Looks like the fee for Rutter was 25 million and the 10 million add ons were not met. No sell on clause either apparently?

CORKWHITE1

1.) 20 Aug 2024 11:25:43
Do we still have to pay Hoffenheim their cut? Because if we do, we've just been taken to the cleaners to lose our best player.

2.) 20 Aug 2024 12:28:52
Seem to remember when first reported the fee was only £23.5m plus the add ons. Reports say we owe £4.2m still for some of the adds ons that weren't met.

If that's the case we paid somewhere around £27.7m best case or £29.2m if the initial fee was £25m.

3.) 20 Aug 2024 12:31:19
I should have said the fee Leeds paid was 25 mill!
No sell on clause which is great. Nice profit on the player.

4.) 20 Aug 2024 14:45:33
Indeed cork. More dosh in their pockets.

5.) 20 Aug 2024 15:26:23
That's good news then. Pocketed enough profit to buy a player or two outright.

Leeds should scout the academies and pick up an up and coming bargain.

6.) 20 Aug 2024 16:38:29
probably scout our own academy and pick up a freebie there.

01 Jul 2024 12:31:14
Rodon coming back to Leeds!
You hear me Baz?

CORKWHITE1

1.) 01 Jul 2024 13:06:03
Well IF so . Good news for Leeds . Happy to have got this one not quite correct ?.

2.) 01 Jul 2024 13:09:24
I'm hearing the same Corky.

3.) 01 Jul 2024 14:12:00
Fine details eh Baz, he either signs or he doesn’t, so you have a one in two chance of being right or wrong, you got it wrong, but in your eyes ? “Happy to not get this one not quite correct” what a balloon ? ?.

4.) 01 Jul 2024 14:37:03
Woody yes not quite correct lol ?.

08 Aug 2023 22:15:33
Have a feeling a new signing will be announced tomorrow and probably two.
Who wants a BABYSHAM!

CORKWHITE1

08 Feb 2023 12:40:25
The money is coming for Nuno Espírito Santo.
Backed in to 5s from 20s.

CORKWHITE1

1.) 08 Feb 2023 12:48:14
Ha as predicted by Sir Nostra Baz.

2.) 08 Feb 2023 13:16:49
Hope not. Prefer Spanish, Dutch and Argie first.

3.) 08 Feb 2023 14:13:29
Aus I would prefer the Spanish, Dutch and Argie first too

My prediction isn't based on my preferred choice but on the most realistic choice under this mediocre regime

Nuno is still more preferable than several others such as the Hassanthul and Gerrard.

4.) 08 Feb 2023 17:06:58
So, basically, if you put twenty quid on at 5/ 1, you lose twenty quid, right? ??.

5.) 08 Feb 2023 17:08:01
I’ve read more about Iraola now and tbh I don’t think he’s the type of coach we need. He’s similar to Bielsa in the way he likes to create a chaotic style to catch teams out. High intensity and high risk press. Personally I want us to move away from this style, it’s been sussed out now and teams beat the “traps” way too easily! We need someone to come in and stabilise, make us difficult to break down and let the attacking 4 have more freedom. No RB’s challenging in the attacking area and being caught out of position 15 times a game! Back to basics!

6.) 09 Feb 2023 20:55:22
If you look back I said both poch and Santo been interviewed and nobody seemed to believe me poch has turned us down but Santo is deciding just because papers saying all these others don't believe everything you read.

05 Dec 2022 20:28:37
Apparently Leeds have agreed to pay 10.5 million for the French flop. If true done well to get that deal as I think the court of arbitration said pay the full 21 million.

CORKWHITE1

1.) 06 Dec 2022 03:57:23
If indeed a negotiated settlement is true and at £10.5 million or less

some of which may have allegedly been covered by indemnity/ liability contract insurance

then a much better result.

2.) 06 Dec 2022 13:05:31
So what source is this' apparent £10.5 million rumour ' Jigster?

3.) 08 Dec 2022 09:20:24
Looks like we paying full whack plus interest but on better terms.

4.) 08 Dec 2022 17:54:05
Yeah read those articles Aus today

If true and likely it is
it would mean Bright and Corkster were not correct in their reduced settlement guess

and I was right all along again ? (just jesting fellas )

5.) 09 Dec 2022 07:05:41
How can he play for Basel if we paid for him?

{Ed001's Note - because you gave up his registration a long time ago. You are paying for his original transfer, nothing to do with where he is today.}

6.) 09 Dec 2022 10:32:40
Right. Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

06 Oct 2024 11:22:57
Jordan Hernderson anyone?
I'm not his biggest fan but is exactly what we need. Experience, leadership and organisational skills just what's lacking a little at ER.

CORKWHITE1

1.) 06 Oct 2024 12:03:02
Didn't know he was available.

2.) 06 Oct 2024 12:04:29
Yep. Def. Bit of an idiot but could do a job for us on and off.

3.) 06 Oct 2024 13:02:57
Think he could be an amazing player in the championship and has great experience to help younger players, not sure we could manage Bulgarian and scouse communications at the same time.

4.) 06 Oct 2024 13:35:59
Great shout that, read that earlier but not available till Jan apparently.

5.) 06 Oct 2024 13:54:46
He’d have to take a hefty wage cut, currently earning £110,000 per week at Ajax, Bamford is still our highest earner on £70,000.
It was reported he was picking up £350,000 per week in Saudi.
For me he carries too much media bagage and would be an unhealthy distraction for the club.

6.) 06 Oct 2024 14:45:51
Would be class at this level but can’t see wages complying with ffp.

7.) 06 Oct 2024 15:11:47
No chance and no thanks .

8.) 06 Oct 2024 15:38:07
Amps be back by Jan won't he. The issue is we need a DM now rather than Jan. Who knows what we look like by then. Probably best to reevaluate closer to the time.

9.) 06 Oct 2024 18:13:44
Please tell me your. mistaken Op? Bamford. on that money is un-farking -believable.

10.) 06 Oct 2024 19:26:38
Was thinking a January loan? He’s not getting much game time at Ajax.
I doubt very much a Dutch club is paying £110,000 a week.

11.) 06 Oct 2024 19:29:39
Gruev almost certainly gone for the season and Amps most likely February/ March until he’s fit.

12.) 06 Oct 2024 19:55:03
Think he was in the Prem, but every player had clauses in their contracts that saw them take a 40/ 50% pay cut once relegated.

13.) 06 Oct 2024 20:33:07
Correct Dill.

Bamford currently on £28K a week

Which is about £27K a week too much.

14.) 06 Oct 2024 22:35:01
You’ve changed your tune Baz…doesn’t seem that long ago (probably only 2000 of your posts? ) that the team couldn’t function without Bamford?

15.) 07 Oct 2024 00:43:37
Ani I was seduced a tad by the Tony Yeboahesque absloutely sublime wondergoal by Bamfordinho back in Jan 2024 and his run of goals in Jan, Feb and March 2024.

very sadly injury then struck yet again . and it really seems that is that for him now .

16.) 07 Oct 2024 08:09:16
Bamford was on 100K in the the Premiership it’s now dropped to 70K, his contract expires 2026.

17.) 07 Oct 2024 08:22:04
My mistake, was going by memory and mixed it up with Rodrigo’s which was 100K. Bamford’s was 74k but has taken a significant cut now in the Championship.

18.) 07 Oct 2024 10:34:19
Its ok OP we are very used to you getting very mixed up.

19.) 07 Oct 2024 13:27:43
Thats the Rodrigo that Orta the Oracle thought was a much better signing than Ollie Watkins when deciding between them ???.

20.) 07 Oct 2024 14:56:30
Cheers OP ? wasn't sure myself, just knew there were clauses when we got relegated but not amounts.

05 Oct 2024 13:27:46
The Mez howler has overshadowed one of the worst individual performances I've seen in a Leeds shirt when considering how much he cost.
Aaronson last night was genuinely appalling imo. Passing, shooting and awareness were terrible and TWICE he took the ball off another player who would have had a free shot and almost certain goal. He literally runs round in mini circles when on the ball!
I don't like putting down players but he was the only weak link last night, well up to the 96th minute anyway.

CORKWHITE1

1.) 05 Oct 2024 14:10:57
Slightly unfair corks. Aaronson has played nearly every minute of three tough games in 6 days. Yes he have quiet game last night. But he is always busy and never shirks his work.
Maybe if we had more bodies he would not have played last night.

2.) 05 Oct 2024 14:17:51
Corky totally agree pal
We need to just stop with Baracus he's shite, usual silliness pre season
Oh just you wait Baracus will be fire in champo this season

Fast forward to reality and he's himself yet again.

3.) 05 Oct 2024 14:19:18
I thought last night was great. We played away from home against a good team and we bosses them. We defended well, controlled the game, attacked scored two we was just one unlucky mistake away from winning that’s football

No need for the negativity in my book. I’ve been impressed with us this season.

4.) 05 Oct 2024 14:21:26
Yep it was by far BA least effective game this season

. but being balanced it must be stated he has been decent to good in the other 7 games or so . and with goals and assists

But. yep. Pablo Hernandez he is NOT.

5.) 05 Oct 2024 14:37:31
Greed Corky for most of the match it was a toss up who would get the early bath Aaronsen or Bogle. Aaronsen masks his imperfection with his workrate. He certainly runs around a lot, can't fault him there but in every area (apart from running) he just seems to fall short. Come next summer (or January) we can and must upgrade.

6.) 05 Oct 2024 15:52:14
I must have watched a different game corkie.

We were away to the top of the table with four main players out for injury, two midfielders who haven't played 90 minutes, or alongside oneanother and a knackered team.

Yet, we got a draw and they never looked like a threat. Aside from one unforgivable howler from Meslier, our broken, knackered, disorganised team played them off the park.

Come 80 minutes, the stadium of light was emptying. We've had worse games this season and this was one of our best.

I've slagged of Farke plenty over the past few weeks but even with how things ended, I haven't been more positive about this Leeds team since the start of the season.

7.) 05 Oct 2024 17:19:18
Could not agree more motagain great post.

8.) 05 Oct 2024 17:42:28
Mo I agree it was good performance never said otherwise. BA was certainly the weak link though. In fact he was a hindrance to the team. If you believe he was even average would shock me?

9.) 05 Oct 2024 18:04:29
BA had an average game but he didn't cost us the game or really slow us down. Maybe he should have been swapped for MJ or (I don't know who else? )

That said, the lad has ran his heart out for six games. Picking on his performance seems ?.

10.) 05 Oct 2024 18:15:15
Wasn't great last night, but he's been a been a big part of why the team has played well this season. He's a live wire and his pressing really helps us create turnovers in dangerous areas. Also played some nice through balls this season. 2 goals 1 assist isn't a bad return at all for 9 games either. Would put him at 10/ 5 G/ A for the season if he keeps it up, which I'd be happy with

I'll put last night down to fatigue given our recent schedule.

11.) 05 Oct 2024 23:34:17
Great post dill as always I agree 100%.

12.) 06 Oct 2024 01:26:35
you 100% always agree with Dill?

bless math not your strong point Berma . unless you've changed your mind on Meslier.

03 Oct 2024 23:13:24
Troy Deeney what a geezer. When asked who's the bigger club Man City or Leeds he replied Leeds United!

CORKWHITE1

1.) 04 Oct 2024 01:03:52
Firstly top man Troy Deeney for saying so .

AND

my immediate reaction is to say he is correct, what with me of course being a Leeds United fan from the 1960s and 1970s when Leeds United were definitely more successful than Citeh .

to be fair though City did have good managers, teams, players in the 60s and 70s and won the league, a couple of league cups, a Euro trophy from memory in that era

and in the 1990s up to early 2000s Leeds definitely bigger, better more successful than City

BUT

since 2004 up to now 2024 are Leeds United ( still) a bigger club than Man City? Maybe NOT anymore!

Citeh have a bigger 53000 stadium ( whether they have more fans than Leeds in the UK I am not so sure) .

BUT Man City record attendance was 84,569 albeit in 1934

Leeds United record attendance was 57,892 in 1967

Citeh owners completely smash Leeds United owners on wealth of course.

City of course currently have a much much better manager and players than Leeds United . ( Bielsa Pep comparisons would be close)

AND Citeh of course have far, far, far more success in winning trophies than Leeds in last 12 years or so .

(whether that huge considerable recent City trophy success of past 12 years or so gets tainted very severely by the charges they face one waits to find out this season. )

2.) 04 Oct 2024 03:58:40
Think Troy might be on the wacky.
Not even comparable. Chalk and cheese currently.

3.) 04 Oct 2024 07:50:20
In May 2024 Sky sports posted

The Ultimate 50 year average league rank

1st Liverpool
2nd Man U
3rd Arsenal
4th. spurs
5th. Everton
6th. Chelsea
7th. Villa
8th Man City
9th West Ham
10th Newcastle
11th Southampton
12th Leeds United

That includes just one of Revie seasons 73/ 74 .

A 60 year average with ALL of Revie seasons . Leeds would be a lot higher!

4.) 04 Oct 2024 08:03:40
All but 1 in the prem baz.

5.) 04 Oct 2024 17:14:52
Yes Aus, Leeds severely underachieving.

02 Oct 2024 22:09:21
Delighted for Villa this evening.
Top top manager.
If arsenal had kept him they'd have won the league by now imo.

CORKWHITE1

1.) 03 Oct 2024 00:10:48
Good result?.

2.) 03 Oct 2024 02:07:20
Cork I agree what a turn around for them have to give them credit.

3.) 03 Oct 2024 14:01:31
Great manager but don’t agree about arsenal comment for some reason he was not a good fit. Bit like Hecky at Leeds undoubtably Hecky is a good manager but it never clicked. Odd but sometimes in football these things happen.

4.) 03 Oct 2024 15:01:27
Berm How is Heck undoubtedly good when his managerial win % is yet to breach 40 after 273 games? Undoubtedly good would be minimum 45%.

5.) 03 Oct 2024 18:05:15
'The Heck is a great manager '. said no one ever. well except Berma . nuff said.

6.) 03 Oct 2024 18:06:57
Georgey best not to bedazzle Berma with facts and stats .

it might be too befuddling for him.

7.) 03 Oct 2024 20:42:18
Depends on many factors George not just win %. 40% for Leeds may not be great but for a team like Barnsley it could be substantially better. I believe he has won at least 2 promotions and some other silverware so could hardly be labelled a poor manager. There is more to management than one stat.

8.) 03 Oct 2024 20:54:12
Hecky undoubtedly did a great job at Barnsley and twiddledum and twelddledee both don’t think getting sheff utd promoted was a great achievement

Brilliant.

9.) 03 Oct 2024 22:18:17
38% win rate the " great ?' Heck . Prem clubs be queueing up for his services?

No Berma?

Preston and Barnsley indeed be his level.

10.) 04 Oct 2024 15:24:25
Berm Will you write a play about the injustice in Heck not getting the England ???????⚽️ job? You could title it "Bottom". Second thought, perhaps too close to home.

11.) 04 Oct 2024 17:04:14
Georgey, Berma has the Heck as 4th fave for England job.

Just behind Warnock, Big Sam and his all time fave, Neil Harris ?.

Good player though.
I’m probably wrong but not sure he’d suit our system?

I kinda agree Alf but what number 10 could we have got or were even in for? Hamer is a CM who’s actually been playing on the left this season and the Hungarian guy is a wide attacker.
Maybe Gnonto is the answer as I can see him scoring double figures this season from that position, probably twice as many as Rutter managed last season.

But you are right though. He’ll never become a top player until he learns to stop giving the ball away in his own half.
Numerous times last season he was guilty of losing the ball in dangerous areas and fortunately for us wasn’t always punished but in the EPL it’s a different story.,
