I have been reading a lot of comments on here lately and on social network sites about Cellino and the way he is going about things, Lots of people are giving him undeserved stick with some of the things he is doing and saying.

I am shocked and disgusted with these as he is doing a fantastic job, he has taken over a club with more drama's than an episode of Eastenders, he has people coming from everywhere asking for money owed that by the sounds of things he wasn't even aware of.

The guy was aiming a little high when he said we would be back in the Premiership in 2 seasons (my opinion) with all the extra crap he is getting thrown at him. I would think your looking more like 3 seasons to be fair. If this is the case then so be it and let's get behind him and support him. He is the best chance we have of getting back running and functioning as a proper football club.

lufc4life

1.) Agree. lufc4life, I think an old adage here is true.
The phrase 'cometh the hour, cometh the man' means that when a time of need arises, a man to do the job will appear. Cellino is our man, in time of DIRE NEED. MOT

2.) I think the way he is handling McD is a little harsh. Don't get me wrong It's time for Brian to go, I'm on record stating his sacking at the end of Jan was the correct decision. I just don't think anybody is benefitting from his mind games. et him out, get a new manager in ASAP so we can concentrate on the new season.

3.) I agree, the guy has taken over a failing business and it is a long road to recovery, but MC is tackling it in the right way: look at the overheads and cut costs where available. The only other option is to put up prices that nobody wants to see.
I for one am happy as Larry (whoever he is) that MC has bought the club.
Sustainable growth over the next couple of seasons to challenge for promotion. Happy Days

4.) Don't understand ANY of the criticism, can someone please come forward who would prefer us to still be under GFH control and in administration.

Morning LUFC family.

any thoughts on what we think/would like the team to be this weekend?

taking into consideration our injuries at the minute I would go for this. (3-5-2)

GK: Kenny

CB: Pearce
CB: Lees
CB: Warnock (I would try him central)

RWB: Stewart
CDM: Murphy
CM: Mowatt
CM: Tonge
LWB: White

ST: McCormack
ST: Smith

Subs: Butland, Wootton, Pugh, Brown, Poleon, Dawson, Walters

lufc4life

1.) Would agree with you regarding Dawson. I think he's got really good potential and needs more game time to improve further

2.) U mad Stewart rwb he can't defend

{Ed013's Note - Can he even play football ;-)

I am sick of reading posts saying we need to stand by Brian McDermott and give him our support. why exactly? he has been our worst manager by far over the last 15yrs (FACT)

His signings are very poor.

Hunt - Massive wage, offers nothing, hasn't scored in all the games he "shouldn't of played" and its clear for all to see he is only there as a favour due to him being friends with Brian. not because he can improve Leeds as a club.

Murphy - Rumoured to be earing £22k a week, cost us over £1m, doesn't look like a championship player (league 1 at best) again offers nothing and we have far better midfielders who are not getting a game when he plays every week if fit.

Zaliukas - Had a couple of good games before he earned himself a long contract, since then he has looked awful and very dodgey on and off the ball

Kebe - I don't have enough space in this message to describe how poor this guy is and more than likely coming from a Premiership team on loan and again a friend of Brian's he is more than likely earning more than £20k a week from Leeds

Stewart - Awful player to be fair, has pace but offers nothing else. Doesn't have the strength to go round people has he gets muscled out every time, final ball lacks quality and doesn't track back and defend from the games I have watched him play.

Wickham (on loan) - probably the best and worst signing he has made at the same time. Best signing has he has pace for a big lad, good ball control, proved he can score goals at this level and young and ambitious. started off with a fantastic debut up front against QPR and then the poor lad gets played out wide (what a stupid tactic)

Butland (on loan) - Touted as one of Englands best goalkeepers and earning a few international caps recently. comes to Leeds and is probably statistically the worst goalkeeper we have ever had (in terms of goals conceded) and he has only been here a couple of month. You have to feel for the lad having a pathetic defence in front of him.

Tactics have been pathetic as well, he doesn't know his best team, and continues to play people out of position. He insists on playing people who are not up to it and don't have what it takes to be a Leeds player. People like Poleon, Dawson and even Ariyibi have been given no chance at all.

He constantly makes excuses for his team losing and getting battered, its always something other than the truth - he should be coming out and saying "we got it wrong from the start, the team selections were wrong, the tactics were wrong, we didn't want to play as a team and just want to earn our money and go home"

I have defended Brian more times than I have any other Leeds manager in the past and also was the first to slag Cellino off for sacking him back in January. I apologise Massimo and we should of all stood by your decision

Brian out, Redders/Gibbs in for rest of season. they have took control this season already in a couple of matches and if I'm right we have not lost under them. we even battered Huddersfield 5-1 in one of the games.

sort it out LUFC and quick before its too late

lufc4life

1.) Succinctly put. 10/10. MorleyWhite

2.) 04 Apr 2014 10:41:51
The yep piece on BMD proves that all at the club know that he is not good enough to be our manager but can't afford to sack him.if BMD is as principled as he makes out he should resign and be better thought of.
p, s. could you also back date it Brian.

Mr T.

3.) Very well said, the man is full of excuses and totally inept!

4.) Perhaps if you read today's report in the YEP you'll realise how wrong you are.

The sh1t the McDermot has been putting up with behind the scenes for months is frankly a disgrace. I don't believe any manager would have performed well under these circumstances and most would have walked.

The assumption that there is a better manager is out there, willing to take all this chaos on and who will arrive in shining armour on a white horse and transport the team to the Champions League is pure fantasy.

We have a proven manager and some very good players who are underperforming not because they lack pride or passion but because they are having to put up with an unprecedented, chaotic, hostile working environment.

What's more, the attitude of some fans is not making things better. I've only missed one game this season and since all this kicked off I've seen good players turn into statues, frightened to go near the ball for fear of the self-proclaimed 'best supporters in the world.' The abuse that Peltier got when he was having a bad game (after a good start to the season) when the 'fans' started singing for Byram being a prime example. How does that kind of 'support' help?

No manger will sort this club out until the club itself gets sorted and anyone who thinks otherwise is simply deluded.

Sort yourselves out and direct the anger at the perpetrators, not the victims.

Sadly, I think a lot of Leeds fans live in a 'we're a massive club' dream world and have little or no grip on reality. They all seem to congregate on this site oddly. The consensus on Twitter and elsewhere seems to be very different to here.

5.) There is no question bmd is worst manager we have had in years. He doesn't have the passion, fight or character it takes to be at this club. We need a manager who can motivate players and make them worry about their place in the team rather than letting them coast along like nothing is wrong. Let's just get this season over and stay up then give baldy his p45.
MOT

6.) Think you ought to be manager. well said. this guy makes Warnock look brilliant.

7.) Agreed but some of rhose players mentioned are quality unfortunatly javnt performed I don't know how much of that is because of brian and how mich our fans give them a few touches then decide they're garbagr and slate them if I wer a player and recieved simillar abuse after 1 game or whatever i'd so the exact same pro or not but I agree theye had their chance now.

8.) "The worst manager in years" - I really don't think any rational person would judge a manager or a player in the present circumstances. Sadly most football fans are not rational.

9.) Unfortunately the fans have nothing to base their decisions on other than the performances and results on the field; that's the only measure that counts in this game.
Based on that we all have a right to be a little annoyed as the manager is employed to get the best out of the team, whatever the circumstances. If your suggesting he's doing that, then he's not very good at it; If he's not, exit stage left!

10.) Having read the YEP it seems to me that BMc has been under performance management by GFH since December.
Written and verbal warnings, performance reviews and improvement plans are all what's required when your reviewing someone's performance. It's so when they sack him they can prove they have given him every opportunity to improve, looks like they are abiding by employment law and putting him through the process!

11.) He has to be worst manager in years, l am a rational person and l for one cannot remember a Leeds team playing worse football than this. What happened to standing strong in face of adversity, the -15 team had it a lot worse than this but they got together as a unit and played their hearts out for the shirt

12.) 05 Apr 2014 12:03:44
It should be clear to anyone with sense that McD has had no oppotunity to buy any players other than Murphy. All the others have either been clever spotting of good you potential [Smith] or beg and borrow players that others don't want because they are not good enough or past their best. In addition he in herited the garbage that Warnock brought in!

Give a good man, who has had every rotten apple thrown at him, a reasonable budget and time next season. As for GFH those devious camel herders need to p. s of back to the desert asap - they have been the worst possible owners that any club should have to suffer - good riddence.

Stand behined Brian the man could have walked away and instead has shown his loyalty and tuffed it out -he is a real star and desirves unreserved support from all real LUFC supporters- not the wingers that post on here every day.

02 Apr 2014 09:45:18
After watching that load of garbage again last night I fear the worst for us I really do.

We are 12pts above relegation zone, there are only 21pts still to play for.

We have 7 games left, Birmingham, Barnsley and Blackpool who are all fighting for survival.

Derby, Watford, Wigan and Forest who are all still in with playoff chances.

We have taken 4pts from our last 10 games (relegation form)

I personally can see us going down without us going into administration. I just hope that Massimo Cellino gets to own Leeds and still wants us as a League 1 side.

All I can see for us at the minute is the following.

Cellino gets approved, we get relegated to League 1.

lufc4life

1.) I would hope that if cellino gets approved performances would improve and brian would be sacked. Look how we played last time he got sacked.

2.) I agree things are bleak, but I thing we will stay up. Not because we will hit a rich vein of form, I just think the bottom 3 will lose points enabling us to stay up by default.

01 Apr 2014 08:58:43
Well. last night I listened to the Massimo Cellino telephone conversation with the Leeds fan who had a dodgy accent. the accent of the Leeds fan made me think is it genuine or not but after seeing lots of posts on here confirming it and Ed saying it is 100% real it got me really excited at the thought of him coming in and ripping the club apart and starting from scratch.

I think if he gets what we all hope then all us Leeds fans will have a bright future and will soon have a club that can compete at the highest level.

I would expect that between now and the start of the 2014/15 season we will:

Own Elland Road and Thorpe Arche

We will be rid of BMD and have a passionate manager who knows how to get a team motivated

We will clear all the crap from the squad and keep a small group of players (Ross, Byram, Pearce, Mowatt, Smith)

Bring in better players on cheaper wages who will want to play for the club and the shirt

Re-develop some of the stands at Elland Road

Premiership Here We Come (obviously all the above is relying on him winning his appeal)

What pains me to say is. if he gets told know then all the above will be complete reversed with who ever decides to take us on next

Come on QC guy, do the right thing and give Massimo the chance to give us fans what we all deserve

Atmosphere will be tense tonight that is for sure

All my life I never really wanted or asked for much! A roof over my head, a couple of meals, steady job. Always been honest to myself and others. Watch leeds and lose a few, draw a few and maybe win a few more! Well I am bored with all that as it's not even that great so COME ON MASSIMO let's have it! Please if there is a god let's smile on us - just once!

{Ed013's Note - I thought you was breaking into a Foo Fighters song when I first started reading ;-)

I can't see the problem with this at all. We need to own our own ground if we want to get back to being in a position of promotion and to be successful. Ken wouldn't of used Ross money to buy ground. it would of been in an off shore account in his name a long time ago.

If we get this lad from AC Milan on loan you never know he could bag 20+ goals this season so would technically replace Ross (plus I think Matt Smith will improve on last year with goals scored)

If we get 2 strikers who bag 20 plus each why do we need a big name striker in??

If this is true Martyn_g then let's hope they want rid.

Would love to see Snoddy back in our team, he has proved he isn't out of his depth at Premiership level like most Leeds fans said when he left.

I really wish all this negativity would stop. We are all Leeds and want what's best for OUR club. whether that be a supporter who doesn't get to go to games for what ever reason, season ticket holder, player, manager or board room staff. we all want to see Leeds progress and do well.

Nooruddin has come out and told the fans the truth with what's going on at the minute, Brian has come out and said he won't sign players just for the sake of it and wants people who want to be at Leeds and can improve our team, the players we have now are a bit low on confidence but so far this season I have been to every home game (League and cup) and I haven't seen 1 player in a Leeds shirt not give his all. There are far too many people on here who claim to be Leeds fans and do nothing but slate the club and moan about no players been brought in. If we did what the persons on here want we would be in a far worse position both financially and on the pitch.

Leave the running of our club to the professionals who get paid good money to do so. In my eyes everyone body at the club are doing their best and are doing a fantastic job. leave them too it rather than causing unrest making their job more difficult than it needs to be. It will all fall in to place in the next 18months

rant over!

Not every player is greedy and going for the highest bidder with wages. Some players do actually look at things like distance from where they are to the club interested, facilities, players who are at the club intrested, promotion chances, fan loyalty and most of all Manager of the club.

Leeds have one of (if not) the best manager in the division, facilites are Premiership quality, we have a good bunch of lads, and fans are 2nd to none.

We have as good a chance as any (if we are interested that is)

Don't rule us out of signing anyone. Look at Murphy. Premiership teams were interested in him and he chose Leeds

He is on trial with Fulham. There has been a picture going round on social media sites of him training there.

If they cancelled their contracts then they wouldn't have to "buy" they would be free agents technically. If they were free agents then I'm pretty sure they could join anytime - they wouldn't have to wait while window opens.

I think his tyres are as bald as the drivers head at the minute.

Need to be replaced with someone who has more grip of the car.
