What are the chances of Kalvin Phillips returning to Leeds?
He didn't leave on bad terms, has been shafted at man city, lost his England place and is now wondering the premier league.

We could afford him, they want to sell him, he wants to come back.

What's the sticking point?

Wages.

2.) 23 Jun 2024 03:52:00
Ability. He’d have to be at his old best to get in 11.

3.) 23 Jun 2024 07:28:04
Citeh want £30m for him. That’s a start.

4.) 23 Jun 2024 07:48:43
Chances of KP coming back to play for LUFC? Fat and zero

the same level of chance as the Aussies winning the T20 Cricket World Cup. humbled last night by little Afghanistan . there there Aus lmao :)

5.) 23 Jun 2024 08:16:04
They want 30 I would offer 15 he damaged goods now .

6.) 23 Jun 2024 08:52:38
Do we really want back a player that only managed 2 half seasons in his last two full seasons with us and hasn't played regular football since? Don't fancy adding another player who's susceptible to injuries/ fitness issues. Already have enough of those. And 46 games a season is a proper slog with two game a week. He'd literally break.

Move on.

7.) 23 Jun 2024 11:58:14
Agree dill. It didn’t work out for him but we got some good dosh for him.

8.) 23 Jun 2024 12:18:14
Cashed out at the perfect time, Aus.

9.) 24 Jun 2024 19:42:47
We couldn't afford him.

The footballer formerly known as Prince is being eyed up by Brighton. £30 million + a player is their offer.

1.) 18 Jun 2024 14:54:04
Haven’t read about the plus player element previously Mo, but Brighton have some very good young players in which to choose from.

We all knew if we didn’t win the playoff game we would be forced to recoup significant monies £90-£150 million due on Andreas Italian Express credit card allegedly.

Nobody really knows the exact figure but whilst the red bull deal will help, personally, I would take £30 mill plus a decent player for Cree who really served us extremely well, but went missing at the end of last season and may find epl full backs a very different proposition, but I wish the young man every success, wherever he goes.

Also, nobody seems definitively clear of what failing to meet the profit and sustainability bar will actually mean?

Loss of points, fines, both?

Foxes were to be penalised upon their return to the division? Watch Leeds United become the first team the championship board sanction.

It’s a tricky conundrum as failing to meet the regulations by keeping your best players may be the lesser of the two evils.

Still believe there’s plenty of very good players in the football pyramid, and with the right coaching are very capable of getting us promoted this season, reasons to be cheerful, part 3.

2.) 18 Jun 2024 17:54:56
I’d read it was a straight £35m “opening” offer.

3.) 18 Jun 2024 18:10:26
This is all gossip/ rumours but.

Our financial situation isn't as bad as some are saying, as the supposed £140 million we need to raise doesn't account for the players we've sold from last year, loan deals that have turned into sales (Adams, llorente iirc) and what we made this year. Apparently, we only need to raise £40 million. Take that with a huge grain of salt.

Somerville is a great player, but he isn't a Leeds player and I don't see him as a Leeds lad. He's done great and I hope him all the best in the future, but our best players are those who are proud to wear the shirt; James, Rutter, Amperdu, cooper, bamford etc.

Red Bull deal is apparently worth £60 million but that's a 'fat Dave down the pub' rumour.

As for this coming season, Red Bull will not allow Leeds to not be promoted. The suits are here, the beans have been counted and promotion is a must.

We have a great set of players and I would prefer to see younger talent; creswell, crew, Joseph, geldhardt, be given more game time and a chance to develop. At worst, we lose little, at best, they become superstars and help us, or we can sell them for big money.

You're right, Leicester are supposedly going to penalised this season, along with the rest and maybe Man City. I reckon a 15 point deduction as a minimum for Leicester.

4.) 18 Jun 2024 18:31:07
MOT

' Red Bull will not allow Leeds to not be promoted? ' you say again

How Red Bull going to guarantee that as minority owners ?

If Redbull were majority owners pretty sure DF would no longer be coach.

5.) 18 Jun 2024 18:33:40
Brighton insisted that Ben White would not be sold for under £50 million

Hope Leeds tell Brighton to do one unless they offer at least £60 million .

would not sell CS to Brighton. other clubs will be after him too.

6.) 18 Jun 2024 18:45:08
According to a recent report I read yesterday, we owe around £100m. But then we have the sales of Adams and Sini which contribute towards it, so subtract £43m from that £100m, plus the Red Bull deal helping us. Means we aren't as bad financially as first thought, although plenty worse off than had we gone up.

Would take £35m for Cry, or would take £30 plus season loan for Tariq Lamptey. He'd be a really good attack-minded, overlapping right back, with plenty of Prem experience. He's not started much at all last season. We severely lacked a forward thinking outlet at right back last season. Would work great with Rutter playing inside forward and Lamptey overlapping, providing us width down the right.

7.) 18 Jun 2024 18:51:49
CORRECTION: it said we owe £73.6m this summer, minus the £43 for Adams and Sini. So around £30m. Much more pleasing to the eye is that figure.

8.) 18 Jun 2024 19:53:12
@Baz

Red Bull and co stand to make a substantial amount of money from a Leeds promotion. Add to that the revenue if that money is invested in our Prem team to get eyes on Leeds. A bigger capacity stadium, shirt sales, licensing. it's a lot of wonga.

RB have made some big waves on the continent and, unless a lawyer can correct me, RB could host RB Salzburg at Leeds, and visa versa, for 'friendlies' raking in more cash.

I can't recall Leeds having the backing of this size, or any club for that matter (RB deal is meant to be biggest in EFL history. )

In short, the business must make money, come hell or high water, and it will. We have the fans, the passion and the team. If we fall down on tactics, managers will be replaced post-haste.

And if we want to enter the realms of fantasy land, maybe halaand will join Leeds and/ or, we can bribe the refs more than the other clubs!

9.) 18 Jun 2024 22:40:28
MOTagain I wish Redbull were already majority owners . they make every football club they own uber successful and have a great record in F1.

10.) 18 Jun 2024 22:59:04
Red Bull majority shareholder has a lot of ramifications on the history of the club. I’m not sure supporting RB Leeds at the Red Bull Arena (Leeds) would go down well with the fan base?

11.) 18 Jun 2024 22:59:04
Spot on, Baz.

12.) 19 Jun 2024 00:07:22
Don’t think cre will go to Brighton. Would imagine he wants European football with either prem team or team in Europe. Not much of a step up to go to Brighton.

13.) 19 Jun 2024 00:16:25
Brockley I am sure there would be little to zero 'historical ramifications ' .

There would be NO reset of Leeds United past history

The club colours would NOT change from white to red although many younger Leeds fans are still super ignorant that Leeds had Red kits in past and need to get over their ignorance on so many things!

The naming rights of the stadium would be a suitable compromise I am sure

The bottom line it all depends on Leeds United fans AMBITIONS AND PRAGMATISM I suppose . for me I want to see a very successful Leeds United club once again before I meet my maker . it ain't happening ever again WITHOUT pragmatism and acceptance of fans re ownership of say the Red Bull powerhouse uber successful multi bilions expertise. in business in football.

14.) 19 Jun 2024 08:31:17
Stadium could be renamed for me, no problems. It would still have the same address! I don’t believe the other Bulls had such high profile names, so Leeds United won’t change ever!
Agree Aus, but Brighton are more than welcome to start the bidding war in my books!

15.) 19 Jun 2024 08:58:35
Red Bull could capitalise on their purchase of Leeds by introducing a White bull flavour/ variant.
Maybe similar to vanilla coke or crystal Pepsi, just more popular.

16.) 19 Jun 2024 12:20:07
Brighton are a team who can spend money pretty freely this summer when most other big clubs are juggling to satisfy PSR, so wouldn't rule it out Aus. Actually think it would be a good move for him rather than a top 6. Personally, I don't think he's at the level to start for a top 6 currently, so would likely be getting participation minutes and slowing his progression.

17.) 19 Jun 2024 13:28:47
I do think that if Red Bull were the majority shareholder, the name of the team would change to incorporate Red Bull, which I wouldn’t be in favour of. They are a global marketing machine and only interested in growing the brand and generate sales.
Wouldn’t be a fan of a stadium name change, but if that guarantees success, I will have to give it more thought.

18.) 19 Jun 2024 14:06:24
If Brighton fail in their transfer pursuit, one of his old tracks ? could be re-released and renamed "When Seagulls Cry ?".

19.) 19 Jun 2024 14:09:28
I don’t think he sees the same dill. Bit conceited. Thinks he deserves the best now.
He will go to a team playing in Europe.
He might not have an impact at all but no way Jose it’s Brighton. Agree bright. Let the games begin.

20.) 19 Jun 2024 16:08:44
Only my opinion, I think if RB took overall control at ER, they wouldn't be stupid enough to expect their name to feature for the team or ground. Personally, I wouldn't be as opposed to the ground being Red Bull ER if it resulted in more substantial amounts of cash injected, but under no circumstances absolutely no change to the name LEEDS UNITED.

21.) 19 Jun 2024 17:18:19
Yh you're right about him probably feeling he's ready tho, Aus. Sadly he will be mistaken.

Another season on loan. I hope they sell him for good. We don't need him back when we get back into the premier.

What's the rules around a company swapping players between clubs that they own?

I'm sure there's something stopping them from selling players at a loss/ profit to balance books and rules?

Could RB Salzburg buy Bamford for 75 million, the year before he retires, to help RB balance the books at (RB) Leeds united?

Farke not utilising his subs; James, Roberts, Joseph, geldhardt, creswell, crew, when using the same old team wasn't working, shows he has a lack of flexibility.

Towards the end of the season, Summerville had been figured out, he was man marked by two defenders the majority of the time and Farke did little to change how we attack or how we play.

Remember when Rutter and Piroe were played out of position and Farke refused to change?
Call me unfair but I don't rate the guy as a manager and I think he will be gone by Xmas.

Should have taken Gray with the squad. A talented youngster like him may have put a firework up the arse of the media-defended old hacks.

Fair play to GS for using subs early though. Take note, Farke.
