Wiedwald apparently a done deal. On his way for a medical. I know his stats don't look great but, often a keeper is only as good as the defence in front of him and by all accounts Werder Bremen's defence last season consisted of 10 players in the opposition half.

Hope he doesn't come in as our number 1 Green was outstanding last season a real leader from the back really kept his box organised and calm.

2.) 29 Jun 2017 12:47:06
Sorry but if you can get in a team at the top level of German football then you can certainly get in a team in the championship, if he does sign then he has to be number 1. I like green but he's not the same level as him.

3.) 29 Jun 2017 13:11:04
Bit torn actually. Green was good after a while last season I would start with green. But he would have to start how he finished last season or out he goes.

4.) 29 Jun 2017 17:28:33
Green was good last year but definitely cost us the 6 points that would have seen us in the playoffs.

5.) 29 Jun 2017 18:24:45
Haha blame the gk for the 6 lost points lol couldn't be the poor all round performance noo

6.) 30 Jun 2017 11:16:09
Individual errors don't happen in football. Is this what you are saying. Green last season made individual errors that definitely cost us points. There's no denying it

7.) 30 Jun 2017 19:31:04
What Pontus jansson didn't cost us any points? Lol it's a team game you can't blame the gk who has saved a lot of points for Leeds.

Elland Road to be purchased early November. Stadium purchase is excluded from FFP (purchase of fixed, depreciable assets are not counted).
Oh and on the FFP transfer embargo rubbish; an embargo would begin 1st Jan 2015 and last until club can demonstrate it is fiscally sound. So, presumably if Harvey is determined, he can stop us buying and selling players for a whole day. However, it is still possible Leeds may get fined, although, given where the business is now, compared with 12 months ago, it could be argued that such a fine is unnecessarily punitive. So says a chap I know at t'FA - we were both drunk, mind.

CityWhite

1.) The fa will use any excuse to punish leeds its been going on for at least 45 years,

2.) MC knows exactly what he is doing, a business man as rich and savvy as him does not spend money lightly & buying back the stadium is all part of proving Leeds are heading back into financial stability. The FA can hate us all they want, they cannot however argue with figures in black & white showing the club is now clearly being managed correctly. don't think MC is too bothered about the FA afterall he is 1-0 up on them already. MOT

3.) City
Drunken chat about leeds that's my kinda night, loved to have been a fly on the wall lol

4.) Believe it or not; not everyone hates us. Some people are (and I know this is going to be tough for anyone to even contemplate but. ) some people, even in the FA, are actually. now make sure you're sitting down for this. some people are. indifferent towards us!
'Came as a shock to me, too.
It's just a shame that the media enjoy portraying both fans and club negatively.
For instance; Cellino gets referred to as 'controversial Leeds chairman', whilst Oyston at Blackpool doesn't even get an adjective.

5.) Seems that M c himself has noticed how certain media portrays him, hence when was the last time he spoke to Sky!
Every one seems to have an opinion on Leeds ex-players etc in regards to M C, and ok he dropped the ball when he assigned the coaches job to D H .
But the hope we have winning games without certain squad players, unknown foreign players, actually doing very well and becoming favourites, the future for once is starting to look bright, a young squad yes, an improving squad yes, sound finances yes .
How many years has it been?

6.) Just thought, I know we are being hit for ffp as GFH ran the club with such large debts. Currently David Haigh is sat in a prison for false invoicing and the auditors at Leeds resigned a week or so back. If Leeds united are a victim of fraudulent crime would this amount (not sure if its big or small) be taken into consideration. If not I can imagine possible legal action from the club. Its been a while since we had a court case.

Anyone heard anything about O'Kane or Buoy?

I know we're unlikely to get any cash for them.

A man in Thirsk has openly admitted to being the only person who rates the opinion of Noel Whelan, although even he thinks Dion Dublin is a better qualified former Coventry striker to have an opinion on Leeds United.

I can't stand reading what the absolute Leeds legend has to offer.

2.) 19 Jul 2019 22:52:36
I like him 😉.

Pontus Jansson's magic.
He wears a magic hat.
And if you offer half his worth we'll sell you his contract.
We turned down nearly double.
We thought that half was right and when we sell all our other defenders. we think we'll be alright.

Sorry but we're letting players go for suspiciously little, in the current market. I don't care what the circumstances are, there's a valuation that needs meeting. OK, Saiz with his court cases, bite any hand that offers a crumb but, Jansson and Clarke were both horrifically undersold.

27 Oct 2017 21:59:43
bench Lassoga. Play Jansson up front. At least he'd win some headers. like a centre forward

CityWhite

1.) 27 Oct 2017 22:31:40
can't they at least find a shirt to fit lassoga?

2.) 27 Oct 2017 22:35:09
We won't get promoted playing this style of football. Our defence is poor, constantly caught out of position and we paying the price for not buying a decent centre half to partner PJ. Alioski seems very average, lassoga lazy at times and poor in the air. Hope Iam wrong but unless we strengthen in next transfer window we will be a mid table team this season

03 Oct 2017 12:01:32
Plan B. Anita or Klich in a holding central midfield role in front of the defence, moving to a 4-5-1 without the ball / 4-3-3 with, away from home when we're getting overrun in midfield.

CityWhite

1.) 03 Oct 2017 15:04:17
Think that's what i said below.

2.) 03 Oct 2017 20:49:11
What about a 1_0_9_1, that'll confuse em

3.) 04 Oct 2017 00:48:46
As long as wield ain't the 1.

Calm down, folks. Hopefully TC learned a lot from that game. Fair enough, you'd have thought he might have learned from the Preston game which players hide from a physical battle, but, he'll get it.

nope. 5 points is enough, on appeal with the FA's current scoring system. Just has to have played in equivalent champions league type competition for his current club. National team appearances scores more points and isn't contested.

and the inevitable down-vote from our resident Doncaster Rovers lurker. Might want to check into Toshiya Fujita, what with him being our chief scout in Asia, being Japanese and stating Orta has briefed him to identify young Japanese talent. It won't be a first-team player. Might be about to announce a tie-up with a Japanese feed club. Might be signing a Japanese kid for the under-23s. Won't be anyone for the first team.

Shunta Nakamura
Takefusa Kubo
Probably going to be a talented Japanese kid for the under 23s

Why play Berardi at CB ahead of Halme?

We have a wealth of talent in the under 23s. Despite what some think, Bielsa isn't using it. Kids don't come on for anything more than cameo appearances and make an instant impact. They don't start. Unless they're loanees. Then you stick with two thirds of a season of mediocre running into nothing from Harrison.

Bielsa and his army of coaches doesn't come cheap. Not that I'd ever say he's not worth it, but the operating costs of 20 plus coaches at this level is almost like funding Domcaster Rovers for a season on top.

I don't have a problem with any player leaving but, if the might of Brentford can turn an outlay of 2 or 3 million into a profit of 40 to 50 million buying right and selling high, LUFC is doing something seriously wrong. Love the club all you want and nobody here will disagree with the sentiment. But with only two CBs currently on the books of the first team and us haemorraghing defenders on the cheap to other clubs, we're going to 3 at the back next season? White is Coop's understudy? The way to sure up a leaky, unsure defence is to defend in the opposition final third? That thinking cost us promotion last season.

The problem is that the two in midfield are being pulled around out of position away from home. Counter-attack is fine if you're not playing a team sitting back waiting for a counter. It's not a matter of personnel, it's formation and the fact that TC doesn't change it, when necessary. I have no issues seeing the boys play a more defensive formation away from home. O'Kane is a good footballer, but you can't expect him to mark two men and TC should be flexible enough to have a formation switch in his pocket if necessary, not just throwing different bodies into the same problem. They're not there, yet, with this system so have a backup plan.
