Leeds also linked with Rochdale striker Scott Hogan. if this is true. Hogan, Bentley, Agard. all div 2 & 1 players. mixed in with Cagliari players we've been linked with, is this the way were going?. sounds like square pegs in round holes.
1.) I am hoping for 4 or 5 quality signings and to be fair based on his management of Cagliari did think we would build a young team around them. I Don't expect Massimo to spend millions either and he does seem to bring players through his academy and sell them on to finance things. So I expected a similar scenario for us but Div 1 and 2 strikers not for me. Look at Naki Wells he looked on fire at Bradford but stepped up a div against championship defenders looks like a first former on his first day at big School! MOT
2.) Couple of players from Italy is fine by me (midfield maybe), add a couple of young quick (ideally strong types with a bit of height) from lower leagues (winger/defender types) with potential so that not much cost so far, a centre half who knows how to defend/lead ideally an older head who has been around and then spend on 1 quality player (fwd or fwd thinking advanced midfielder type), don't need to spend loads, we don't have it anyway.
Get solid CH + pace in midfield/wide another quick lean strong forward to help Ross and if we learn how to pass a bit more we then have the makings of a potential top 6 team without spending loads bearing in mind at least 9-10 -11 players will leave in summer
3.) Well DG I do agree to a certain extent. 2 wingers who cross a decent ball and a CH who can bring a ball out of defence with confidence, who can command a back 4. and someone who can lead from midfield.someone with vision, someone who understands the game!

Weve been linked with Rotherham winger Keiran Agard who is out of contract at the end of the season.
1.) Good signing that. Looks decent and on a free. 24 means no compo too
2.) I think at this time of the season we will be linked with every tom, dick and Harry given the circumstances of us have a rich new owner and him promising a massive clear out. Best to just wait until the deals are done and dusted before we get too carried away. I would personally hope we would be setting sights higher than players from lower divisions although I appreciate smith did well stepping up but let's look at top quality young internationals.
3.) I agree Martyn. We should maybe be looking for better players than this - I'm not against developing young players from other clubs, but we need to set our sights high. If we want promotion we need a team that can survive the first year in the premier league with the bulk of the championship squad still there - it's what Southampton and Crystal Palace have both done. We can't afford to get promoted and then buy a new side.
4.) I think these lower league players are players that BMc and his team are looking at as he is yet to meet MC and discuss transfer budget/targets.
Would be surprised if MC has any knowledge of these rumoured signings.
I don't think MC will spend huge amounts on players though and am very interested to see who the first signing will be as this will either excite or probably disappoint the majority of posters.
5.) I think the first signing we make will tell us a lot about how serious Massimo, s ambitions are about gaining promotion. I have a good feeling he's passionate about making us
6.) Tabenali will be the first signing.

According to Cellinos son (Eduardo) who was chatting on . Ibarbo, Astori, Adryan. could be moving to Leeds in the summer.
1.) I hope this is true because these are the calibre of players we need not as been's from the premier league or nobody's from the lower league's. Massimo will bring some quality players in because he is detirmind to get us back to the premier league and back to the glory days.
2.) We've got to have some incredibly gullible (or delusional?) fans to believe that Italian internationals are going to come to the Championship and that Cellino will give £11m rated players to Leeds for free.
3.) Adryan is Brazilian/Portuguese don't think he's even played international football, Ibarbo is columbian, and astori is 9m rated not 11. Why would he not want to give players to his new club before he sells on and offer them the potential of playing in the prem league still regarded widely as the best league in the world under a chairman they have being working with at a 5000 seat stadium. You say it like it's a step down.
4.) Adryan is on loan at Cagliari so he's not even their player! Ibarbo and Astori seem unlikely but money talks. We have a 40k stadium to their 5 and they have a good free shot at playing in the premier league.
5.) We're in the Championship not the PL and just because we may spend loads of money it doesn't guarantee promotion. Astori was linked with Roma and Manchester United and is likely to be Italy's WC squad, but you believe he will want to play Championship football next year? Get real. How would we even afford his wages at that level? We may have a 40k stadium, but when was the last time we actually had 40k at Elland Road?
6.) Ibarbo maybe. But Astori? Don't think so. He has some real class. If Cellino gives us 20mil ibarbo would be about a third of that at least. We don't need a star player we need a team.
7.) When was the last time we had international calibre players? If we had these three plus McCormack and another couple of midfielders then we'd get 40k. We might even go up at the first attempt thus giving them prem football
8.) There is always talk of exciting signings just before season tickets go on sale

Leedss trying to sign Emyr Huws from Man City on season long loan as from next season, currently with Birmingham, and a full Welsh international at only 20.
1.) NOT the type of player we need. We ll get him and he'll be terrible like Wickham, Vokes, Livermoore, Bannan, Smith, Mcsheffrey.
We need experience, Micheal Doyle / Jonathan Douglas type players.

According to the guardian, Cellino has lost his court case for tax evasion, although his lawyers have appealed against the judgement.
1.) The case was lost and appealed earlier this year, the FL were waiting for the wording of the judges decision

2.) We should be aiming for better for sure, he is OK but no more by all accounts, average type.
Brian M can't be here for the revamp of us, in my opinion his tactics and decision making in a game are poor and he plays players out of position. Worst of all he keeps changing back to things that have not worked before for him and he expects different results? That is the classic sign of madness i.e. keep doing the same things and expecting a different result.
Sure MC will let him go, he has had his chance and I don't see the above changing even if we got better players in.

Come on guys that's a bit unfair! Just because he is a defender it does not mean BMD will play him as one!
4.) If this rumour is true (and it is not forced to be) it would speak volumes about our current manager. Relegated clubs can have a few gems i.e. Adomah from Bristol City however these gems tend to be in attack and midfield. If you have a team that has finished bottom it tends to be because you have a poor defence therefore to try and snap up one of these "quality" players shows a total lack of ambition. Also as the player is not better than what we currently have which suggests that Brian wants to continue with our current defence because he believes that they are good enough and will prove us all wrong. The man is utterly deluded and should not be given the opportunity to saddle us with sub-standard journey men
5.) You have a valid point and I agree that we should be aiming for better quality players. Having said that you can have the best defence in the world, but if your Midfield and Forwards are poor quality, you are always going to let in goals. The problem with this Leeds team as I see it, is that we have an abundance of related problems, poor quality throughout the team, players being played out of position, players not looking like they give a damn, continuous rotation of players, poor tactics, no plan b.
The behind the scenes events must have been an issue, to a degree, but I will never accept players not playing for the shirt. There are thousands who turn up to watch Leeds who didn't make it as pro' players and they would give there last breadth to wear the shirt and play for Leeds United.
Ive watched and supported Leeds since 1970 and this team is without doubt, in my opinion, the worst shower of ***** that has collectively worn the Leeds shirt.
Shame on you.

Coopers contract ends at the end of this coming season, then we can have him for nothing, that's the plan.
