Seem to remember when first reported the fee was only £23.5m plus the add ons. Reports say we owe £4.2m still for some of the adds ons that weren't met.
If that's the case we paid somewhere around £27.7m best case or £29.2m if the initial fee was £25m.

I’ve read more about Iraola now and tbh I don’t think he’s the type of coach we need. He’s similar to Bielsa in the way he likes to create a chaotic style to catch teams out. High intensity and high risk press. Personally I want us to move away from this style, it’s been sussed out now and teams beat the “traps” way too easily! We need someone to come in and stabilise, make us difficult to break down and let the attacking 4 have more freedom. No RB’s challenging in the attacking area and being caught out of position 15 times a game! Back to basics!

Baz Probably true but the real reason may have something to do with almost half the EPL now being closer to a world class League. Must be disheartening going into approximately 80% of fixtures knowing you'll lose.
EPL clubs now need to spend around £100M in the off season just to stand still.
Imo soon shall be the perfect time for the footballing authorities to agree a restructuring of the EPL and Championship so these leagues retain their competitive edge.

Again we have to look to the Rugby League again for a level (as near as can be) playing field. To get somewhere near an all encompassing "salary cap" is called for, unfortunately it would be super complicated to devize and just as difficult to implement, but it can be done!
I can see somebody dragging it throught the courts on "restriction" grounds and possibly the final, huge, hurdle would be that it must be FIFA wide. If not, At least UEFA wide.
Ah well maybe just a pipedream but it could be done.

I'm not one to say sack DF. Well not now anyway.
When he's gets us up and I'm sure he will, then is the time to look at alternatives.
I don't understand some saying he deserves a chance to manage Leeds in the EPL if he gets us promoted.
We all agree player upgrades are needed so why not a new manager?
It's going to be tough when we back where we belong so if there's a manager out there who's better than Farke, well it a no brainer to me.
No room for sentiment if we want to push on as a club.

I realize pundits are only doing their job and obviously don't get to see every game but Carlton Palmer has just said that Meslier is a fantastic keeper having a great season and is a future French No1. Yes he really actually said that.
I actually quite like Palmer unlike most Leeds fans but that's just ridiculous.

In 2 Champo seasons Leeds have had their better players cherry picked by EPL clubs and European Clubs
Sinisterra, Rutter, Summerville, Adams, Gray, Kamara etc all pursued and desired and bought by other clubs in better leagues.
IF Meslier was genuinely ' world class ' as you and Berma laughably suggest he would not be languishing for one let alone two seasons in Champo.

The fact he is still relatively young for a keeper is why he is not being bought by a big club yet.

I kinda agree Alf but what number 10 could we have got or were even in for? Hamer is a CM who’s actually been playing on the left this season and the Hungarian guy is a wide attacker.
Maybe Gnonto is the answer as I can see him scoring double figures this season from that position, probably twice as many as Rutter managed last season.

Mez has been solid enough last few games but I disagree totally that he’s made great saves in those matches as some have said. From what I’ve seen any save that he’s made he should be expected to save? There’s been no worldly saves just ones he should be keeping out anyway. However credit where due he has made saves and looked better on majority of crosses and cut out the calamities. Long may it continue.

Farke has zero excuses this season.
This squad is by far the best in the division.
Last season has gone as have Gray Jimmy and Rutter but still we have the best first 11 and squad.
Time for DF to show how good he is, at least at this level.
I’m confident he will.
