Leeds rumoured to be interested in extending DJ's contract.

MoTagain

1.) 24 Sep 2024 09:34:41
They should.

2.) 27 Sep 2024 06:52:07
That would depend what league we are in and when it runs out. If it helps get a better price then def but if we get promoted. We should sell. But we won’t sell cause no other mug will pay what we did for him. So we either got write it off or keep him when we are in the prem for some reason.

3.) 01 Oct 2024 22:24:48
deservedly so.

13 Sep 2024 12:20:12
Firpo rumoured to be looking at a move to la liga with real bettis interested, if Leeds don't renew his contract.

Would you renew? I certainly would. Even if he isn't at prem level next season, a big contract ensures a decent sale figure.

MoTagain

1.) 13 Sep 2024 13:53:04
Similar to Meslier . clubs don't want to pay transfer fees on Firpo.

He will leave as a free agent end of season.

2.) 13 Sep 2024 17:48:30
I'd try re-sign him, personally. With all the injuries and manager rotation at the club when he was last in the Prem, I think he might fancy another go at it.

3.) 13 Sep 2024 23:37:58
I think Firpo much more likely fancies the sunnier climate and possibly slightly slower tempo of other country's leagues Dill

He will be off next summer a free agent its a given.

4.) 14 Sep 2024 08:53:29
Agree with baz as he knows the target list of every club on the planet, if baz says no one wants them that’s good enough for me.

5.) 14 Sep 2024 09:23:06
I’d re-sign him too. He’s quite a strong character to have ridden the abuse, and come back stronger. His defending has improved a lot, and he is a threat going forward, with good link up play with those playing in front of him. Pops up with the odd goal too. If he then gets an opportunity to go elsewhere, get a fee, which is also in his own interests, and his agents!

6.) 14 Sep 2024 10:06:23
Eureaka fellas!

Finally a 100% spot on post from Berma.

7.) 14 Sep 2024 10:09:38
Brighteth on Firpo: ' his defending has improved a lot"

I must admit I leaked sone " wazz" upon reading that hilarity ??.

8.) 14 Sep 2024 15:34:35
Well, I think you’re the only one who can’t see a clear improvement then Bazil. Maybe you wazzed in yer own eyes?

9.) 14 Sep 2024 16:46:29
Baz ???????.

10.) 14 Sep 2024 17:44:10
The emoji agreement king is back…….

11.) 14 Sep 2024 18:42:05
Watch the game today Brighty and honestly ( key word) tell me he had a good game!

and that's at frigging woeful Champo level not EPL level fella

: improved a lot? . get a grip
Mr Hyperbole strikes again.

12.) 14 Sep 2024 19:10:34
Junior has simply found his level. He's a decent Championship standard LWB, but not LB. Let him depart on a free in the summer.

13.) 14 Sep 2024 20:39:42
Yet he was man of the match a couple of weeks ago.

14.) 14 Sep 2024 21:39:52
Yes you made that point yesterday against woeful Hull

Hyperbole and repetition Brighty.

15.) 14 Sep 2024 22:23:49
The only repetition is your use of the word hyperbole, of which there is none, showing your lack of understanding of a word you must’ve stumbled across in a word search in the daily mirror, and looked up, but subsequently forgot the meaning of.

16.) 14 Sep 2024 23:28:20
Again you'be made the same post before

And guess what it's still wrong.

17.) 15 Sep 2024 19:43:10
Depends what league we are in and what wages he is asking. He must be one of the Champs highest earners.

24 Aug 2024 13:56:28
From the rumours it sounds like another two signings will be coming in.

With how few names are being passed about, are the next two deals being done in the utmost secrecy? Will they be two, big unexpected names?

MoTagain

1.) 24 Aug 2024 14:47:53
I’m pretty sure there will be something unexpected. It wouldn’t be Leeds if there wasn’t!

2.) 24 Aug 2024 16:15:14
Aarons and Mejbri?

3.) 24 Aug 2024 17:11:40
Salomon medical supposedly underway right now, so he ain’t the surprise!

08 Aug 2024 14:23:50
Rumours that Gnonto will be sold on the final day.
Everton bid 23 mil which we rejected.
Anyone heard owt?

MoTagain

1.) 08 Aug 2024 16:55:01
Who picks a specific day someone's going to sign, unless it's a pre contract like Mbappe did because he was a free agent. Doesn't sound right to me that, mate.

2.) 08 Aug 2024 17:59:45
Don’t think we will sell anyone on the final day, but I’ve been wrong before.
I can understand people worrying about it, but as for a rumour that it’s actually going to happen, it’s a bit too specific for me!

3.) 08 Aug 2024 18:10:45
Reeks of bull and why tne final day which would suck also

Keep it quiet from Woody.

4.) 08 Aug 2024 19:54:56
Glad to hear it's shot down. I would rather we keep Gnonto but if he goes, he goes.

5.) 09 Aug 2024 07:50:11
I’m definitely in the camp of keeping Gnonto at all costs tbh. I think he has the ability to return better figures playing on the left than Cree did last season.

6.) 09 Aug 2024 12:11:55
Gnonto possibly sold before the final day.
I wonder what the odds are for a final day sale.

7.) 10 Aug 2024 14:34:44
Would have thought it would be obvious to b e sold then pocket the money and maybe come up with a loanee if we r lucky
Happened with similar last season.

25 Jul 2024 12:25:53
Poveda has signed with Sunderland.

MoTagain

1.) 25 Jul 2024 14:19:03
The lad has undoubted talent. IF he can translate that onto pitch with assists and goals. well.

BUT. so far he hasnt.

2.) 25 Jul 2024 16:05:00
He can and has looked lively, skilful and capable, but only very, very sporadically. No loss to us, but I do think he will come good one day. Great character too. Hope he does well there, and they let us have Jack Clarke back!?

3.) 26 Jul 2024 03:46:41
Poveda more than twice as many games for Leeds than Leif Davis had. You aren't going to kick off about him leaving in three years are ya, Baz? ?.

4.) 26 Jul 2024 08:40:15
Dill I informed you previously of the facts of timing when I actually " kicked off " re LD .

Hey ho.

5.) 26 Jul 2024 09:46:00
I'm sure he will Dill.

6.) 26 Jul 2024 10:07:46
Just having a laugh mate.

Klopp has taken a role as global head of football at Red Bull.

He will be working in the background to assist red bull coaches.

Klopp to be next Leeds manager?

MoTagain

1.) 09 Oct 2024 13:23:22
Is Farke categorized as an "RB coach" in light of RB only currently being a minority investor?

2.) 09 Oct 2024 15:26:15
Currently a minority owner. Currently.

05 Oct 2024 21:51:49
Among the criticism of Mes and the finger pointing of fatigued players I would like to congratulate Farke for his in-game management.
He played it perfectly. Subs were well timed and impactful (MJ looked a little disheartened but he pressed) . Bellingham was mogged in the second half and the defensive, possessive play that stopped Sunderland in their tracks was masterful.

Farke has done a lot wrong this season. Last night was him on top form. Credit where credit is due.

MoTagain

1.) 05 Oct 2024 23:15:50
Would like to have seen Schmidt earlier, but all in all I thought the subs were good. Joseph helped alleviate that spell of pressure second half by occupying defenders and being a mobile outlet to help the ball stick a bit more. We were seeing the game out perfectly until the mistake of Meslier.

2.) 05 Oct 2024 23:30:05
As you all know I’m a huge fan of farke and think he has done wonders since being leeds boss. The last two results have been blows but the performances have been very good under the circumstances.

3.) 06 Oct 2024 00:57:01
I would say Farke has not done a lot wrong the start of this season, he’s just finding his way to what works best.

4.) 06 Oct 2024 13:46:42
All substitutions been spot on for you opti?

5.) 06 Oct 2024 14:48:16
Aus all of our subs have been from our bench and that’s the problem with championship football farke has to pick from the likes of bamford and joffy or run out first team into the ground.

04 Oct 2024 22:41:29
not to defend meslier, but, he did receive a head injury twenty minutes before the end.

I hope in the furor he gets checked out to make sure there isn't brain damage. No joking about, totally serious.

MoTagain

1.) 04 Oct 2024 22:50:26
In rugby union, he woulda had to go off for an assessment.

2.) 04 Oct 2024 23:26:14
That save he made in first half was world class. Then sky showed a stat of keepers in the league mes topped it. Again it was a stat not opinion.

3.) 05 Oct 2024 02:35:58
If it was head. He shoulda taken himself off. You know team play. Not selfish git play.

4.) 05 Oct 2024 08:46:00
Given it was a head knock, the medical staff shouldn’t have given him the option to play on. It is the third incident in three matches in which our meds have checked out a player then allowed them to play on when they really shouldn’t have - both Ampadu and Gruev may have worsened their knee injuries by staying on.

04 Oct 2024 00:31:16
Gruev is out long term with a knee injury on his meniscus. He will have surgery over the next few days and will be reassessed.

Gruev has been a rock solid player in midfield and when we lost him last season, we hit a bad run of form.

Charlie crew will have a time to shine.

MoTagain

1.) 04 Oct 2024 03:54:16
Yeah. Gruev as much a miss as amps.
Not ideal. Need to spend in jan in reinforcements.
Hope the youngsters can come in and do a job when needed. Don’t think Roth is a reliable starter. We shall see.

2.) 04 Oct 2024 05:22:33
Not the Bulgarian I wanted injured. ?.

3.) 04 Oct 2024 06:41:35
Gonna be a miss with no fit, dedicated DM in the squad. I don't think we should've bought another DM in the summer, so not going to complain about that. You simply can't account for two long term injuries to players in the same position. However, it does raise the question of why are we playing BOTH of our ONLY TWO DMs every game if we have no back up for either? Have thought all along, as have others, that we should've been playing one 6 and one 8. Obviously will never know now, but seems like we may have mitigated or avoided this situation by using a 6 and an 8 so we had back up for either position. I digress.

I think Crew is very capable, but it's certainly a big ask to expect him to do that job and do it reliably until Jan considering he's barely had any minutes in first team footy and he's a different profile to Gruev and Amps. I do think if push comes to shove, we can use hin there, though.

Smart move would be obviously to give Crew more minutes going forward but also bring in a free agent. Cristoph Kramer, who Farke managed at Monchengladbach, is being talked about. Very experienced with 10 years at the club. Another would be Cheickou Kouyate, who left Forest in the summer.

Whatever happens this decision needs to be right as we are in a pretty tricky spot right now in terms of squad depth.

4.) 04 Oct 2024 07:27:10
Gruev and Amps out

But no top 2 excuses

Farke and available players need to ensure they get at least a draw tonight at Sunderland

And

Beat Sheff Utd at home game after.

5.) 04 Oct 2024 08:15:01
Kramer would be useful, if nothing else he could set an example to Crew.

6.) 04 Oct 2024 10:57:43
You’d hope Kramer would be up for working with Farke again. Farke has said he doesn’t like to bring in free agents in October as it takes so long to get them fit and integrated in the squad, but if Kramer’s been keeping himself in shape in hope of being signed on a free, Farke May feel more comfortable bringing him in due to his familiarity with the tactics etc. with his height, Kramer could also cover at CB if absolutely needed, having played 4 full games there before, including once for Farke at Monchengladbach.

It would seem much more risky not to bring in a free agent to strengthen the cover. If someone was to come in this weekend and had kept fit enough they’d have an outside chance of being in v Blades after almost two weeks clear just training. As things are, Tanaka would seem likely to be required to play at least 70 mins after fairly minimal recovery time from a game v Australia and flight from Japan - leaving him more susceptible to getting injured too. The Blades game would also be a very tricky one for Crew to be thrown into for his first competitive first team appearance.

7.) 04 Oct 2024 12:03:55
Dill, I’d agree that we could not reasonably have expected the Club to bring in another DM in the summer, but it would perhaps have been sensible to bring another right sided CB who also had experience of playing at DM, rather than having Amps, as one of only two DMs, being first choice cover at RCB.

Of course Farke may have had it in mind to transition into having only one DM, and it’s frustrating that with Tanaka seemingly being worked towards being in the starting 11, we may well have transitioned after the forthcoming international break. Had Tanaka been signed much earlier in the window, Farke would have been able manage workload better and possibly avert the current crisis.

8.) 04 Oct 2024 14:12:04
Agree with baz not having our first choice starting pair in midfelid is not excuse

Any team is this weak leauge could cope with that.

9.) 04 Oct 2024 15:04:17
Berma . losing EA and IG sucks ( much like your KP and Bielsa posts) .

But it is what it is

A competent manager still gets LUFC up.

10.) 04 Oct 2024 15:16:23
Question for Berma

Berma if/ when it doesn't work out with Farke

I guess you would be very content with ( tne " great" ) Paul Heckingbottom as Farke's eventual successor.?
.

11.) 04 Oct 2024 15:53:14
Every other team has at least 25 in their squads - we have just 23. We are particularly light at CB and DM/ CM, critical positions to establish control of the central battleground. We have just 7 in total when all fit, amongst our like rivals Burnley have 12, Blades 10, Sunderland 11, Boro 11 and Baggies 10. We are ridiculously exposed to injuries in those combined positions - so in that respect we can’t be considered to be like ‘any team’ who should cope with the injuries we face. Not forgetting that Rodon has been struggling with various knocks over the last few weeks and Struijk is still more or less returning from a long lay-off with injury.

12.) 04 Oct 2024 23:15:35
Anyone who has named 25 players cannot recruit a free agent. A free agent can only play if they can be placed in a squad. That might be why some teams have “spaces. ”.

02 Oct 2024 09:32:40
That ref, Steve (Martin? ) needs investigating. That was a blatant penalty, Gnonto was in his right to protest.
Same manager refused us a penalty last season when we was looking straight at a foul on (Rodon? )

Insane bias shown. They hacked us down with nothing and sometimes we were given the yellow. Madness

Bad subs by Farke, even if his list of possible subs is dwindling rapidly. Bringing on Piroe is fine, but not when you've taken the opportunity makers off of the pitch.

Mes saves 1 in 20 penalties lol

Still, a point is a point.

MoTagain

1.) 02 Oct 2024 10:18:27
Agree regarding the Ref, he was awful last night. It looked a penalty then when I got home and saw it on TV, it was a penalty for me. We were the best side for three quarters of the game, but the substitutions didn't work and we lost our way in the last 15 minutes. Another worrying injury for Gruyev, and we need James and Solomon to get fit quickly. On another point, I wonder if there are any free agents around who could do a job for us. Maybe Dill can answer that one with his knowledge of players.

2.) 02 Oct 2024 10:47:38
I’m Available on a free lufc.
At 62 prob still out run Bambi and piroe.
And was voted player of the year when I was a goalie at 10yrs old so pretty sure I can save more pens than mez.

3.) 02 Oct 2024 11:58:43
Was thinking the very same thing about looking at free agents Feath, there was an article circulating yesterday throwing some midfielders names around (E. g., Besic - Everton/ Boro most recently) but you’re right in that Dil may have more in depth knowledge of who is available and more importantly worth pursuing.

I think if Gruev is out long term they may explore the free agents route and I think it’s one they seriously should consider.

Charlie Crew is a fantastic prospect but think he needs a loan season first, this is a tough bruising league as BA is regularly finding out and our bench looks lightweight in more ways than one, particularly when six key players are already out of the team.

Joffy can hold his own he’s a solid little beggar but we are in danger of being bullied in games especially with Amps out for so long…. and even then there’s no guarantee that rest will fix amps and that could be a season long miss!

I really hope it’s not the case but we need more strength l, and again, in more ways than one.

Injuries are no excuse though, it’s up to any coach and the relevant board to mitigate against promotion being jeopardised through injuries.

4.) 02 Oct 2024 15:42:29
Does anyone know who was the last player we signed on a free?

5.) 02 Oct 2024 17:29:09
Byram?

Agree Brighty.
The tactical versatility along will be brilliant.

Tanaka feeding balls to Joseph, arranson, gnonto/ ramazani or James/ Solomon will be fun to watch.

I'm excited to see what we look like when we return in September. It's going to be fun.

Genuine question for the football eggheads; why do we need another midfielder?

We have Gruev, Rothwell, arranson and amperdu. Is it for extra cover incase people move around in the formation?

We will pump Sheffield utd. Leeds' biggest opponents so far have been Leeds.

No other clubs has played well against us. Burnley, Norwich, Sunderland, all played pap, we just weren't on form. When we find out rhythm - which we are not far off, the other teams will get walked off the park.

Our out of form B team emptied the league leader's stadium on the 80 minute mark.

BA had an average game but he didn't cost us the game or really slow us down. Maybe he should have been swapped for MJ or (I don't know who else? )

That said, the lad has ran his heart out for six games. Picking on his performance seems ?.
