH haven't put into club since November due to Don Cellini and Flowers loans

Survivor/Jeff, was your post yesterday regarding Chris Farnell now being out of favour any thing to do with the FL anouncement yesterday. Has someone messed up with the legal papers?

Do you really think that David Haigh quitting his position with GFH is just a coinsidence? This looks like the "just in case" Plan B being put into operation. Haigh moves to Eleonora Sports next? let's wait and see. But I think that there is more to this than meets the eye.

Not how I read the article. Got knocked back on Friday regarding a player but did not say who it was. Ruled out making an approach for Jack Rodwell, but did speak over the weekend to West Ham United regarding the availability of Jack Collison. No comment of how that went, so it still could be on the cards.
