Not sure about this chase of Nat Philips. In my mind we are well stocked for CBs.
With a pairing of Wober and Cresswell helped by Ayling, Struijk, Hjelde and Cooper. Srely this is enough cover?

Unless Farke see Phillips as better than what we have
Personally if it was my choice I’d start Creswell and Wober and offload Strujk and replace with Phillips.

Given my previous comments on Nat Phillips, you’ll be unsurprised I agree with you. We also have Diogo Monteiro who may be hoping to get some minutes off the bench initially in the Carabao Cup etc.

Agreed leodis. If the 10 million fee is correct we are being done up like a kipper! The lad at 26 years old has only played fifty odd games.

TBF Corky you can nowadays fark a transfer fee relative to skillset out zee window . It's just mental nowadays

The fact he's a " pool player " will be all justification needed for a a hefty tag .

I would also prefer to see Crezzer get his shot.

Not sure I’d write off Pascal! The last three years have been a bit strange for him. Previous to that he had only played 5 championship games for us and suddenly he was CM at Anfield! After that CB and LB in the premiership! In a way the clubs need has probably stunted his natural development as a goal scoring CB. He’s now got the chance to re establish himself at a level that he’s never consistently played in, so I’d keep him and challenge him to win a place and see how he does.

I agree with Spppppanish. Keep him, and the others, add a natural LB if Firpo goes and our defence is sorted for a long Championship season. We have enough depth at the back for sure, but no loans out from that pool.

Rather than bring in NP, it would seem more sensible to try to persuade Berra to start his coaching badges over here instead of Italy, registering him as a player just in case we needed additional cover. Either that or offer a year’s contract on a lowish wage to an experienced free agent such as Liam Moore, who’d certainly not expect to start many games.
