Just looking at Simon Jordan's comments

He's a disciple of Bielsa. Bielsa could have got them relegated! "

"If Andoni Iraola is someone who brings organised chaos, they have got that already! They need balance and shape! ".

Bielsa was struggling with injured players, but rather than call games off (like other teams conveniently did) he used the young guns instead
#honest bloke

Simon Jordan should concentrate on his own affair.

That is worrying, we don't want more chaos, we need to stabilise at the back, and Bielsa's method are based on a sound defence. If this Andoni guy comes in, we could be in for more another roller coaster ride.

I’m with Mick, we need to move away from the “Bielsa” style of setting traps and conceding bucket loads of stupid goals! As much as Simon Jordan is an idiot he’s got a very valid point! We’re not good enough to play that way, La Liga isn’t nearly as physical as the PL so it’s not punished as much. Remember the month under Bielsa where we conceded 28 goals (might be wrong on exact number) !

Think that’s a bit of a sweeping statement Mighty.

Simon Jordan says a lot of sensible things, but just like Aboutabore on Talk 5hite Radio, barbed statements gets headlines, which results on ‘hits’ increased traffic to the show, which makes the paying advertisers very happy!

Someone actually pulled Jordan up on this post and replayed Jordan stating what “a breath of fresh air” Bielsa was to the epl.

And our potential Spanish Manager having played for Bielsa (And with JH) is often stereotyped as an imitation of Bielsa. (Due to his love of intensity)

But he has gone on record as saying his sides play with intensity but with the specific objective of “causing chaos” for the opposition, whilst that ‘may’ include pressing, he maintains it’s a structured “organised chaos” not a headless chicken go bat crazy which is what the second half turned into against Florists under JM.

He’s a very bright intelligent, intellectual coach by all accounts and has flexibility about how his teams play but maintains his sides are built upon athleticism and courage…. but there is a plan!

I’d still rather have the swarzenegger fella personally but I think this Iraola guy sounds very interesting and for the same reasons Bielsa wouldn’t go to Everton (no pace in team) it is thought he is a good fit for our current squad.

Iraola is influenced by Bielsa’s ideas certainly, but he doesn’t slavishly follow Bielsa’s tactical playbook. Key point is that he doesn’t go full on man-to-man marking - which was possibly Bielsa’s biggest issue. He also tends to use a double pivot DM set-up to help cover the defence, as the full backs tend to get forward to enable the overload on the wings. Yes there’s chaos, and a high risk high reward approach - but he has managed to temper the risk and Rayo Vallecano have conceded just 22 goal in 20 matches in La Liga this season - managing clean sheets away at Barca, Villarreal and Seville, with the latter two enabling 0-1 victories.

Bielsa was a breath of fresh air but in the first season, the second season was a shambles and chaotic and nobody can deny that . His point is we need someone who can organise a defence and have a team less chaotic . For us now it’s needed .
