Have a feeling a new signing will be announced tomorrow and probably two.
Who wants a BABYSHAM!
08 Feb 2023 12:40:25
The money is coming for Nuno Espírito Santo.
Backed in to 5s from 20s.
1.) 08 Feb 2023 12:48:14
Ha as predicted by Sir Nostra Baz.
2.) 08 Feb 2023 13:16:49
Hope not. Prefer Spanish, Dutch and Argie first.
3.) 08 Feb 2023 14:13:29
Aus I would prefer the Spanish, Dutch and Argie first too
My prediction isn't based on my preferred choice but on the most realistic choice under this mediocre regime
Nuno is still more preferable than several others such as the Hassanthul and Gerrard.
4.) 08 Feb 2023 17:06:58
So, basically, if you put twenty quid on at 5/ 1, you lose twenty quid, right? ??.
5.) 08 Feb 2023 17:08:01
I’ve read more about Iraola now and tbh I don’t think he’s the type of coach we need. He’s similar to Bielsa in the way he likes to create a chaotic style to catch teams out. High intensity and high risk press. Personally I want us to move away from this style, it’s been sussed out now and teams beat the “traps” way too easily! We need someone to come in and stabilise, make us difficult to break down and let the attacking 4 have more freedom. No RB’s challenging in the attacking area and being caught out of position 15 times a game! Back to basics!
6.) 09 Feb 2023 20:55:22
If you look back I said both poch and Santo been interviewed and nobody seemed to believe me poch has turned us down but Santo is deciding just because papers saying all these others don't believe everything you read.
05 Dec 2022 20:28:37
Apparently Leeds have agreed to pay 10.5 million for the French flop. If true done well to get that deal as I think the court of arbitration said pay the full 21 million.
1.) 06 Dec 2022 03:57:23
If indeed a negotiated settlement is true and at £10.5 million or less
some of which may have allegedly been covered by indemnity/ liability contract insurance
then a much better result.
2.) 06 Dec 2022 13:05:31
So what source is this' apparent £10.5 million rumour ' Jigster?
3.) 08 Dec 2022 09:20:24
Looks like we paying full whack plus interest but on better terms.
4.) 08 Dec 2022 17:54:05
Yeah read those articles Aus today
If true and likely it is
it would mean Bright and Corkster were not correct in their reduced settlement guess
and I was right all along again ? (just jesting fellas )
5.) 09 Dec 2022 07:05:41
How can he play for Basel if we paid for him?
{Ed001's Note - because you gave up his registration a long time ago. You are paying for his original transfer, nothing to do with where he is today.}
6.) 09 Dec 2022 10:32:40
Right. Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}
28 Jul 2022 18:49:20
Any truth in Ziyech rumours I wonder? At 8 mill it sounds like bollox but.
{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you.}
1.) 28 Jul 2022 21:03:24
Not sure he’s the answer to what we need tbh.
2.) 29 Jul 2022 11:10:44
Your right Sweatz, we don't need another winger ATM, albeit lad has quality. but we aapl know what we need desperately.
3.) 29 Jul 2022 11:41:01
Well Corky, in the words of one (fictitious) agent ‘The truth is out there, but so are lies’. I suspect our ‘interest’ in Ziyech may be in the words of an entirely different kind of agent, and there’s more chance of ? turning up at Thorp Arch than him.
14 Jul 2022 20:45:46
Possible target is Zinchenko. Well going by a few wagers placed in last 24 hours.
Large bets too.
1.) 14 Jul 2022 22:17:39
Corky How are you privy to such information?
2.) 15 Jul 2022 04:51:22
He wants to play in midfield.
3.) 15 Jul 2022 08:19:50
I work for a large betting company.
4.) 15 Jul 2022 13:35:10
Corky Thank you for sharing but current talk about him seems to have him Goons bound.

29 Nov 2023 22:31:21
Since a bad performance at Southampton we've won 7/ 9 games with one defeat. Promotion form?
1.) 30 Nov 2023 02:50:06
It would probably have been 9/ 9 IF we had played in white against Stoke and Rotherham as well
Stop playing in that awful blue shirt 2nd strip
Leeds United 10 wins all in the famous white shirt.
2.) 30 Nov 2023 13:10:46
Regarding our away kit, I hope someone finally sees sense next season and come up with a traditional Leeds United yellow change strip.
3.) 30 Nov 2023 14:36:53
Yes LUFC . traditional ALL PLAIN YELLOW
with no extra designs or patterns
Adidas have had a shocker this season and last with 2nd and 3rd kits.
27 Nov 2023 23:56:32
Gary ONeil what a geezer b proper gent.
1.) 28 Nov 2023 10:25:46
I only saw the last bit of the game Cork
But I did see a couple of the penalties and the headbutt. The last pen in my opinion was very soft. Not an obvious error. The headbutt there was contact with his head into kilmans face.
Var is rubbish in its current form and the guys running are not up to job and certainly not consistent.
2.) 28 Nov 2023 11:40:11
Again I must say, there is nothing intrinsicley wrong with VAR.
The people running it however? .
3.) 28 Nov 2023 15:10:19
Yes leodis the technology is fine its the interpretation that's wrong and the time it takes to the wrong decisions.
I've often said they should have a time limit on decisions. If they can't make their minds up on a foul or handball in say a minute then it's not an obvious error.
Players already carry a tracker in their sports bras. Surely answer is technology for offsides.
4.) 28 Nov 2023 21:57:52
It's been mentioned on here before.
But why not make VAR auditable to all and run it similar Rugby
It works for them.
5.) 28 Nov 2023 22:19:06
What Lei, Ben and Leeroy said; absolutely spot on fellas.
Anyone know if other European leagues are having problems with this?
or is it just our incompetent, not the brightest match officials and VAR officials.
6.) 28 Nov 2023 23:00:03
I have not heard baz but rashford got sent off in Europe. Apart from being amusing it was no where near sending off. He steps across to shield the ball a player their player flies in from a side and rashford accidentally stood on him. No stamp just player appeared under foot. So going by that the interpretation is equally poor.
None ex players watching slow mo replays over and over again and getting it wrong.
26 Nov 2023 19:13:02
At another wedding this weekend these things are expensive. Anyway quite a few Leeds fans here and the subject of who was better came up between Hasselbank and Yeboah. Originally I thought Tony but now not too sure.
So who was a better player?
1.) 26 Nov 2023 22:26:00
Yeboah edges it imo
1) Yeboah an icon who excited me more with his superb unpredictability
2) Very similar goals per game average with JFH for Leeds and a better career goals per game average than JFH.
3) . He could score ALL types of goals. more than any other Leeds United striker/ forward Charles, Clarke, Jones, Jordan, Chapman, Wallace, Cantona, JFH, Viduka etc
There is one goal though that perhaps I can't imagine Yeboah scoring
and that was tbe intricate twists and turns with supreme balance hattrick goal by Mark Viduka against Liverpool.
2.) 26 Nov 2023 23:06:12
JFH better all round player imo and performed at a high level for a couple other clubs including European competition so gets the nod for me. Really though, it's a coin toss between the two.
Baz, as for your Duke quattro reminiscing, as I previously once confessed on this forum attending that game got me into a spot of trouble (deservedly) .
3.) 26 Nov 2023 23:13:33
Ooo corks what good question.
I'll have to answer in two parts.
If I was a manager wanting a goal scorer for my team then hasselbank. Know what you get brilliant goal scorer all types of goals.
As a fan Tony. Explosive. Unpredictable. A force of nature. His goals versus Liverpool and Wimbledon will be played as long as football is. Just not with us for long enough.
4.) 26 Nov 2023 23:36:15
Brother George I am most intrigued. ??. please can you recount said incident . one more time please!
5.) 26 Nov 2023 23:40:19
Ben that goal ( part of his hatrick) against Wimbledon was phenomenal
as were his other hatricks for Leeds United (especially the UEFA cup hattrick vs Monaco )
6.) 26 Nov 2023 21:38:05
Both great players but different. Hard to say who was 'better'. Maybe ed001 will do a comparison piece for us?
{Ed001's Note - I have added that to the list. Good one alf, those two will make for a good comparison. Two players I used to love to watch, unless they were playing against my team.}
7.) 27 Nov 2023 00:52:51
Baz I missed an important family event. The type where someone usually says "I do".
8.) 27 Nov 2023 00:58:23
Some players just have that magic don't they baz. Yeboah. Papisse cisse. Demand ba. Lua lua. To name a few. Such amazing and powerful strikers but never really lasted more than a couple of seasons.
{Ed001's Note - Demba Ba had a degenerative knee condition which made it a miracle he played in the Premier League at all.}
9.) 27 Nov 2023 04:21:19
George you made the right decision ?.
10.) 27 Nov 2023 05:50:07
Baz Thanks ?? bro. Love it. The guilt I felt in advance offset by each of the Duke's goals especially the winner ? which sent me into jubilant unrepentant euphoria.
11.) 27 Nov 2023 07:02:08
That was one of the best matches I’ve ever attended!
12.) 27 Nov 2023 08:24:56
Thanks Ed I look forward to that!
{Ed001's Note - I hope it lives up to your expectations then!}
13.) 27 Nov 2023 08:36:16
Yeboah for me, that goal against Liverpool sticks long in my memory.
14.) 27 Nov 2023 11:41:21
ED I didn't know that about Ba. I remember he was injured a lot but never new he had a knee problem.
He did manage to score after the famous Gerrard slip. I think that was one of his last.
I would like to add yakubu and gyan to my list of African finishers.
{Ed001's Note - it was only because Chelsea had so much money they could afford to take the chance. A whole bunch of other teams walked away from a deal because of the risk of him breaking down.}
15.) 27 Nov 2023 13:11:01
You got two friends cork?
16.) 27 Nov 2023 13:12:27
He wasn't on par with either player, but can anyone remember the wonder volley Doukara scored against Forest (Yeboah esk too)
17.) 28 Nov 2023 00:03:55
Good one Aus!
19 Nov 2023 19:23:23
Gnonto an injury away from ripping up this league.
1.) 19 Nov 2023 19:47:29
Gnonto a motivation away from ripping up this league.
2.) 19 Nov 2023 20:03:35
Maybe right Alf. But I still believe if he gets a start he will do the bizz.
3.) 19 Nov 2023 20:26:22
Gnonto this year has been pants. as Alf alluded to his motivation/ desire is lacking in his performances
But even last season has he been overated?
A mere handful of positive performances imo
Cracking hatrick in FACup but that was at home to Cardiff
Good first half and goal at Man U
The cameo assist in the win at Liverpool
The stirring 2nd half comeback win against the south coast pensioners
Err that's it folks.
4.) 19 Nov 2023 20:53:37
He’s nearer to six foot tall at the time of writing but it would be wonderful to behold.
5.) 20 Nov 2023 00:46:38
Gnonto has got his own future in his hands. He can push to be a success and get to the euros. Or not.
I do not think its motivation but the good old English game that is catching up with his body.
A few injuries while he adapts to the rigors of our league.
Rodrigo went through it. Sini is going through it and gnonto is starting with it.
6.) 20 Nov 2023 05:17:20
Corky Don't you mean full fitness away? What you wrote implies injury is the aim.
7.) 20 Nov 2023 17:09:26
I thought it meant if one of our regulars gets injured and there is opportunity for Willy he will take it? If not, I ain't got a scooby what the original post means.
8.) 20 Nov 2023 17:15:10
An injury for someone else.
9.) 20 Nov 2023 22:26:38
You a little slow on the uptake George. Alf n Bright bang on.
10.) 20 Nov 2023 22:50:16
He did get a start at Stoke and was poor.
11.) 21 Nov 2023 00:44:30
Cork So you omit a key phrase and I'm slow on the uptake? That makes sense. I'll have to remember that.
What if Struick gets injured? Does Willy slot in at centre half? What if Meslier gets injured, will Willy be in between your sticks?
Try writing what you mean without leaving key words out. It's a Yorkshire trait so might not get it, Shepherd Elvis.
12.) 21 Nov 2023 19:10:52
Try writing what you mean? Coming from the bloke who writes in riddles!
I can’t stand up for falling down ?.
19 Nov 2023 19:21:00
Read a good post a few days back regarding players who should have played more for England.
Can't be arsed to name an eleven but here's a few top mentions.
Terry Cooper
Tony Currie
Paul Madeley
And the first black player to represent England Paul Reaney.
1.) 19 Nov 2023 20:30:29
Loved Tony Currie . god to many Leeds United supporters at the time
. good shouts Corky especially Paul Reaney vastly underrated player . Leeds United best ever RB in my opinion ( only Gary Kelly comes close)
19 Nov 2023 19:21:18
Who’s he?
22 Aug 2023 20:42:46
Good player especially in our current league.
11 Aug 2023 18:39:19
George probably the structure of payment. Leeds wanted cash up front?
27 Jul 2023 20:06:16
Nothing wrong with competition for places. Mez most likely staying so a good piece of business especially at 400k. I thought he’d cost 2 mill plus.
24 Jul 2023 20:17:05
I think Phillips would be a better GK than CB. Hopefully I’m wrong.
28 Nov 2023 00:03:55
Good one Aus!
27 Nov 2023 23:55:23
I’ll never forget that morning when I heard the terrible news a Sunday I believe. Never met the guy but it really hit home that day.
26 Nov 2023 18:41:38
Personally I believe we play without a striker as such.
The two lads drop so deep has me thinking that?
25 Nov 2023 22:56:07
Sorry Chris mate but you are talking absolute bollox. ’
If you have say half your team having played two games in the last week and your opponent has had a total break then you are at a total disadvantage next game. Maybe only 10% off but these margins matter.,
As for your mention of the everyday worker in comparison to a football player, well that’s nonsense. You can’t compare. It’s like comparing Georgy our Gary Speed lookalike to Mo Farah!
25 Nov 2023 21:43:59
Agreed mate.
I believe we have the second best squad in the league and unless we go up it will have been a failure.
